I SKAFFERIET integrerar man forskning och produktion av VERTIKAL ODLING med SAMLINGSPLATSER för folket i SORUNDA. Anställda forskar om och håller utbildningar kring hur man effektivast kan odla HYDROPONISKT. Huset kan ses som en MASKIN där utformningen baserats på att MAXIMERA FÖRUTSÄTTNINGARNA för vertikal odling.  Huset är uppdelat i två delar. Ena delen är glasad och där sker den vertikala odlingen. Den andra delen är klädd i SOLPANELER och där finns samlingsplatserna. Odlingen är separerad från övriga huset av HYGIENSKÄL. Tanken är att plantorna ska få SOLLJUS från söder, och vid behov finns UV-LAMPOR under vintern eller vid behov.  Näringslösningen som växterna står i kommer från biomassa, vilken i sin tur kommer från restprodukter vid jordbruket i området.Växterna står i en NÄRINGSLÖSNING bestående av REGNVATTEN, som samlas från taket till en vattentank i huset, samt av BIOMASSA som kommer från spillprodukter från jordbruket i Sorunda.  Varorna som produceras kommer att gå direkt till den LOKALA COOP samt de två LOKALA RESTAURANGERNA som idag ännu inte använder några lokala matvaror. / In Skafferiet they integrate research and production of vertical farming with gathering places for the people living in Sorunda. Employees research about vertical farming and hold courses about how to grow fruits and vegetables hydroponically in the most efficient way. The house is divided into two parts. The first part has a glass facade and that is where the vertical farming takes place. The second part has a sunpanel facade and inside is where the gathering rooms are. The two parts are divided because of hygiene reasons since the crops are being sold in the supermarket, in the bottom floor and in the two local restaurants in Sorunda which today do not sell any locally produced products.  The idea is that the crops get sunlight from the south and during night and winter there are UV-lamps to cover the plants´ needs. The crops stand in a nutrient solution of rain water, that is being collected from the roof into water tanks, and of biomass from waste products from Sorunda agriculture.

Syftet med kandidatprojektet 2023 var att rita en hybrid byggnad för folket. Vi studenter fick fritt välja en plats inom Nynäshamns kommun. Inför projektet studerade vi olika folkets hus, men uppgiften i sig uppmuntrade oss att tänka utanför det klassiska folkets hus-programmet. Såtillvida innebar projektet mycket ansvar och frihet för oss studenter att själva analysera och delta i sociala, kulturella och ekologiska frågor.  Mitt förslag ligger i Sorunda, en mindre tätort i Nynäshamns kommun som kännetecknas av vidsträckta åkermarker och en gammal bygd med en medeltida kyrka som knutpunkt. Förslaget har jag valt att kalla Sub-Bas, då det är ett musikhus kombinerat med skyddsrum som är utformade enligt MSBs standard.  Den främsta anledningen till att jag valde att kombinera skyddsrum med olika musikaktiviteter var på grund av skyddsrummets ljudisolerande förmåga. Efter lite eftersökningar fick jag också veta att Sorunda saknade musikskola och den närmsta låg i Nynäshamn 20 kilometer bort.  Jag fick idén att rita skyddsrum på grund av det nuvarande oroliga läget med flera krig runt om i världen. Mitt huvudsakliga mål var att rita ett hus för folket som fungerar både i fredstid och krigstid. Generellt är skyddsrummen i Sverige belägna i källare i flerbostadshus och används som förråd av de boende. Vem som helst ska kunna söka skydd i skyddsrummen, oavsett vart man bor eller om man har svenskt medborgarskap eller inte. Men eftersom dessa utrymmen i fredstid tillhör de boende kan utomstående känna sig ovälkomna och obekanta med skyddsrummen. Men i mitt förslag är syftet att skyddsrummen i fredstid ska användas av allmänheten, och förhoppningsvis kan alla känna tillhörighet till och vara välbekanta med skyddsrummen även i krigstid. / The criteria for the 2023 bachelor degree project was to design a hybrid house for the people. The site was free of choice within Nynäshamn municipality. For references we studied people's houses around the world, but the project itself was supposed to be open for interpretations beyond the traditional people's houses. Therefore the project gave us as students a lot of freedom and responsibility to research and engage in social, cultural and environmental issues.  For my proposal I chose a site located in Sorunda, a smaller locality in Nynäshamn municipality. Sorunda is characterized by its surrounding fields and the medieval church. My proposal is called Sub-Bas (eng. Sub-Bass) as it is a music centre combined with bomb/fallout shelters according to the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency's requirements.  One of the reasons why I chose to combine the bomb shelters with music activity was because the bomb shelter's structure is sound proof. Through research I also saw a need for more music spaces in Sorunda, as the closest music school is located in Nynäshamn city 20 kilometers away.  The idea to design bomb shelters for the people was highly influenced by the ongoing wars around the world. My main goal was to design a house for the people in peacetime as well as wartime. Typically most bomb shelters in Sweden are located in the basements of apartment buildings. The bomb shelters are supposed to be for anyone, regardless of where you live and your nationality. But because these spaces in peacetime already belong to the habitants of the apartments, it might make other people feel not welcomed or unfamiliar with the bomb shelters. But in my proposal the bomb shelters are open to the public in peacetime as well, and therefore I hope it can create a sense of belonging and familiarity even in wartime.

Projektet är syftar till att bygga en ny hybridbyggnad innehållandes en brandstation i Sorunda i Nynäshamns kommun med förbättrade förutsättningar för en effektivare verksamhet, samt ökad kvalitet på tillvaron mellan utryckningar, med bland annat en idrottshall, ett gym, ett café, samt en större boendedel i brandstationen. Projektet ämnar även att framhäva den centrala plats i orten brandstation befinner sig på, precis mellan den historiskt viktigaste mittpunkten, kyrkan, och den idag tydligaste mötesplatsen, Coopbutiken med apotek- post- och systembolagsombud, och verka som en samlingsplats i Sorunda, och bilda ett tydligt centrumstråk genom orten med tre tydliga institutioner. Den gemensamma delen av brandstationen som även kan brukas av ortens invånare består, förutom av gymmet, cafét, samt idrottshallen som fyller ett behov hos den närliggande skolan, även av gemensamma mötes- och festlokaler. / The project aims to construct a new hybrid building in Sorunda, located in northwestern Nynäshamn, with improved conditions for more efficient operations and an enhanced quality of life between emergencies. The building will house a fire station and include additional facilities such as a sports hall, a gym, a café, and a larger residential area within the fire station. The project also intends to emphasize the central location of the fire station in the community, situated between the historically significant focal point, the church, and the currently prominent meeting place, the Coop store with a pharmacy, postal services, and other important services. The fire station aims to serve as a gathering place in Sorunda, forming a clear central axis through the community with three emphasized institutions. The communal part of the hybrid programme, which can also be utilized by the local residents, consists of communal meeting and event spaces, in addition to the gym, café, and sports hall, which also address the needs of the nearby school.

Byggnaden är tillverkad i betong men kommer att finnas på platsen så länge du kan minnas. Dessutom är byggnadens konstruktion och uttryck en del av dess reproduktion eftersom den har en växtfasad med odlingar som kan användas i matproduktionen samt bidra till den biologiska mångfalden. Permakulturen gynnar växt- och djurlivet då djur och växter integreras och det skapas en stor variation av grödor. Dessutom skapar det ett resilient system. / Sorunda's specialities is a place where you can learn about permaculture - a cultivation principle that generates a closed cycle of water, nitrogen and other nutrients - see how grain and dairy products are produced or visit the cafe or restaurant with food based on ingredients that have been produced and produced in Sorunda. Here you can also be part of the baking that goes on in the bakery or greet the animals in the stables. This is a gathering place for the people where workshops and other educational events are organized. This is a place that promotes Sorunda's specialties - cultivation and food production. The building is made of concrete but will be on the site for as long as you can remember. In addition, the construction and expression of the building is part of its reproduction as it has a plant facade with crops that can be used in food production and contribute to biodiversity. Permaculture benefits plant and animal life as animals and plants are integrated and a large variety of crops is created. In addition, it creates a resilient system.

Projektet utforskar rådande maktbalans mellan staden och landsbygden, och riktar kritik åt den dominerande urbana normen. Ur en sarkastisk vinkel implementeras kasinot som medel för landsbygden att hävda sig mot staden i en värld styrd av kapital. Kasinot används som en symbol för den kapitaldrivna och ofta moraliskt ifrågasättbara världsutvecklingen, och genom denna allusion söker projektet ifrågasätta i vilken utsträckning målet om tillväxt kan tillåtas helga de allt mer extrema medel som används för att nå dit. Projektets tematik utvecklades som ett svar på det av skolan ställda kravet att rita en hybridbyggnad innehållandes ett folkets hus och ett egenvalt plusprogram omfattande totalt 2000 kvadratmeter på landsbygden i Nynäshamns kommun. Då den största delen av produktraffineringen som tidigare skedde i Sorunda, där projektet tar plats, har tvingats lägga ner på grund av centralisering uppstod en svårighet att finna ett trovärdigt plusprogram som kunde ge skäl för ett folkets hus. Då orten dessutom drabbas kraftigt av av den ökade lastbilstrafiken som Stockholm stads omläggning av Frihamnen till Nynäshamn har gett upphov till kom frågan om urban norm att hamna i fokus, och projektet att kretsa kring landsbygdens möjligheter att parasitera på samma maktförhållanden som den förtrycks av. / This project explores the current power dynamic between urban and rural, and aims to critique the domineering urban norm. From a sarcastic point of view the casino is implemented as a means for the countryside to assert power over the city in a world ruled by capital. The casino is used as a symbol for the capital-driven and often morally questionable world development. Through this allusion the project seeks to question to what extent the goal of growth should be allowed to justify the ever more extreme means used to achieve this end. The thematic of the project was developed as an answer to the schools requirement to design a hybrid building containing a peoples house and a self chosen plus-programme to an extent of 2000 metres squared in Nynäshamn municipality. As most of the product refinement that used to exist in Sorunda, where the project takes place, har been forced to shut down due to centralisation there was an issue with finding a feasible plus-programme that could support the peoples house-function. Further, as the region has been heavily affected by the increasing heavy traffic caused by Stockholm Stads relocation of Frihamnen to Nynäshamn, the question of urban norm came into focus, and the project was oriented towards the possibility for the countryside to parasitize on the same power structures that oppress it.
