General queueing networks with priorities. Maximum entropy analysis of general queueing network models with priority preemptive resume or head-of-line and non-priority based service disciplines.

Priority based scheduling disciplines are widely used by existing computer operating systems. However, the mathematical analysis and modelling of these systems present great difficulties since priority schedulling is not compatible with exact product form solutions of queueing network models (QNM's). It is therefore, necessary to employ credible approximate techniques for solving QNM's with priority classes. The principle of maximum entropy (ME) is a method of inference for estimating a probability distribution given prior information in the form of expected values. This principle is applied, based on marginal utilisation, mean queue length and idle state probability constraints, to characterise new product-form approximations for general open and closed QNM's with priority (preemptive-resume, non-preemtive head-of-line) and non-priority (first-come-first-served, processor-sharing, last-come-first-served with, or without preemtion) servers. The ME solutions are interpreted in terms of a decomposition of the original network into individual stable GIG11 queueing stations with assumed renewal arrival processes. These solutions are implemented by making use of the generalised exponential (GE) distributional model to approximate the interarrival-time and service-time distributions in the network. As a consequence the ME queue length distribution of the stable GE/GEzl priority queue, subject to mean value constraints obtained via classical queueing theory on bulk queues, is used as a 'building block' together with corresponding universal approximate flow formulae for the analysis of general QNM's with priorities. The credibility of the ME method is demonstrated with illustrative numerical examples and favourable comparisons against exact, simulation and other approximate methods are made. / Algerian government

Interactive video seems to currently be an unpopular field of research. Video resumes however is an increasing trend when applying for jobs and sending out resumes. During this thesis, employers finds interactive video as a new, fun and exciting way of interacting with a resume that simplifies the recruitment process. Also, job seekers find creating interactive video as resumes as an extra nudge in to a company and a better way of marketing themselves for employers. However, conflict occurs between employers and job seekers regarding an interactive video resume. As it simplifies the recruitment process, job seekers have to put down more work when creating an interactive video resume while applying for a job. It is shown in this thesis that there are factors that should be investigated, for instance a platform aimed at interactive video resumes seems not have been developed yet as well as what interactive features an interactive video resume should contain. Job seekers find it difficult if creating such resumes took too long, being unaware of how to display interactive visual elements and which aspects to talk about while recording themselves. This thesis explores the possibility of employers and former recruitment personnel using an interactive video resume as well as job seekers’ ability of creating an interactive video. The main aims of this thesis are to find guidelines of what an interactive video resume mainly should contain and what job seekers thinks of creating and using an interactive video when applying for jobs.

The recruiter’s first impression of a candidate is often formed through the candidate’s CV, and the CV plays a vital role in recruitment processes for convincing the recruiter to proceed with an applicant to a first interview. Thus, it needs to catch the recruiter’s attention and show whether the candidate is an ideal match for what the recruiter is looking for. With the aim to explore web-based CVs with interactive elements and examine users’ habits and requirements in IT consultant recruitment processes, this study asks the question: How can the user experience of an interactive CV page be improved to help facilitate the recruitment process of consultants? By applying an iterative, user-centered design approach, utilizing the Constructive Design Research framework, the study results in a prototype and proposes design suggestions drawing on knowledge generated from the prototype. Further, three characteristics essential to improve the user experience and help facilitate the recruitment process of consultants are suggested. / En rekryterareres första intryck av en kandidat bildas ofta genom kandidatens CV. Vidare spelar CV:t en avgörande roll i rekryteringsprocesser för att övertyga rekryteraren att gå vidare med en kandidat till en första intervju. Detta innebär att ett CV måste fånga en rekryterares uppmärksamhet och visa huruvida kandidaten är en idealistisk match för det rekryteraren letar efter. I syfte att utforska webbaserade CV:n med interaktiva element och undersöka användares vanor och krav i rekryteringsprocesser för IT-konsulter, ställer denna studie forskningsfrågan: Hur kan användarupplevelsen av en interaktiv CV-sida förbättras för att underlätta i rekryteringsprocessen av konsulter? Genom att tillämpa en iterativ användarcentrerad designstrategi där konstruktiv designforskning tillämpas, resulterar studien i en prototyp och föreslår dessutom designförslag utifrån kunskap genererad från prototypen. Vidare föreslås av studien tre attribut som anses vara väsentliga för att förbättra användarupplevelsen och hjälpa till att underlätta rekryteringsprocessen av konsulter.

Currículo e educação física: processo em construção para a escola pública. / Curriculum and physical education: process for building public schools.

The present study one inserts in the research line New Technologies, Education and Work of the Nucleus of After-Graduation in Education of the Federal University of Sergipe has for objective to analyze the process of construction of the Proposal Curricular of Physical Education of the State Secretary of Education of Sergipe, being considered itself the objective and subjective questions that decided the elaboration of the cited document. One is about a case study that has as base theoretician-methodology of the dialectic historical materialism that has as empirical field the Regional Direction of Education of Aracaju (DEA). For in such a way, we use the analysis of contents and interview half-structuralized with two groups of citizens: 04 representative professors of the SEED and 06 teachers who if found in regency of classroom at the moment of the elaboration of the document. We search with this research, from the elements of the curricular theory, to point of that he forms the resume served/serves as an important ally in the materialization of the principles and values of the ideological estimated ones of the neoliberal politics. In this direction, the process of elaboration of the curricular proposals, to the light of the neoliberalism, consists as vehicle that legitimizes to the options politics and the ideological apparatus them related. Thus, we contract that the constant occurred changes of Government of 1996, moment where implementation of the Law nº 9,394/96 of Lines of direction and Bases of the Education up to 1997 year of publication of the Proposal Curricular of Physical Education of the State Secretary of Education had been substantial so that in the weakness of the process of construction of the Proposal Curricular of Physical Education of the State Secretary of Education; in all the analyzed documents we observe a plurality of conceptions. This determination of the State Secretary of Education, with our agreement, intervened significantly for the sprouting of epistemological incoherencies that had harmed the theoretical recital of the Proposal. /Education. We also evidence that in the process of elaboration of the related document the participation of the professors was substantially small, limiting it election and organization of the contents. When using different conceptions, the Proposal Curricular of Physical Education of the State Secretariat of Education of Sergipe, possess an epistemological fragility that harms the understanding of the Physical Education. Thus, only from a critical formation marked out with buoys in one to make pedagogical freedom, a Proposal Curricular will be able to assist in the construction of a society more human and joust. / O presente estudo insere-se na linha de pesquisa Novas Tecnologias, Educação e Trabalho do Núcleo de Pós-Graduação em Educação da Universidade Federal de Sergipe tem por objetivo analisar o processo de construção da Proposta Curricular de Educação Física da Secretaria Estadual de Educação de Sergipe, considerando-se as questões objetivas e subjetivas que permearam a elaboração do referido documento. Trata-se de um estudo de caso que tem como base teórico-metodológica o materialismo histórico dialético que tem como campo empírico a Diretoria Regional de Educação Aracaju (DEA). Para tanto, utilizamos a análise de conteúdos e entrevista semi-estruturada com dois grupos de sujeitos: 04 professores representantes da SEED e 06 professores que se encontravam em regência de classe no momento da elaboração do documento. Buscamos com essa pesquisa, a partir dos elementos norteadores da teoria curricular, apontar de que forma o currículo serviu/serve como um importante aliado na materialização dos princípios e valores dos pressupostos ideológicos da política neoliberal. Assim, constatamos que as constantes mudanças de Governo ocorridas de 1996, momento em que implementação da Lei nº 9.394/96 de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação até 1997 ano de publicação da Proposta Curricular de Educação Física da Secretaria Estadual de Educação foram substanciais para que no enfraquecimento do processo de construção da Proposta Curricular de Educação Física da Secretaria Estadual de Educação; em todas os Documentos analisados observamos uma pluralidade de concepções. Esta determinação da Secretaria Estadual de Educação, em nosso entendimento, interferiu significativamente para o surgimento de incoerências epistemológicas que prejudicaram a fundamentação teórica da Proposta. /Educação. Constatamos também que no processo de elaboração do referido documento a participação dos professores foi substancialmente pequena, limitando-se a seleção e organização dos conteúdos. Ao utilizar diferentes concepções, a Proposta Curricular de Educação Física da Secretaria Estadual de Educação de Sergipe, possui uma fragilidade epistemológica que prejudica a compreensão da Educação Física. Assim, somente a partir de uma formação crítica balizada num fazer pedagógico emancipador, uma Proposta Curricular poderá auxiliar na construção de uma sociedade mais humana e justa.

Educação de jovens e adultos na reforma agrária : um estudo de caso sobre o currículo (1995-2000)

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The Department of Education of the Federal University of Sergipe through the Nucleus of Studies and Research in Alphabet (NEPA/DED/UFS), in 1995 initiated a process of implementation of projects of Education of Young and Adults in areas of the Agrarian Reformation in partnership with the social movements of the field. The first project had the financing of the MEC, as it was financed by the MTb/FAT and the third project for the INCRA. The objective of these projects was to develop strategies where the workers had access to the school by means of specific resumes directed toward the reality lived deeply in the fight for the land. In this way, this research analyzed the resumes developed in the projects of EJA of 1995-2000. The developed research made possible to identify mainly in the projects that the proposal pedagogical prioritized to work with the problematização of the reality and generating subjects, and, involving the citizens of the process in the construction of the resume of the education of the field. When to appeal to documents observed that the proposal curricular, besides contributing for the pertaining to school of the citizens of the State of Sergipe, also was important for the construction of the proposal pedagogical of the PRONERA, especially, because it prioritized methodologies that allows, in the understanding of the social movements and of the educators, a construction criticizes of the reality and in the greater approach between the reading, writing and the reality of the citizens. / O Departamento de Educação da Universidade Federal de Sergipe através do Núcleo de Estudos e Pesquisa em Alfabetização (NEPA/DED/UFS), em 1995 iniciou um processo de implementação de projetos de Educação de Jovens e Adultos em áreas de Reforma Agrária em parceria com os movimentos sociais do campo. O primeiro projeto teve o financiamento do MEC, o segundo foi financiado pelo MTb/FAT e o terceiro projeto pelo INCRA. O objetivo desses projetos era desenvolver estratégias em que os trabalhadores (as) tivessem acesso à escola por meio de currículos específicos voltados para a realidade vivenciada na luta pela terra. Desse modo, esta pesquisa analisou os currículos desenvolvidos nos projetos de EJA de 1995-2000. A pesquisa desenvolvida possibilitou identificar nos projetos que a proposta pedagógica priorizou trabalhar com a problematização da realidade e com temas geradores, e principalmente, envolvendo os sujeitos do processo na construção do currículo da educação do campo. Ao recorrer aos documentos observou-se que a proposta curricular, além de contribuir para a escolarização dos sujeitos do Estado de Sergipe, também foi importante para a construção da proposta pedagógica do PRONERA, especialmente, porque priorizou metodologias que permitem, na compreensão dos movimentos sociais e dos educadores, uma construção crítica da realidade e uma maior aproximação entre a leitura, escrita e a realidade dos sujeitos.

For the reason it analyzed the proposal curricular and the changes suffered during the time to evidence its adequacy to the requirements of efficient the presbiteral formation. The institutions adjusted for this work of formation are the seminaries. The initial formation of the candidate to the priesthood passes for the Lesser Seminary, where it develop the studies of Ensino Médio and Propedêutico. The used methodology was quali-quantitative. The results collected through: questionnaires and interviews had favored the critical analysis theoretician-reflexive on the subject. The quantitative data had been transformed into tables to facilitate to the reading and interpretation of the data. The gotten results had indicated, that the changes must occur whenever to become necessary, so that the process teach-learning is more efficient and the preparation of the seminarista for the future sacerdotal exercise. In the reality of the evolution of the sacerdotal formation was emerged the proposal of renewal of the formative method given by the Vatican II. This formative method aims at a formation as form of inserted seminary in the everyday reality that answers to the requirement to form a priest, communion man . The aim of this work is to form priests who live and that form the people of God for the culture of the communion, the allotment, social justice. The aim of this work is to form the discovery of the joy of living the communion as an accomplishment way. / A pesquisa teve a intenção de verificar as mudanças ocorridas na formação dos seminaristas, candidatos ao sacerdócio católico, num seminário diocesano, através da verificação das mudanças ocorridas após o Concílio Vaticano II (1962-1965), que serviu de inspiração para uma renovada presença na sociedade. Para tanto foi analisada a proposta curricular e as mudanças sofridas nos decorrer do tempo para constatar sua adequação às exigências da formação presbiteral eficiente hoje. As instituições adequadas para este trabalho de formação são os seminários. A formação inicial do candidato ao sacerdócio passa pelo Seminário Menor, onde se realiza os estudos do Ensino Médio e Propedêutico. A metodologia utilizada foi quali-quantitativa. Os resultados coletados através de: questionários e entrevistas favoreceram a análise teórico-reflexiva crítica sobre o tema. Os dados quantitativos foram transformados em tabelas para facilitar a leitura e interpretação dos dados. Os resultados obtidos indicaram, que as mudanças devem ocorrer sempre que se fizerem necessárias, para que o processo ensino-aprendizagem seja mais eficiente e a preparação do seminarista para o futuro exercício sacerdotal. Text ranking based on semantic meaning of sentences / Textrankning baserad på semantisk betydelse hos meningar

Finding a suitable candidate to client match is an important part of consultant companies work. It takes a lot of time and effort for the recruiters at the company to read possibly hundreds of resumes to find a suitable candidate. Natural language processing is capable of performing a ranking task where the goal is to rank the resumes with the most suitable candidates ranked the highest. This ensures that the recruiters are only required to look at the top ranked resumes and can quickly get candidates out in the field. Former research has used methods that count specific keywords in resumes and can make decisions on whether a candidate has an experience or not. The main goal of this thesis is to use the semantic meaning of the text in the resumes to get a deeper understanding of a candidate’s level of experience. It also evaluates if the model is possible to run on-device and if the database can contain a mix of English and Swedish resumes. An algorithm was created that uses the word embedding model DistilRoBERTa that is capable of capturing the semantic meaning of text. The algorithm was evaluated by generating job descriptions from the resumes by creating a summary of each resume. The run time, memory usage and the ranking the wanted candidate achieved was documented and used to analyze the results. When the candidate who was used to generate the job description is ranked in the top 10 the classification was considered to be correct. The accuracy was calculated using this method and an accuracy of 68.3% was achieved. The results show that the algorithm is capable of ranking resumes. The algorithm is able to rank both Swedish and English resumes with an accuracy of 67.7% for Swedish resumes and 74.7% for English. The run time was fast enough at an average of 578 ms but the memory usage was too large to make it possible to use the algorithm on-device. In conclusion the semantic meaning of resumes can be used to rank resumes and possible future work would be to combine this method with a method that counts keywords to research if the accuracy would increase. / Att hitta en lämplig kandidat till kundmatchning är en viktig del av ett konsultföretags arbete. Det tar mycket tid och ansträngning för rekryterare på företaget att läsa eventuellt hundratals CV:n för att hitta en lämplig kandidat. Det finns språkteknologiska metoder för att rangordna CV:n med de mest lämpliga kandidaterna rankade högst. Detta säkerställer att rekryterare endast behöver titta på de topprankade CV:erna och snabbt kan få kandidater ut i fältet. Tidigare forskning har använt metoder som räknar specifika nyckelord i ett CV och är kapabla att avgöra om en kandidat har specifika erfarenheter. Huvudmålet med denna avhandling är att använda den semantiska innebörden av texten iCV:n för att få en djupare förståelse för en kandidats erfarenhetsnivå. Den utvärderar också om modellen kan köras på mobila enheter och om algoritmen kan rangordna CV:n oberoende av om CV:erna är på svenska eller engelska. En algoritm skapades som använder ordinbäddningsmodellen DistilRoBERTa som är kapabel att fånga textens semantiska betydelse. Algoritmen utvärderades genom att generera jobbeskrivningar från CV:n genom att skapa en sammanfattning av varje CV. Körtiden, minnesanvändningen och rankningen som den önskade kandidaten fick dokumenterades och användes för att analysera resultatet. När den kandidat som användes för att generera jobbeskrivningen rankades i topp 10 ansågs klassificeringen vara korrekt. Noggrannheten beräknades med denna metod och en noggrannhet på 68,3 % uppnåddes. Resultaten visar att algoritmen kan rangordna CV:n. Algoritmen kan rangordna både svenska och engelska CV:n med en noggrannhet på 67,7 % för svenska och 74,7 % för engelska. Körtiden var i genomsnitt 578 ms vilket skulle möjliggöra att algoritmen kan köras på mobila enheter men minnesanvändningen var för stor. Sammanfattningsvis kan den semantiska betydelsen av CV:n användas för att rangordna CV:n och ett eventuellt framtida arbete är att kombinera denna metod med en metod som räknar nyckelord för att undersöka hur noggrannheten skulle påverkas.

It is distinguished that, in the latter years, in Brazil and Argentina, the number of Educational Institutions has considerably increased, therefore it is pertinent a comparative study for exchange of information about the institutions and their resumes, that can generate job and income for the egress of the courses and promote the interchange of development and the research among the Institutions. Trata-se de uma área que dinamiza novas esferas produtivas e novas imbricações quanto à formação de blocos, nova dinâmica de concentração e centralização do capital, além de uma nova ordenação política e uma transformação na velocidade do transporte de informação e tecnologia. Destaca-se que, nos últimos anos, no Brasil e na Argentina, aumentou consideravelmente o número de Instituições de Ensino, portanto é pertinente um estudo comparativo para troca de informações sobre as instituições e seus currículos, o que pode gerar emprego e renda para o egresso dos cursos e promover o intercâmbio entre as Instituições para o desenvolvimento e a pesquisa. Também, é possível observar que, na Argentina, a nomenclatura do curso é Contador Público , diferentemente do Brasil. Desta forma, a pesquisa consiste em uma comparação entre os currículos dos cursos de Contabilidade das seguintes Instituições: PUC-SP Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, São Paulo, Brasil; e USAL - Universidade Del Salvador, Buenos Aires, Argentina. O objetivo é identificar os aspectos similares, relativos ao perfil profissiográfico e à composição curricular. A partir deste diagnóstico, pretende-se elencar possíveis contribuições para melhoria dos cursos e propiciar uma reflexão sobre o ensino na área
