This report is the result of a thesis work carried out on the Risifrutti production at the company Procordia Food AB. The thesis is at a master level and is the final work for the author to receive a Master of Science in Innovative production at Mälardalen University. The thesis comprises 30 credits and has lasted for 18 weeks. The thesis is mainly a research on whether it is possible to perform an Environmental Value Stream Map (E-VSM) in a food processing industry and an evaluation if the tools E-VSM and Green Performance Map (GPM) are useful in this type of industry. An extra part to this research is to use the results from the E-VSM and give Procordia Food AB information on improvement potentials in the Risifrutti production. The author has found it difficult to collect some of the quantitative data to the E-VSM, mainly regarding energy, but by using the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) tool and other Lean tools the author was able to identify and quantify several wastes in the Risifrutti production. Recommendations for improvements based on these wastes have been given to the company. In the research part of this report the utility of the Value Stream Map, Environmental Value Stream Map and Green Performance Map in a food processing industry have been analyzed. The author has found that the Value Stream Map has been a useful tool since waste and unevenness in the tact of the production has been identified. The Environmental Value Stream Map and the Green Performance Map are also great tools when a company wants to analyze their environmental impact and then invest in environmental improvements. However, no profound energy analyzes has been done in the Risifrutti production because of the lack of energy meters for steam, electricity and compressed air in the production lines. / Denna rapport är resultatet av ett examensarbete utfört på Risifruttiproduktionen hos företaget Procordia Food AB. Examensarbetet är på D-nivå och är det slutgiltiga arbetet för att författaren ska få en Civilingenjörsexamen inom Innovativ produktion vid Mälardalens Högskola. Examensarbetet omfattar 30 högskolepoäng och har pågått i 18 veckor.   Examensarbetet är i huvudsak en forskning av huruvida det är möjligt att utföra en Miljövärdeflödesanalys på en livsmedelsprocessindustri samt en utvärdering av om Miljövärdeflödesanalys och Green Performance Map verktygen är användbara i denna typ av industri. En bidel till denna forskning är att med hjälp av resultaten från Miljövärdeflödesanalysen ge Procordia Food AB information om vad som bör förbättras i Risifruttiproduktionen.   Författaren har haft det svårt att samla in vissa kvantitativa data till Miljövärdeflödesanalysen, främst beträffande energiåtgång i delprocesserna, men har ändå med hjälp av en Värdeflödesanalys och andra Lean verktyg kunnat identifiera och kvantifiera flera slöserier i Risifruttiproduktionen. Rekommendationer till förbättringar baserade på dessa slöserier har givits till företaget.   I forskningsanalysen har verktygen Värdeflödesanalys, Miljövärdeflödesanalys samt Green Performance Map användbarhet i en livsmedelsprocessindustri analyserats. Författaren har funnit att Värdeflödesanalys är ett användbart verktyg då slöserier och ojämnheter i produktionstakt har kunnat identifieras. Miljövärdeflödesanalys och Green Performance Map verktygen är också bra verktyg när ett företag vill analysera sin miljöbelastning för att sedan investera i miljöförbättringar. Dock har inga djupare energianalyser kunnat göras i Risifruttiproduktionen eftersom energimätare för el, ånga och tryckluft saknades i produktionen.

This diploma thesis is focused on the identification of cultural values in IKEA Brno, compared to a situation in a small campany Lino s.r.o. The research is based on a detailed analysis of situation in the company and its company culture with subsequent interrogation methods, namely by VSM94 method, minds maps and personal interview. The output of this diploma thesis should be a list of concrete steps, which is possible to implement in IKEA Brno.

Clustering of text data is one of tasks of text mining. It divides documents into the different categories that are based on their similarities. These categories help to easily search in the documents. This thesis describes the current methods that are used for the text document clustering. From these methods we chose Simultaneous keyword identification and clustering of text documents (SKWIC). It should achieve better results than the standard clustering algorithms such as k-means. There is designed and implemented an application for this algorithm. In the end, we compare SKWIC with a k-means algorithm.

Traditional value stream mapping (VSM) is used to identify non-value-added (NVA) activities in lean production systems. However, VSM lacks flexibility and responsiveness due to its static nature, which limits its usage in complex and flexible production environments. Furthermore, in a production system, the internal logistics and production value streams are interconnected to each other. Therefore, they face the challenges of same nature such as poor material handling, lack of flexibility and lack of responsiveness. These challenges are disseminated from poor integration of internal logistics and production value streams. The lack of flexibility in VSM is discussed in previous research works to some extent but its lack of responsiveness has not received much attention. Similarly, poor material handling and lack of flexibility of internal logistics system are discussed extensively in previous research works; however, the lack of responsiveness of internal logistics has received very little attention. Furthermore, poor integration of internal logistics and production value streams has not received any attention in the previous research works. To overcome aforementioned challenges, this thesis emphasizes on combining digital technologies (e.g., RFIDs, sensors, barcodes, simulation and intelligent interfaces) with VSM and internal logistics system. However, there is very limited research that addresses improvement potentials in VSM and internal logistics system through digitalization. Therefore, this thesis aims to fill this gap by investigating the improvement potentials of digitalization for both value stream mapping and the internal logistics. In this regard, firstly the core challenges in value stream mapping and internal logistics system are identified. As a second step, possible improvement opportunities are identified in these two areas to increase the productivity of the production system through the adoption of digitalization. A qualitative research approach is performed in data collection methods such as observations and interviews. Furthermore, an empirical study is performed to provide an overview of the current production value streams and internal logistics system at a case company. The study concludes that the combination of VSM with simulation and real time data collection is vital to increase the flexibility and responsiveness of VSM. The improved flexibility and responsiveness of VSM will make it efficient to identify non-value-added activities. It is also discussed and demonstrated that the integration of internal logistics and production value streams can be improved through implementation of digital technologies such as AGVs, RFIDs/barcodes, IoT, data analytics and intelligent algorithms in the context of Industry 4.0. The improved integration of internal logistics and production value streams can improve the productivity of the production system to a large extent.

The master thesis is focusing on Hofstede's cultural dimensions in Prague, Bratislava and Vienna. There were 174 students who filled-in the questionnaire called "Value survey 1994". The aim of this work is to verify results of Hofstede's cultural dimensions and discuss obstacles of his methodology. One of the challenges is to create a comparable sample of respondents. Their characteristics should be as similar as possible except for nationality. The sample of 160 students was tested by Kruskal-Wallis test and groups were not significantly different. The interesting finding was the age of students. Although students in Austria enter university when they are 18, it is one year earlier than in Czechia and Slovakia, the student were same age. The results were litle bit different from Hofstedeho values because of university surrounding/enviroment. As this model is obsolete, today's cross-cultural researches are using cluster analysis which compares countries from made up graph of vaules which tend to group based on cross-national differencies. In a 2023 where global crises follow one another, globallogistics have been heavily affected and have thereforebecome an increasingly important focus area. The issues thathave arisen have led companies and organizations to exploretheir options for insourcing processes that were previouslyoutsourced, in order to avoid unnecessary risks withdeliveries and their timelines.In this quantitative deductive case study, the purpose is toexamine the advantages and disadvantages of insourcingwithin the industrial sector. To investigate this purpose, fourmethods were used: flow diagrams, Value Stream Mapping(VSM), Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA), and digitalization ofwhiteboards meant for meetings. The results showed severalimprovements, primarily through reduced lead times, positiveprofitability, and more efficient workflows.The conclusions of the study are that insourcing processescan bring several positive aspects to the organization, with themain barrier being investment costs / I ett 2023 där globala kriser avlöser varandra så har denglobala logistiken påverkats kraftigt och därav blivit ett alltstörre fokusområde. Resultatet visade på ettflertal förbättringar, främst genom förkortade ledtider, enpositiv lönsamhet samt effektivare arbetssätt. Ledtidernaminskade med 88% för processen vilket motsvarade 16% avverksamhetens totala ledtid. Med en avkastning på 14,2% perår gör att investerings kapitalet är återbetalt efter 7 år i drift.
