Esta dissertação trata da construção dos valores acerca do corpo que transforma aspectos estéticos em problemas de saúde física. Com base na pressuposição do compromisso de aliviar o sofrimento o cirurgião plástico busca, dentro do campo da saúde, justificativas para sua atuação. Por outro lado, na aspiração por modelos de beleza socialmente prestigiados há também a procura pela transformação pessoal com a construção e afirmação de papéis sociais, o que contribui para a maior aceitação das intervenções cirúrgicas com finalidade estética. Seguindo tendências estéticas sempre em mutação, observa-se, na atualidade, uma grande demanda por cirurgia plástica para colocação de implantes de silicone com objetivo de aumento mamário. Tomando como recorte a utilização de tais implantes, buscou-se analisar a construção médica e social da beleza e compreender como a procura e a prática da cirurgia plástica estão ligadas a valores controversamente aceitos ou criticados na sociedade contemporânea. / This study treats the construction of values concerning the body which transform aesthetic appearance into physical health troubles. Based on the presupposition of the commitment of relieving the suffering, the plastic surgeon searches for inside the health field to justify his acts. On the other hand, in aspiration for beautiful socially well-known models looking for personal transformation also occurs, with the construction and affirmation of social roles which contributes to the wider acceptance of operations with aesthetic purpose. Following aesthetics trends always in mutations, it was observed in present times a great demand for cosmetics breast augmentation with silicone implants. It was searched to analyze the medical and social constructions of beauty and understand how the search and the practice of plastic surgery are binding to values controversially accepted or criticized in the contemporaries societies.

The dissertation work focuses on leisure time as an important aspect of seeking higher values like beauty, goodness and the importance of meaning of life at the beginning of the 21st century. The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out whether young people of ages between 20 and 30 are able to perceive the values of beauty, goodness and the meaning of life in their free time. The thesis is divided into six chapters. The first chapter defines the concept of leisure time and describes a brief history of leisure time. The second chapter deals with pedagogical trends based on existentialism and philosophy of education in relation to values. The third chapter classifies the values and expounds three specific values, which are essential for this work the beauty, the goodness and the importance of meaning of life. The fourth chapter describes the Czech society at the beginning of the 21st century with a focus on the values gained in the family and the society. The sixth chapter contains qualitative research, using a questionnaire with open questions that I then analyse and evaluate.

Nesta dissertação discuto como os conceitos contemporâneos de saúde como um ‘mais’, molecularização do corpo e otimização da beleza aparecem na revista Claudia (revista nacional de grande circulação destinada ao público feminino) e quais estratégias são utilizadas na produção dos corpos femininos na atualidade. Foram analisados todos os anúncios, matérias e reportagens de doze exemplares do artefato correspondentes ao período de julho de 2008 a junho de 2009. Os Estudos Culturais e os Estudos de Gênero foram utilizados como referencial teórico-metodológico ancorado na perspectiva pós-estruturalista. A partir das ferramentas escolhidas, são apresentadas e problematizadas as práticas de cuidado com o corpo, com a saúde e com a beleza presentes nas páginas de Claudia com a intenção de apontar como a Revista colabora na construção de modos de ser e de viver femininos. Os investimentos na potencialização do corpo, a necessidade de escrutinar o próprio corpo, a responsabilização do indivíduo em lidar com os riscos aos quais está exposto, a busca incessante por mais saúde e o consumo do próprio corpo são as questões principais discutidas neste estudo. / In this dissertation I will be discussing how the contemporary concepts of health as a 'plus', molecularization of the body and beauty optimization appear in the magazine Claudia (a domestic magazine with broad circulation aimed at female consumers) and what strategies are used in the production of the women’s bodies nowadays. An analysis was made of all the advertisements, articles and reports from twelve issues of the magazine, corresponding to the period from July 2008 to June 2009. Cultural Studies and Gender Studies were used as a theoreticalmethodological reference anchored on the post-structuralist view. Using the selected tools, body, health and beauty care practices are presented and questioned. These practices are taken from the pages of Claudia with the aim of demonstrating how the magazine collaborates in the construction of feminine manners of being and living. Investments in strengthening the body, the need to scrutinize one’s own body, individuals responsibilities in dealing with the risks they are exposed to, the constant search for more health and the consumption of one’s own body are the leading issues discussed in this study.

Nos primeiros periódicos voltados ao público feminino, criados a partir de 1827, nos jornais publicados desde 1808 e nos enredos dos primeiros romances cariocas, as festividades religiosas e mundanas – bailes e saraus –, as apresentações teatrais, as colunas sobre moda, os anúncios de comerciantes dedicados a vender suas mercadorias importadas, as menções ao bom trato das vestimentas, o valor da moda e da beleza e a importância do bem vestir foram tópicos presentes. Partindo deste variado corpus documental, que contempla desde o limiar do Oitocentos, quando os profissionais europeus começaram a se estabelecer nas ruas centrais do Rio de Janeiro, até meados de 1850, quando os discursos sobre a moda e os aspectos da civilização já se encontravam enraizados na sociedade carioca, a presente dissertação busca apresentar e interrogar como os cuidados com a aparência e a moda ganharam centralidade na vida das mulheres oitocentistas. O propósito fundamental, em outros termos, é dar-se a conhecer o cenário de uma capital brasileira que se abria para os discursos de civilidade e europeização dos espaços sociais e dos hábitos cotidianos por meio dos padrões vestimentários recomendados. A partir do que acreditamos ser o despertar da moda na sociedade fluminense, procuramos trazer à luz as particularidades e recorrências desses discursos e como eles ajudaram a compor um tipo de mulher ideal oitocentista. / The descriptions and prescriptions of the various aspects of the daily life of the good people were recurrent in the writings on Rio de Janeiro during the nineteenth century. In the first periodicals aimed at the female audience, created in 1827, in the newspapers published since 1808 and in the entanglements of the first Carioca novels, religious and worldly festivities - dances and serenades -, theatrical presentations, fashion columns, merchants dedicated to selling their imported goods, mentions to the good treatment of clothing, the value of fashion and beauty, and the importance of well-being were present topics. Starting from this varied documentary corpus that contemplates from the threshold of the Eighth, when the European professionals began to settle in the central streets of Rio de Janeiro, until the middle of 1850, when the discourses on the fashion and the aspects of the civilization already were rooted in the society of Rio de Janeiro, the present dissertation seeks to present and question how care with appearance and fashion have gained centrality in the life of eighteenth-century women. The fundamental purpose, in other words, is to make known the scenario of a Brazilian capital that was open to the discourses of civility and Europeanization of social spaces and daily habits through standardized dress patterns. From what we believe to be the awakening of fashion in the society of Rio de Janeiro, we try to bring to light the particularities and recurrences of these discourses and how they helped to compose a type of ideal woman from the nineteenth century. / 2016/03312-1

Background: For years companies have been using SMIs to communicate their brands and influencer marketing has become a thriving concept in this social-media era. Beauty retailing industry, as a global business with the third biggest follower base on social media, makes itself qualified and valuable for the study of influencer marketing. Purpose: The aim of the thesis is to investigate which type of influencers would be more influential in promotion of beauty product categories. Furthermore, the study intends to research on consumers’ review habits, preferred traits of influencers and reasons behind the actions. Method: To accomplish the purpose of this study, we conducted an abductive approach by the aid of both qualitative and quantitative data. The data was gathered through a questionnaire and a focus group, primarily among students in international universities. This in order to reach out to young people with different nationalities since it is an international study. Conclusion: Top influentials and narrative experts are shown to be more efficient for influencer marketing in the beauty industry especially when they are perceived trustworthy. Additionally, we found that the influencers have an impact on the consumers most when it comes to information search and the evaluation of alternatives.

A Crítica do Juízo surgiu sobretudo devido a uma necessidade sistemática da filosofia de Kant, a saber, a de tornar possível uma passagem entre o mundo da natureza e o mundo da liberdade. Contudo, ela tornou-se uma obra fundamental para a estética, na qual a noção de forma é a crucial para que se compreenda tanto a criação artística como a recepção estética, pois tal noção constitui, para Kant, o fundamento de toda disposição para o gosto. Trata-se aqui de investigar a noção de forma a partir dos diferentes aspectos que ela assume ao longo da Crítica do Juízo, uma vez que aquilo que passou a ser denominado pela crítica de arte moderna e contemporânea como um formalismo de inspiração kantiana parece desconsiderar a real complexidade de tal noção. Tendo em vista mostrar que a forma, para Kant, não é meramente uma estrutura espaço temporal, mas implica a expressão de um conteúdo, a tese foi estruturada em quatro capítulos. O primeiro capítulo é dedicado à análise da relação entre forma e reflexão, relação esta que exige um exame da oposição entre forma e matéria da sensação, bem como da noção de forma da finalidade. O segundo capítulo volta-se para a especificidade da bela-arte e envolve a comparação entre o belo natural e o belo artístico, o problema da distinção entre beleza livre e beleza aderente e a teoria do gênio. O terceiro capítulo trata do problema da convivência entre forma e conteúdo na obra de arte em virtude da teoria das Idéias estéticas e da afirmação do belo como símbolo do bem.O quarto capítulo analisa a influência do pensamento de Kant na teoria de Greenberg. / The Critique of Judgment arose above all due to a systematic necessity in Kant\'s philosophy, namely to make a passage between the world of nature and the world of liberty possible. Nevertheless, it became a fundamental work for aesthetics, in which the notion of form is crucial as much to the understanding of artistic creation as to aesthetic reception, since such a notion constituted for Kant, the basis of any disposition to taste. In this paper it is sought to investigate the notion of form beginning from the different aspects which it assumes throughout the Critique of Judgment, since what has come to be termed in modern and contemporary art criticism as Kantian inspired formalism appears to ignore the true complexity of such a notion. Bearing in mind that for Kant, form is not merely a time space structure but implies the expressio n of content, the thesis was structured in four chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to the analysis of the relationship between form and reflection, which demands an examination of the opposition between form and the subject matter, as well as the notion of the form of finality. The second chapter is concerned with the specificity of fine art and involves the comparison between natural and artistic beauty, the problem of the distinction between free beauty and adherent beauty and the theory of genius. The third treats the problem of the co-existence between form and content in art work in virtue of the theory of aesthetic Ideals and the affirmation of beauty as a symbol of good. The fourth chapter analyzes the influence of Kant\'s thought on Greenberg\'s theory.

Esta determinação encaminhanos a pensar que o esporte possui algo que atrai aos indivíduos, que estão dispostos a romper obstáculos, simplesmente motivados por emoções que somente estarão presentes no esporte. E, para a realização desses feitos, o atleta tem como principal ferramenta o corpo. Com isso, a discussão será norteada, de acordo com estudos das Ciências Humanas. Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo entender como a mídia interfere na construção corporal de uma mulher específica, a atleta. Pois, as pesquisas voltadas aos assuntos ligados às mulheres são vastas em muitas vertentes, porém a mulher atleta, ainda está carente de pesquisas sobre seu cotidiano, tanto no desempenho de suas tarefas atléticas, como nas suas ações para se realizar como mulher. Esse fator contribuiu para o interesse nesse assunto, instigando a busca de dados que possibilitem uma melhor observação nas condutas da mulher atleta em sua preparação, na intenção de atingir os vários objetivos desejados a ela e os desejados por ela. O método, para o desenvolvimento desse trabalho, aponta para uma pesquisa qualitativa, apoiada por uma revisão de literatura específica. Para a coleta de dados foi utilizada a técnica de histórias de vida, realizada por meio de depoimentos em entrevistas com as atletas. For this, if it demands that the athlete does not measure efforts, in case that wants to have a success career. It finishes opening hand of many other things, which, perhaps, were more pleasant or painless. This determination directs us to think it that the sport possess something that attracts the individuals, that is made use to breach obstacles, simply motivated by emotions that will only be gifts in the sport. And, for the accomplishment of these facts, the athlete has as main tool the body. With this, the quarrel will be guided, in accordance with studies of Sciences Human beings. This research has as objective to understand as the media intervenes with the corporal construction of a specific woman, the athlete. Therefore, the research directed to the on subjects to the women is vast in many sources, however the woman athlete, still is devoid of research on its daily one, as much in the performance of its athletical tasks, as in its actions to become fullfilled itself as woman. This factor contributed for the interest in this subject, instigating the search of data that make possible one better comment in the behaviors of the woman athlete in its preparation, in the intention to reach the some desired objectives it and the desired ones for it. The method, with respect to the development of this work, points with respect to a qualitative research, supported for a revision of specific literature. Para tanto, a primeira parte deste trabalho é dedicada a analisar as diversas proposições teóricas do estruturalismo com os argumentos de Claude Lévi-Strauss, Umberto Eco e Vladimir Propp. Seguimos com algumas ponderações de Ferdinand de Saussure, Roman Jakobson e Roland Barthes sobre questões de linguística e, por fim, com conceitos da estética musical, presentes nas reflexões de Enrico Fubini, considerando também algumas das especulações elaboradas por Theodor Adorno, Robert Jauss, Edmund Husserl e Maurice Merleau-Ponty. Na segunda parte, as formulações apresentadas são declinadas no universo conceitual de Berio e Menezes, evidenciando as perspectivas teóricas individuais dos dois compositores. Em seguida, são analisadas exaustivamente as duas obras para harpa solo escritas pelos dois autores: Sequenza II, de Berio, e …donde solo las plantas suenan…, de Menezes, com especial atenção ao processo genético e compositivo. Nessa etapa de análise e confronto, procuramos validar a hipótese de que a reelaboração peculiar e a aplicação subjacente de princípios filosóficos e musicais de matriz estruturalista resultam na presença do Belo nas obras dos dois compositores. / This research analyses the compositional techniques used by Luciano Berio and Flo Menezes, and compares their musical conceptions trying to demonstrate a common origin of these ideas in Structuralism. In order to reach this aim, the first part of this essay is dedicated to analyse the different theoretical propositions of the Structuralism based on the arguments of Claude Lévi-Strauss, Umberto Eco and Vladimir Propp. We then proceed with some considerations about Linguistics issues by Ferdinand de Saussure, Roman Jakobson and Roland Barthes. Lastly, there is an elaboration of musical esthetics concepts, following Enrico Fubini’s perspective, and considering some of the contributions in this field by Theodor Adorno, Robert Jauss, Edmund Husserl and Maurice Merleau-Ponty. In the second part, these philosophical views are applied to Berio’s and Menezes’ conceptual universe, underlining the individual theoretical perspectives of the two composers. Then, we analyse the two compositions for harp solo written by the two authors: Sequenza II by Berio and …donde solo las plantas suenan…by Menezes, giving special attention to the genetic and compositional process. In this stage, we support the hypothesis that the implicit use of philosophical and musical structuralistic principles resulted in the presence of Beauty in the two composers’ pieces.

A beleza, em seu sentido vernacular ou pós-moderno, ou ainda referindo-se a construção daquilo que se percebe, é algo que pode intrigar, não só com relação às aparências externas das coisas, mas principalmente e também em relação aquilo que compreendemos quando tomamos por interesse este conceito. Esta investigação, em realidade, procura assemelhar-se a uma constelação, por onde tento traçar linhas que consigam, de alguma forma, ligar vários e diferentes pontos de intersecção, a respeito do olhar, do sentir, do imaginar, do criar e do reformular a beleza. Daquilo que é considerado normal ou anormal, do que é comumente entendido e aceito como bonito ou feio, capacitado ou desativado. Estende-se e liga-se a isso outras discussões, que migram para contextos mais amplos, históricos, políticos, filosóficos, sociais e até mesmo biológicos, para além de perspectivas corriqueiras ocidentais. / The beauty, in your vernacular sense or postmodern, or even referring to the construction of what is perceived, is something that has intrigued me, not only with respect to the outward appearances of things, but mainly, and also for what we understand when we take interest in this concept. My research, in fact, came to resemble a constellation, tried to draw lines where they could, somehow, connect multiple and different points of intersection, about the look, the feel, the imagine, create and the reshape. What is considered normal or anormal, what is commonly understood and accepted as beautiful or ugly, enabled or disabled. It extends and connects it to other discussions, which migrate to broader, historical, political, philosophical, social and even biological contexts, beyond the ordinary Western perspectives.
