Silva, Igor Fangueiro da January 2014 (has links)
Who looks after the ones that look after the others? This question/inconvenience nourished this research, which is focused on understanding the strategies adopted by the workers of Primary Care to look after themselves. To reach the research objectives, understanding the several (political, historical, social,…) mechanisms that may exist about caring, three conceptual chapters were created to support theoretically the hypothesis: Propositions for the health professionals look after themselves: The National Policy of Humanization of the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS); The health of the person who works with health; The care, the self-care and the care for the self (subdivided in: The self, The self-care and the Care of the Self and “_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _”Taking Risks: Running away from risks on the heels of medicalization). This is a qualitative approach research which used semi structured interviews as methodology, which were performed with Primary Care professionals from Porto Alegre, evaluated by the content analysis proposed by Bardin (2011). After the interviews were transcribed, the answers were organized into five categories: Care: Shelter and listening (which reveals the worry professionals have with the listening and sheltering practices in the services); Walking between the self-care vigilant and the construction of the care of the self (revealing the two aspects of the care, when one is more imposing and the other is ruled by the shared construction with the user); Politics/Management/Workers: three simultaneous monologues (which shows the communication difficulty among these three structures); Making miracles in precarious conditions (which shows the poor structural conditions of the Primary Care); A worker trying to care for himself and the “daily suicides” (which reveals the ways workers care and the attempt to leave the workplace and forget the stress and all the day memories). At the end, it was also held the “Caring Feedback”, when the results were presented to many people and, besides, when there were care practices, like round of conversation, circular dances, breathing techniques etc. Looking after the self is also looking after the other, that is why it is essential that the workplace in health fosters this reflection, avoiding that the popular saying “No one is a prophet in their own land”, which inspired the title of this study, becomes something common in the reports of health professionals.

Bariéry multidisciplinární spolupráce v pobytových zařízeních pro seniory. Domovy pro seniory ve Středočeském kraji / Barriers of multidisciplinary cooperation in residential facilities for the seniors. Retirement homes in Central Bohemian Region

Kulíšková, Michaela January 2021 (has links)
This thesis deals with multidisciplinary cooperation in residential facilities for the elderly (so- called MTD). I'm going to focus on retirement houses. The theoretical part deals with old age, fundamental documents defining social rights and basic values in the care of the elderly. It also deals with cooperation team composition in retirement houses for the elderly, development phases, principles and barriers to the functioning of a multidisciplinary team. In the empirical part I deal with the description of the data collecting and analysing the results of questionnaire survey and interviews. The aim of my thesis is to find out with what barriers of multidisciplinary cooperation retirement houses deals with. In the practical part, I looked for obstacles affecting their functioning and also what would contribute to the creation of a team in a retirement house. The experiment of friendship: anarchist affinity in the wake of Michel Foucault

Evans, Julian 28 April 2016 (has links)
This thesis considers Michel Foucault’s understanding of friendship as a way of life and its relationship to anarchist models of affinity based organizing. I argue that Foucault’s interviews on friendship, his understanding of power structures as simultaneously individualizing and totalizing, and his notion of the care of the self all help us to rethink what friendship means today. Further, friendship can be a guide towards experimental and aesthetic forms of political resistance. Friendship for Foucault is not utopian, however, and I examine its use as a technique of police surveillance and intelligence gathering in the context of the G20 protests in Toronto in 2010. If friendship can play an important role in the regime of what Foucault termed governmentality, it can also be a site of struggle whereby an alternative vision for politics is elaborated. I argue that this has particular resonance with anarchism, and that while friendship has the danger to becoming an invisible form of power, anarchism responds to this by proposing a culture of solidarity. Overall, I argue that Foucault offers an original account of friendship that fundamentally shifts our understanding of the relationship between friendship and politics. / Graduate

Vigneault, Karine 04 1900 (has links)
Finalement, je me tourne vers l’ouvrage In Defense of Food. / This dissertation examines food and eating as a social discourse on “what to eat” that unfolds with a remarkable intensity within the current advanced liberal regime of government. More specifically, I propose to conceive of this intensity as participating of an investment of food and eating as a privileged site in the production of articulations of the ethics of the care of the self (ethical self-formation) and of a normative understanding of citizenship. This productivity is put forth by means of an “exemplification” of clusters of regularities in food and eating discourses that appear to be the most prominent in terms of their effects of citizenship. The first of these clusters is explored through an analysis of Jamie’s School Dinners, a campaign for a reform of the British school dinner system that I consider exemplary of discourses that are currently positing (a specific) food culture as an issue of cultural citizenship. I then look at some operations at play in Mettez le Québec dans votre assiette!, a social marketing campaign in favour of local food that, I contend, is exemplary of the contemporary production of “local eating” as an expression of trust and of patriotism toward a nation defined by its terroirs. I finally turn to Michael Pollan’s book In Defense of Food. An Eater’s Manifesto as an example of co-presence of the two clusters of regularities already discussed and a third one (“nutritionism”) that I regard as a rearticulation of the “duty to be well” put forth by nutritional science. This dissertation concludes on an examination of some of the effects of this co-presence and of the food citizenships that it informs. More specifically, I argue that these citizenships are pervaded by a politics of pleasure which works through anxiety (toward an uncertain future) and according to a generational logic which unfolds simultaneously in the space of the nation and in that of the family.

The Cartographic attention used as a methodology in this study, sets out to follow the daily life of care practices in harm reduction undertaken by a living center for drug users in social vulnerability in the city of São Paulo - Centro de Convivência É de Lei. The following activities were accompanied and observed in the Center: team meeting; assembly; Chá de Lírio; and video and hip hop workshops. During the activities, a team that produced ways of care was formed through participant observation and daily life conversations (in a way that all participants had a good neighborly relation). From these actions, it was possible to extract some clues for the analysis. It was also used as field analysis the notion of self care in Foucault, and we situated the emergency and the paths of health policies in regard to the use of psychoactive substances and the ways that harm reduction appears in it. Such practices, that we named as cuidar con-vivendo/con-viver cuidando (Care living together / live together care), constitute a certain precarious dimension and challenge, when harm reduction becomes a war machine, a narrow defile.

Santos, Vanice dos January 2012 (has links)
This Doctoral thesis seeks to address relationships between philosophy, beginning with the concepts of the care of the self and dialogue as well as distance learning processes. These affect relationships established between tutor and student in the pragmatic perspective of a reformed agent of the virtual environment: dialogues guided by the care of the self. In terms of norms, this research deals with philosophical tradition, platonic dialogues, and reaches the hermeneutics of the subject, embodying the contributions of hermeneutic phenomenology and studies by research teams at MIT - Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Furthermore, it reflects methodologically on the possibility of a dialogue established and guided by the care of the self, in the relationship tutor and student in virtual learning environments. Thus, the aim of this work is to provide understanding of this phenomenon which core is within the concept of digital, in the scenario established between tutor and student interactions, revisiting the characteristics of the relationship in place between master Socrates and disciple Alcibiades, based on a pragmatic hermeneutic of the subject. The role a master is hereby analyzed, bearing in mind the care of the self when working with a disciple. Therefore, the focus is to provide a dialogic analysis of the relationship between tutor and student conducted as per ontological-structural elements: the identification of verbal interactions between tutor and student; the analysis of the existing types of interaction; and the isolation of moments when the exchange process was not based on the care of the self. This study is also organized based on the case study of the Undergraduate Course in Pedagogy– distance learning Teaching Diploma (PEAD/UFRGS) and, besides being based on philosophical hermeneutic, has structured a theoretical referential for data analysis with the help of CHIC – Cohesive Hierarchical Implicative Classification. This research has reached the conclusion that the role of a master in distance learning requires that, prior to achieving such position, him/herself must be familiarized with such pathway concerning the care of the self. All in all, it shall reflect on and postulate the dialogue as one of the possible ways towards learning considering that within it we find the necessary vivacity in the oral expression and, as a result of that, the manifestation of Logos shared by the individual parties that compose a dialogue. This is closed with the idea that the recognition of the subjects in the digital agora may contribute towards education while paving such collaborative and participative pathways, allowing for the widening of the horizons of understanding. This intends to show that the exercise of sharing, the disposition for new and renewed quests which plays a role in the academic education and in recognizing that the formation of the individual embodies the establishment of a collective, collaborative and dialogic dialogue.

Miron, Alessandra Xavier January 2014 (has links)
This dissertation has stemmed from both a work experience in the field of Social Assistance and the research process as an experience, in an attempt to problematize Psychology practices in that context. Initially, it aims to bring visibility to the processes of construction of the discourse of Psychology Social Commitment, which is here understood as a knowledge dimension articulated with Unified Social Assistance System (SUAS) as a power device and has the production of subjectivities through practices of the self as one of its effects. Next, it presents reflections about the return to the academy and the knowledge production as a possible resistance strategy articulated by the “assistance psychological subject” facing the contemporary governmentality games which have become evident in this field. Finally, it points out both the care of the self favored by research as a means of transformation of the psychological practices at SUAS and, thus, the investment in the aesthetics of existence as a possible way for an action grounded on ethics in this field. In order to do that, different kinds of documents in which those practices were materialized, from technical guidance publications to dissertations and theses by psychologists working in Social Assistance, were examined. The methodological proposal of such studies involved genealogical and cartographic tools having the background of a reflection about possibilities of Social Psychology articulating strategies to produce lines of flight in a scenario ruled by the neoliberal reasoning and constituted by capitalistic ways of subjectivation. The dissertation writing is articulated with Frida Kahlo’s work, regarding her process of painting herself as a companion in the work to be undertaken in the experience-research.

Analisamos, também, a palavra experiência por meio de Jorge Larrosa, ao qual acreditamos ser possível uma possibilidade de abertura para pensarmos como o cuidado de si indicaria uma disposição ética do sujeito a si e aos outros / The objective of the present dissertation is to approach the debatable perspective taken by São Paulo State Secretariat of Education when choosing the theme ethics for its Philosophy workshops for children. In order to do so, it seems necessary to encounter an approach that leads to the consideration of the topic in the light of the Subject instead of the purposes established by formal education. The main aim of the study is to analyze the Workshop of Curricular Enrichment – Philosophy in the first stage of Brazilian Fundamental Education (i.e. students aged 6 to 10 years), seeking elements that hinder the accomplishment of these workshops in public schools in São Paulo state. Firstly, the concept of Education to which the project is affiliated is analyzed in order to understand the motivation behind the project‟s elaboration. The research‟s methodology consists of document analysis based on authors who specialize in Philosophy of Education. The study‟s corpus comprises the documents utilized in the philosophy workshops for children. The study proposes the conflation of the conception of Ethics presented on the documents with the concept of Care of the Self, as devised by Michel Foucault. The word experience was also analyzed as per Jorge Larrosa, offering a possibility to consider how the Care of the Self may indicate an ethical disposition of the Subject toward itself and toward others
