La généralisation des acquis dans le domaine de l’agression sexuelle peut se subdiviser en deux volets, soit la généralisation qui se produit lors du traitement et celle suivant le retour dans la collectivité. Le modèle de traitement cognitivo-comportemental, basé sur les principes du risque, des besoins et de la réceptivité, permet une réduction significative des taux de récidive. Plus spécifiquement, les besoins criminogènes ciblés chez chacun des délinquants et le type de stratégies apprises en traitement peuvent influer sur le processus de généralisation des acquis. De la même façon, les caractéristiques propres à l’agresseur sexuel ont également un rôle à jouer. Lors de la libération, la considération et la mise en place de certaines mesures, telles que le plan de réinsertion sociale, les besoins sociaux et individuels, l’employabilité, le logement et la continuité thérapeutique importent afin de faciliter le maintien des acquis. Ainsi, le présent projet de maîtrise vise à mettre de l’avant une meilleure compréhension du phénomène de la généralisation des acquis chez quatre délinquants sexuels suivis dans la collectivité (Centre de psychiatrie légale de Montréal), à la suite d’un traitement d’un an complété à l’Institut Philippe-Pinel de Montréal. Dans le but de comprendre les facteurs pouvant favoriser ce processus, nous avons étudié la manière dont ces différents facteurs se sont présentés chez les délinquants sexuels à l’étude et l’impact lié à la présence ou à l’absence de ces variables. L’analyse clinique du matériel obtenu a démontré, d’une part, que la généralisation des acquis est facilitée lorsque l’ensemble des besoins criminogènes sont des cibles de traitement et que, d’autre part, le délinquant est en mesure d’appliquer des stratégies cognitivo-comportementales plutôt que des techniques purement cognitives. Par ailleurs, la présence d’impulsivité et de problèmes individuels non stabilisés peut nuire au processus. Finalement, il est ressorti que la généralisation des acquis est plus facilement atteignable lorsque les variables identifiées comme étant propices à une réinsertion sociale réussie sont présentes dans le quotidien des délinquants. / In the field of sexual aggression, the generalization of therapeutic gains can be divided in two sections: the generalization that occurs in the course of the treatment and the generalization that is made after the return in the community. It has been demonstrated that the Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment Model, based on the principles of the Risk-Needs-Reponsivity Model, has the greatest impact on recidivism level. To be more specific, target criminogenic needs specifics to the offender and the type of strategies learned in treatment can influence the process of generalization of therapeutic gains. In the same way, the characteristics of the sexual aggressor also have a role to play. When considering the release period, taking into account and implementing some measures, such as the plan of social reintegration, social and individual needs, employability, accommodation and continuity of treatment help to maintain therapeutic gains. Consequently, this project aims to contribute to a better understanding of the phenomenon of the generalization of therapeutic gains by styding four sexual offenders during a follow-up in the community (Centre de psychiatrie légale de Montréal), after they received a one-year treatment at the Institut Philippe-Pinel de Montréal. With the aim of understanding factors that can facilitate this process, we studied how these factors were expressed by the sex offenders and the difference the presence or the absence of these variables. The clinical analysis of the results suggest on one hand that the generalization of therapeutic gains is facilitated when all criminogenic needs are addressed during treatment, and on the other hand when the sex offender has the capacity to apply cognitive-behavioral strategies instead of purely cognitive techniques. Besides, the presence of impulsiveness and non-stabilized individual problems can spoil the process. Finally, it came out that the generalization of therapeutic gains is easier when variables identified as being favourable to a successful social reintegration are part of the everyday life of the offenders.

Levando-se em consideração que hoje no Brasi l não possuímos informações consistentes sobre a reincidência entre egressos penitenciários, que principalmente, sem qualquer fundamentação empírica, é identificada como alta no país, este estudo tem como objetivo central compreender como vêm funcionando os programas laborativos e educacionais no sistema penitenciário brasileiro; qual a percepção dos diversos agentes operadores da execução penal quanto aos programas de ressocialização; e qual o impacto efetivo da educação e do trabalho na ressocialização dos detentos. Pretende-se, com este estudo, perceber se realmente os programas de ressocialização de cunho educacional e laborativo interferem diretamente na reinserção social do apen ado, bem como qual o efetivo impacto na execução penal, além de sugestões de políticas públicas eficientes. / Taking into account that in Brazil we do not have reliable information about prison recidivism among those who left prison, which mainly without any empirical foundation, is identified as high in the country, this study aims at understanding how they come running the educational and industrial programs the Brazilian penitentiary system, the perception of the agents operators about the effective punishment implementation as well as the rehabilitation programs, and what the actual impact of education and work in the rehabilitation of the convicts. Then, this study really aims to perceive if the programs of educational and occupational re-socialization affect directly the social reintegration of the convict and what the effective impact on law enforcement, as well as suggestions for effective public policies.

encarceramento, além da descrição das Políticas Públicas de ressocialização no Sistema Prisional de Pernambuco. Este contexto serve de base para a compreensão das ações dos psicólogos, colhidas
em suas narrativas, procurando-se estabelecer um diálogo com as políticas vigentes. Conforme o Ministério do Trabalho e o Conselho Federal de Psicologia, essa área de atuação é o da Psicologia
Jurídica e não se resume à prática da avaliação psicológica, embora ainda seja hegemônica em todo o país. Os psicólogos, nesse contexto, deparam-se com demandas voltadas para a reintegração de
homens e mulheres à sociedade, o que lhes exige engajamento e contribuições da psicologia nas políticas do Estado para essa população. O trabalho de campo foi realizado em uma UP- Unidade
Prisional feminina e outra masculina; lançamos mão do método cartográfico, na medida em que este nos permite acompanhar o processo das experiências vividas, narradas pelos profissionais
participantes e a afetação da pesquisadora nesses contatos. Os resultados foram analisados a partir da hermenêutica compreensivista e no diálogo com a diversidade desse campo que é jurídico, é
social e é clínico. Concluímos que as ações desenvolvidas pelos psicólogos nessas UPs, quando possível, ocorrem em condições precárias, sem lugar digno tanto físico como subjetivo para a
ciência psicológica e são atravessadas pela precarização dos vínculos trabalhistas, as relações de poder marcadas pelas hierarquias jurídicas, a impotência diante das violências e violações de direitos fundamentais dos seres humanos. As contribuições exitosas são pontuais e se perdem na falta de um projeto integrado com outras áreas do saber e denunciam a falta de um projeto de ressocialização que contemple não somente as necessidades, mas, sobretudo, as expectativas dos apenados, da justiça e da sociedade. L’objectif de cette étude est de comprendre l’expérience des détenus autochtones en
détention et leurs points de vue face à la prise en charge carcérale. À cette fin, 16 entrevues
avec des Autochtones incarcérés dans trois prisons provinciales du Québec ont été
réalisées. Puis, nous avons analysé les entrevues à l’aide de la théorie du constructivisme
sociale de Berger et Luckmann (1966) et les théories post-colonialistes. Il ressort de ces
analyses que la prison s’inscrit comme une prolongation des politiques colonialistes
puisqu’elle reproduit à plusieurs niveaux les traumas antérieurs. Quant à la prise en charge
dans le système carcéral pour les détenus autochtones, elle est désirée, mais inadaptée. Les
Autochtones subissent, donc, de la discrimination en détention. / The objective of this study is to understand the experience of Aboriginal inmates in
detention and their views of the prison care system. To this end, sixteen interviews with
Aboriginal people incarcerated in three provincial prisons in Quebec were conducted. We
then analyzed the interviews using Berger and Luckmann's (1966) theory of social
constructivism and post-colonial theories. These analyzes show that prison is an extension
of colonialist policies since it reproduces previous traumas on several levels. As for care in
the prison system for Aboriginal prisoners, it is desired by them, but unsuitable. Aboriginal
people are therefore discriminated in detention.

The diploma thesis is focused on socio-pedagogical means of assistance to the homeless which is provided by social facilities in the Czech Republic in the process of their reintegration. The goal of the thesis is to ascertain, describe and analyse the possibilities of socio-pedagogical assistance to the homeless. The thesis has theoretical-empirical character. In the theoretical part, I concentrate on the topic of homelessness, public housing, system of assistance for the homeless where I mention two approaches of supported living: Housing Ready and Housing First. Other topics include social difficulties and social reintegration of the homeless, social pedagogy and socio-pedagogical means of assistance to the homeless where social rehabilitation, community work and social entrepreneurship belong. The empirical part is devoted to a research. With the usage of semi-structured interviews, this research examines which means of socio-pedagogical assistance to the homeless are used in the process of their social reintegration and how both parties reflect on its usefulness. The interviews were carried out by the clients of the facilities offering socio- pedagogical assistance and the workers who offer this assistance to them. Successful Social Reintegration in Urban Settings : What does it mean and what explains its variation?Rivera, Elina Francesca January 2022 (has links)
What does “success” mean for social reintegration of ex-combatants in urban settings? Although reintegration of former fighters has been at the center of academic and policy discourse for achieving peace, limited attention has been paid to unraveling how social reintegration processes occur and how they are impacted in urban contexts. This thesis studies the specific issue of successful social reintegration in urban contexts and asks why it evidences higher levels of success in some urban settings than others. Drawing on previous research on the impact of security conditions on reintegration processes, it argues that actual or suspected eroded security conditions, caused by the presence of organized armed groups as well as reintegrating ex-combatants whose former unit operated in the same host community, negatively impact levels of success of social reintegration in urban centers because they each increase levels of fear towards ex-combatants among community members. Through process tracing and structured focused comparison, this thesis assesses the explanatory power of the proposed hypotheses for the cases of Bogota and Medellin. Based on the yielded results, support for both hypotheses is identified. Nonetheless given the nuanced conceptualizations propose heiring, future research is called upon to further assess the explanatory power of the proposed models.

Ce projet de mémoire examine les perceptions et expériences d’une douzaine de personnes travaillant et/ou vivant sur une ferme de réinsertion pour les personnes contrevenantes. Après avoir participé pendant un mois aux activités de la ferme et nous être entretenu auprès de 12 personnes, nous avons exploré comment la ferme fonctionne, comment ses différentes composantes sont utilisées et comment l’intervention s’intègre avec le concept du désistement assisté. Nous avons trouvé qu’un lien unissait la ferme et la communauté environnante. Cependant, ce lien n’a pas encore été exploré par la littérature. En plus de promouvoir le maintien d’une abstinence de délit, le care farming, à travers le contact avec la communauté se place comme une intervention de choix en ce qui a trait aux pratiques soutenant la reconstruction identitaire et la réintégration des personnes judiciarisées. En effet, cette intervention, bien que permettant de multiples bienfaits, ne trouve son sens qu’à travers la collaboration avec le monde extérieur. / This dissertation project examines the perceptions and experiences of a dozen people working and/or living on a rehabilitation farm. After participating for a month in the farm's activities and interviewed 12 people we explored how the farm operates, how its various components are used, and how the intervention fits with the concept of assisted desistance. We found that there was a connection between the farm and the surrounding community. However, this connection has not yet been explored by the literature. In addition to promoting the maintenance of abstinence from crime, care farming, trough contact with the community, is an intervention of choice for practices that support the reconstruction of identity and the reintegration of offenders. Indeed, this intervention, while providing multiple benefits, only makes sense through collaboration with the outside world.

One of the fundamental objectives of the criminal justice system in any country is to punish, rehabilitate, deter, incapacitate and reintegrate offenders into communities. The main motive of punishment therefore is to transform criminals into responsible and law-abiding citizens. Parole is acknowledged as an internationally accepted mechanism that allows for the conditional release of offenders from correctional centres into the community and forms one of the most important components of the criminal justice system value chain. The release of the offenders on parole therefore, does not negate the objectives of punishment but entrenches them through setting conditions by which all parolees must abide by. In other words, all offenders released on parole are supervised at all times by parole officials within their communities to ensure that they comply with their conditions. It is for this function- to grant parole to offenders, that the parole boards have been established in different countries.
The Department of Correctional Services in South Africa has adopted the independent model of parole which provides for the parole boards that are headed by independent members from the public appointed by the Minister of Correctional Services. Parole is administered by the parole boards and has, as one of its main functions the release of offenders based on their eligibility. The absence of the performance management system for the parole board makes parole board decision making less transparent and government accountability difficult to establish. Performance management systems have been used to strengthen good governance. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the design of a model of performance management of the parole boards in the Department of Correctional Services in South Africa. / Penology / D.Litt. et Phil.
