Inkluderad? - pedagogers arbete för inkludering av fysiskt funktionsnedsatta elever på fritidshemMacbagan, Camilla, Pollacco, Hannah January 2016 (has links)
The purpose of the survey was to see what methods teachers use to include the physically disabled students in leisure education and the used methods meet the goals and requirements under the UNCRC, the Salamanca Statement and national law formulate. The study had two main questions: How do teachers describe their methods of including the physically disabled students at leisure centers? Does the leisure education meet the requirements of the UNCRC, the Salamanca Statement and national law? Followed by two sub-questions: What is the economic conditions of the leisure centers? In what extent are the leisure centers accessible for the physical disabled students? To answer the purpose and issues qualitative group interviews with 2-3 teachers at three separate leisure centers in a minor, and major municipality in Skåne was conducted. The survey shows that there is a commitment and an ongoing effort to include students with physical disabilities in activities. The survey also shows that there is a risk that these students are stigmatized and restricted in personal development. In order to achieve the goals contained in the declarations and national legislation governing the integration and inclusion of physically disabled students, the survey shows that more extensive changes are required in the way the school organization meets these students' needs at the leisure centers.

Implementing physically active learning: Future directions for research, policy, and practiceDaly-Smith, Andy, Quarmby, T., Archbold, V.S.J., Routen, A.C., Morris, Jade L., Gammon, C., Bartholomew, J.B., Resaland, G.K., Llewellyn, B., Allman, R., Dorling, H. 24 September 2020 (has links)
Yes / To identify co-produced multi-stakeholder perspectives important for successful widespread physically active learning (PAL) adoption and implementation.
A total of 35 stakeholders (policymakers n = 9; commercial education sector, n = 8; teachers, n = 3; researchers, n = 15) attended a design thinking PAL workshop. Participants formed 5 multi-disciplinary groups with at least 1 representative from each stakeholder group. Each group, facilitated by a researcher, undertook 2 tasks: (1) using Post-it Notes, the following question was answered: within the school day, what are the opportunities for learning combined with movement? and (2) structured as a washing-line task, the following question was answered: how can we establish PAL as the norm? All discussions were audio-recorded and transcribed. Inductive analyses were conducted by 4 authors. After the analyses were complete, the main themes and subthemes were assigned to 4 predetermined categories: (1) PAL design and implementation, (2) priorities for practice, (3) priorities for policy, and (4) priorities for research.
The following were the main themes for PAL implementation: opportunities for PAL within the school day, delivery environments, learning approaches, and the intensity of PAL. The main themes for the priorities for practice included teacher confidence and competence, resources to support delivery, and community of practice. The main themes for the policy for priorities included self-governance, the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services, and Skill, policy investment in initial teacher training, and curriculum reform. The main themes for the research priorities included establishing a strong evidence base, school-based PAL implementation, and a whole-systems approach.
The present study is the first to identify PAL implementation factors using a combined multi-stakeholder perspective. To achieve wider PAL adoption and implementation, future interventions should be evidence based and address implementation factors at the classroom level (e.g., approaches and delivery environments), school level (e.g., communities of practice), and policy level (e.g., initial teacher training). / The research symposium and workshop were supported by an internal research grant from the School of Sport, Leeds Beckett University

A task-specific approach to job accommodation in physically-demanding positionsBester, George Francis 29 October 2008 (has links)
Throughout the world, including South Africa, various approaches have been identified and implemented in an attempt to ensure that employees in physically-demanding positions are properly managed from a physical work capacity point of view, the primary goal always being to return the employee in need of assistance to full working capacity as soon as possible. The burning question has, however, always remained: “What happens to the employee in the meantime?” This study focused on exactly that question, the aim being to develop a comprehensive tool to assist all parties concerned in managing the affected employee through the application of task-specific job accommodation. The predetermined goal of the study was to develop a task-specific job accommodation tool for a physically-demanding position. This was achieved through a number of steps, which included an extensive literature review, a thorough job analysis, identification of a suitable test battery with related minimum physical requirements and cut scores, interviews, and the eventual development of the tool. Once the task-specific job accommodation tool was completed, the next step was to make use of three case studies to assist in illustrating the way the tool is to be implemented, as well as to show the potential value of its implementation. The information from three actual incapacity cases in the company concerned was used for these case studies. The results from this study are extremely positive and the three case studies have provided a glimpse of the potential value that could be added through the implementation of the job accommodation tool. The final product will greatly assist the company concerned in managing incapacitated employees in a manner that is beneficial to both the company and the individuals involved. Hopefully, this study will contribute to bring about a new era in the way South African companies and their occupational health departments approach the management of their incapacitated employees. Sportuojančių ir nesportuojančių paauglių savo kompetencijos suvokimo skirtingose srityse raiška ir sąsajos su bendru savęs vertinimu / The expression of perceived self – competence in different areas and its relation with global self- worth among physically active and non active adolescentsJamantienė, Loreta 12 May 2006 (has links)
Many scholars are interested in the stage of adolescence. This period is marked by immense change in individual’s psychosocial, cognitive and physical development. Intensive psychophysical development suggests certain personality direction, changes in activeness and autonomy, which put adolescents into the contradictory situations, such as growing aspirations differing from reality, difficulties related with identity formation, inadequate self – value. Growing conflicts of adolescents’ and adults’ values, sense of identity, changing status in society make an individual perceive not only surrounding environment, but oneself as a part of it as well. The development of self – perception is the most intense at the stage of adolescence and it includes perception of self – concept, self – worth. Self – worth is one of the components of self – perception, reflecting individual’s view at oneself and depending upon one’s abilities, perceived competence. Adolescent, who is able to perceive oneself as being capable in many important areas, is tend to value oneself and be successful in socializing. Socialization program for children and youth (2004) states, that it is important to develop occupation of youths and improve its quality. Sport is one of the most acceptable activities for adolescents. Involvement in sport activity positively influences adolescents’ self – worth, withdraw them from various addictions, helps to integrate into society.

Fysiskt närvarande ledarskap. Spelar det någon roll? : En kvalitativ studie kring likheter och skillnader mellan fysiskt närvarande och fysiskt frånvarande ledarskap. / Physically present leadership. Does it matter? : A qualitative studie to understand how physically present and physically absent leadership resembles and differs from each other.Pertot, Jacqueline, Lemos, Eva January 2017 (has links)
Digitalization has made working outside the office easier. When the physical meeting between manager and employee does not exist, another type of leadership is needed. Research has shown that, as the information society has advanced, leadership has evolved from a traditional, hierarchical leadership to a more decentralized coaching leadership. But what happens when a leader must lead and coach an employee that he or she does not physically meet? And does this leadership differ from a physically present leadership? The aim of this study has thus been to understand in what ways physically present and physically absent leadership resembles and differs from each other, based on the manager's perspective. This study is based on a qualitative perspective. The understanding of the perception of the subject has therefore been the starting point. In this study managers in the Stockholm area have been interviewed. Interview data has then been analyzed against theoretical frameworks within leadership and communication. Furthermore, the results of this analysis has been linked to previous research on the subject. The results of this study show that participating managers perceive themselves as being available to their employees, regardless whether they exercise physically present or physically absent leadership. Most of the managers emphasize a good relationship with their employees and the importance of seeing the individual in the employee. Our study shows that the physically distance between manager and employee affects which type of leadership the manager applies. Managers with physically present leadership show a more supervising leadership style compared to managers who exercise physically absent leadership.
