Reliéfy / Reliefs

Horčicová, Monika Unknown Date (has links)
This master´s thesis consists of three relief objects composed from femur bones. The first relief object is geodetic structure applied to the shape of a sphere. The following two are deformed by softening the material from which they are cast. The second relief object also works with geometry (a square at the base) and systematic folding bones according to a clear order. The third relief can directly interfere with the viewer - the individual femurs contain every two magnets and therefore can move freely with them after the metal plate.

Kroj / The Folk Costumes

Župková, Ilona Unknown Date (has links)
The outcome of my thesis is airy relief in the form of a spreaded Kyjov´s women's folk costumes. It is made up of embroidery and lace, which gets their original lightness without underlying substance. The white color, I have used, strenghts this feeling. All parts are printed by the ABS plastic. I follow the transformation of hand-made embroidery on the machine-made one with this. 3D printing is another entirely fictitious step for me. Just as the embroidery machine adjusts stitches according to their outline, as well as 3D printer has its own structure of applying material.

Le journaliste et son entreprise au Japon : étude sociologique du travail et des carrières dans un modèle professionnel en mutation / The Journalist and his Company in Japan : a Sociological Analysis of Work and Careers in a Changing Professional Model

Castellvi, César 27 November 2018 (has links)
This thesis focuses on the evolution of the relationship between Japanese daily press reporters and the newspaper companies for which they work. At the crossroad of the interactionist sociology of professions, sociology of journalism and economic sociology, this work is mainly built on fieldwork conducted within the newsroom of one national newspaper, the Asahi Shimbun, the second biggest newspaper in the world regarding circulation and readership. Journalism in Japan is structured around one central element: the company. Large companies train their employees, protect reporters from labor competition by integrating them in their internal market, and by controlling access to the main news sources. In turn, they expect from their reporters a strong commitment in work and the acceptance of the appropriation of their work by the company. All those items constitute the organizational logic of Japanese journalism. The first aim of the thesis is to describe the main features of this model, while showing how some elements related to an occupational logic subsist. A second aim is to analyze the impact of two movements. Specific to the newspaper industry, the first one is related to the evolution of the readership and the editorial policies established by newspaper companies confronted to this evolution. The second, which is more generally related to the world of work in Japan, refers to the transformation of the role played by the company in society. Observations conducted within the newsroom of this newspaper company during three years, qualitative interviews and a statistical analysis has allowed us to examine the careers and the division of labor, and to see what concrete evolutions are related to the weakening of the organizational logic.

Komparativní analýza obrazové složky magazínu Reportér a projektu Echo24 / Comparative analysis of the visual component in the magazine Reportér and project Echo24

Weingartová, Michaela January 2019 (has links)
The main goal of this thesis was to determine how projects Echo24 and Reporter work with journalistic photography using comparative analysis of their visual content. Both projects were found in 2014 as a reaction to a dramatical change of ownership of the Czech media. These changes also had an impact on journalistic photographers, because the new owners tend to save their costs on photography. This is also one of the reasons why I chose to analyze projects that started in 2014. To explain the broader context, in the first part of this thesis I describe the context of journalistic photography and the Czech media market development from the year 1989. In this work, I also describe other projects similar to Echo24 and Reportér. In the second part of the thesis, I use quantitative content analysis to describe the usage of the photographs in the printed version of Echo24 and Reportér. I also compare the collected data with answers from questionnaires with members of the editorial of the projects and photojournalists. In this paper, I found out that the project Echo24 represents the opposite approach towards photography than Reportér. Echo24, like other media, tends to save their cost on photography. Reportér on the other side can be defined as the protector of journalistic and photojournalistic values....

Print Quality regarding Advertisements in the Nordic Heatset Printing Industry

Wang, Tao January 2012 (has links)
Accompanied by the fast development of technology and channels in the advertisement industry, many traditional incumbents felt pressure and were seeking ways to change or better their own position within the industry. The Nordic Association of Heatset Printer (NAHP), where this thesis was carried out, is largely associated with these traditional channels for advertising, such like newspapers, brochures and magazines. They are taking their initiative to prepare and face the challenge coming from new entrants within the advertising industry. I have identified that to fulfill the responsibilities to their customers at a very high standard could enable themselves to continuingly remain a competitive position in the advertisement industry, and among these responsibilities, the printing quality is definitely an important one. By checking whether all the printers conform to the error tolerances set by the ISO standard, I could offer the members of the organization useful information and suggestion, and eventually give them directions on where they might need to improve, and where they need to maintain. I have also identified 3 determinants regarding printing and they are print density, dot gain and the ΔE of L*a*b*. Checking whether those three primaries have met the industry standard has become the main job of this thesis work. To finish this thesis work, I have gathered samples from printers within NAHP, tested the color control strips on each samples, input the data into statistical Excel files, programmed to analyze the data, and finally conducted evaluations. The test results have revealed that most presses from the printing houses within my thesis work are able to offer high quality prints. However, certain problems have also been identified. Some presses definitely need to change and improve their printing setting in order to reach ISO standard and achieve audience satisfaction. In addition, the results have also double confirmed that all three investigated properties, print density, dot gain and ΔE of L*a*b*, correlate intensely and influence one and another.

窸窸窣窣xixisusu-All the small sounds around you : A ramble through language, poem, translation, interpretation & endless imagination

Wang, Ziyan January 2022 (has links)
Robert Frost once remarked, “Poetry is what gets lost in translation,” and many literary people find translation to be a near-impossible task.  I can feel that all the “translation” more or less is kind of violence. Behind the language, the culture. Behind the sentences, the individuals. Behind the words, the emotion. Behind the blank space, the currents. If the “original one” is a flower, then translation is cutting the flower from its roots and putting it into a vase (A totally different environment). When Moa read this, she said "Or translation as a seed that is planted in a different soil, and thus grows into a different kind of flower, but still a kind of flower?" I like this idea.  I’m living in translation. Not only translating between my mother language and English, but also between texts and images, even between images and images. And in this case, I believe everyone is living in translation.  My classmates come from different countries all over the world, and none of us has English as our mother tongue. How lucky we are, we all have our private secret language. This is a very interesting environment for me, I became very brave and started thinking deeply about languages and translation.

Metody hodnocení účinku polutantů na fotografie / Evaluation of pollutant impact on photographic images

Brablc, Tomáš January 2012 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the impact of pollutants on colour photography made by inkjet printing technology. There are summarized basic principles of inkjet printing, composition of inks and negative factors influencing the printout quality. The ozone was studied in the experimental part, because it has the stongest degrading effect of all common pollutants. The accelerated ageing test with changing the concentration of ozone and the time of exposure was performed. The test scales were made by using two different inks. The L*a*b* values and optical densities of selected fields were calculated from the reflectance spectra of 918 colour fileds. The colour gamut and its volume were calculated from the L*a*b* values. The changes of colour gamut volume correlated with the changes of optical densities. It emerged that using the colour gamut as the instrument of evaluation of the inkjet printout dyes degradation rate is eligible and it is suitable to recommend this method for the ozone accelerated tests.

Anatomie domu a digitální regionalismus / The House Anatomy and the Digital Regionalism

Boušková, Linda January 2018 (has links)
Robotics and digital design are associated with the creation of free forms. The thesis deals with the potential of new building technologies in the sense of an opportunity to build on the foregoing regional architecture, disconnected by an industrial mass production. A creation that can reinterpret the charm and diversity of Moravian houses, preserving the continuity between old morphology and today’s housing requirements.
