Hodnocení dlouhodobého vlivu regulace uličního parkování na lokalizaci firem v oblastech hl. m. Prahy / Evaluation of a long-term influence of on-street parking regulation on business firms locations in the city of Prague

Lukeš, Václav January 2019 (has links)
BC. VÁCLAV LUKEŠ - DIPLOMA THESIS Evaluation of a long-term influence of on-street parking regulation on business firms locations in the city of Prague Abstract Car use is one of the key conditions for many companies to carry out their activities. Limiting the use of cars by regulating parking in the use of public parking space might reduce the competitiveness of some companies through possible lower customer attractivity, limited comfort for commuters from distant locations or reduced supply. As a result, parking regulation can also influence the localisation of companies in the city itself. Foreign studies diverge in a view of the subject and to some extent, they do reflect the cultural environment of the region. Therefore, the aim of this thesis is to assess the influence of street parking regulation on their localization based on the example of the City of Prague using quantitative and spatial information about individual companies. Thanks to a significant statistical sample of subjects in the analysis, it is possible to evaluate whether the changes in the horizontal and/or vertical structure of companies are related to the evolution of changes in the regulation of on-street parking in the City of Prague.

Love at first search : a qualitative study exploring generated attitudes towards listings in SERPs

Nilsson, Linnéa, Nordling, Dante January 2022 (has links)
Background: Search engine result pages (SERPs) act as an information channel between businesses and consumers. There is no way of denying search engines massive success in marketing for companies. SERP allows companies to be seen, communicate, and promote their products and services in an environment sorted by relevance for the consumer. The search engine is one way of building a solid brand online; therefore, it is crucial to investigate how to catch the user's attention and understand their attitudes in the first step of the decision-making process. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to explore the generated attitudes towards the content that is displayed in each listing in the search engine result pages (SERPs). Methodology: This research undertook an inductive qualitative approach with an exploratory research design. A pre-study with three cases was developed and eight semi-structured interviews were conducted. The eight participants were based on non-probability judgemental sampling. The respondents were equally diverse between men and women between the ages of 24-29. Conclusion: This study concludes that the main explored positive attitudes that were generated towards the content of the listings in the SERPs were primarily the relevance of the search term throughout the listing, as well as brand familiarity. Other positive influences of favorable attitudes were short and concise but informative listings as well as displaying pictures. Furthermore, negative attitudes were found to be generated towards poor relevance and paid search in the listings, where organic results generated only positive attitudes towards it.

Evaluation of Games Monetization Approaches : A case study on PlayersUknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG)

Gillani, Syed Muhammad Farhan January 2021 (has links)
Video games have become a great source of entertainment and emerged as a massive industry in the past few decades. Technological advancements and evolution of smartphones have made it easier for developers to develop and launch their games on different platforms mostly in digital form. Where the technology has facilitated game developers, it has also made this industry very competitive. Companies/developers need to consistently review their monetization strategies and make necessary changes to them in order to stay profitable. This study evaluates the monetization approaches of a case game by conducting a public survey. By analyzing the responses received from users from different regions of the world, this study found out how users from different regions have different attitudes towards gaming and how these can affect monetization approaches. Users from different regions spend time on gaming differently and their total number of gaming hours also vary. The findings from the thesis show that the specific hours might be a potential for gaming companies monetization investigation. In-game advertisements is one of the most popular monetization approaches and majority of the users from all age groups, regions, genders, and professions have no issues watching ads to receive some in-game benefits. Similarly, in-app purchase model of the case game proved to be very popular among its users. Subscriptions model, on the other hand, may prove to be another popular model for generating revenue, however, the company needs to address some issues to make users continue with their subscriptions. This study points out some reasons why users stop spending money on the case game. The study identifies some mitigation points as potential aspects that might have impact on monetization.

Za co jsou čeští čtenáři ochotní zaplatit - Specifika placeného obsahu zpravodajského serveru Deníku N / What are Czech Readers Willing to Pay For: The Defining Aspects of Paid Content of the Deník N News Website

Havlík, Tomáš January 2021 (has links)
This diploma thesis examines the trend of subscription news content on the internet. It deals with the use of paywall as one of the possible future business models of media in the digital sphere in contrast to the advertising-based business models that dominate in the Czech Republic now. This phenomenon is explored on the example of the relatively new journal, Deník N. The theoretical part of this paper examines the transformation of the media industry in the world and in the Czech Republic and the challenges this transformation brings. Based on a comparison and analysis of a number of academic papers and examples from practice, this thesis examines the defining aspects of publishing news content on the internet and the possibilities of its monetization. Furthermore, this thesis presents a detailed profile of Deník N, with the help of public data and interviews with the management of its newsroom. This theoretical framework then provides the background for the following research methodology and its implementation. The practical part of this paper is a quantitative analysis of the content of Deník N in comparison with the digital news platform Aktuálně. This analysis deals with the specifics of paid content in comparison with content available for free, and it questions the added value of Deník N...

Harnessing A Shared Value Between Generational Workers: The Optimum Leave Policy for Generational Workers in the Behavioral Healthcare Industry

Jones , James W January 2023 (has links)
How policies offering flexible or unlimited PTO shape employees of different generations’ intentions to stay in behavioral health is not well understood. Using Caplow et al.’s 5Ps theory as a framework, 20 participants of various generations in the workforce were interviewed to explore the perceptions of flexible or unlimited PTO policies among behavioral healthcare workers as they related to perceptions of satisfaction, productivity, and intent to leave. Eight themes emerged from thematic analysis. The themes (a) different generational groups have different PTO preferences, (b) PTO policies required responsibility and accountability of workers, (c) PTO policies are not reasons to leave the behavioral healthcare industry, and (d) PTO policies created feelings of being valued and respected among generational workers (e) generational workers feel satisfied with the autonomy they enjoy with PTO policies, (f) generational workers feel satisfied with the amount of time they spend with people as a result of PTO policies, (g) generational workers can focus on working when they feel rested and healthy, and (h) generational workers feel accomplished and in control of their work. Key findings from this study indicated that effectively implementing these policies could improve employee retention and engagement, reduce employee burnout and turnover, and increase employee work-life balance, which is expected not only to improve employee recruitment and retention, but result in better patient care. / Business Administration/Strategic Management

Influencer marketing : En kvalitativ konsumentstudie om hur betalda samarbeten påverkar trovärdigheten till en influencer / Influencer marketing : A qualitative consumer study of how paid collaborations affect the credibility of an influencer

Ahlström, Julia, Stockelid, Hanna, Jarnevall, Andrea January 2022 (has links)
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to contribute to a deeper understanding of the factors that affect an influencer's credibility by investigating how the credibility of an influencer is affected by paid collaborations. Method: In order to be able to answer the purpose and gain a deeper understanding of the subject, a qualitative study has been conducted through semi-structured interviews. The essay has an abductive approach as a starting point. Thirteen semi-structured interviews were conducted with individuals who were suitable for the study according to developed respondent criteria. Theoretical framework: The theoretical starting point of the thesis is existing theories about influencers and advertising on social media. Furthermore, “The source credibility model” (Ohanian 1990) serves as a theoretical starting point for the study as the model describes credibility through four concepts that served as a starting point for shaping the essay's interview guide. Results: Based on the respondents' views on paid collaborations, three themes have been identified that together or individually affect the credibility of an influencer. The first theme "Amount" aims to describe how the amount of paid collaborations can affect an influencer's credibility. The second theme "Time" aims to describe how the contract period of a collaboration can affect an influencer's credibility. The third theme "Congruence" aims to describe how the congruence between a brand and a product can affect an influencer's credibility. These three themes can independently or together affect credibility. These themes add to previous research by clarifying additional factors that affect the credibility of an influencer. This thesis is written in Swedish.

Barns exponering i betalda samarbeten på Instagram : En kvalitativ studie om hur influencers exponerar sina barn i betalda samarbeten och hur instagramanvändare upplever dessa bilder / Children's Exposure in Paid Collaborations on Instagram : A Qualitative Study of How Influencers Expose Their Children in Paid Collaborations and How Instagram Users Experience These Images

Alverby, Emilia, Linder, Elin January 2022 (has links)
Influencers are a large part of the social media world, which has given motive to influencer marketing where influencers market products through paid collaborations with companies. In some of these paid collaborations children are shown, because Swedish influencers include their children in the content they publish on social media. The purpose of the study is to examine, from a visual point of view, how Swedish influencers portray their children in paid collaborations, as well as how female Instagram users in the age group 18-30 years experience images in which children participate. With a qualitative approach, the study was conducted with the help of six semi-structured interviews and an image analysis supported by theories. A pilot study in the form of a questionnaire survey has served as a basis for the study's delimitations and recruitment of respondents. Moreover, it has also worked as support for the interview guide. The result of the analysis shows that children are portrayed in relation to their parent, where the child interacts with the marketed product while sitting down. Children's facial expressions vary from happy to confused, also both ethos and pathos are consistently rhetorical tools used in the portraying of children in paid collaborations. Female instagram users, between the ages of 18-30 years old, have mixed experience of images where children are exposed in paid collaborations. The experience is mainly affected by how the children are portrayed in the picture, but the experience can also vary depending on the composition of the image. Important components for how the target group experiences these types of images are the following; the environment in which the child is shown, the child's facial expression and character, if there is an activity in the image, who the influencer is and which product is marketed, as well as ethical aspects. Images with more natural elements in form of environment, character, and positive emotions through facial expressions are experienced as more genuine, natural and wonderful. /

Piette, Stéphanie 04 1900 (has links)
This study is about the work culture of the women who were employed by Dupuis Frères, a famous Montreal department store, between 1920 and 1960. We will focus on the features of this particular type of paid work, that is women’s work in retail in Quebec. We will also insist on the nature and evolution of that work culture and on the fact that it was influenced, during this period, by the transformations that occurred in the construction of new forms of respectable femininity. First, our goal is to show that these Dupuis Frères women employees didn’t work for the sole purpose of earning a living, but did also in order to live a more pleasant life, to entertain themselves by participating in leisure activities organized by their employer and to create new bonds among themselves. With this work culture that they developed, these women workers also created themselves a new particular identity. We also want to show that Dupuis Frères, with its paternalistic management, was controlling its employees and was exploiting their work culture to ensure the employees’ faith in them and maintain the company’s reputation. Second, we want to prove that even if the work culture of the women working at Dupuis Frères, during that period, was influenced by domesticity and the separate spheres ideology (features of the dominant « traditional » femininity), it was more and more incorporating, mostly from Second World War, new dimensions of a more « modern » femininity that were not replacing the mother-housewife ideal, but that rather were making their feminine identity more complex.
