Therefore, we analyze the trajectories of a group of four companies entrepreneurs who has managed publicly recognized results in the state of Alagoas, highlighting the experiences along the way, since the establishment of business to its consolidation. A central question guided the thesis: considering the experiences of a group of social entrepreneurs, what can you learn about the process of developing their competence that allowed achieve social impact and financial sustainability? The narrative analysis was defined as research proposal. The narrative interviews were the primary data building strategy, followed by document analysis. The data were interpreted built from the proposed thematic analysis narrative Riessman (2008). Was taken as an object of study, the experiences of 13 social business founders of the state of Alagoas, two technology-based and two health. As a result, the experiences of entrepreneurs pointed to the flow that the constituent aspects of competence were mobilized in the context and changed their actions in a process as ways of being social entrepreneurs. Five core elements revealed in narratives constructed by the owners partners in telling the story of the construction and consolidation of the business, and how to develop competence that led to the public recognition and self financial sustainability, they are: direct contact owners partners with problems of social reality; the material and human conditions created by them; the process of seeing themselves as social entrepreneurs; the sharing of meanings and competence development. From the point of view of theoretical implications, which the constituents of the narratives show is that while the technology-based companies and health services are very different, they revealed a very similar flow in the process as ways of being competent. The way these entrepreneurs told their stories and explained the development of individual and collective competence reflects, above all, the construction and consolidation of their identity as social entrepreneurs. From the point of view of the practical implications, the flow identified with the core elements can serve as benchmarks for start-ups and developing self analyze their own trajectory, identifying advances in building a social business identity, collectively, to strengthen the competence of the business. From a methodological point of view, there is the use of narrative research as a methodological proposal. This option proved to be rich and interesting to qualitatively understand the phenomenon of the development of social competence in business, allowing reveal processes underlying the materialization of competences.

Znalosti žáků středních škol v oblasti vybraných zoonóz / Knowledge of Pupils Secondary School in the Area of Selected Zoonoses

Svobodová, Barbora January 2016 (has links)
The subject of the dissertation deals with the secondary school pupil's awareness of zoonoses. Zoonoses are the diseases transmited from animals to human beings. Those are one of the topics of biology study currently. The main aim of the dissertation is theoretical definition of the matter in the first place. For knowledge testing have been chosen these four illness: Toxoplasmosis, Lyme boreliossis, Rabies and Creuzfeldt-Jakobo disease. With these chosen illness the main research goal is to provide a comprehensive collection of information about the details such as disease transfer, spread of the disease, disease development, cure and avoidance. The research part of the dissertation tries to find out the extent of knowledge about the chosen kinds of zoonoses among the pupils at specialized secondary schools. As a tool of quantitative research has been used a pupil's didactic test. As based on the evaluated results we may say that the pupil's knowledge at explored schools is relatively satisfactory.

Giannozzi, Elena 28 March 2015 (has links)
The “vir bonus” is often mentioned in the sources. However, the “vir bonus” is not only an ethical ideal, but also a hermeneutic criterion that allows us to interpret and integrate the legal acts. This is the technical meaning given to it by the jurisconsults, at least starting from the II century a.C..The “vir bonus” should be replaced in the general context of Roman arbitration and distinguished from the “arbiter ex compromisso”. In particular, the “vir bonus” is used the field of obligation and inheritance rights. Therefore, it is used in bilateral as well as unilateral judiciary stores. At times, speaking of the “vir bonus” a third party is implied, called into question through the role and actions of a “vir bonus”; however, this third party often has an objective value. In this hypothesis, an honest man’s judgment (“arbitratus boni viri”) has an abstract value. Even though there is a link between the concepts of “vir bonus” and “bona fides”, the hermeneutic criterion of the “vir bonus” is also used in the actions that are “stricti iuris”. The use of the “arbitrates”“boni viri” allows judgment to be more flexible without questioning the “stricti iuris” nature of the action.

A comparative study of double tax agreements between South Africa, Mauritius and China

Van den Berg, Amandus 22 March 2012 (has links)
Mauritius has, in recent years, become one of the preferred financial centres owing to its business-friendly economy, preferential tax regime, wide tax treaty network and solid infrastructure. The Mauritian economy and people have greatly benefitted from the country’s success as a financial centre. One benefit offered by the Mauritian tax regime is the ability and ease with which a person can gain residency to access the preferential tax rates that the country offers. South Africa has recently re-introduced a headquarter tax regime, which will make it a competitor with Mauritius for channelling international trade and foreign direct investment. Previous research focuses on the elements of international taxation and highlights some of the benefits that a company could enjoy by using Mauritius as an offshore base. One of the key elements of a successful headquarter company regime is that of a wide tax treaty network which offers preferential terms for taxing certain income classes. The aim of this study is to provide a theoretical construct for the comparison of double tax agreements, with the goal of identifying those that provide preferential terms for the taxation of certain income classes and the elimination of double taxation. This study focuses on the double tax agreements between South Africa, Mauritius and China, highlighting some of the deficiencies of the South African agreement with China and comparing those with Mauritius’s agreement with China. These deficiencies and the preferential tax regime that Mauritius offers will inevitably provide multi-national companies with tax saving opportunities if they use Mauritius as an offshore base. This study will point out some of the areas where possible tax saving opportunities could be identified. The study further aims to provide a platform from which the South African headquarter company regime can be assessed and analysed. This is specifically important if South Africa is to compete with Mauritius. Copyright 2011, University of Pretoria. All rights reserved. Registered counsellors' perceptions of their role in the South African context / Marie Claire Michelle Rouillard

Rouillard, Marie Claire Michelle January 2013 (has links)
Registered counsellors were regarded as part of the solution to the ever-increasing void in mental healthcare and were acknowledged by the South African government over a decade ago. Some challenges have however arisen regarding the implementing of their vocations in the community, that impact service delivery as well as career satisfaction of registered counsellors, but limited information is available in terms of the exploration of the perceptions of registered counsellors regarding their role in the South African context. This study focused on exploring how registered counsellors perceive their role in South Africa and describing these perceptions. This research is important because little is known about the perceptions of registered counsellors and their experience of their role in the South African context. The research was conducted in Johannesburg and Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. 12 participants (one man and 11 women) volunteered to be part of the research. The size of the sample was not predetermined, but was rather based on data saturation. The participants were purposefully selected on the basis of having acquired the registration of registered counsellor with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). Data was collected through conducting semi-structured interviews with all the participants. An interview schedule was used to facilitate the interview process for consistency in the interviews. Thematic analysis was utilised to delineate different themes. To ensure the trustworthiness of the research process, the guidelines suggested by Lincoln and Guba (1985) were followed. The current researcher found that the registered counsellors experienced conflicting perceptions of their role in South Africa. They felt that their role was a necessary and important one in South Africa and in the context of the development of mental healthcare in South Africa. However, some negative feelings were also expressed as they experienced uncertainty regarding their role in the profession as well as the changing scope of practice for registered counsellors in South Africa. Additional negative perceptions were associated with a lack of acknowledgement of their role by other mental healthcare professionals and some ignorance from the public regarding the work of registered counsellors. To promote adequate mental healthcare in South Africa, mental health professionals such as registered counsellors are particularly important. But what appears to be the uncertainty and a lack of information related to the role of registered counsellors, has impacted negatively on their perception of their role in South Africa and, as a result, many individuals do not work in the professional mental healthcare field. It is recommended that the perception of the registered counsellors be acknowledged and taken into consideration to further the development of mental healthcare and treatment for mental health difficulties within the South African context.

Van Zijl, Barend Francois 11 1900 (has links)
The study can be typified as "a probing case study in comparing the policies of the most prominent political groupings (AKTUR, DTA, NNF and SWAPO-N) regarding a new society for South West Africa/Namibia". The paper consists of four chapters, namely a Theoretical Perspective, in order to orientate the readers regarding the specific problematics dealt with in the paper; a Relevant Historical Perspective, since the present political dispensation in South West Africa/Namibia is characterised by "dissension” that must be seen against the background of eight variables which worked in cumulatively on the territory over a period of a century; the Comparative Analysis of Specific Aspects of Policy, in which the degree of similarity and difference among specific policy trends of the four most prominent political groupings is examined; and an Evaluation, which is a synthetical summary of the preceding analysis especially in Chapter 111. / Political Sciences / M.A. (Internasionale Politiek)

Studente se belewenis van 'n hulpgroep in 'n eerstejaarsmodule in Finansiële Rekeningkunde.

De Jager, Eloise 03 1900 (has links)
Thesis (MPhil (Curriculum Studies))--University of Stellenbosch, 2010. / ENGLISH ABSTRACT: Background to the study: Due to the pressures that are being placed on the success of first year students at higher education institutions, a support group was established in a first year module, Financial Accounting, in the B.Accounting degree programme at the University of Stellenbosch. The support group is aimed at helping students, in particular previously disadvantaged first-year students, to achieve success in Financial Accounting. The support group has various features. There are, for example, 6 lectures per week instead of the normal 4 lectures and attendance of the lectures is compulsory. The size of the support group is limited to a maximum of 70 students in order to promote active learning. On Fridays there are tutorial classes where students work on a question in class with the help of student assistants. A variety of support programmes and help are offered annually to increase the pass rates of first year students and also to ensure a positive first year experience. The problem is that all this support and help is very time consuming and requires special inputs from lecturers and the department. This raises the question if it actually adds value. Another issue that was considered is how students experience being part of such a support group. It was thus necessary to investigate this as well as related questions to establish whether a support group meets the purpose for which it was created. Summary of the work: A case study design was used. The purpose of the study was to establish the experiences of the students of a support group at the first year module in Financial Accounting. A combination of qualitative and quantitative data was used in the study, generated by means of questionnaires, interviews and the analysis of performance marks. Conclusion: The overall conclusion that resulted from this study is that the support group is experienced positively by the students. Various implications and suggestions on how to improve the efficiency of the support group in Financial Accounting at the University of Stellenbosch were a direct result of this study. Suggestions for further research were also made.

Dullaart, Anna Gertruida January 2002 (has links)
Thesis (Ph.D. (Applied Language and Literary Studies))--Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education, 2002
