Nevoeiro e dinâmica atmosférica: uma contribuição ao estudo sobre ocorrências de nevoeiro no aeródromo da Academia da Força Aérea - Pirassununga/SP / Fog and atmospheric dynamics: a contribution to the study of fog occurrences at the Air Force Academy airfield - Pirassununga-SP

Rosângela de Oliveira Colabone 24 October 2011 (has links)
The objective of this research is the study of climate dynamics of the weather types, responsible for the fog genesis at the Air Force Academy airfield- AFA-located in the region of Pirassununga at coordinates 21º59\'07\'\' S, 47º20\'06\'\' W and the altitude of 600 m . The rhythmic analysis methodology proposed by Monteiro (1971) was applied to the period of the highest occurrence of the phenomenon - April, May, June, July - during three standard years (usual, exceptionally high occurrence and exceptionally low occurrence). Descriptive statistics of the fog occurrences were held in the first part of this paper as well as the characterization of its temporal distribution over 20 years (1989 to 2008 ). The choice of standard years was made by statistical techniques applied to the period of highest occurrence of the phenomenon. The second part of this paper was based on the rhythmic analysis over the years chosen as the standard for the airfield 2003 (usual), 2008 (exceptionally high occurrence) and 2005 (exceptionally low occurrence). As a result it was found that types of fog generator weather occurred preferably under the influence of the Atlantic Polar Air Mass. Sequences of different types of weather triggered after the passage of the Atlantic Polar Air Front or the dominance of the Atlantic Polar Air Mass with squall lines also contributed to the genesis of fog occurrences at the local.

A Performance Guide to Heejo Kim's Choral Arrangements Based on Traditional Korean Folk Tunes and Rhythmic Patterns

Yi, Chung-han 05 1900 (has links)
Heejo Kim (1920-2001) is one of the most prominent Korean composers of the twentieth century. He is primarily known for his works that incorporate aspects of traditional Korean music. However, at the same time, his efforts in choral arrangements, especially of Korean folk tunes are highly acclaimed by professional choirs and conductors. The purpose of this study is to provide performance guidance on Heejo Kim's choral work, Bat-no-rae, by presenting his biographical background, discussing the use of traditional Korean rhythmic patterns (Jangdan) and modes, and the appropriate application of traditional ornamentations.

Canons rythmiques et pavages modulaires / Rhythmic canons and modular tilings

Caure, Hélianthe 24 June 2016 (has links)
This thesis is a contribution to the study of modulo p tiling. Many mathematical and computational tools were used for the study of rhythmic tiling canons. Recent research has mainly focused in finding tiling without inner periodicity, being called Vuza canons. Those canons are a constructive basis for all rhythmic tiling canons, however, they are really difficult to obtain. Best current method is a brut force exploration that, despite a few recent enhancements, is exponential. Many technics have been used, hoping to understand Vuza canons better or to generate them faster. Hence, this thesis presents a completely new way to study aperiodic tiling.

Takt och Otakt

Gahrton, Daniel January 2019 (has links)
The theme of the song Lonely Woman by Ornette Coleman and the song It’s Halloween by The Shaggs has something in common when it comes to how the different instruments relate rhythmically to each other. I would call it a musical quality that could be described as a feeling of ungraspability. I had this quality in focus during a process of listening to music, writing music and playing music. To describe the cause of this quality I felt the need to define two concepts I named 1) rubato structures; rhythmic structures that aren’t based on, nor establish a steady pulse, and 2) tempo structures; rhythmic structures that are based on and establishes a steady pulse. Throughout the project I identified the cause of the quality, to be combinations of rubato structures and tempo structures, however my understanding developed during the project to a more specific definition which was layers of rubato structures and tempo structures. In the 6 compositions that this project resulted in, I created a number of musical situations with my group, which all had these elements. When listed, these situations rather systematically go through ways of combining structures in regards to different parameters. When listened to, at least for me, several of them give rise to the feeling of ungraspability I had in focus. My attempts to describe and analyze the many inspiring examples stretching from Charles Ives to Swedish contemporary vocal folk music, helped me to develope tools for making music of my own, rather than resulting in some objective truth, or a system for describing and analyzing music that would work objectively. One thing I would consider objectively true, however, is that there are a lot of different ways of creating rhythmic complexity, where some ways are very tedious and difficult for the musicians. With rhythmic layers of rather simple structures, containing rubato structures, I can create rhythmic complexity beyond the quantifiable, just by putting the human impulses in control. Takt in Swedish could mean many things, such as beat, meter, bar, measure. Otakt is often used as a negative word to describe a failed attempt to play in time, but is also linguistically the negation of takt (thus meaning no beat, no meter, no bar, no measure). Takt och (and) Otakt is therefor a play with words, since otakt relates to things in this study that is embraced rather than avoided. /
Bilaga: CD
