Larsson Enhörning, Pamela, Ekström, Maria Dona January 2014 (has links)
Insamlad data analyserades med hjälp av Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). / Ronald McDonald House provides accommodation for families with hospitalized children where they can experience a home like environment while their children are getting hospital treatment. The aim of this study was to examine if there is a correlation between the length of stay and the parents’ satisfaction with the physical and psychosocial environment. The length of stay was divided into "less than three nights" or "more than three nights". The method used in the study was a comparative and quantitative questionnaire study. Consecutive selection was used to recruit participants. Thirty four parents participated who all stayed at Ronald McDonald House during the summer and autumn 2014. After internal dropouts, 27 parents remained of which 14 stayed less than three nights and 13 more than three nights. Data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).  The results showed a high rating by all participants on the physical environment at Ronald McDonald House. A majority of the participants also had a positive experience with regards to the psychosocial environment. No significant correlation between the length of stay and the parents’ satisfaction with the physical and psychosocial environment was found. O liberalismo abrangente de Ronald Dworkin / Ronald Dworkin\'s comprehensive liberalism

Furquim, Lilian de Toni 29 September 2010 (has links)
The present study discusses Ronald Dworkins comprehensive liberalism as an alternative to John Rawlspolitical liberalism. Dworkin construes liberalism as a continuous theory between ethics and morality, that is, without a separation between comprehensive doctrines and our political conceptions so as to justify constitutional grounds, thus respecting the reasonable pluralism existing in democratic society. Comprehensive liberalism presents itself as a liberal theory in which freedom, equality and community merge into a single political ideal.

Racionalidade jurídica e objetividade: a tese da resposta correta de Ronald Dworkin / Legal rationality and objectivity: Ronald Dworkin\'s right answer thesis

Barbosa, Igor Assagra Rodrigues 17 October 2017 (has links)
When judging concrete cases, judges consult and interpret several sources of law in order to determine what are the relevant legal elements of decision and how they apply to a certain case, presenting the arguments that support their conviction and revealing a respective legal rationality. In the present work, we intend to face the following issue: can the law be objective in the sense that there is a legal rationality capable of providing a single right answer to a particular case? Regarding the wider problem of the existence of objectively right answers in law, the research uses an authorial restriction in order to establish it\'s referential. The interest was to collaborate with the study of Ronald Dworkin\'s thought, which contains the one legal right answer thesis. To do so, we seek to explore the author\'s arguments from a bibliographical survey of published materials in print and digital media. After pointing out some of the elements of Hart\'s positivist theory of law that functioned as an initial point for the criticism of dworkinian\'s perspective, Dworkin\'s right answer thesis, that is its work\'s object, is divided in two phases, taking the text Objectivity and truth: you\'d better believe it (1996) as a division mark. The first of these phases shows us that the right answer thesis in legal scope is based on the author\'s conception about law being an essentially interpretative practice, oriented to identify the values that best justify the institutional and moral community history. Therefore, the right answer from a legal point of view depends on the right answer from the moral point of view. In the second phase, it investigates Dworkin\'s defense of different external skepticisms about moral objectivity, as well as his ideas about the metaphysical independence of the value and in favor of an integrated moral epistemology. At the end of each phase chapters, critical notions are introduced with the purpose of exercising the reflection about the author\'s presented thoughts.

Rabb, Mikaela, Ågren, Anna January 2014 (has links)
Abstract Background: Families with sick children are expressing the needs of accommodation near the hospital, in order to be close to their children and be together as a family. Aim: To investigate how parents experienced the hospitality and the environment at the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) in Uppsala and how they feel their children have experienced the stay. Method: Descriptive qualitative interview study. Five parents who lived with their family at RMH between 2013- 2014 have been interviewed with a semi-structured approach. A qualitative content analysis with an inductive approach according to Graneheim and Lundman (2003) was conducted on a manifest level. Results: RMH made the families’ situation easier. RMH met their needs of a homelike environment where they could be themselves; be together and maintain everyday routines. Respect and fellowship prevailed in the house. The families’ received support from RMH, both from other families and the staff. The staff was helpful and as fellow human beings and drew attention to all the children. RMH is a place where kids can play and have fun with other children. Staying at RMH made it more fun to go to the hospital. The kids developed when they lived with other families. The sick children were able to share experiences and strategies with children in similar situation. Conclusion: Parents at RMH experienced the environment and the hospitality at RMH as very positive. There's a need to expand the business because of demand exceeding supply. Rooms that relatives can rent for a couple of nights for an affordable sum would be appreciated.

The Role of Neo-Aristotelian Invention in Selected Speeches of Ronald Reagan

Jenkins, Ava W. (Ava Walker) 08 1900 (has links)
Using the Aristotelian concept of artistic proof, this thesis analyzes nine televised speeches presented by President Reagan from February 1981 through April 1983. Reagan skillfully utilizes only two modes of rhetorical proof--ethos and pathos. However, his lack of logical proof has not lessened his effectiveness. This study reveals several reasons for Reagan's rhetorical effectiveness and success. For example, Reagan's strong ethical image and personality comfort his audience and encourage their trust. His weaknesses in logical argument are overlooked by his audience because of his high personal appeal. Furthermore, Reagan's use of pathos appeals makes Americans feel good about themselves and their country, helping him to maintain his popularity. Finally, Reagan's skillful use of the television medium has increased his effectiveness.

Postmaterialismens motståndare (?) : En kvantitativ studie om sverigedemokratiska sympatisörer

Stuart, Gabriella January 2017 (has links)
