Component Based Development has emerged as economical, reusable, scalable way of developing enterprise as well as embedded software applications. Testing distributed component based systems is difficult when third party components are being used in the development. Many testing methodologies that have been proposed for testing object oriented programs in the literature are being imported into component domain directly or by tuning them. But testing components involves much manual work due to the lack of information of the component. Middleware architectures like, DCOM(Distributed COM), Jini and CORBA(Common Object Request Broker Architecture) are being used in developing the distributed component applications in different vertical domains.
In this thesis, a language- Distributed Object Testing Language(DOTL) for specifying the testing process and generation of distributed testing environment for CORBA based applications has been proposed. The language captures required semantics for specifying dummy servers, clients, controlling the testing process, generation of test cases, activating and deactivating objects. Many existing testing techniques can be specified using the semantics provided by the language. Faults occurring in distributed object systems, in addition to the functional errors, can be identifiable using the tool. The language provides abstract types object, argument to specify variables in the testing environment, and operations dealing with these variables to conducts necessary tests.
The DOTL has been implemented on MICO(Mico Is CORBA) orb on Linux OS, with mapping of DOTL to CORBA C++.

Svagt intresse för köpmäklare : en fråga om bristande kännedom eller saknas behovet? / Low interest in buyer’s real estate agents : a question of lack of knowledge or lack of need?Magnusson, Andreas, Nilsson, Carl, Lantz, Peter January 2012 (has links)
Syfte: Syftet med kandidatuppsatsen är att ta reda på ifall det svaga intresset för köpmäklare i Sverige beror på en bristande kännedom om köpmäklartjänstens existens eller om det saknas ett behov för tjänsten. En kortare utredning av hur lagen ser ut genomförs för att se om en köpmäklartjänst kan utövas enligt den idag rådande lagstiftningen. Forskningsfråga: Beror det svaga intresset för köpmäklare i Sverige på att svenska folket inte är medvetna om att tjänsten existerar eller beror det på att det inte finns ett behov av tjänsten? Metod: I uppsatsen har information samlats in genom två olika typer av undersökningsmetoder, kvantitativa enkäter och kvalitativa intervjuer. Informationen av dessa har sedan sammanställts och utgör resultatet i uppsatsen. Analysen i arbetet utgår ifrån resultatet vilket har bearbetats med den teoretiska delen som en grund. Det är utifrån den teoretiska modell som ställts upp, vilken är kallad ”slutlig analysmodell”, som analysen utarbetats. Uppsatsens bidrag: I Sverige finns det idag ett fåtal aktörer som agerar som så kallade köpmäklare, vilka jobbar på uppdrag av köpare. Efter att ha gjort en kortare forskning kring området så märktes det snabbt att det inte finns mycket information om varken tjänsten eller hur väl det svenska folket känner till en sådan tjänst eller om de har behov av det, att tillgå. Genom denna uppsats uppmärksammas därför problematiken kring efterfrågan av tjänsten och vad detta eventuellt kan bero på. Efter genomfört arbete kommer uppsatsen att kunna ligga till grund för vidare forskning kring tjänsten och dess efterfrågan. Resultat och slutsats: Svenska bostadsspekulanter har dålig till ingen kännedom om att köpmäklartjänsten existerar då minimal marknadsföring görs. Även behovet är lågt bland svenska bostadsköpare då de är bra skyddade genom säljarens fastighetsmäklare som enligt lag även ska tillgodose köparens intresse. Förslag till vidare forskning: 1) Undersöka om det finns utrymme eller möjlighet till att genomföra lagändringar vilket skulle främja en köpmäklartjänst. 2) Hur man kan öka svenska folkets medvetenhet om köpmäklartjänstens existens. 3) Genomföra en mer rikstäckande undersökning kring svenska folkets medvetenhet och behov för att se om resultatet visar något annat. / Purpose: The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to determine if a lack of buyers real estate agents in Sweden is due to a lack of knowledge of the existence or the absence of need for the service. A short investigation of how the law corresponds to the work of a buyers real estate agent has been done. Research question: Is the lack of buyer’s real estate agents in Sweden due to a lack of knowledge of their existence or the absence of need for the service. Methodology: In this paper, the information is gathered from two different types of survey methods, quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. The information from these has been compiled and is the result of this paper. The analysis of the work is based on the results which have been processed with the theoretical part as a basis. It is based on the theoretical model which is called the "slutlig analysmodell". Essay contributions: In Sweden, there are a few agents who act as buyer’s real estate agents which works on behalf of a buyer. After a shorter research it was found that there is not much information about the service or how well the Swedish people are aware of such a service or if they have any need of it. This essay therefore wants to point out the problem with the lack of demand for the service and what it may be due to. After completion of this essay this paper will provide a basis for further research into the service and its demand. Results and Conclusion: Swedish housing speculators have poor to no knowledge of the existens of the buyer’s real estate agent service due to minimal marketing. Also the demand of such a service is low due to that the buyers are well protected by the seller’s real estate agent, who by law also must work for the best of the buyers interests. Suggestions for further research: 1) Investigate whether there is room or opportunity for the implementation of legislative changes which would support a buyers real estate agent service. 2) How to increase the Swedish people's awareness of the existence of a buyer’s real estate agent service. 3) Implement a more nationwide survey on Swedish people's awareness and needs of a buyer’s real estate agent service to see if the results show otherwise.

Le présent texte a pour sujet la Base de données nationale d'inscription,
système d'inscription obligatoire depuis quelques mois pour l'ensemble des
firmes de courtage et des représentants en valeurs mobilières au Canada, à
l'exception de ceux et celles qui n'exercent leurs activités qu'en territoire
québécois.
La question de la protection des renseignements personnels compris dans cette
base de données y est analysée en portant une attention particulière à la
pluralité des régimes de protection qui évolue au Canada. En effet, différentes
règles s'appliquent selon que l'on est en présence d'un organisme public ou une
entreprise du secteur privé et selon que la « transaction» est intraprovinciale ou
extraprovinciale.
La Base de données nationale d'inscription remplace dorénavant la procédure
d'inscription sur support papier. Les documents issus de ce système
informatique possèdent des caractéristiques propres et certaines règles doivent
être respectées afin de leurs conférer la même valeur juridique que les
documents papier.
Finalement, la compilation de l'information dans cette gigantesque base de
données serait futile s'il n'était pas possible d'accéder aux renseignements qui y
sont contenus. Une fois les différents types d'accès définis, une comparaison
sera faite avec certains systèmes d'inscription en ligne américains.

recent mandatory registration system designated for all brokerage firms and
investment advisors across Canada, with the exception of those who exercise
their activities exclusively in Quebec.
The matter of protection of personal information included in this database is
analyzed with an emphasis on the existence of multiple laws evolving in
Canada. In fact, different mIes apply whether you are in the presence of a
public body or an enterprise of the private sector and whether the "transaction"
is concluded within or out of the province.
The National Registration Database replaces the previous paper format
registration procedure. The documents produced by this computerized system
have their own particularities and certain mIes must be respected in order to
maintain a legal value equal to the priOf format.
Finally, the compiling of information found in this enormous database would be
useless if it was not possible to access its information. Once the different types
of access are determined, a comparison will be done with existing American
online registration systems.
It is obvious that technology has had a tremendous impact on the economy. Of

Hardware Architecture of an XML/XPath Broker/Router for Content-Based Publish/Subscribe Data Dissemination SystemsEl-Hassan, Fadi 25 February 2014 (has links)
The dissemination of various types of data faces ongoing challenges with the growing
need of accessing manifold information. Since the interest in content is what drives
data networks, some new technologies and thoughts attempt to cope with these challenges
by developing content-based rather than address-based architectures. The Publish/
Subscribe paradigm can be a promising approach toward content-based data dissemination,
especially that it provides total decoupling between publishers and subscribers.
However, in content-based publish/subscribe systems, subscriptions are expressive and
the information is often delivered based on the matched expressive content - which may
not deeply alleviate considerable performance challenges.
This dissertation explores a hardware solution for disseminating data in content-based
publish/subscribe systems. This solution consists of an efficient hardware architecture
of an XML/XPath broker that can route information based on content to either other
XML/XPath brokers or to ultimate users. A network of such brokers represent an overlay
structure for XML content-based publish/subscribe data dissemination systems. Each
broker can simultaneously process many XPath subscriptions, efficiently parse XML
publications, and subsequently forward notifications that result from high-performance
matching processes. In the core of the broker architecture, locates an XML parser that
utilizes a novel Skeleton CAM-Based XML Parsing (SCBXP) technique in addition to an
XPath processor and a high-performance matching engine. Moreover, the broker employs
effective mechanisms for content-based routing, so as subscriptions, publications, and
notifications are routed through the network based on content.
The inherent reconfigurability feature of the broker’s hardware provides the system
architecture with the capability of residing in any FPGA device of moderate logic density.
Furthermore, such a system-on-chip architecture is upgradable, if any future hardware
add-ons are needed. However, the current architecture is mature and can effectively be
implemented on an ASIC device.
Finally, this thesis presents and analyzes the experiments conducted on an FPGA
prototype implementation of the proposed broker/router. The experiments tackle tests
for the SCBXP alone and for two phases of development of the whole broker. The
corresponding results indicate the high performance that the involved parsing, storing,
matching, and routing processes can achieve.

Studiens syfte är därför att få en ökad förståelse om ledarskapet och det sociala stödets betydelse för att motverka arbetsrelaterad stress i säljande organisationer. Forskningsfrågorna som ställts är följande: 1) Vilken betydelse har ledarskapet för upplevelsen av arbetsrelaterad stress? 2) Vilken betydelse har det sociala stödet för upplevelsen av arbetsrelaterad stress? 3) Anses det vara ledarens uppgift att bidra med/ge socialt stöd till sina anställda? Metod: Eftersom syftet har varit att öka förståelsen inom ämnet, har studien gjorts med en kvalitativ forskningsmetod där data har samlats in genom semistrukturerade intervjuer. Tio stycken intervjuer har genomförts, uppdelat i sex anställda och fyra ledare. Det empiriska materialet har därefter transkriberats och analyserats. Resultatet presenteras genom en analys med stödjande citat och slutligen har en avslutning skrivits där resultat och analys presenteras och forskningsfrågorna besvaras. Resultat & slutsats: Ledarskapet och framförallt det transformella ledarskapet har visat sig ha en påverkande roll för arbetsrelaterad stress eftersom ledaren fokuserar på att engagera och motivera de anställda med hjälp av en nära relation och socialt stöd. Studien visar även att den transaktionella ledarstilen kan ha en påverkande roll för arbetsrelaterad stress i en positiv bemärkelse. Förslag till fortsatt forskning: Eftersom vi intervjuat både ledare och anställda i vår studie anser vi att det är av intresse att endast fokusera på anställda eller ledarna för att få en enhetlig bild av perspektiven. Studien visar även en koppling mellan det sociala stödet och den transaktionella ledarstilen, därför vore det även intressant att se det transaktionella ledarskapets påverkan och betydelse för upplevd arbetsrelaterad stress. The study also shows that the transactional leadership style may have an influencing role of work-related stress in a positive sense. Suggestions for future research: Since we interviewed both managers and employees in our study, we believe it is of interest to only focus on employees or leaders to get a coherent picture out perspectives. The study also shows a slight link between social support and transactional leadership style, therefore it would also be interesting to see the transactional leadership impact and importance of perceived work stress. Contribution of the thesis: The study contributes to the business economic research in leadership and organization through a greater understanding of leadership, the transformal leadership, and above all the social support influence of work-related stress within the sales profession. Syfte: Syftet med studien är att undersöka om de demografiska faktorerna kön, ålder och arbetslivserfarenhet påverkar de etiska värderingarna. Studien kommer även undersöka om de etiska koderna inom företagen påverkar de etiska värderingarna i givna situationer bland försäljare i tjänsteföretag. Förtydligande: Med givna situationer menas de situationer som anges i enkäten (bilaga 2). Metod: I studien användes en kvantitativ metod där en enkät med stängda svarsalternativ skickades ut till 863 respondenter. I enkäten användes både nominal- och ordinalskalor för att göra det möjligt att använda korrelation, faktor och klusteranalys samt t-test med hjälp av den statistiska mjukvaran IBM SPSS. Analyserna användes sedan för att besvara de forskningsfrågor som utformats genom teorin. Resultat: Resultatet visade att åldern har ett svagt samband med en fastighetsmäklares etiska värderingar och är därmed inte en avgörande faktor i det här fallet. Den andra demografiska faktorn kön visade sig inte ha något samband alls med en fastighetsmäklares etiska värderingar. Vid en ytterligare analys med hjälp av t-test där en analys av de båda könen gjordes, konstaterades det att det inte fanns någon skillnad mellan män och kvinnor och de etiska värderingarna. Resultatet visade också att arbetslivserfarenheten inte har något signifikant samband med en fastighetsmäklares etiska värderingar. De etiska koderna var enligt vårt resultat inte någon påverkande faktor på fastighetsmäklares etiska värderingar. Studiens bidrag: Syftet med studien är att undersöka om kön, ålder, arbetslivserfarenhet och etiska koder påverkar de etiska värderingarna i givna situationer bland försäljare i tjänsteföretag. Method: In the study a quantitative method was used in which a survey with closed response options was sent out to 863 respondents. In the survey both nominal- and ordinal scales was used to allow correlation, factor, cluster analysis and t-tests with the IBM SPSS computer software. The analyzes were then used to answer the research questions that deduced through the theory. Result: The results showed that age only has a weak connection with a real estate broker's ethical values and is thus not a decisive factor in this case. The second demographic factor sex was found to have no connection at all with a real estate broker's ethical values. In a further analysis using the t-test where an analysis of both sexes was made, it was found that there was no difference between men and women and ethical values. The results also showed that work experience has no significant relationship with a real estate broker's ethical values. Contribution: The purpose of the study is to investigate whether gender, age, work experience and ethical codes affect the ethical values of given situations among vendors in service. Our hope is that the study should be able to contribute with additional information about what it is that can affect a real estate broker's ethical values. Proposal for further studies: Our hope is that further research to develop the results that the study contributed. Proposal for further studies is to investigate other demographic factors that may affect the ethical values and if the leader of the company is a possible influencing factor, but also if a survey for Sweden’s all real estate broker´s would make the outcome different. Brokering anime : how to create a Japanese animation business bridge between Japan and IndiaMihara, Ryotaro January 2017 (has links)
This thesis ethnographically examines the globalising of the Japanese animation (anime) business in the context of the creative industries, of Japan's politico-economic position in Asia, and of brokerage. Influencing the world's entertainment, creators, and youth culture, anime is one of the crucial lenses through which one can examine Japan's presence in the world. Despite the prevalent assumption that anime is globally popular, this thesis highlights the precarious performance of the anime business overseas, and examines it through an entrepreneurial anime business project trying to bridge the Japanese anime business into the Indian market. The ethnography of the project centres on its founding entrepreneur, focusing on how he tried to ally with insiders in the Japanese anime sector and the Indian market. The thesis's 12-month fieldwork accompanied his business in Japan (Tokyo) and India (Delhi), revealing a perspective of the entrepreneur as a broker who intermediates between the discrepant positions of his stakeholders to keep his business afloat. It also highlights the two most critical discrepancies: the dichotomies of art versus commerce (one of the central topics in creative industries studies) and the 'Japanese' versus 'Indian' ways of doing business (one of the prominent topics in Japan's political economy vis-à-vis the Asian region). The ethnography found the entrepreneur's liminal dual agency in bridging, blurring and reorienting the dichotomies was a driving force carrying his business forward. This thesis counterbalances previous anthropological studies on the creative industries (including anime) that tend to advocate the centrality of creators and fans, by focusing on the businessperson in a creative project. It also suggests that the broker is a crucial point of reference when examining how to create workable compromises between art and commerce, and allowing Japanese and Asian businesspeople to get along. The thesis also enhances our understanding of entrepreneurship by revealing most of its function as brokerage.

När nya politiska regleringar införs på en marknad kan det få konsekvenser för alla aktörer på marknaden. Det kan påverka både deras verksamhet och deras relationer. Syftet med denna uppsats är att få en ökad förståelse för hur relationen mellan företag på försäkringsmarknaden förändras inför en större politisk förändring och vilka faktorer som kan spela in. För att undersöka detta intervjuas företrädare för försäkringsbolag och försäkringsförmedlare inför det kommande direktivet om försäkringsdistribution (IDD). För att undersöka hur relationerna förändrats används en modell av relationen som grundar sig i bland annat Anderson och Narus (1990) forskning om relationens beståndsdelar och hur dessa hänger ihop. För att undersöka vilka faktorer som påverkar hur förändringen går till används en modell av Hadjikhani, Thilenius och Pourmand (2009) som förklarar hur politiska förändringar kan påverka företag, både direkt genom lagstiftning och indirekt via andra företag. Slutsatserna som dras är att: Relationerna mellan försäkringsbolag och försäkringsförmedlare påverkas av regleringar såsom direktivet om försäkringsdistribution (IDD) och att relationen börjar förändras redan innan regleringen trätt i kraft. This can affect both the activities and relationships between them. The purpose of this paper is to gain a better understanding of how the relationship between companies in the insurance market is changing as a consequence of a major political change and which factors can be relevant to this change. To investigate this, representatives from insurance companies and insurance brokers are interviewed about the forthcoming Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD). To investigate how the relationships changed, a model of the relationship, based in, among others, Anderson and Narus (1990) model, which deals with the constituents of a relationship and how they relate to each other. To investigate the factors which influence how the relationship changes, a model of Hadjikhani, Thilenius and Pourmand (2009) is used, which explains how political changes can affect companies, both directly through legislation and indirectly through other companies. The conclusions drawn are that: Relationships between insurance companies and insurance brokers are affected by regulations such as the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) and that the relationship begins to change even before the regulation is implemented. The relationship between the companies influences the extent to which companies are exposed to direct and indirect influence as a result of political regulations. The degree of indirect impact on the various companies can affect the relationship between the companies. A political change can contain both supporting and compelling elements.

The thesis focuses on the situation when the carousel structure is misused for illegal activities, specifically fraud in the system of value added tax, and thus brings the term carousel fraud into life. The main objective of this thesis is to understand the issue of fraud on the value added tax, process and analyze the impact of carousel fraud and try to find possible solutions to reduce this fraud, or possibly eliminate it. This is a current issue of considerable importance. Its timeliness has been evident in legislative activity in recent years, and currently solved cases. The importance of the problem is eventually illustrated by the value of both the volume of VAT in the tax collection and also the amount of tax arrears arising from carousel fraud. The thesis offers a description of the general characteristics and design of carousel fraud, practical examples how the fraud is performed in practice, and information about the legislation and case law associated with the fraud as such and what the possible defense is that the managing authorities can apply in the fight against carousel VAT fraud, while the question of whether the carousel fraud can be completely eliminated is also considered.

Previous issue date: 1997 / Resumo: Este trabalho propõe uma metodologia alternativa para o desenvolvimento e evolução do AIOA, um software para o gerenciamento e análise de dados experimentais, em desenvolvimento na Embrapa. Esta nova metodologia consiste no uso combinado da técnica OMT (Object Modeling Technique) com a linguagem de especificação formal SOL (Specification and Oescription Language), e apresenta facilidades que produzem ga¿n ANTPOT. H¿os no processo de desenvolvimento de software, como a possibilidade de validação e de simulação do sistema, e também a geração de código para sua prototipação. A partir do modelo de classes proposto pela OMT, passa-se à especificação do sistema em SOL, levando-se em conta na elaboração de ambos os modelos, conceitos como reuso, herança e evolução de sistemas. A validação, a simulação e a geração de código do sistema tornam-se possíveis com o uso da ferramenta CASE SOT1(SOL Oesign Tool - Telelogic, Suécia). É apresentada a evolução do ambiente AIOA centralizado até uma versão distribuída, considerando uma arquitetura cliente-servidor com mecanismo CORBA, bem como exemplos de simulação e de validação destes sistemas / Abstract: The present work proposes an alternative methodology for the development and evolution of AIOA, a software environment for the management and analysis of experimental data, being developed at Embrapa, Brazil. This new technique consists of the combined use of OMT (Object Modeling Technique) with the formal specification language SDL (Specification and Description Language), in its 1992 version SDL-92, presenting strong facilities on the software development process, allowing the validation, simulation and eventual code generation for software prototyping. From the system object model and after mapping to SOL-92, the formal specification is generated considering concepts such as reuse, inheritance, and system evolution. The validation, the simulation and code generation of the system is allowed through the use of the CASE tool SOT (SOL Oesign Tool - Telelogic, Sweden). The specification of the centralized AIOA to its evolution to distributed version are presented, validated and simulated. This is followed up with a specialization and validation of thedistributed AIOA, considering an arquitecture client-server with CORBA mechanism / Mestrado / Telecomunicações e Telemática / Mestre em Engenharia Elétrica
