Walter Benjamin救贖美學及其教育蘊意之研究──後人文境遇的靈光追尋 / A study of Walter Benjamin's aesthetics of redemption and its implications on education: Seeking the aura of post-human condition涂真瑜, Chen, Yu Tu Unknown Date (has links)
Living in the high-tech era, human and technology have been closely intertwined. Emerging Technologies not only gradually change people’s way of life, but also unconsciously influence educational practice. Facing this condition of overdependence on science and technology, the author is curious to ask: will high-tech application make education better? Or worse? This dissertation takes Walter Benjamin’s aesthetics in age of mechanical reproduction as starting point, the author analyses Benjamin’s Messianic redemption aesthetics for replying the crisis which is caused by capitalism and the culture industry, and attempting to seek ”Aura” which is disappeared with the death of tradition. Under post-human context of humanity and science entanglements, this study suggests education can apply Benjamin’s aesthetics of "negativity" and "constellation of thinking" to unfold pluralistic educational horizons, and also can pay attention to "di-standardizing of educational practice "," cultivating humanities "," integrating digital technology as a instructional supplementary tool", " encouraging creativity and cultural development "and "cooperating for sharing common prosperity ", the author anticipates to lead and reshape new “Aura” for the age of digital reproduction.

This dissertation deals with the Animal Studies, an area that develops as a rich field of interdisciplinarity already in its origin.. But in order not to make an aprioristic judgement of a field in its particularities, it is necessary to clarify points in common to the theoreticians of the most diverse academic origins that compose the Animal Studies and to draw up plans for a significant future. After establishing the necessary dialogues between theory and social field, I proceed to the analysis of certain points of the works Disgrace and Elizabeth Costello, with the objective of highlighting the potential of this corpus for the development of the critique of the categories of humanity and animality according to the contributions of Posthumanism and inserting it in the field of Animal Studies. The fundamental theorist for this work is Jacques Derrida, mainly in his work O animal que logo sou. After presenting an overview of the Animal Studies, especially under the approach of Paul Waldau, I bring to the meeting the post-humanist Rosi Braidotti, whose work The post-human retreat the categories of becoming-earth and becoming-animal, which give consequence to the analysis of the literary corpus of this work. I also dialogue with the Mitleidsethik, the ethic of compassion of Schopenhauer. I conclude that the tasks of Animal Studies and Post-humanism are similar in relation to the greater understanding of the inter-species interactions, for the consequent proposition of new ways of living in a more-than-human world.

Facing to the winding evolution of European integration, our aim is to analyze the process followed by the political system in Europe, from the perspective of Niklas Luhmann’s System Theory. Although Luhmann has never made a punctual observation about this question, his theory gives us a pluridisciplinary framework with a remarkable innovative ability in order to think modern society’s complexity, post-national relations and political reconfigurations. This is an auspicious approach in a context of political decentralization with regard to the European society, and a context of decentralization of the National-State with regard to the political system. This original situation provokes an uncertainty face to the future which shows a transitional moment in reality as well as in theoretical formulation on this reality. Our research focuses on reformulating the system’s structure of concepts; we consider its renewal necessary. Despites the fructiferous nature of system theory’s observations, descriptions and concepts: anti-regionalism, post-humanism, constructivism or the specificity of politics for instance; we propose the introduction and application of a renewed conceptual schema that focuses on the analysis of society in its complexity, multi-level, “policontextural”, polycentric aspects as well as multiple temporalities. Europe itself takes a particular reference in the intertwined theoretical space of a global complexity (“World-Society”) and of a complexity inherited from territorial differentiation (Nation- States and regions); our research tries to find out the best possible perspective from which we could observe this phenomenon.

transdisciplinaridade.
The present research aims to analyze how transdisciplinarity, using as reference the complex thinking and post-humanistic thinking, can be presented as a method of teaching Animal Law. The Cartesian paradigm promoted the split between philosophy and science and, consequently, the fragmentation of knowledge and production and a onedimensional/
disciplinary wisdom. The need to overcome the fragmentation of knowledge gave the opportunity, in law, to search for new paradigms and for a transdisciplinary perspective that understands the various levels of reality presented in the complex daily problems. Resolution CNE/CP (National Education Advisory Council/Full Concil, in Portuguese) nº 9/2004, which established the current National Curricular Guidelines for undergraduate courses in Law, maintained the requirement for observance of interdisciplinarity in the training of students - something already expected, in a smaller dimension, since the Ordinance of MEC (Ministry of Education, in Portuguese) nº 1.886/1994. The new proposal for reformulation of these Guidelines, authored by the OAB
(Lawyers from Brazil Organization, in Portuguese), extends the relevance of
interdisciplinarity in Law, mentioning, including, transdisciplinarity. Despite it, this reformulation proposal ignores the need for the mandatory content of Animal Law in the curriculum, even though it included the prediction of contents related to Environmental Law. The initiative of adopting interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity in legal education seems to be obscured by a curriculum proposal composed of traditional legal disciplines, with profiles and methods compatible with the Cartesian paradigm and, also, with the anthropocentric paradigm. This research concluded that Animal Law, due to its characteristics and the particularities of its object of study, on the other hand, requires the adoption of a transdisciplinary method, which adequate itself to the normative requirements of Brazilian legal education and that there is potential to collaborate in the deconstruction of the traditional
curricular bias, of Cartesian and anthropocentric character. For that, a bibliographic research was used as a parameter, which used the documentary analysis, using the monographic as a method of procedure and as reference the dialogue between complex thinking and posthumanist thinking in legal education.

Přehodnocení zvířete: posthumanistické tendence v (post) moderní beletrii / Rethinking the Animal: Post-Humanist Tendencies in (Post) Modern LiteratureGridneva, Yana January 2017 (has links)
This thesis posits post-humanism as a philosophy that engages directly with the problem of anthropocentrism and is concerned primarily with the metaphysics of subjectivity. It studies five literary texts (James Joyce's Ulysses, Virginia Woolf's Flush, Djuna Barnes' Nightwood, Brigid Brophy's Hackenfeller's Ape and J.M. Coetzee's Elizabeth Costello: Eight Lessons) that challenge the humanistic or classical subject through critical engagement with what this subject traditionally saw as its antithesis - the animal. These texts contest various fixed assumptions about animality and disrupt the status-quo of the human. Breaking with the tradition that treats animals exclusively as a metaphor for the human, they attempt to see and understand animality outside the framework of anthropocentric suppositions. This project aims to describe the strategies these texts employ to conceptualize animality as well as the methods they apply to delineate its subversive potential and to disrupt the human- animal binary. Its theoretical framework combines the work of thinkers belonging to the new but thriving field of Animal Studies with the ideas of Jacques Derrida, Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari. It is this project's great ambition to contribute towards the development of new post- humanist ethics defined by its...

Writing with Letterpress: A Case Study for Research on Human-Technology InteractionDevon S Cook (11820869) 18 December 2021 (has links)

This research uses the composition practices of three
experienced letterpress typesetters as a case study for the development of a
methodology for studying human-technology interaction. This methodology tries
to take seriously the implications that theories of materiality have for
empirical research in writing and technology.

Data was collected from three experienced typesetters, each
of whom was observed setting type for two hours, then interviewed for 1 ½ to 2
hours, using observation footage to inform interview questions. Interview
transcripts and observation footage were then coded for observable material
intra-actions and the influences that characterized those actions and brought
them into being.

Data analysis produced six desiderata, or desires for
design, that emerged as driving the composition process: 1) a desire to use the
technology, 2) a desire for efficiency, 3) a desire to imitate/defer to
historical practices, 4) a desire for letter-level correctness, 5) attention to
aesthetics, and 6) a desire to communicate.

Media och materia : En intermedial studie av Metted Edvardsens föreställning Oslo / Media and matter : An intermedial study of the performance Oslo, by Mette EdvardsenLydahl, Karl January 2021 (has links)
This essay analyzes Mette Edvardsens performative work oslo, which usually falls under the label of dance and choreography. The performance is in many ways making use of and staging language though, so the aim here is to examine how the linguistic and textual material of the performance is enacted in relation to its mediating devices and vice versa. The essay is making use of the media theory by David J. Bolter and Richard A. Grusin to show that no medium stands by itself but always exists and works in a web-like relation to other medias. Language will therefore not be seen as isolated but always interacting with other mediating instances. Their theory will also stand as a base in trying to track different medias ideological origin. With inspiration from actor-network theory, this essay tries to map the performance as a network made up by components. The components will be understood, through material- semiotic theorists as Donna Haraway and Karen Barad, to exhibit agency. That is, they are seen to be doing something, they affect the network in a way which is beyond the control and possible intention by an author. The essay shows that Edvardsens performance is being enacted by its network, wherein the author or choreographer is one but not the only actor. The essay also examines how we come to understand a body or and object for what they are, how we define their borders, and will argue that borders are not static but are open for negotiation.

Books & Bricks : a case study on the role of media in library designde Burger, Katharina W M, Olsson, Elin January 2022 (has links)
