Sveriges hälso- och sjukvård är styrd av politiker, här hamnar regionfullmäktige i en central roll. Samtidigt i andra änden av organisationen finns professionen som själva besitter expertkunskap. Besluten som fattas av politiken ska sedan implementeras och arbetas efter inom organisationen av professionen. Den speciella relation professionen och politiken har till varandra inom ramarna för svensk hälso- och sjukvård leder till en relativt unik position för regionala politiker som inte sällan kritiseras i flera forum. Detta fördjupningsarbete undersöker hur politiken själv ser på denna relation. Den undersöker om och i så fall hur politiken tänker inom ramen för sitt uppdrag på att ha den medicinska professionen delaktig i framtagande, utformande och implementering av politiska beslut. Inom ramen för detta fördjupningsarbete pekas inte ut rätt eller fel utan det ser i stället till att fånga upp synen och åsikterna hos politiken och kopplar detta till existerande forskning för att undersöka var det finns utrymme för förbättring samt att hitta nya åsikter och faktorer i denna ständigt aktuella fråga. Genom en enkätundersökning framkommer att det finns ambitioner att förbättra dialogen mellan politik och profession utan att professionen för den delen ska styra den politiska agendan. Samtidigt läggs vikt vid fullmäktiges övergripande och visionära nivå och fokus läggs i stället på att bygga upp en kedja och organisation som främjar att var hierarkiska nivå har sitt ansvar och vikten vid en tydlighet existerande och uttalad väg för hur information färdas emellan politik och profession.

Abstract   Autobiographies by politicians are growing as a genre in Sweden and since 1991 female politicians have gradually become active writers in the genre. This thesis is concerned with the effect of gender on how autobiographies by politicians are being received in editorials and reviews in Swedish daily press. By using theories by Judith Butler, Paulina de los Reyes, Raewyn Connell and John Chr. Jørgensen both a quantitative and a qualitative study are carried out. Based on an analysis of editorials and reviews of all political autobiographies published 1991–2013, I find that male politicians get both a higher number of and longer editorials and reviews than female politicians. This difference is growing over time. In addition to the quantitative study, the thesis also provides an intensive study of editorials and reviews from six selected autobiographies. The specific focus in this part is how questions of gender and gender-equality are treated; how and to what extent the background and personal life of the writing politician are described and if the autobiography is valued based on literary values and/or the reviewers personal opinions. I find that gender does have an impact on all these subjects and that it intersects with mainly class concerning the background and personal life of the politician.

Dieser Beitrag untersucht den Kontext der Berichterstattung über Politiker in deut- schen Hauptnachrichtensendungen vor der Bundestagswahl 2005. Dabei wird auf inhaltsanalytische Daten zurückgegriffen. Das zentrale Ergebnis der Studie ist, dass Politiker am häufigsten in Zusammenhang mit Wahl und Wahlkampf dargestellt werden. Es folgen Sachthemen und Eigenschaften der Politiker. Unpolitische Eigenschaften spielen gemessen an der gesamten Berichterstattung kaum eine Rolle. / This article analyzes the context in which German politicians are represented in German evening news before the parliamentary elections 2005. For this research project data from a content analysis is used. The conclusion is that in evening news politicians most frequently appear in the context of election and campaigning. Policies come second, the characteristics of politicians come third. Private characteristics are not important compared to the over-all.

The purpose of this study was to identify differences and similarities in information management amongst a group of elected representative county councillors' in Älvsborgs län. Ten qualitative semi-structured, in-depth interviews have been carried out with the chairmen and vice chairmen of five public health and medical service committees. They were asked about their environment, assignment, work roles, positions within the county council, and their performance level. Individual needs and characteristics have been observed. The study shows that there are more similarities than differences regarding the county councillors' management of information. They all have needs at three different levels; as private individuals, as individuals practising a profession, and as politicians. These levels both conflict and agree with each other. The study also shows that formalized/non-formalized oral sources play a dominant role in information management, which satisfy both cognitive and affective needs. Despite experience and practise of extracting the most relevant information from lengthy texts, the majority of them express a desire to have someone to help them select and systemize information. Increased computerization is also a requirement amongst the county councillors.
