KVASNIČKOVÁ, Simona January 2011 (has links)
This thesis adverts to an educational problems of parents, how do they perceive manner and content of information presented, how do they adapt to their child?s disease, what do they lack and what restricts them from satisfying their needs. Complex care for small patients suffering from musculoskeletal disorder should also encompass a degree of care towards parents. A nurse must, likewise, refer to their needs, knowledge, attitude, care about their mental condition, and provide them during the whole time with professional help and mental encouragement throughout coping with their difficult and demanding life situation, which the disease, the musculoskeletal disorder of their child, undoubtedly is. An outlook of nurses of this problem is also a part of this thesis.

Student nurses' experiences during clinical practice in the Limpopo Province

Mabuda, Bernard Tendani 01 1900 (has links)
Clinical learning experiences form an integral part of the student nurse's training, for it is in the clinical setting that students acquire the knowledge, skills and values necessary for professional practice. The purpose of this research was to explore student nurses experiences during clinical practice. A qualitative, exploratory, descriptive and contextual design was utilised, employing the phenomenological method. Unstructured interviews were conducted with student nurses in their final year of the four year nursing programme at a nursing college campus in the Limpopo Province. Tesch's method of data analysis was used. The findings indicate that there are aspects which impact negatively on student nurses' clinical learning experiences, such as lack of teaching and learning support, lack of opportunities for learning, poor theory-practice integration, and poor interpersonal relationships between the students, college tutors and ward staff. Recommendations to enhance the clinical learning experiences of student nurses were made. / Health Studies / M.A. (Health Studies)

Being a sister on the tragic stage : Electra in Athens in the Vth century and in modern Europa (1525-1830)

Saint Martin, Marie 15 October 2011 (has links)
When adapting a myth to theatre, the plot from the original antique tradition is often largely modified to suit the audience’s mentality of the time, especially as far as the reprensentation of the family ties is concerned. Perhaps because it proposes a model which is complicated even for ancient Greeks to accept (that of a son killing his mother)The Electra myth has had a difficult transmission through the ages. The rare occurences of Electra in the XVIIth century, and the necessary innovations that playwriters had to invent to adapt the subject during the second half of the XVIIIth century confirm those difficulties. As a sister, Electra’s character is deeply modified. Even if she remains attached to an ideal of family unity, this reunion now includes the mother, which implies a totally different view of the matricide in the original text. Although the young woman’s reactions are sometimes difficult to understand, from a legal and social point of view they can be linked to the norms to which they obey, even when they seem to break them. The Electra myth is at its most dynamic time in Europe when a new interest in familial relationships is growing. In tragedy, there is a noticible transition between plays in the XVIIth century where the role of the sister is widely unspecialized, to plays in the XIXth century where the sister character is recognised for its rich relationship with the brother. Intrigues dedicated to Electra stress the relationship between the brother and sister: that specificity helps to explain why this antique fable is so popular at the very same time as the drame bourgeois.

Ice Cream, You Scream

Reuter, Erik Shaun 05 August 2010 (has links)
I set out to make a lighthearted comedy punctuated with some scary moments. I wanted this story to come from a seven-year-old girl's point of view and match fantastic visuals with equally fantastic sounds. I will discuss the entire creative process in this book such as preproduction, writing, direction, cinematography, editing, and the sound design process, as well as many of my own personal experiences on this set and in my life. I have included the influence of unbiased audience members to determine whether or not I was successful in making a competent movie. This entire process, including all of the work done, rests entirely on my audience. I have done my best to include both people who are affluent in film production, as well as those who are not.

No. of bitstreams: 1 CRE - Miriam Verri Garcia.pdf: 2220795 bytes, checksum: d78cc8f10701099f8bb9038f624292f0 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2006-11-17 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The main focus of this essay is religious women living in cloisters trying to identify the reasons why they have chosen this type of life. Based on the premises that these women freely decide to live in cloisters, a deep analysis of the social context and the role they play in this context is done. Through these women s lives we can observe certain elements that may indicate the reasons for their choices. The research work was developed in Ordem das Carmelitas Descalças monastery in São Paulo s countryside aiming at finding records about the essay s subject. Through the life report of five lady monks plus a questionnaire focusing on indications of the social-economic level of the monastery population it was possible to better understand the life style of the monastery. The results seem to indicate important reasons related to their family biodata, as well as a possible lack of life perspectives of these women as fundamental elements of their choices. Besides that the essay leads to the need of further investigation focusing on different aspects of life in cloisters and its relationship with society / O presente estudo aborda a vida religiosa feminina em clausura no Brasil e procura identificar elementos que motivam, ainda hoje, mulheres a escolher esse estilo de vida.

La germanité au prisme des troubles autistiques / Siblingship through the prism of autistic disorders

Hernandez, Mylène 24 November 2017 (has links)
Siblingship in Europe is a minor part of social studies. Until recently, the subject was overshadowed by alliance and filiation. However, siblingship theoretically represents the lengthiest relation of kin throughout one’s life. It is also immutable and plays a part in the definition of the individual. As a corollary to this apparent indifference, the study of Western siblingship does not constitute a field per se. No unity of theory and methodology exists to bring together the existing research on brothers and sisters. This dissertation, therefore, has two inseparable objectives: to contribute to the definition of an anthropology of siblingship, with an ethnographic analysis of siblingship in contemporary France seen through the prism of autistic spectrum disorders. Two preliminary stages have influenced the implementation of the first objective: (1) understanding how social studies –especially anthropology, law and sociology– have engaged with the topic of brothers and sisters to (2) creating the methodological conditions of an anthropological approach of siblingship. The first two parts of this dissertation deal foremost with these stages. The second objective –understanding siblingship in practice– developed from this hypothesis: the presence of an individual displaying autistic disorders among a group of siblings offered a prism through which the norms and practices of contemporary siblingship could be observed. The third part presents and compares a body of case studies developed during an empirical survey involving interviews and observations. Unlike filiation and alliance, the law does not clearly outline siblingship. There are no legal mutual requirements between siblings. However, forms of moral obligations are undeniably expressed and manifested between siblings, particularly in situations of vulnerability or dependence. This dissertation undertakes a description of the intricate workings of moral obligation within siblingship. It reveals the contradictions upon which siblingship relationships are based in French contemporary kinship and documents how these contradictions are expressed in practice and in emotion in the ordinary exercise of siblingship in the presence of a dependent sibling.

This work aims to unfold paths undertaken by some Judaeo-Christian myths, that is, mythical structures, which corroborated the construction of new myths, such as those of Percival’s sister and Solomon’s wife – characters of A demanda do Santo Graal (1995), Portuguese translation from the 15th century, copy of a French sample from the 18th century. In this trajectory, it is essential to consider, besides the biblical scripture, some apocryphal manuscripts which lend literary elements of feminine prominence and humility to the matter of Britain. This character, for example, was scarcely referred in the Portuguese Demand; therefore it is essential that La queste del Saint Graal (1923), present in Vulgata, be consulted for the purpose of studying the narrative of Solomon’s wife. Thus, according to the Judaeo-Christian tradition one can attest that the elements borrowed from it, still echo in discourses, which sometimes vilify and sometimes defend women, making them exemplary and heroic feminine figures, despite carrying the heavy burden of anti feminine tradition. Such misogynous burden is noticed in the narratives that aim at legitimating the Grail’s hero lineage, taking the Hebrew kings from the biblical tradition as ancestors. It is from this androcentric nucleus that heroic feminine narratives will emerge, softening the bitterness against women, in the moment heroes find themselves in abulia in face of the unknown. For this purpose, the dissertation carries out an analytical study of the referred literary pieces, following the methodological procedures of bibliographic, qualitative research, identifying the literary, sociological, historical and cultural perspectives. It tried to unveil the paths taken by the characters Percival’s sister and Solomon’s wife, along their mythical trajectory, compatible to the Judaeo- Christian tradition.
