Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento CientÃfico e TecnolÃgico / The water quality of reservoirs for water supply has been compromised due to eutrophication. Eutrophication favors the proliferation of cyanobacteria, and therefore cyanotoxins that can be produced and released at any stage of cell growth of cyanobacteria. When these are in excess toxins in reservoirs and fountains, represent a hazard to public health and may cause poisoning in humans and animals. Due to several published reports that indicate fatal poisoning caused by cyanotoxins in Brazil and the world, the Brazilian health authorities have given more attention to the issue of intoxication by cyanotoxins, culminating with the inclusion of concentration limits for microcystin and saxitoxin to the concierge potability of the Ministry of Health 2914/2011. The methods described in the literature for the determination of saxitoxins, no reports of validation of the method for analyzing Goniautoxina 2.3 (GTX 2.3) were found Decarbamoil Goniautoxina 2,3-(2,3 dc-GTX) and N -sulfocarbamoil-Goniautoxina 2.3 (1.2 C) in water samples from reservoirs for public water supply. Within this context, this work aims to validate analytical methodology to identify and quantify 2.3 GTX, GTX-dc 2.3 and 1.2 C, using high-efficiency liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection (HPLC-FLD). Validation was performed in accordance with Resolution 889/2003 of ANVISA. The toxin C 1.2 has not remained stable and deteriorated rapidly, preventing its detection and completion of validation. For the 2.3 GTX and GTX-2.3 dc toxins, selectivity and linearity shown to be satisfactory. The values ​​obtained for the precision, accuracy, limits of detection and quantification of the instrument and the method presented is suitable values ​​allowed by Brazilian law, with the exception of accuracy in small concentrations. The method proved to be robust as the analysis of peak area and show sensitivity to temperature variation and the analysis of the retention time. From the final analysis of the results of each parameter, the method proved to be valid for the determination of 2.3 GTX and GTX-dc 2.3. / A qualidade da Ãgua dos reservatÃrios para abastecimento vem sendo comprometida devido ao processo de eutrofizaÃÃo. A eutrofizaÃÃo propicia a proliferaÃÃo das cianobactÃrias, e consequentemente, cianotoxinas que podem ser produzidas e liberadas em qualquer estÃgio de crescimento celular das cianobactÃrias. Quando estas toxinas estÃo em excesso em reservatÃrios e mananciais, apresentam perigo à saÃde pÃblica, podendo causar intoxicaÃÃes em seres humanos e em animais. Dentro deste contexto, este trabalho tem como objetivo validar uma metodologia analÃtica para identificar e quantificar GTX 2,3, dc-GTX 2,3 e C 1,2, utilizando cromatografia lÃquida de alta eficiÃncia com detecÃÃo por fluorescÃncia (CLAE-FLD). A validaÃÃo foi executada de acordo com a ResoluÃÃo 889/2003 da ANVISA. A toxina C 1,2 nÃo se manteve estÃvel e degradou-se rapidamente, impedindo a sua detecÃÃo e conclusÃo da sua validaÃÃo. Para as toxinas GTX 2,3 e dc-GTX 2,3, a seletividade e a linearidade mostraram-se satisfatÃrias. Os valores obtidos para a precisÃo, exatidÃo, limites de detecÃÃo e quantificaÃÃo do instrumento e do mÃtodo apresentaram-se adequados aos valores permitidos pela legislaÃÃo brasileira, com exceÃÃo da exatidÃo em pequenas concentraÃÃes. O mÃtodo mostrou-se robusto quanto a anÃlise de Ãrea do pico e apresentou sensibilidade a variaÃÃo de temperatura quanto a anÃlise do tempo de retenÃÃo. A partir da anÃlise final dos resultados obtidos por cada parÃmetro, o mÃtodo mostrou-se valido para a determinaÃÃo de GTX 2,3 e dc-GTX 2,3.

Para tanto, será feito um estudo multidisciplinar, a partir da psicanálise, religião, filosofia e história, bem como será analisado o conflito a partir de uma acepção ampla de direito, que não abandona o direito estatal como protagonista, mas enxerga os demais espaços estruturais das sociedades capitalistas. In this perspective, this thesis had the following research question: What representations about being a teacher of Portuguese Language emerge in the speech of students of Arts and UEFS compete to build their teaching identities? This is a qualitative research based on the emerging paradigm of science (SOUSA SANTOS, 2004), in dialogue with some principles of social representations theory (Arruda, 2011). The locus was the State University of Feira de Santana / UEFS collaborators and subjects were a total of six students from the Bachelor of Arts Vernacular. To form the corpus of this study, interviews were conducted, and the use of memorials training, portfolios and document analysis of the pedagogical project of the course in question. The discursive clippings were analyzed from the theoretical and methodological assumptions of Discourse Analysis of French Line (ORLANDI, 2008), in dialogue with cultural studies (Hall, 2006), discussions in the field of Teacher Education (CORACINI, 2007; TARDIF, 2012) and studies (Auto) Biographical (N?VOA, 1992; PASSEGI, 2008). As results, we can see that the subject discourses demarcated the border between the porosity and not wanting to be a teacher, unveiling identification contradictory movements in relation to teaching. We also found that subjects represent the teaching of Portuguese as teaching grammar rules, constituting an identity marked by absence: the lack of grammar during coursework. However, conflicts arise as this image of Portuguese Language is relativized by the knowledge of linguistics. In addition, students have highlighted the need for a pedagogical practice different from his elementary school teachers and middle beyond the teaching of grammar rules, thus constituting identities in crossing. Regarding teacher training, students showed the importance of didactic and pedagogical disciplines, emphasizing, on the other hand, the need to include more subjects in the curriculum of this nature, since, according to them, the course emphasizes the training of the researcher, the time that marginalizes knowledge and practices related to the teaching profession, creating therefore a silencing of teaching. / Esta investiga??o problematiza as identidades docentes de estudantes de Licenciatura em Letras, no sentido de compreender o que ? ser professor de L?ngua Portuguesa para o pr?prio estudante, professor em forma??o. Nessa perspectiva, a presente Disserta??o teve a seguinte quest?o de pesquisa: Que representa??es sobre ser professor de L?ngua Portuguesa emergem no discurso de estudantes de Letras da UEFS e concorrem para a constru??o de suas identidades docentes? Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, fundamentada no paradigma emergente de ci?ncia (SOUSA SANTOS, 2004), em di?logo com alguns princ?pios da Teoria das Representa??es Sociais (ARRUDA, 2011). Como resultados alcan?ados, podemos perceber que os discursos dos sujeitos demarcaram a porosidade da fronteira entre querer ser e n?o ser professor, desvelando movimentos de identifica??o contradit?rios em rela??o ? doc?ncia. Percebemos, tamb?m, que os sujeitos representam o ensino da L?ngua Portuguesa como ensino de gram?tica normativa, constituindo uma identidade marcada pela aus?ncia: a falta da gram?tica durante a forma??o no curso. No entanto, embates v?o surgindo ? medida que essa imagem de L?ngua Portuguesa ? relativizada pelo saberes da Lingu?stica. Ademais, os estudantes evidenciaram a necessidade de terem uma pr?tica pedag?gica diferente dos seus professores do ensino fundamental e m?dio, para al?m do ensino da gram?tica normativa, constituindo, assim, identidades em travessia. Fast stars in the Milky Way

I present a comprehensive investigation of fast stars in the Milky Way, from brisk disc stars to stars escaping the Galaxy. My thesis is that fast stars are the smoking guns of extreme stellar collisions and explosions, and so can act as an intermediary to studying these theoretically-unconquered astrophysical processes. In Chapter 1 I give a history of fast stars, address what it means for a star to be fast, and describe the processes that accelerate stars. I concisely summarise the Gaia mission, whose recent data releases heavily influenced this thesis. Supernovae in binary systems can fling away the companion; if a runaway companion can be associated with a supernova remnant, then together they reveal the evolution that led to the supernova. However, these associations are difficult to establish. In Ch. 2, I develop a sophisticated Bayesian methodology to search the nearest ten remnants for a companion, by combining data from Gaia DR1 with a 3D dust-map and binary population synthesis. With Gaia DR2, I will identify companions of tens of supernova remnants and thus open a new window to studying late-stage stellar evolution. It is unknown why 17% of B stars are spinning near break-up; these stars are termed Be stars because of emission lines from their ejected material. Their rapid spin could be due to mass transfer, but in Ch. 3 I show this would create runaway Be stars. I demonstrate using a hierarchical Bayesian model that these exist in sufficient numbers, and thus that all Be stars may arise from mass transfer. The stars escaping the Milky Way are termed hypervelocity stars. In Ch. 4, I overturn the consensus that the hypervelocity stars originated in the Galactic centre by showing that a Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) origin better explains their distribution on the sky. In Ch. 5 I present three ground-breaking hypervelocity results with Gaia DR2: 1) only 41 of the 524 hypervelocity star candidates are truly escaping, 2) at least one of the hypervelocity stars originates in the LMC, and 3) the discovery of three hypervelocity white dwarf runaways from thermonuclear supernovae.

The Outer Disk of the Classical Be Star ψ Per

To this date ψ Per is the only classical Be star that was angularly resolved in radio (by the VLA at λ = 2 cm). Gaussian fit to the azimuthally averaged visibility data indicates a disk size (FWHM) of ~500 stellar radii (Dougherty & Taylor 1992). Recently, we obtained new multi-band cm flux density measurements of ψ Per from the enhanced VLA. We modeled the observed spectral energy distribution (SED) covering the interval from ultraviolet to radio using the Monte Carlo radiative transfer code HDUST (Carciofi & Bjorkman 2006). An SED turndown, that occurs between far-IR and radio wavelengths, is explained by a truncated viscous decretion disk (VDD), although the shallow slope of the radio SED suggests that the disk is not simply cut off, as is assumed in our model. The best-fit size of a truncated disk derived from the modeling of the radio SED is 100+5 −15 stellar radii, which is in striking contrast with the result of Dougherty & Taylor (1992). The reasons for this discrepancy are under investigation.

ABB Power Grids Grid Integration, PGGI, deliver substations to external customers, the performed work is done in project form and all the projects are being tracked by several Key Performance Indicators, KPI. In this Thesis work one KPI will be investigated, which is OTD. The OTD is in form of 17 standardized milestones that are set from ABB to support the PGGI-project’s on-time-delivery. The problem that shall be investigated is the downward trend discovered regarding the OTD for the 17 milestones. This downward trend means that the PGGI-project’s ability to deliver on time is decreasing. To take on the problem a status analysis to achieve a picture of the current situation regarding the 17 milestones was done, the current situation is called As-Is. An analyze of the targeted situation regarding the milestones was also performed, which is called To-Be. When these two were made an analysis between them was also done. The result from this was that a gap between the As-Is and the To-Be situation exists. The reasons for this gap are; deficiencies in knowledge and lack of understanding regarding OTD, reporting, and unreliable data regarding the 17 milestones. Thereafter a roadmap was developed to suggest how the notified gap between As-Is and To-Be situation can be reduced and possibly be eliminated. This roadmap contains 7 improvement suggestion and an implementation plan for how some of the suggestions is recommended to be managed. This goes out to the company to perspicuous illustrate the shown gap and how to minimize it. Lean philosophy and Statistical Process Control laid as foundation for the developed improvement suggestions. An implementation of the roadmap as a template for the improvement suggestions that were developed are therefore suggested as further work. / ABB Power Grids Grid Integration, PGGI, levererar transformatorstationer till externa kunder, arbetet som utförs är i projektform. Problemet som ska redas ut är den nedåtgående trenden som upptäckts i leveranssäkerheten hos de 17 milstolparna. För att ta an detta gjordes en nulägesbeskrivning samt en börlägesbeskrivning, detta visade ett gap i arbetssättet gällande de 17 milstolparna. En analys av gapet mellan nuläge och börläge genomfördes, i analysen upptäcktes brister i kunskap, förståelse, rapportering samt opålitlig data gällande de 17 milstolparna. Därefter utvecklades en plan för att föreslå hur gapet mellan börläge och nuläge ska minska för att sedan elimineras. Lean filosofi, Lean verktyg samt Statistisk Process Styrning låg som grund för de framtagna förbättringsförslagen. Den framtagna planen är tänkt att användas som grund för vidare arbete med förbättringsförslagen som tagits fram.

New Party Entrance : The case of BE and PAN in Portugal

Back in 2012, Niklas Bolin offered an innovative perspective on the importance of agency for new party entrance. With his doctoral thesis he concluded that the ownership of at least one non-mainstream position and the possession of certain party resources were two necessary conditions for new parties to reach parliament membership. This investigation aimed to test his findings with the analysis of the only two cases of new party entrance in the Portuguese democracy since the end of the consolidation period: the Left Bloc (BE) in 1999 and PessoasAnimais-Natureza (PAN) in 2015. The thesis concludes that in one hand both parties emphasized “unique” issues in their electoral programs. On the other hand, some party resources proved to have greater importance than others for this case: both parties had low levels of membership, limited leadership and considerable financial funds when compared to similar size parties. Finally, regarding media exposure while BE managed to gain some space within the traditional channels, PAN relied solely on social media. As a result, this study corroborates both the current tendency for a decline in the number and importance of party affiliates and the equalization theory regarding the opportunities of the Internet for small parties as a more equal space for party competition.
