This dissertation aims to analyze the formation of teachers in the context of the new capitalist sociability from a specific acceleration policy to students’ learning implemented in the State of Minas Gerais - Program “Acelerar Pra Vencer”. The goal is to understand how the principles and strategies of the program, implemented in 2008 by the State of Minas Gerais Education, corroborate the globalization of the capital, a new way of being, thinking and acting as a capitalist. The main question of this research is: How the mineiro Program Acceleration to Learning "Acelerar Para Vencer" (PAV) is included in teacher education policy, considering the state reform context in Minas Gerais. In this sense, I started from the following question analyze this movement based on historical dialectic materialism method, conducting a survey to raise some essential aspects since the 1990s, allowing the understanding of current educational environment. It is necessary to understand the actual conjuncture, such as teacher training is carried forward the requirement for success in targeted educational policies such as the program “Acelerar Para Vencer”, rising the educational quality as required. In this sense, compensatory education, technical and large scale, which includes the acquisition of new values, skills and specific skills, it becomes essential and sufficient to solve historical gaps in education, forming a "new type" of teacher, molded into this new capitalist sociability. That said, we see this training is aimed at a technical perspective, pragmatic, managerial, according to the neoliberal assumptions. It is important to emphasize that these actions refer to the business model that has been reported to education, preparing their students exclusively to simple work, thus constituting the labor market, boosting the development of the country, and the world economy.

O feitiço do jogo: sociabilidade entre homens no Parque Halfeld de Juiz de Fora / The game spell: sociability among men at the Halfeld Park in Juiz de Fora

This work is intended to reflect, anthropologically, on the themes of masculinity, old age and the characteristic aspects of the play, based on an ethnography carried out in an area of sociability among men, old preponderantly, who gather daily to practice card games in Halfeld Park, located in the city of Juiz de Fora. I seek, first, address issues relating to ethnography, from my insertion in the field, in order to show the paths taken during the work, relating the initial perceptions of the object and the deconstructions that arise from the discovery process of the game territory. The word "spell" used in the title and throughout the text, refers to the intensity of the way in which the game captivates the player to constitute an "artificial world," different from the seriousness required in everyday life, resulting in a sociability in which the game content and the social games built from it are the greatest motivators. Besides the game itself, the spell can only be fully realized along with social game of joking relationships. With verbal taunts and physical performances of indecency and rudeness, mediated by a "learn to play", canalizes the everyday stress through such joke conflicts that involve the combination of a pretense hostility and real friendliness. It is also in a joking way that issues such as old age and masculinity are approached without the need to be taken seriously. Although it is a territory mainly occupied by men over sixty years, the discourses and practices of players and audience found in the field demonstrate a failure in the identification with the categories of "old" and "elderly", which appear to be associated with a number of negative characteristics attributed to old age. Being a intrassexual male sociability, experiences found in the field such as the phrase "turn into man" illustrate a constant (re) construction of masculinity from gestures and speeches that seek to attribute feminine characteristics to a man intending to disqualify him before others putting into doubt the maleness of the accused by homophobia. Dealing with the topic of sexuality in old age, despite of gerontologists expectations who suggests men to seek new erogenous zones, sexual interest of players and audience still appear strongly associated with the hegemonic model of masculinity that gives intense valorization of penetration and erectile performance.

Each author, in her own fashion, unveiled ¿ through private feminine writing ¿ the universe of cooking. The recipes¿ lexicon indicates the preparing techniques employed, the modernization of the household appliances and house spaces, the available ingredients at the period studied, the perpetuations and discontinuities of the dishes and of the home life. Based on the food recipes, source and object of the study, we will attempt to comprehend in which way the fooding habits have been cemented through time in a given social space. The reading and the analysis of such documents bring to light details about the family life, the economic, cultural, and social dynamics of the coffee farmers elite in the period between 1860 and 1940, reinforcing the hypothesis that the feeding habits used to operate as an instrument for the creation and maintenance of friendship bonds, as well as a social belonging vehicle / Doutorado / Politica, Memoria e Cidade / Doutora em História

Cultura e sociabilidade no museu de arte: etnografia dos visitantes da Pinacoteca do Estado / Culture and sociability at the Art Museum: ethnography of the visitors of Pinacoteca do Estado

Julio Cesar Talhari 30 September 2014 (has links)
This research analyzes, from an ethnographic point of view, the visitors of Pinacoteca do Estado, in São Paulo. Although it is the oldest art museum in the city, the Pinacoteca is, along with other cultural institutions in the region of Luz, amid processes of revitalization through culture. These processes are part of global urban phenomena that come redefining the role of museums in the urban context and relating them to broader economic processes. However, this research seeks a departure from the analyses that understand museums as part of a culture of consumption and see their visitors only as consumers. Nevertheless, it is not proposed here an anthropology of consumption in spite of the remarkable overcoming of a moral approach to the subject which is based on a split between subject and object and understands the material relations only as forms of representation of deeper classifications and cultural divisions of social groups. Actually, we try to understand the behavior of Pinacotecas visitors in their forms of sociability, as well as the relationship of these visitors with the objects of art based on an anthropological perspective of art and material culture. This perspective allows conceiving artworks as people, which dynamizes and complexifies relations with material objects. Thus, we analyze, situationally, the relationship of the Pinacotecas visitors so that by works of art and the bonds of sociability, social interactions can be expanded and instead of occasion for symbolic and social distinction, the visit can be understood as an opportunity for personal construction.

This dissertation approaches the relationship between insecurity imaginaries and transformations of everyday life and the urban landscape in the cities of Pelotas and Rio Grande - RS. Using a qualitative approach that fits the so-called case study design and combines several strategies and techniques of data collection from an ethnographic perspective, e.g. systematic observation, questionnaire and unstructured interviews, this research analyzes the re-significances of social imaginaries that come from the culture of fear and surveillance to account, on the one hand, of the changes in daily life and, consequently, in the sociability in those cities; and, on the other hand, the incorporation of securitization dispositives into the urban landscape. These transformations take place within the scope of private security that reflects, at the same time as it structures the meanings that make up the imaginaries, based on the valuations and moralities that accompany the consumption dynamics of these dispositives, as a strategy that individuals use to protect themselves and take care. Finally, it offers considerations that based on a focus centered on the symbolic and material expressions observed in the cities of Pelotas and Rio Grande, serve to theorize and leave open questions about the issue of insecurity and contemporary society.

De l'imaginaire initiatique. Les mythes postmodernes ou le dépassement de l'existence tragique / Of the initiatic imaginary. Postmoder myths or the overtaking of tragic existence

Vincent, Frédéric 08 December 2010 (has links)
This research project would like to show that a new era is established (postmodernity) where initiatic imaginary reinvents a new form of socialization. It’s a matter of questioning social practices related to initiatic imaginary (cosplay, japan expo, plays on line), as well as the impact caused in the everyday life of individuals. In fact, we shall wonder whether the initiatic imaginary involves changes of behaviors, creates habitus. What it is necessary to underline, it is that the postmodern man reaches the field of sacred, takes an initiatic step, from what he lives in the fictional worlds. This way of being is completely legitimate, and is connected without any doubt with a new way of living archaic initiation, the main thing being to find a magic direction of the world. Thus we shall be brought to question fantastic function of initiatic imaginary, that is its capacity symbolically to order an authentic direction to social existence and to allow individual to overtake the tragic aspect of opaque reality.

The influence of harm avoidance and novelty seeking temperament traits on emotional processing

Muller, Jacomien 03 December 2012 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to explore the differences within specific temperament traits on emotional processing bias. Participants with extremes in temperament traits Harm Avoidance and Novelty Seeking were categorised and their performance on a computerised neuropsychological test battery was investigated. First year psychology students at a residential university in South Africa were invited to participate in the original study. Processing of the data yielded a realised sample of 431 participants who completed the Emotions battery, which comprised of four tasks. The results show that processing of affective valence varies according to individual differences within specific temperament traits. The findings suggest a negative emotion processing bias in the High HA group in comparison to the low HA group. Furthermore, the impulsive and extroverted High NS group show an increased ability to process emotional faces in comparison to the low NS group. The implications of these findings are discussed in the context of putative risk factors for psychopathological disorders. / Dissertation (MA)--University of Pretoria, 2013. / Psychology / unrestricted

A role for CRH and HPA Activation in the Regulation of Plasticity Signaling, Neuroinflammation and Emotional/Mnesic Behavior Following Global Cerebral Ischemia in Rats

Barra de la Tremblaye, Patricia January 2016 (has links)
Depression occurs in about one third of patients with stroke and cardiac arrest. Hyperactivity of the stress system is the most commonly observed neuroendocrine change in major depressive disorder (MDD), which involves elevated levels in the cerebrospinal fluid of corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH), a key stress neurohormone. Substantial evidence suggests that normalization of the stress system may be a requirement for successful treatment of MDD through region-specific changes in the mesocorticolimbic circuitry. Thus, alteration in the stress system may underlie the emotional and functional impairments observed following brain ischemic events. In addition, recent findings suggest that ischemic brain injury triggers a restorative process, creating a cerebral environment similar to that of early brain development, a period characterized by rapid neuronal growth and neuroplasticity, critical to optimize functional recovery of individuals post stroke. In particular brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), has been shown to play an important role in the pathophysiology of major depression and cerebral ischemia. However, whether CRH can mediate the expression of BDNF in the reparative process triggered by ischemic injury remains to be characterized. Therefore, the purpose of the current thesis is to characterize the effect of pharmacological blockade of CRH signaling at the onset of a global ischemic stroke, on emotional and cognitive behaviors, alteration in the neuroendocrine stress system, and markers of neuroplasticity including BDNF. To do this, an animal model of global cerebral ischemia with subsequent behavioral testing and postmortem brain analysis was used to determine underlying biochemical and behavioral changes modulated by CRH signaling following brain ischemia. This doctoral work will help elucidate the relationship between CRH and BDNF in the context of cerebral ischemia, and may provide insights for therapies targeting the stress system. These studies address considerations such as: the interplay between stress, neuroplasticity and emotionality, and whether global ischemia can affect mood via changes in the HPA axis response.

Labeur, Christine 24 September 2011 (has links)
Natural disasters have regularly been in the news in France. These extreme weather events call into question the entire chain of natural hazard management because they are regarded as resulting from a meteorological phenomenon of extraordinary magnitude, but also especially serious malfunctions in the protection of populations against natural elements, especially during the alert . This key moment, which determines much of the event, remains difficult to control despite the progress made by agencies to forecast weather. Indeed, it is essentially based on individual initiatives and raises the question of accountability of managers towards unplanned actions, the latter may even exacerbate the crisis. This thesis’ objective is to study the reactivity of the population during a disaster and to show what is special about sociability event, phenomenon microsocial both temporary and strongly turned towards others. The study site is flooding in the lower Rhone Valley between 1755 and 2003. Using the historical approach is justified primarily by the desire to highlight the permanence in human behavior during disasters and then by the need to illustrate the present concept of risk culture. The empirical data consist of archive material and interviews with key players in disaster. These data were analyzed by standard methods of content analysis and statistical methods (textual data analysis with Alceste© and the study of social networks by the relational data with R©).
