Análise do papel da morfologia e do uso do solo na gênese e na distribuição das feições erosivas na bacia do córrego Espraiado, São Pedro (SP) / Analysis of the role of morphology and land use in the genesis and in the distribution of erosional features in the Espraiado basin, São Pedro (SP)

Evandro Daniel 25 September 2012 (has links)
The anthropic and morphometric factors are significant in the formation of runoff, soil management and concentration flows and debris. In the São Pedro city (SP) is recognized to exist of these processes, being classified, according to the erosion map of São Paulo state as high susceptibility. Thus, the Espraiado basin, located in this city, was selected to analyze the genesis and distribution of erosional features by the influence of morphometric parameters (curvature, slope and elevation) and anthropic in the evolutionary scale (1962, 1972, 2000 and 2006) and also an integrated and quantitative analysis (erosional features, land use and morphometric parameters), by calculating the following index: Erosion Concentration (EC) and Erosion Potential (EP). The first index is the ratio of the number of cells in each class affected by the erosion areas to the total number of cells in the basin, while the second index is the ratio of the number of cells in each class affected by the areas of erosion to the total number of cells in the same class. In the erosional features maps, we observed from 1962 to 2006 scenario, that the total area of erosional features decrease, in which the head drainages revealed the sector with the highest occurrence and concentration of features. The land use map showed that the increase of the percentages of the forest, of the urban area consolidated and the forestry, and the reduction of exposed soil and pasture were the role played on the reducing the erosive features, although the class of urban area consolidated was directly influenced in the new features and developments of the others. The integrated analysis showed that the concave curvature, the slope between 20 and 40% and the classes of exposed soil and pasture were the most susceptible and are primarily in the headwaters, a sector that is associated with very thick soils. These areas of high concentration runoff flow and debris, with fragile lithology and have a PE high, is related to the presence of curvature concave, in profile and plant, and concentrated flows, as well as high slope that increases the erosive power of the flow, factors that are associated with the erosion formation. The index also indicated that even the areas with the presence of convex or straight curvatures, slopes between 0 and 15%, with low PE but with significant anthropogenic changes, obtained an increase of the potential occurrence of erosional features, as well as classes use with low PE when associated with morphometric parameters of high, caused an increase of erosional features.

Among them, calorie reduction, restriction of sugar, reduction of fat and sodium, targeting disease prevention and treatment of certain deficiencies. According to this market demand, combined with politics to encourage technological advancement, we searched for a food that meets those needs. In this context the expansion of the internal market of chocolates, with 14% of increase in chocolate consumption between 2009 and 2010, together with competitiveness and requeriments for segment¿s innovation. Therefore, the objetive of this project is to formulate different diet lactose free chocolates, produced based on soy protein extract, using four different sweeteners to replace sucrose. Furthermore, the same sweeteners are incorporated in the milk chocolates mass, thereby ensuring a comparison between the samples. The sweeteners analyzed were sucralose, rebaudioside and neotame, and polydextrose and erithritol as bulk agents. The sweetness equivalent was determined by time-intensity analysis for sweet taste. Two descriptive sensory tests were conduced to characterize the formulated products. A Quantitative Descriptive Analysis was done with 11 trained painel, who rated 17 parameters during individual sessions to analyze and describe all the chocolates similar regarding the cocoa flavor and aroma of cocoa butter. The time-intensity analysis have been conduced with the most important attributes for chocolate analysis of time, such as tastes sweet and bitter, chocolate flavor and melting in the mouth. Both an affective evaluation was conducted through the acceptance test with at least 112 potential consumers of chocolates. The processing parameters of chocolates were also controlled, as medium particle size during the refining mass and index value of tempering. After eight hours of conching and controlled cooling, the chocolate were evaluated for viscosity and texture analysis. Complementing the characterization of the product, a study of shelf life was done during 12 months, which the chocolates were stored in the camera 23ºC. The objective of this study was justified considering that chocolate are marketed and highly appreciated worldwide for consumers of different age groups. Through multiple time-intensity for sweet taste, sweetners concentrations were determined, 0,075% to sucralose, 0,0215% to rebaudioside, 0,005% to neotame, 17% to polydextrose and 26% to erithritol. The results of acceptability for chocolate soy showed consumer acceptance until six months of storage. In contrast, the milk chocolates remained with acceptance values between 4,8 to 6,0 (considering 9-point scale) on the deadline of 12 months of study. Sucralose showed similar sensory compared to control, aiming at the replacement of the sucrose, as evidenced by the QDA, multiple time-intensity and acceptance. Attributes as brigthness and homogeneity have positively contributed for chocolate acceptance, realized in Partial Least Square between milk and soy chocolates, QDA attributes and global feeling to acceptance test. On the other hand, cocoa butter aroma as attribute that contributed with negative form to accetpance by consumers. The calculated caloric reduction of around 28% on all chocolates formulated claim the denomination light / diet of these foods to the public in question. Thus, individuals who have metabolic disorders such as lactose intolerance or diabetes, plus related allergies to milk proteins may benefit from these options of chocolate products / Doutorado / Consumo e Qualidade de Alimentos / Doutor em Alimentos e Nutrição

Couplage ablation laser et imagerie spectrale rapide pour identification et analyses de plastiques : concept, développement et validation / Coupling between laser ablation and fast spectral imaging for the identification and the analysis of plastics : concept, development and validation

Negre, Erwan 17 March 2016 (has links)
All the elements of the periodic table can be detected with a detection limit close to the ppm, regardless of the nature of sample: solid, liquid or gas. LIBS can perform elemental as well as molecular analysis, which makes it a trustworthy technique for the identification of organic materials, especially with reference to plastic waste sorting where the established techniques experience some difficulties to fulfill all the requirements of this issue. Nevertheless, the laser-induced plasma is a transient and inhomogeneous process regularly hard to master in comparison with an inductively coupled plasma. As a consequence, LIBS technique still remains marginal for the applications demanding a reliable and frequently quantitative information. This doctoral research, which falls within the framework of a partnership between the CRITT Matériaux Alsace and the Institut Lumière Matière in Lyon, proposes to examine the two issues mentioned above. A new LIBS instrument is first given. It is organized around several monitoring tools driven by a dedicated software which allowed us to considerably reduce the fluctuations of the LIBS signal coming from the different factors involved in the process of laser ablation (laser energy, sample and detection positions, etc…). The efficiency of this new LIBS instrument is then illustrated through the example of the quantification of trace elements in glass matrices

From the storyboard to the storyboard artist : a comparative study of a film practice in France and in the United States

Russell, Diane 28 September 2011 (has links)
The starting point of this work involves a quantitative analysis of the object »storyboard » applied on a large corpus. The taxonomy here established, crossed witha qualitative approach, allows one to reveal communication codes and invariantsinherent to this preproduction device. This first leads to the definition of the toolstoryboard among other film preparation drawings. The classification of the dataaccording to its period then brings a new perspective to the analysis: it is through theobject, vestige of its own story and vector of ideas, from which are drawn the socialinteractions and the professionalization of those who manufacture it. The studyconcerns two different conceptions of the storyboarding practice, on both sides of theAtlantic Ocean

Stress in the workplace : the phenomenon, some key correlates and problem solving approaches

Vogel, Fergus Ruric 14 November 2007 (has links)
In this study the researcher set out to determine the levels and the causes of workplace stress, as well as the consequences of stress in terms of witnessed and experienced aggression in the workplace, anxiety, depression, and worry for a sample of 205 subjects. To achieve this, the following tests were used: 1) Experience of Work and Life Circumstances Questionnaire, 2) the Aggression in the Workplace Questionnaire, 3) the IPAT Anxiety Scale,4) the Beck Depression Inventory, and 5) the Penn State Worry Questionnaire. The subjects’ ability to cope withexperienced stressors in relation to social problem solving was examined with the Social Problem-Solving Inventory-Revised. The raw data were analysed by means of the usual descriptivestatistics. In addition, inferential statistics including z-tests, t-tests, analysis of variance and posthoc analyses (Scheffé) were conducted for the following groups: total group, gender, marital status, age, organizational type, qualification and position level. Results indicate that most of the subjects in the sample experienced normal levels of stress, indicating that the participants generally experienced their circumstances within or outside the workplace as satisfactory. Generally, the results also indicated that their expectations regarding their work situation were met. With reference to the consequences of stress, the total sample reported low levels of witnessing and experiencing workplace aggression, normal levels of anxiety, low levels of depression and worry. Good overall social problem solving suggests the ability to cope with demands and stressors within and outside the workplace. Generally, Pearson correlations indicated significant relationships between a) levels of stress as experienced by subjects and b) witnessed and experienced workplace aggression, c) anxiety, d) depression, e) worry and f) social problem solving. That most of the subjects in this sample were able to deal effectively with the demands and stressors placed on them, from within and outside the workplace suggests the ability to use effective problem-focused coping involving social problem solving which for most participants, was due to a positive problem orientation and effective rational problem solving skills. These findings may be useful as part of a stress management programme to help employees deal with stress proactively by becoming more effective problem-solvers. In terms of a salutogenic paradigm, and consistent with recent developments in positive psychology, the findings indicate that more attention should be paid to possible reasons why some employees appear to cope with stress more effectively than others. / Thesis (PhD (Psychology))--University of Pretoria, 2008. / Psychology / PhD / unrestricted

[en] OPERATIONAL RISK MEASUREMENT AND ASSESSMENT: A CASE STUDY OF HEDGE OPERATION IN PETROLEUM INDUSTRY / [pt] AVALIAÇÃO E MENSURAÇÃO DE RISCOS OPERACIONAIS: UM ESTUDO DE CASO EM OPERAÇÕES DE HEDGE NA INDÚSTRIA DO PETROLEO

CAMILA CRISPIM BASTOS 18 March 2011 (has links)
[en] Before 1990, market and credit risk measures were the major sources of academic research in finance field, motivated by finance industry. However as a consequence of recent financial scandals in the banking industry, involving fraud and human errors, which caused catastrophic losses and even bankruptcy of many institutions around the world, a new and unexplored kind of risk has started to be studied which is called the operational risk. It is defined as the risk of loss resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people and systems or from external events. Due to its risk characteristics, it is present in all kind of industry but most academic researches and methodologies are developed for financial institutions. After an extensive search, we didn’t find bibliographic references similar to those in banking sector which could elucidate the operational risk management level of maturity for other sectors. We could not even find a commom definition and classification of operational risks for other industries. Thus, this work intends to explore frameworks and methodologies, developed by financial industry for evaluation and measurement of operational risk, to see how this method can be extended for other industries. Additionally, we applied these concepts and methodologies for a sector of an oil and gas company.

Desenvolvimento e automatização de um método teórico para a avaliação quantitativa da seletividade de proteínas do MHC por diferentes antígenos / Development and automation of a theoretical method for quantitative evaluation of the MHC proteins of different antigens selectivity

Jackson Gois da Silva 25 June 2004 (has links)
In this work we automated the new methodology MHCalc, developed previously in our laboratory, which resulted in the computational program with the same name, written in C language to GNU/Linux environment. The program MHCalc evaluates quantitatively the selectivity of a given MHC protein. This quantitative evaluation allows the establishment of a preference scale of the naturally occurring residues for each pocket of a MHC molecule. From such a study it may be derived composition rules to peptides recognizable in each allele studied, even in the absence of experimental data. The methodology developed in our laboratory is based on the selectivity evaluation of each pocket independently, through its interaction energy with each naturally occurring amino acid. The program MHCalc uses the molecular modeling package THORMM [Moret, 1998] to optimize the geometry of the structures described below, and needs as only entry the PDS like file with the coordinates of the MHC/peptide complex. The program finishes printing out a data file containing the naturally occurring residues in preference order for each pocket and the data used to order these residues. We tested the program MHCalc to the complex molecule HLA-DR1 (DRA DRB1 *01 01) with the Hemaglutinin peptide, obtained at the BrookHaven Prote in Data Bank (1 DLH entry). This system was chosen because it has been highly studied and so offers abundant experimental and theoretical data to compare our results. We obtained data referring to pocket 1 so far, which is in full agreement with the literature.
