Upprätthålla Balanserad Verksamhetsstyrning : Genom Metoden Balanced Scorecard / How to Sustain Balanced Business Management : By the Method Balanced Scorecard

Fredriksson, Sofie, Sjögren, Victoria, Slotte, Carl January 2019 (has links)
Business Management is central to all organizations, a popular approach is the Balanced Scorecard (BSC), but how this method should be adapted and used prevails over shared opinions. There have been many previous studies on the actual implementation phase and therefore this study intends to investigate the maintenance phase of BSC. At the centre of this study is experienced leaders with extensive BSC experience and their views about which motives that are critical when successfully maintaining a balanced operations management. We conducted a qualitative study, in which a goal-driven selection with criteria-driven focus was mainly applied. Five people in senior positions were interviewed about their experience working with BSC. The interviews were recorded, transcribed and coded and then analyzed by a theoretical analysis model created by ourselves. The model was compiled by disagreements, gaps and lack of opinions in BSC literature and research articles. The model was then used to analyze the empirical data. The results that emerged from this study showed that there are areas that affect, promote and inhibit balanced operations management. These areas need to be handled, combined and adapted to their own operations, furthermore the study also shows that BSC is a method that creates conditions for sustaining a balanced business management, given that the method is used correctly. The study is written in Swedish.

Proposal of framework for the validation of industrial symbiosis indicators using agent-based modeling / Proposta de framework para a validação de indicadores de simbiose industrial empregando a modelagem baseada em agentes

Mantese, Gabriel Couto 06 February 2018 (has links)
Industrial symbiosis is crucial to the formation of the eco-industrial parks. Several performance indicators have been proposed for measuring and monitoring the industrial symbiosis. The current focus of researches is on the proposal of these indicators, while it is still necessary to validate them, so they can become more robust and reliable. However, there is no specific validation methodology for this type of indicator. The central objective of this research was to develop a methodology specific for the analysis of industrial symbiosis indicators. The work resulted in a framework for the validation of industrial symbiosis indicators with the differential of combining the conceptual validation, based on the technical and theoretical information on the indicator, and the empirical validation, based on the analysis of the indicated behavior. The framework is composed of a set of activities and artifacts that support all validation steps, which includes a set of specific validation criteria for industrial symbiosis indicators, and a simulation model developed through the agent-based modeling technique, which is able to simulate all the industrial symbiosis indicators available in the literature, allowing the comparison between them. The specific validation criteria were verified through the judgment of experts in the validation of an indicator, the Industrial Symbiosis Indicator; and the simulation model was proposed and used for the comparison between all the indicators, being possible to identify their characteristics in different scenarios. By combining the two strategies, a validation instrument with significant progress in relation to the state of the art is reached; it can support researches in the proposal of new indicators.

Carmo, Adson Rocha do 21 November 2016 (has links)
In the present scenario, there is the constant search for organizations to remain competitive in the market. And to support the organization, both at the operational level and in the non-operational level, the Information Technology (IT) is used. In order to support the strategies organizations use the Business Process Management (BPM) to identify, define and evolve their business processes. Using these features, the framework Strategic Alignment with BPM (StrAli-BPM) is designed to contribute to improving the strategic alignment between the strategic and operational levels of the organization, through the treatment of non-functional requirements in the business process. This research project proposes to extend the StrAli-BPM framework with the creation of a new component to the extraction of organizational strategic goals information to be used in the modeling of non-functional requirements of business processes. To assist in improving the strategic alignment, the old version of StrAli-BPM framework uses the Agreements in Business Level (BLA) to treat the non-functional requirements. In addition to treating non-functional requirements through BLAs, the old version of StrAli-BPM framework defines the BLA should lead to agreements on service level (SLA), its mean, the SLAs should be derived from BLAs. However, this old version does not define what information the organizational strategic goals should be used to compose BLAs. The new component proposed in this research project, called Key Performance Indicator to Agreement on Business Level (KPI2BLA) aims to identify relevant information from organizational strategic goals should be used in the creation of requirements nonfunctional, which later must be used to create BLAs

For this, we selected a census of 100% of the listed real estate developers of the composition of the theoretical portfolio of shares. Data were collected through 2014 period the annual reports, published in digital form on the site of the 15 companies listed in the census and submitted the technical content analysis. Later they were classified into eight distinct categories, standardized and treated statistically (representativeness analysis) for analysis and interpretation. Are non-monetary indicators of citations in all the analyzed reports, among which stand out those that measure the public consumer, the volume produced and sold, and the performance of internal and external processes in general. This is because they have a diversity of these quotes most discussed indicators; however, include variations of the same index. Thus, most of the indices of the identified categories stands out for its importance as performance statements of operations. Thus this research provides a structured model of non-monetary metrics, can be used as a complement to the proposed disclosure of non-monetary metrics from the requirement for disclosure of the notes issued by the Accounting Pronouncements Committee - CPC. Thus bringing a contribution to the analysis method of real estate developers in the Brazilian scene. This study will serve as a source of information enabling future research seeking to identify the non-monetary indicators to assess performance and be a source of data organized indicators / Essa pesquisa teve por objetivo propor uma estrutura de métricas não monetárias para o setor imobiliário brasileiro divulgado pelas empresas que compõem o índice IMOB da Bovespa.

Balcão, Ivan Fillietaz 25 February 2019 (has links)
The Brazilian silviculture has more than 100 years of development, the Eucalyptus genetic improvement of has more than 60 years in Brazil. All this knowledge is what makes Brazil one of the most competitive countries in forest production. However, this competitiveness fell, mainly linked to the high cost of production, that in 2017 was higher than inflation. Innovations in the Eucalyptus productive process are necessary to maintain competitiveness. Most plantations today are clonal, ensuring a genetically equal growth potential, but this does not guarantee uniformity of development, since forestry plays an important role in making resources available for uniform plant development. The uniformity index demonstrates the similarity of individuals\' development in planting. This index, in clonal plantations, is mainly affected by the operational quality of forestry. The uniformity of planting has already been demonstrated as an indicator of the forestry quality, and commercial evaluations can be made through it. However, a method is not established that from a concept of when the variation of the uniformity index is a sign of behavioral changes in the forestry quality. The present work had as objective to apply and to validate a method of evaluation of the operational quality of forestry that helps and facilitates in strategic decisions. For that, the index of uniformity and the occurrence of changes verified through the process behavior chart were used as indicators. Two regions and four reform methods were evaluated. It is concluded that the evaluation method is valid and is able to capture the effects of the changes related to the 6 M\'s Cause and Effect Diagram and that even the company having made changes that generated an improvement in the uniformity index, it is still necessary to seek further adjustments for the the voice of the customer.

In this thesis the Third-Party Logistics (3PL) partnership between the Japanese trading company Gadelius and the European logistics provider Mahé is investigated. This was done as a case study, mainly taking place on location at Gadelius’ headquarter in Tokyo. The purpose has been to identify and evaluate the fulfilment of initial objectives, both with respect to agreed on terms and expectations of each party, analyze the reasons behind result and provide recommendations for the future. In terms of what is strictly defined and agreed on in the contract the partnership is principally fulfilled, but this setup is not good in terms of how full 3PL-effects could be achieved. The not so strictly defined parts of the contract stating that Mahé should work proactively are however not fulfilled to the same degree. This is connected to the lack of a dedicated Mahé representative being integrated into the OtD-team at Gadelius. Because of this Gadelius’, to begin with very high, expectations on effects have become unrealistic, which has contributed to bad sentiments against Mahé and their capabilities. This has further been enhanced by Key Performance Indicators that don’t fully match the essential objectives with the partnership. To change the situation two possible ways for the future are presented. If Gadelius’ focus is on indirect cost reductions an expanded partnership should be chosen, while a focus on direct cost reductions and a need for an easier change implementation call for a more limited partnership. For both alternatives new ways for measuring performance are suggested.

The Impact of Adopting “Business Intelligence (BI)” in Organizations

Rahman, Shahbaaz January 2011 (has links)
In economically turbulent times, Business Intelligence (BI) is increasingly being used to mitigate risk and increase certainty. The evolution of BI from a series of technologies to a platform for supporting strategies is analyzed in this thesis. The concentration is on how BI can streamline manufacturing, quality assurance, marketing and customer service are evaluated, as are the potential payoffs of increasing the level of insight an organization has. The thesis also includes analysis of how the more complex value chain processes including build-to-order, configure-to-order and quote-to-order can be made more efficient and profitable through the inclusion of BI and its associated analytics and technologies. The inclusion of the Delphi research technique makes this paper unique and strong in its content as well. The role of BI has shifted from being used in specific functional areas of an organization to being strategic in scope. The intent of this thesis is to evaluate its contributions to the customer-facing processes that are the most complex and most challenging to sustain, making BI an indispensible platform for their successful execution on the base of theories and practical experience of the BI experts.
