Initialiser et calibrer un modèle de microsimulation dynamique stochastique : application au modèle SimVillages / Initialize and Calibrate a Dynamic Stochastic Microsimulation Model : application to the SimVillages Model

Lenormand, Maxime 12 December 2012 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to develop statistical tools to initialize and to calibrate dynamic stochastic microsimulation models, starting from their application to the SimVillages model (developed within the European PRIMA project). This model includes demographic and economic dynamics applied to the population of a set of rural municipalities. Each individual, represented explicitly in a household living in a municipality, possibly working in another, has its own life trajectory. Thus, model includes rules for the choice of study, career, marriage, birth children, divorce, migration, and death. We developed, implemented and tested the following models : • a model to generate a synthetic population from aggregate data, where each individual lives in a household in a municipality and has a status with regard to employment. The synthetic population is the initial state of the model. • a model to simulate a table of origin-destination commuting from aggregate data in order to assign a place of work for each individual working outside his municipality of residence. • a sub-model to estimate the number of jobs in local services in a given municipality in terms of its number of inhabitants and its neighbors in terms of service. • a method to calibrate the unknown SimVillages model parameters in order to satisfy a set of criteria. This method is based on a new Approximate Bayesian Computation algorithm using importance sampling. When applied to a toy example and to the SimVillages model, our algorithm is 2 to 8 times faster than the three main sequential ABC algorithms currently available.

[en] PROJECTS FOR THE WEB (WORLD WIDE WEB) - FRONTIERS BETWEEN DESIGN AND COMPUTING: ASPECTS OF WEB SITES DOCUMENTATION, MAINTENANCE AND MANAGEMENT / [pt] PROJETOS PARA WWW (WORLD WIDE WEB) - FRONTEIRAS ENTRE DESIGN E INFORMÁTICA: ASPECTOS DE DOCUMENTAÇÃO, MANUTENÇÃO E GERÊNCIA DE SITES

MARIA DAS GRACAS DE ALMEIDA CHAGAS 07 October 2003 (has links)
[en] Web sites are complex projects, that incorporate Design and Computing elements, for content publication in the World Wide Web. The present work has as a starting point the hypothesis that large scale Web sites (corporate ones or not), which demand fast, daily and organized updates have caracteristics of Industrial Design Projects, where it is necessary the existence of documents that make possible their reproduction and continuity. Therefore, the documentation is a fundamental tool that should work efficiently in its update and management process. This research work focus on the documentation process of PUC- Rio`s Web site. It has been taken into account Design and Computing issues present in this process, as well as issues present in the border and intersections of these two areas. The objective was to analise the data collected, and extract recommendations and conclusions about the methodologic issues, forms and formats of information representation envolved in the generation of PUC-Rios Web Site documentation and its use as a tool for the sites developing and updating process. There have been identified many interdisciplinary aspects of this research s theme that can be studied further on. And considering the small number of publications with similar approach, we believe this work represents an important contribuition to the areas related to Web sites documentation, updating and management.

Recalage stochastique robuste d'un modèle d'aube de turbine composite à matrice céramique / Robust stochastic updating of a ceramic matrix compositeplate using experimental modal data

Lepine, Paul 29 September 2017 (has links)
They arepart of the uncertainty quantification framework for model validation. The aim is to enhance the existing toolused by the industrial decision makers. Indeed, consequent dispersion was measured during the experimentalcampaigns preventing the use of deterministic approaches. The first part of this thesis is dedicated to therelationship between mechanical science and uncertainty. Thus, Verification and Validation was introduced asthe processes by which credibility in numerical models is established. Then two stochastic updatingtechniques, able to handle statistic distribution, were compared through an academic example. Nevertheless, taking into account uncertainties doesn’t remove potential compensating effects between parameters. Therefore, criteria were developed in order to detect these disturbing phenomena. Info-gap theory wasemployed as a mean to model these lack of knowledge. Paired with the stochastic updating method, a robuststochasticapproach has been proposed. Results demonstrate a trade-off relationship between the model’sfidelity and robustness. The developed tools were applied on a ceramic matrix composite turbine blade finiteelement model.

Schwingungen von Offsetdruckmaschinen

Gao, Xingliang 01 July 2001 (has links)
This work provides a detailed systematical research about the frame vibrations of web-offset-printing machines and sheetfed-offset-printing machines. It serves to identify the modal properties (natural frequencies and mode shapes) and to simulate the forced vibrations. The experimental and theoretical modal analysis have been realised at three web-offset-printing machines. The influences of the base, installation and screw connection on the modal properties have been analysed, furthermore the stand security under seismic excitation has been verified. The FE-models of all four investigated offset-printing machines have been built under consideration of their characteristics and have been updated with measurement results. Forced vibrations of sheetfed-offset-printing machines have been simulated on four different excitations and for uneven installation. The results of this work can be used for the further development of printing-machines.

Gesto. Význam objektu v šedé zóně veřejného prostoru / Gesture. Significance of an object in grey zone of public space

Sedlák, Michal January 2018 (has links)
The dissertation thesis deals with the relation of a person towards the physical public space from the point of view of an artist/teacher in the academic milieu. The frequently discussed subject of public space is not limited to purely artistic sphere or artistic gesture. It also implies a simple transgression to everyday life related to education and cultivation. An essential part of the research is the case study at the Department of Art Education of the Faculty of Education of the Charles University, which inquires into the perception of the future pedagogues of the physical public space and how they gtranslate it into the art language. The cornerstone stimulus for the research lies in the premise that future teachers will, through the prism of their view of the worl and by their vocation influence the education of the young generation. This fact of transgression is given by the existence of the subject of Art Education where the 3D design itself plays a certain role. The research is focused on what lies behind the phenomena in the process of the creation and inception of "something new" in the physical public space. The concept of a gesture represents a metaphor of material introduction into a space that, at some point, becomes a part o it .The integration is called actualization and the issue of the...

Hypnotic Suggestions: Their Nature and Applicability in Studying Executive Functions

Zahedi, Anoushiravan 30 July 2021 (has links)
Executive functions (EF) are a group of top-down processes used in novel situations to develop or adapt existing responses to the task at hand. Even though EFs are studied exhaustively, several important questions remain unanswered: (a) Are EFs entirely separated, or do they rely on a common system? (b) What do different versions of the Stroop task measure? (c) Does inhibition always need to be effortful? To address these questions, I investigated neurocognitive correlates of EFs and their enhancements by means of posthypnotic suggestions (PHS) and event-related potentials (ERP). However, before one can use PHSs, it must be elucidated whether and how they affect EFs. Although PHSs are used repeatedly for improving inhibition, it is unclear whether their effects are mediated by bottom-up or top-down processes. By using an updating task, I showed that effects of PHSs can be attributed to top-down processes. Accordingly, a new theory of hypnosis was proposed and empirically tested by modeling hypnotizability scores with structural equation modeling. In short, the simulation-adaption theory suggests that several top-down processes are employed for responding to suggestions. After elucidating the driving mechanism of PHSs is mentally practicing a novel strategy, PHSs were used for addressing the questions regarding EFs. Summarizing (a) the psychometric and ERP results from several studies indicated that different EFs rely on both function-specific and shared neurocognitive processes. (b) Even though different versions of the Stroop task are tapping into inhibition, the vocal compared to the manual version has at least an extra response-production-related locus of interference. (c) Using PHSs for increasing preferences for low-calorie food items, it is shown that resolve is effortful to implement, as indicated by increased P300 amplitudes. Together, this project shows how PHSs, along with neuroimaging techniques, can provide a novel approach for investigating EFs.

Självskattning av exekutiva funktioner vid kognitiv träning : En utvärdering av The behavior rating inventory of executive functioning - self report / Self Rating of Executive Functioning After Cognitive Training : An Evaluation of The Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Functioning - Self Report

Jakobsson, Erik, Stocke, Elin January 2015 (has links)
Som utfallsmått valdes The behavior rating inventory of executive functioning - self report (BRIEF-SR). Gymnasieelever (n = 63) delades in i; aktiv träningsgrupp, aktiv placebogrupp och passiv kontrollgrupp. / Performance based measures have been the Golden standard when evaluating effects of cognitive training. By using The Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Functioning-Self Report (BRIEF-SR), this thesis aimed to explore self- rating scales as an alternative when evaluating effects of cognitive training. A sample of high school students (n = 63) and a mixed- effect model with pre- and post-measurements were chosen. The students were divided into three groups: active training, training with placebo or passive control. The two groups in training practiced with a computerized cognitive training program. The two training groups practiced with an adaptive and non-adaptive computer program, respectively.  With working memory as covariate ANCOVA reported no significant effects on self-rated executive functions independent of group condition. In sum, if ecological validity is of priority BRIEF-SR can be considered when measuring effects following cognitive training. In addition the results are discussed with regards to time between pre- and post-measurements, population and effects of expectancy.
