<p>The aim of this report is to increase the knowledge and understanding of the problems within the production at AQ Enclosure systems, and thereby achieve a more stable flow throughout the whole process, a better working environment and better competition advantages. The internal flow along with the external cooperation is very important for the company, because it views flexibility and short leadtime as it is the most important competitive means. The part of AQ production that’s been investigated is the manufacturing of ATM-machines, where the costumer is Banqit. This company is a rater small company with about 4 % of the world market of ATM-machines.</p><p>In order to achieve the aim of the report extensive interviews have been carried out with employees at AQ. Employees in both the administrative part as well as the manufacturing part has been interviewed. The interviews have been conducted in a way were the respondents have had the opportunity to study the questions in advance.</p><p>The survey has given a result which indicates problem over a wide scale. A lot of the company problems do not lie in a particular department; they rather include the whole company. The picture of their problems became more complex whereas different respondents look at the same problems in different ways. One big difference in views was clearly identified between office staff and the producing staff. The problems that emerged were not related to lack of machine capability, the problems were rather linked to the managing of production and organization. One example of this problem is the producing personnel’s lack of knowledge and commitment to the company philosophy. The problems concerning management also reflect in a rather strong feeling that divides the company in two, us and them. This feeling affects the whole production line. The producing personnel feels that the office lack understanding of their everyday work and don’t encourage suggestions concerning process evolvement. One other big problem concerning AQ’s production is that some of their key suppliers are either single source or locked from their costumer Banqit.</p><p>The conclusions of the report shows several areas in which AQ can improve. One measure that the company can implement is introducing a more foreseeable and visual handling of their pallets within the factory. The company management ought to find ways to better mediate the production philosophy throughout the entire organization. Furthermore, the company management should increase the will to see potential ways of improving and increase the inclination of expressing those suggestions. The suggestions should not only concern the personnel’s own workplace but rather span over the entire process. The report also identifies possible areas of improvement concerning the internal and external team cooperation. The different teams ought to see each other as costumers and produce an equally good result regardless of if the item is produced for an internal department or an external costumer.</p>

Basierend auf den erfolgreichen Einsätzen von Lean Management in der Automobilbranche und darauffolgend in weiteren Wirtschaftszweigen übernahmen auch immer mehr große IT-Dienstleister diese Prinzipien und Konzepte.
Kaum ausgeprägt ist jedoch bisher der Einsatz von Lean Management in Unternehmen, die primär IT-Dienstleistungen für externe klein- und mittelständische Kunden anbieten. Die dazu notwendigen Produkte müssen individuell auf die Kundenanforderungen zugeschnitten sein und sind deshalb sehr heterogen und kostenintensiv. Werden die Potentiale in den Bereichen Personaleinsatz, Durchlaufzeiten und Qualität mittels der Anwendung von LM-Prinzipien ausgeschöpft, sind große Effizienzsteigerungen realisierbar.
Deshalb ist es wert, gerade auch für das klein- und mittelständische Dienstleistungssegment zu überlegen, wie die Lean-Management-Prinzipien trotz dieser komplexen Problemstellung umgesetzt werden können. Zu diesem Zweck wird in der Arbeit auf Basis der leanen Grundüberlegung Vermeidung von Verschwendung ein Modell entwickelt, das das schlanke Managementkonzept mit dem Best-Practise-Framework ITIL verknüpft. Die Umsetzung dieses Modells lässt Effizienzsteigerungen, Verbesserungen in der Prozessqualität sowie die Erhöhung der Kunden- und Mitarbeiterzufriedenheit erwarten. / Based on the successful Lean Management applications in the automotive industry and, subsequently, in other sectors of the economy, a growing number of large IT service providers has adopted these principles and concepts.
However, the use of Lean Management is hardly distinctive among companies that offer primarily IT services for external small and medium-sized customers. The products necessary for this must be individually tailored to customer requirements and are, therefore, heterogeneous and costly. If potential is fully utilized by applying Lean Management principles in the areas of human resource placement, lead times and quality, major gains in efficiency can be achieved.
It is, therefore, worth considering how Lean Management principles can be implemented, in spite of the complex problem statement, even for the
small and medium-sized service segment. Towards that end, within this paper a model is developed on the basis of the \"lean\" rationale of Waste Avoidance, which links the Lean Management concept with the Best Practice Framework of ITIL. The implementation of this model makes way for gains in efficiency, improvements in process quality, as well as increased satisfaction among customers and employees.

Previous issue date: 2016-04-21 / A crescente variedade de produtos nos sistemas atuais de produção é um grande desafio para a logística interna de abastecimento de materiais numa linha de montagem final, o abastecimento logístico precisa estar em concordância com a programação de produção de forma a disponibilizar para montagem o material necessário, no momento certo e na quantidade correta. A linha de montagem objeto do estudo acompanha esta tendência. Nela são montados modelos variados de chassis. Desta forma, o objetivo geral da pesquisa é desenvolver um modelo de abastecimento para linha de montagem multiprodutos, onde o ponto principal do trabalho é a definição do conceito mais adequado de acordo com o tipo e quantidade do material a ser abastecido. Através de uma pesquisa-ação foi proposto um modelo de abastecimento de linha que demonstrou uma redução de aproximadamente 50% da área ocupada na borda de linha, em consequência da redução de materiais, e aumento de 3% da produtividade, em virtude das reduções das indisponibilidades e perdas por set-up de abastecimento. / The increasing variety of products in current production systems is a big challenge for internal logistics supply of materials to a final assembly line, the logistic supply must be in step with the production program, in order to provide the necessary material for assembly at the right time and in the correct quantities. The assembly line which is the object of this study follows the trend. On it, several models of chassis are assembled. Therefore, the general objective of this research is to develop a supply model for a multi-product assembly line, with the main focus of the work on determining the most suitable concept in terms of the type and amount of material to be supplied. Through research-action, a model to supply the line has been proposed, which demonstrated a reduction of approximately 50% of the area occupied alongside the line, due to the reduction in materials, and an increase of 3% in productivity, owing to the reductions in outages and losses during supply set-up.

Previous issue date: 2016 / Mestrado Profissional em Enfermagem Assistencial / Pesquisa cujo objeto de investigação é a aplicação da ferramenta Kanban no processo de internação na clínica médica pediátrica de uma unidade hospitalar pública municipal. Tem por objetivo geral: elaborar o planejamento de aplicação da ferramenta Kanban para o processo de internação hospitalar de uma unidade pública pediátrica. Objetivos específicos: buscar evidências sobre a utilização da ferramenta Kanban na área da saúde; aplicar a ferramenta Kanban no processo de internação hospitalar na unidade pública pediátrica; adaptar a ferramenta para a especificidade do processo de internação hospitalar na unidade pública pediátrica em estudo. Trata-se de uma pesquisa participante, descritiva, com abordagem qualitativa, sobre a adaptação e aplicação de uma ferramenta administrativa de gestão denominada Kanban. Os resultados apontam que a introdução de uma ferramenta administrativa inovadora, em um serviço de saúde em unidade pública, requer a escolha objetiva de gestores locais que possuam poder de liderança e comando, tenham flexibilidade, sejam agregadores e conheçam profundamente sua equipe, sendo características essenciais para realização de um planejamento do plano de aplicação do Kanban como ferramenta de gestão na rotina diária dos profissionais da clínica médica pediátrica. Conclui-se ser essencial a adesão da equipe multiprofissional à aplicação da ferramenta no processo de hospitalização, havendo participação ativa dos setores chaves da unidade e apoio integral da direção. Neste processo, o vínculo criado entre o pesquisador e os participantes favorece a troca de conhecimento referente à situação investigada, de forma que, em conjunto, desenvolvam atitudes para solucionar interferências e encontrar a melhor forma de implantação e aplicação da ferramenta em sua rotina diária, de modo participativo. O Kanban aplicado à clínica médica pediátrica demonstra ir além da gestão de leitos, ele facilita a tomada de decisão sobre um tratamento ou diagnóstico instaurado, reduz o tempo de permanência da criança na unidade, subsidia a diminuição dos custos e possibilita a criação de indicadores específicos para área pediátrica / A study approaching the application of the Kanban tool in the process of hospitalization in the pediatric medical department of a municipal public hospital unit. Its main goal is to elaborate the planning of application of the Kanban tool for the hospitalization process of a pediatric public unit. It also presents the following specific goals: to seek evidence about the use of the Kanban tool in the health area; to apply the Kanban tool in the hospitalization process in the pediatric public unit; to adapt the tool to the specificity of the hospitalization process in the pediatric public unit under study. This is a participatory, descriptive study with a qualitative approach about the adaptation and application of an administrative management tool known as Kanban. The results indicate that the introduction of an innovative administrative tool in a public health service requires the objective choice for local managers who have leadership and command power, are aggregators, flexible and have a deep knowledge of their team, since these are essential characteristics to project the Kanban application plan as a management tool in the daily activities of pediatric medical clinic professionals. We concluded that the adhesion of the multiprofessional team to the application of the tool in the hospitalization process is essential, with active participation of the key sectors of the unit and integral support of the management. In this process, the link created between the researcher and the participants favors the exchange of knowledge regarding the investigated situation, so they can develop actions to solve interferences and find the best way to implement and apply the tool in their daily activities together. The Kanban tool, when applied to the pediatric medical clinic, is capable of reaching beyond bedside management, it also facilitates decision making on an established treatment or diagnosis, reduces the patients’ time in the unit, helps in the reduction of costs and allows the creation of specific indicators for pediatric area

El presente trabajo abarca el análisis de las operaciones de una empresa de producción industrial que abastece al sector de minería con productos como bandas de ventilación para sus operaciones. Para este tipo de empresas el manejo del inventario es vital pues de él depende si la operación es rentable o no, debido al alto costo unitario de sus productos. El análisis de la empresa identificó altos niveles de stock de productos en las instalaciones de la empresa lo cual en los últimos dos años aumento el costo logístico de la empresa reduciendo su rentabilidad. Esta situación implica la necesidad de optar por un sistema que permita mejorar la disposición de los inventarios y las actividades generadas en su manipulación. Para ello se propone un modelo basado en la implementación del VMI (Vendor Inventory Management) para lograr la optimización de la gestión del almacén e inventarios de la empresa CIDELSA. El motivo de esta propuesta nace de la necesidad de controlar el sobre stock generada en el producto mangas de ventilación para lo cual se propone un nuevo sistema de gestión de inventarios en la empresa, basado en el VMI, apoyado en el kanban y en la gestión de información de pronóstico de la demanda. Los resultados de la aplicación del modelo demuestran a través de la simulación del proceso que se logran mejoras en los principales indicadores de inventario como el aumento del índice de rotación, reducción del stock sin movimiento y la reducción de almacenamiento en las instalaciones de la empresa. / This paper covers the analysis of the operations of an industrial production company that supplies the mining sector with products such as ventilation bands for its operations. For these types of companies, inventory management is vital because it depends on whether the operation is profitable or not, due to the high unit cost of its products. The analysis of the company identified high levels of product stock in the company's facilities, which in the last two years increased the logistics cost of the company, reducing its profitability. This situation implies the need to opt for a system that allows improving the disposition of inventories and the activities generated in their handling. For this, a model based on the implementation of the VMI (Vendor Inventory Management) is proposed to achieve the optimization of the management of the warehouse and inventories of the company CIDELSA. The reason for this proposal arises from the need to control the excess stock generated in the product ventilation sleeves, for which a new inventory management system is proposed in the company, based on the VMI, supported by kanban and management demand forecast information. The results of the application of the model show through the simulation of the process that improvements are achieved in the main inventory indicators such as the increase in the turnover rate, reduction of the stock without movement and the reduction of storage in the company's facilities. / Trabajo de Suficiencia Profesional

Implementeringen av Leanverktyg i sågverksindustrin är fortfarande nyjämfört med andra industrier. Syftet med denna studie är därför att ökakunskapen om tillämpningen av Lean och se vilken effekt det har. Måletär att se vilka Lean-verktyg som är lämpliga för denna industri och hur dekan tillämpas. En kartläggning av fallföretagets nuvarande tillstånd skapasoch analyseras, och flera slöserier identifieras. Det undersöks också vilkaandra Leanverktyg som kan tillämpas effektivt. Ett TAK värde beräknasutifrån värdeflödesanalysen samt processens effektivitet. På grund avomständigheterna är våra resultat mycket missvisande och bättretillämpningar av Leanverktyg diskuteras. Som en följd av våraavgränsningar rekommenderas ytterligare forskning för att uppnå enbättre rapport. / The implementation of Lean tools in the sawmill industry is still new compared to the other industries. Therefore the purpose of this study is to increase the knowledge around the application of Lean and see the effect it has. The objective is to see which Lean tools are suited for this industry and how they can be applied. A map of the current state of the case company is created and analyzed, and several wastes are identified. It is also researched which other Lean tools can be applied effectively. An Overall equipment effectiveness value is calculated from the Value stream map as well as the process efficiency. Due to the circumstances our results are very misleading and better applications of Lean tools are discussed. As a consequence of our boundaries further research is advised to achieve a better report.
