Förskolepedagogers tankar om skogen som utbildningsplats / Preschool teachers’ thoughts about the forest as a place for education

Berglund, Sara January 2013 (has links)
This is an interview study with eleven preschool teachers. The purpose with this study has been to find out teachers view on the forest as an educational resource. The result shows that the interviewed consider the forest as an educational resource. With educational resource means that the pedagogs saw the forest as an access in children’s learning process. They use the forest in the learning of science, but also, for example, Swedish and mathematics. Some difficulties were encountered during the interviews; one was the lack of interest and knowledge of science and the forest. The other thing was that many of the children come from war- torn countries which made it difficult to work with the forest as an educational resource. Because these children and their families found the forest as an insecure and dangerous environment.

The Attitudes Of Preschool Teachers Toward Parent Involvement

Kaya, Rukiye 01 September 2007 (has links) (PDF)
Recent studies show that parent involvement in schools increases students&rsquo / academic achievements, and it has many benefits for parents, teachers, children, schools and the community as a whole. Teachers are one of the most important components of parent involvement and their attitudes toward parent involvement are significant. Unfortunately, all around the world, and especially in Turkey, there are not enough studies measuring various aspects of preschool teachers&rsquo / attitudes toward parent involvement. This study was designed to see whether differences exist in preschool teachers&rsquo / attitudes, who work in public and private schools toward parent involvement, to determine the affects of school type, educational level, graduated program, experience, income, number of students, age group, taking course on parent involvement and preparation to parent involvement by means of course/s, in-service education, sending newsletter, and frequency of sending them on teachers&rsquo / attitudes of parent involvement and to examine whether there were differences in attitudes of teachers with different self efficacy levels. Preschool teachers were asked to complete &ldquo / The Attitudes of Teachers toward Parent Involvement Scale&rdquo / that includes six subscales all of which were supposed to measure the attitudes of teachers toward parent involvement. The subscales included to the study were: teacher beliefs about parental involvement, teacher self-efficacy for teaching, teacher beliefs about parents&rsquo / efficacy for helping children succeed in school, teacher beliefs about the importance of parent involvement practices, teacher reports of parent involvement and teacher report of invitations to parental involvement. The sample of study consisted of preschool teachers working with children between the ages of 3 and 6 and working in public and private schools of Ankara. 169 preschool teachers from public schools and 121 preschool teachers from private schools in Ankara comprised the total sample. The results revealed that there were not significant differences between the attitudes of public and private school teachers with respect to first five subscales. Educational level of teachers was found effective in the attitudes of teachers only for the fourth subscale. The effect of experience, age group of children, and courses taken on parent involvement on attitudes were only reported for the last subscale. Finally, sending newsletters was found to have an effect on attitudes toward parent involvement for the last two subscales and for frequency of sending newsletters, it was reported that there were differences between the attitudes of teachers with respect to second and last subscales. Graduated program, income, number of children, preparation by means of courses and in-service training did not have an effect on teachers&rsquo / attitudes toward parent involvement. The last finding was related to the difference in the parent involvement attitudes of teachers with lower, middle and higher self efficacy. The results yielded that teachers with higher self efficacy held more positive attitudes on the first two subscales than the ones with middle and higher self efficacy. For the last three subscales, no differences were found. Limitations of the present study, implications for practice and finally recommendations for further studies were offered.

Fryk, Lotta January 2015 (has links)
The purpose of the study is to examine how teachers work with technology in preschool in order to achieve the new objectives of the curriculum. Do they have sufficient experience and knowledge in the area, or are they finding that their experiences and knowledge are not enough? The intention is also to find out about if training in technology can generate interest and more applications in preschool. The method used was interviews and it was a total of eight preschool teachers in a small town in Sweden who participated in the study.   The result shows that all preschool teachers believe that technology is a vital part in preschool. They believe that the foundation is laid for the younger; they want to give them experiences that they can build upon when they grow older. The result also shows that some of the preschool teachers need to be more aware of what they are doing with technology objectives; they should not just force them into the curriculum without thought.

Naturvetenskapliga experiment i förskolan

Sundin, Cecilia January 2015 (has links)

Stimulera intresse för naturkunskap : En studie av hur förskollärare stimulerar barns intresse för naturkunskap / Stimulate Interest in Science : A Study of how Preschool Teachers stimulate Children's Interest in Science

Jonsson, Linda January 2014 (has links)
Young children show early interest in science and it is the preschool’s mission to capture and exploit this interest. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how preschool teachers work to stimulate children’s interest in science. The study is based on six qualitative interviews with preschool teachers from three different preschools in a medium-sized Swedish city. The study addresses what an exploratory approach means to the preschool teachers and how they work to take the children’s interest in science further. The result is that preschool teachers stimulate children’s interest in science by being present, asking ambitious questions, photographing events, discussing in the team and by working theme oriented. The conclusion is that preschool teachers in the study largely has a good will and commitment to stimulate children’s interest in science, and they provide us many good and concrete examples of how this can be done.

Naturvetenskap i förskolan : En intervjustudie om förskollärares tankar och arbetssätt / Science in preschool : An interview study of preschool teacher's thoughts and teaching methods

Ahlberg, Anna January 2014 (has links)
The aim of this study was to investigate how preschool teachers think about preschool science, what they consider science to be and how they deal with specific curricular objectives related to science. Science is a part of our everyday life, it is a prerequisite for understanding everyday phenomena and how the world is working. Nevertheless it is often dropped in favour of other subjects in Swedish preschools. The eight preschool teachers participating in this study are all working in the same municipality in the western part of Sweden with children aged 1- 5 years. The method used in this study was interviews. The interviews were recorded to facilitate the transcriptions. The results show that preschool teachers find that science is an important subject that should be introduced to the children early on in life. They also show that preschool teachers consider science to have a preventive effect on the learning to the children, and it is needed for them to understand everyday processes and phenomena. When working with the curricular objectives linked to science, the result show that preschool teachers perceive nature as an asset to develop the children’s knowledge and interest for scientific concepts. Factors that impact the work with science in preschool could, according to the educators, be lack of knowledge, the children’s age or their attitude towards the subject. Conclusions that can be drawn from this study are that preschool teachers draw on the children’s interests when teaching science. They also find it important to use the correct terms at an early stage. Intervjuerna spelades in vilket underlättade efterarbetet.

Olofsson, Karolina January 2014 (has links)
In the preschool curriculum there is not much described when it comes to the subject of music. What is written about the aesthetic subjects is related to the overall learning moments, rather than separated into objectives for each subject. The learning includes, among other things, that the children will be offered a variety of cultural experiences. However, there is no explanation to what should be included in the use of music. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the function of preschool song circles, based on three preschool teachers' stories. One objective is to describe how the song circle is used to develop children's learning and what ideas the interviewed teachers have about how a good song circle should be performed. The study is built on a qualitative method, where the data collection has been done using semi-structured interviews. It focuses on socio-cultural learning and is influenced by Dewey's theories and Vygotsky's theories. The result indicates that the song circle can be seen as a positive experience in which different learning objectives can be integrated during the activity. Functioning as a meeting place for the group members, the song circle also adds social values.

Uttryck, intryck : Förskollärares tankar om estetiska uttrycksformer i förskolor med tre olika pedagogiska inriktningar / Expression, impression : Preschool teacher´s thoughts on aestetic expression in preschool with three different pedigogical approaches

Lundberg, Ylva January 2014 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to examine how preschool teachers think about their work with aestetic expression with children. In my study, I have chosen qualitative interviewes to take part of the preschool teachers´stories in three different educanational approaches. The prescools that have chosen are Waldorf, Reggio Emilia and a traditonal preschool. To achive this purpose I have used following questions: Which view have preschool teahers about the inportance of aestetic forms of expression for children? How do preschool teacher describe their work with aesthetic expression and what similarities and differences exist between the different pedagogical approaches? The result shows that there are both similarities an differences between the preschools, mainly how they work with aestetic forms of expression. The study also showed that som subjects as drama is not used when prechool teacher belive that they do not have enough knowledge about the subject.
