Tecknade serier i undervisningen : Fördelar och nackdelar samt hur tecknade serier kan användas i undervisningen / Comics in teaching : - advantages and disadvantages and how comics can be used in teachingSandström, Jessica, Larsson, Paloma January 2018 (has links)
Comics in teaching – advantages and disadvantages and how comics can be used in teaching The aim of this study was to find out through a questionnaire survey how and why teachers in the locality choose to use comic strips in their teaching, or why they choose not to use comics. Another aim was to investigate how comics can be used in teaching pupils in grades 1–3 by testing this as a teaching point. The results show that pupils and also some teachers are favourably disposed to the use of comics in teaching. The pupils would like to work more with this in school. Comics have a positive effect on the pupils’ involvement and motivation, judging by what was seen during the trial use of cartoons in teaching. Giving the pupils a free hand to create a comic strip of their own moreover allows them to use their own imagination and develop their creative skills.

Fyrkantsfaktorn - En textanalys om seriepedagogikOredsson, Hannah January 2010 (has links)
Nyckelord: Tecknade serier, Bernadotte, Multimodal textanalys,

"Allt som kan väcka någons läslust är bra" : En enkätstudie om läsfrämjande arbete med tecknade serier och ungdomar / "Everything that can evoke someone's love of reading is good" : A questionnaire study on reading promotion with graphic novels and youthsBacklund, Amanda January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this thesis can be split up into three parts. First, to examine if public libraries in Sweden provide a selection of comic books and graphic novels suitable for youths. Second, to seek out how many of those libraries use comic books and graphic novels in their literature promotion with youths. Third, to investigate if there are any connections and similarities between the libraries that do. Also, a hypothesis proclaiming that most libraries do have comic book departments designed for youths and that libraries in big cities use comic books in literature promotion more often than libraries in small cities, is tested in the study. The results are based on a survey that was distributed to 290 libraries, out of which 192 responded. The results indicate that most libraries have youth departments and departments for comic books but that a small majority, mostly in larger cities, have a comic book department designed to be interesting for youths. A majority of the libraries surveyed have used comic books in some sort of literature promoting activity but there is a clear distinction between libraries in larger cities and libraries in smaller cities where the big city libraries were more likely to have used comic books in their literature promotion. Most of the connections and similarities between libraries working with comic books are connected to the population of the city in which the library is located and with the library's work for youths in general.

Facklitterära tecknade serier på folkbibliotek / Nonfiction graphic novels in public librariesCoccomo, Jennifer, Sandberg, Josefin January 2014 (has links)
The purpose of this Bachelor's thesis is to study the reasoning behind classification, cataloging and shelf arrangement of nonfiction graphic novels in public libraries. The aim was to examine which aspects of accessibility influence in which collection nonfiction graphic novels are placed. With qualitative semi-structured interviews we learned how six librarians motivated their choices concerning nonfiction graphic novels. We also interviewed a cataloger from Bibliotekstjänst to examine how nonfiction graphic novels are classified. In our analysis we compared our results to theories and practices concerning alternative shelf arrangements in libraries and legitimization of graphic novels. We found three types of shelf arrangements for nonfiction graphic novels: graphic novel shelf, nonfiction classification code and a mix of the two. The reasoning behind these placements can be described in three themes: user perspective, library perspective or document perspective. The arrangements and themes are influenced by which users the librarians believe to be reading nonfiction graphic novels and which type of subject the document concerns. Our results showed that according to the cataloger the subject of a nonfiction graphic novel is classified by the text and not by drawings, which are seen as difficult to discern as nonfiction. An important aspect of cataloging is that the document is searchable, and in order to search nonfiction graphic novels by both subject matter and format a notation for graphic novels has been added. However it is possible that an advanced search is necessary, which can be difficult for inexperienced users. / Program: Bibliotekarie

Manga på folkbiblioteket? : Sju folkbibliotekarier intervjuas om sin syn på manga. / Manga in the public library? : Seven interviews with public librarians about how they look at manga.Andersson, Charlotte January 2007 (has links)
The aim of this Master’s thesis is to examine seven public librarians’ attitudes towards manga as a new kind of literature in public libraries. Manga is an art form, originally from Japan, but in recent years manga has become very popular in the Western societies. The main issue of this thesis is how the librarians’ look at manga and what they think about manga. In this thesis I also discuss to what extension the public libraries in this study have manga in their collections, what the librarians think that public libraries today should offer their visitors and what is important to discuss when the librarians purchase books and other new media to the library. In order to answer these questions I conducted interviews with seven public librarians in children and youth departments in five public libraries in the north of Sweden. This study shows that the librarians are positive in their attitudes towards manga. Their opinion is that the public libraries could offer manga, but they think that quality is very important and they will be sure about the top-quality in the manga they offer. The librarians’ main opinion is that their lack of knowledge in manga is a problem. In this thesis I use Herbert J. Gans theory about taste cultures and taste publics and my conclusion is that there is a relation between the librarians’ knowledge and to which taste culture they belong. / Uppsatsnivå: D

”Seriously seeking comics” : Ämnesbestämning, klassifikation och indexering av tecknade serier / “Seriously seeking comics” : Subject determination, classification and indexing of comicsÅberg, Sofie January 2007 (has links)
The purpose of this master’s thesis is to examine how comics, here defined as a combination of text and images, are handled by the libraries in regards to subject analysis, classification and indexing. A comparative approach has been used in this study. First, common practices, methods and theories concerning subject analysis developed for documents consisting of text or images are presented. Then the current systems at two special libraries, specializing in comics and consequently dealing with both text and images, are examined and related to the above mentioned practices, in order to discover differences and similarities. The results indicate that practices, methods and theories developed for documents consisting of text or images are applicable on comics as well. The two examined special libraries had both developed their own classification systems and lists of subject headings, to accommodate the special needs of their particular type of documents consisting of text and images, but these were based on similar principles as practices and methods developed for text or images. Also discussed here is that comics appear to lack general acceptance as a form of literature in the larger library sector. Special libraries dedicated to comics often develop their own in-house systems, while general libraries tend to overlook the special attention this type of documents need. As a result, and unless comics receive the same considerations as text and image separately, they may become more obscure as a genre within general libraries. / Uppsatsnivå: D

”Den är för tjejer och den för killar” : en studie av åtta 12-åriga pojkars och flickors serieläsning / “That one is for girls and that one for boys” : a study of eight 12-year old boys and girls comic book readingMachado, Marta, Sahlberg, Taija January 2008 (has links)
The aim of this study is to examine the opinions of eight 12-year old boys and girls about two comics; Sabrina – tonårshäxan (Sabrina – teenage witch) and Spiderman. Do children see gender differences in the two comics? Do boys and girls identify with the heroes in the comics and does this affect the children's own gender socialisation. We interviewed four boys and four girls from different parts of Sweden. One or two days prior to the interview, the children were given the two comics and asked to read them. As a theoretical framework we used ideas and concepts from different areas - with focus on socialisation. Key concepts used in the analysis are gender identity, gender role identity, childhood, gender socialisation, identification and idols. The analysis showed that most of the Children had similar opinions, such as thinking that the comics showed stereotypes and that Spiderman could not possibly be a woman. The interviewed children were well aware of gender and the expectations for women/men and were affected by the comics they read. Children are, of course, active in their own gender socialization and they are influenced by their environment and what is represented as masculine and feminine. / Uppsatsnivå: D
