Utveckling av samarbetet mellan beställare, huvudentreprenör och underentreprenör / Development of the collaboration between the client, the contractor and the subcontractor

Österman, Stefanie, Alsawadi, Nour January 2015 (has links)
In the construction branch you often work with projects where multiple parties cooperate. It’s important that the collaboration between the parties works well to achieve a positive result. Our aim with this thesis is to study how cooperation works, can be improved and developed between client, contractors and subcontractors on a construction company. In order to develop the joint work, you have to examine the common problems and deficiencies that may arise.   The implementation has been done through interviews with selected partners in the projects studied in order to obtain as complete and accurate as possible of what works and where the strengths and weaknesses are. The projects with wide variation have been studied in this thesis in order to locate and verify the most common problems when collaborating.   Some of the most important aspects of positive cooperation is to have a good communication, smart planning before the project begin and a well-managed schedule. It’s also very important that all the parties know the meaning of their role and stick to their responsibility. It’s fundamental that Byggtech cares for the trust they have build with their clients as their business depends on a solid partnership with the contracted clients.   The conclusions that have been drawn from this thesis are that clarity, common guidelines and a good communication are important to have a good collaboration between all the parties in order to develop the collaboration in a positive course.

Chyad, Yousif, Ali, Khadija January 2019 (has links)
Planning of material handling in limited spaces has become more relevant in the construction industry and since material cannot always be delivered at the right time in the right place, a delay in the flow chain is created. Each construction site has unique conditions and thus different solutions. In this thesis, four workplaces at Peab have been visited and inspected. The purpose of the thesis was to explore the problems that arise with the logistics in a limited space and find solutions that can be implemented on future construction projects. The aim of the study was to find the common factors that exist for the workplaces within a small area and find ways of working that can change the planning and execution of logistics.Surveys to professional workers and interviews with site managers and supervisors contributed with information to the report. After compiling the thesis work, the result shows that there are opportunities to change the working method of the work management to increase efficiency and productivity. In the study, it appears that there is a lack of communication in the workplaces as a large number of workers do not know when the next delivery of material takes place. In addition, the professional workers admit that they did not have a great influence over the business. Recommended solutions that were developed in the study were experience feedback and further development of the APD plan.

BIM i produktionsplanering : Förutsättningar och ledarskap / BIM in production planning : Prerequisites and leadership

Martinsson, Mattias, Wennberg, Anders January 2018 (has links)
As a result of the AEC industry implementing and using BIM, new roles have been created to manage and lead the work. Research has shown that there are uncertainties regarding these roles, which tasks they should perform and which phases they will be involved in. BIM is generally used more during the design phase than the production phase, even though research shows that there are advantages if BIM is used throughout all phases. This study has investigated how the planning for production could make use of BIM, the conditions for implementation and the role that will manage the work. Based on an interview study, four areas of production planning: safety planning, site planning, time scheduling and calculation are examined. A scenario for each area and how these could be implemented with BIM is presented followed by a survey of the employees working on the matters and their thoughts and their attitude towards it. The case study shows that there are good conditions for using BIM in production planning as employees see great benefits and are positive about working with BIM. At the same time, it is noted that knowledge levels differentiate between the employees and between the areas, which can create an obstacle to the implementation. The BIM manager is considered important in all four areas. In the work with calculations, where employees show a higher experience and knowledge level of BIM than other areas, the role is considered to be needed as mostly technical support. In other areas, BIM managers are considered to take more part of the work process. They show that the BIM manager is considered to have extensive experience in construction. There is an uncertainty about the responsibility for the model in production planning where the BIM manager, site manager and design manager are all considered for the task. Based on the employees estimated commitment and competence, the study has presented different leadership styles with respect to the theory of situational leadership. This could be seen as guidance for the BIM manager. For the work with calculations, a delegating leadership style is recommended, for safety and site planning a coaching and supporting leadership style is recommended. For the work with time scheduling a more directing leadership style is recommended.

APD-Planering i 3D och 4D : En verkligare bild av byggarbetsplatsen / Site layout planning in 3D and 4D : A more true representation of the construction site

Lidberg, Samuel, Claeson, Gustav January 2024 (has links)
During the design phase, a construction site layout plan (CSL-plan) is developed, serving as an overview illustration of the construction site. This plan visualizes the buildings on site and indicates where, among other things such as material storage areas, transport routes, and site offices are located. Currently, 2D drawings are the most frequently used type of CSL-plans. Additional dimensions can be incorporated into an CSL-plan; this study examines the subsequent dimensions: volume (3D) and time (4D). The aim is to analyze the challenges, opportunities, and value that a 3D and 4D APD-plan can offer, and how knowledge and accessibility can be enhanced to encourage greater use of 3D and 4D CSL-planning. This study employs a qualitative approach with seven in-depth interviews. The results suggest that 3D and 4D CSL-planning using various software tools provides a clear, realistic representation of the construction site. This allows risks and errors to be identified at an early stage. Through simulation linked to the schedule, it also becomes an effective discussion framework for project planning. For successful implementation and continued use of 3D and 4D CSL-planning, organizations must create the right conditions by investing time and resources to build strong competencies that can establish an effective workflow with 3D and 4D CSL-planning.
