A qualitative study of how primary teachers work with reading and writing difficulties

Wäring, Carolina January 2018 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to investigate how primary school teachers in grades 2 and 3 work with pupils with reading and writing difficulties, and what resources primary school can provide to assist these students. To answer this purpose, I conducted a qualitative interview method, the performance map. This is a tool that creates a broader understanding of respondents. The answers will be more profound and the interviewer will be a better listener. I have interviewed four primary school teachers from grade 2 and 3, as well as a principal, all from the same primary school. The results of this study indicate that the teacher`s competence, reading and writing methods and school resources are of great importance when working with students who has reading and writing difficulties.

Vorálková, Jitka January 2014 (has links)
Title: The Gymnastics objects analysis in preparation of physical education teachers with focus on Artistic gymnastics. Thesis objective This thesis was aimed to determine the content of Artistic gymnastics as a part of physical education teaching study programme. To achieve the primary objective two other sub-objectives were established. These were examined in two research phases: 1. the school documentation analysis in respect of: a) objectives, results and contents of Artistic gymnastics study plans b) distribution of individual Gymnastics objects (Artistic gymnastics in particular) and their frequency in a lesson plan 2. to learn and define requirements posed upon the personality of a high school physical education teacher. Methods The research continued in two phases. The first phase was to analyse the school documentation and explore the focus on contents of Artistic gymnastics study plans, its range and required results. To find the answer on relevance and necessity of particular competences of Artistic gymnastics graduates the repertory grid method was used in the second phase of research. The repertory grid provided large quantity of information questioning a group of 15 experts divided in three sub-groups based on their experience with gymnastics teaching. Results With respect to...

Förskollärares dilemma med bemötande och inkludering i förskolan : En kvalitativ studie om inkludering och bemötande av barn med intellektuell funktionsnedsättning i förskolan / Preschool teachers' dilemma with treatment and inclusion in preschool : A qualitative study on the inclusion and treatment of children with intellectual disabilities in preschool

Eriksson, Julia, Myckelberg, Tuva January 2023 (has links)

Zážitkové a reflektivní metody ve výuce a jejich přínos pro učitele a žáky / Experience and reflective teaching methods and its benefit for the teacher and pupils

Diviš, Václav January 2020 (has links)
The aim of the work is to improve the quality of teaching. The work points to the possibility of using action teacher research in an effort to implement innovations in the field of teaching methods for younger school age students and at the same time the development of their own professional competencies. It justifies the contribution of activating experiential and reflective methods for pupils in integrating the goals of the curriculum in the field of social science topics and the goals of personal and social education. The theoretical part maps the professional background of closely related topics such as teacher professional competencies, development of primary school teachers, innovative teaching methods, personality concepts, activation methods, experiential learning, experiential pedagogy, action teacher research, reflection and self-reflection. It also maps the background for experiential and reflective methods with support on the Framework Educational Program for Basic Education. The practical part describes the whole action teacher research. It captures in two ways the self- reflective characteristics of a teacher at the beginning of action teacher research, previous experience with the researcher's experiential and reflective methods, and a scheme of action teacher action research....

Factors influencing the choice of physical science at secondary schools in the Northern Province

Nukeri, Happy Jabulani 06 1900 (has links)
This study investigates variables that influence choice of Physical Science as a secondary school subject. The variables are pupil, home environment, teacher and school environment. A questionnaire was administered to 849 grade 9 pupils. The following findings are recorded: The better pupils achieve in Science the more likely that they will further their studies in Science. If pupils have positive self-concepts, beliefs about, attitudes and interest in Science and enjoyed Science at primary school they are inclined to choose Science as a subject. Pupils who choose Science view it as a valuable subject for daily life, have parents who evaluate Science favourably and come from better socio-economic backgrounds than those who do not choose Science. These pupils also view the attitudes, personalities, competencies and methods of assessment of their Science teachers positively. Finally, they perceive the Science curricula and textbooks as beneficial. / Psychology of Education / M. Ed. (Psychology of Education)
