[pt] A Região Metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro vem passando por grandes transformações, com destaque para alguns municípios começaram a passar por um movimento de acumulação/expansão capitalista capaz de promover alterações até mesmo no imaginário de seus habitantes. Sendo assim, consideramos que essas mudanças são responsáveis por transformações espaciais no município de Seropédica, ocasionando fenômenos que se expressam como manifestações reais da busca do capital por novos espaços, conhecidos como condomínios logísticos. Objetivamos analisar, a partir do processo de metropolização, as lógicas promotoras do enraizamento desse capital logístico que expressa novas configurações na acumulação através do capital voltado para atividades terciárias, particularmente as práticas de terceirização. O município de Seropédica constitui uma localização estratégica para os condomínios logísticos diante do entroncamento viário em que se encontra, integrando a grande fronteira de expansão do Arco Rodoviário Metropolitano, vantagem espacial propiciadora de mobilidade necessária para esses capitais. / [en] The Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro has been undergoing major transformations, with emphasis on some municipalities have begun to undergo a movement of capitalist accumulation / expansion capable of promoting changes even in the imagination his inhabitants. Thus, we consider that these changes are responsible for spatial transformations in the county of Seropédica, causing phenomena that are expressed as real manifestations of the capital search for new spaces, known as logistic condominiums. We aim to analyze, from the metropolization process, the logics promoting the rooting of this logistical capital that expresses new configurations in the accumulation through that is directed to the tertiary activities, particularly the outsourcing practices. The county of Seropédica is a strategic location to the logistic condominiums in front of the road junction where it is located, integrating the large frontier of Metropolitan Roadway Arc expansion, spatial advantage conducive to mobility required for these capitals.

[pt] Esta dissertação visa contribuir entre múltiplas leituras geográficas sobre a Região Metropolitana de Manaus (RMM), em meio a delimitação para essa pesquisa, a presente dissertação tem como objeto a realização da política de alimentação escolar na distribuição e circulação do Programa de Regionalização da Merenda Escolar (Preme). Propõe-se assim, a partir da identificação na área de estudo, os municípios de Itacoatiara e Manacapuru compreender o Preme, enquanto política pública de alimentação escolar, que capta tanto a produção agrícola local de alimento quanto o hábito alimentar de estudantes em escolas públicas. Desse modo, essa pesquisa qualitativa tem como objetivo geral analisar a distribuição e circulação do Preme, uma política de alimentação escolar em Itacoatiara e Manacapuru, municípios da Região Metropolitana de Manaus. E os objetivos específicos são: 1. Analisar o Preme, enquanto uma política pública de Alimentação Escolar; 2. Caracterizar o Preme nos municípios de Itacoatiara e Manacapuru; 3. Analisar a distribuição e circulação, a partir das estruturas do Preme nos municípios de Itacoatiara e Manacapuru, inseridos na RMM. Com levantamentos de dados primários por meio de trabalho de campo e entrevistas. / [en] This dissertation aims to contribute between multiple geographic readings about the Metropolitan Region of Manaus (RMM), amid the delimitation for this research, this dissertation aims to carry out the school feeding policy in the distribution and circulation of the School Meal Regionalization Program (Preme). Thus, based on the identification in the study area, the municipalities of Itacoatiara and Manacapuru are proposed to understand Preme, as a public policy for school feeding, which captures both the local agricultural production of food and the eating habits of students in public schools. Thus, this qualitative research aims to analyze the distribution and circulation of Preme, a school feeding policy in Itacoatiara and Manacapuru, municipalities in the Metropolitan Region of Manaus. And the specific objectives are: 1. To analyze Preme as a public policy for School Feeding; 2. Characterize Preme in the municipalities of Itacoatiara and Manacapuru; 3. Analyze the distribution and circulation, from the structures of Preme in the municipalities of Itacoatiara and Manacapuru, inserted in the RMM. With primary data surveys through field work and interviews.

[pt] O setor de transporte é importante ator nas emissões de poluentes e gases de efeito estufa. Por isso, estimar as emissões deste setor é essencial para planejar medidas de redução destes poluentes e consequentemente mitigar os efeitos das mudanças climáticas. Neste contexto, na presente dissertação propomos uma metodologia de estimativa de inventário de emissão de gases de efeito estufa para a região metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro e fazemos uma projeção para os próximos anos do aumento da frota e de sua respectiva emissão de poluentes. Desta forma, espera-se que os fazedores de política e de planejamento urbano considerem alternativas menos poluentes, bem como investimento em outros modais para suprir o aumento da demanda para a mobilidade nesta região. / [en] Now a day the environmental quality is generating discussions around the world. In this context, the main subject is the global warming and the greenhouse emissions. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change studies, the world is experiencing an increase on its average temperature due to anthropogenic emissions that come mainly from burning fossil fuels (primary cause of the increased concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere) causing the greenhouse effect. It is well known that the atmosphere is composed of various gases, however, some of them act like a blanket in the terrestrial coverage (and therefore are commonly called greenhouse gases) due to the fact allow the ultraviolet rays and solar radiation penetrating into the earth s atmosphere and retain infrared radiation, they are: water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and chlorofluorocarbons. Scientists believe that global warming was being intensified due to human activities, especially the beginning of the industrial revolution that have intensified the amount of burning fossil fuels and the forest degradation. According to Stern (2007), the earth s temperature increased about 0.7 Celsius degrees since 1900, for that reason, it is believed that global warming has a close relationship with the increase of the greenhouse gas emissions, especially carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane ( CH4- commonly measured in terms of equivalent CO2). Despite the uncertainty of the consequences of the CO2 emission, especially in the long run, it is expected that there is a relationship between the increase of this gas and the occurrence of climatic disasters in the world, since unlike most pollutants it s externality occur globally and not locally (IPCC, 2007). According to Schipper and Pelling (2006), climate change resulting from increased greenhouse gas emissions should lead to an increase in global average temperature, which will result in changes in rainfall regime in the coming decades and changes in the frequency and magnitude of risks such as floods and tropical cyclones, for example.

[pt] Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar a importância e o impacto da participação da sociedade civil na governança da região metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro. Para isso foi analisado o Reconstrução-Rio, um projeto de intervenção urbana integrada, desenvolvido durante dez anos, em onze municípios da região metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro. Sugere-se que a prática da cidadania depende da ativação da esfera pública, instância de mediação entre as instituições estatais e os interesses comunitários. E que essa prática é essencial tanto para a legitimação da ação governamental, quanto para a constituição de uma cultura política democrática. O papel da participação cidadã na democratização da esfera pública foi reconstruído analiticamente com base nos estudos de Habermas, Fraser, e Nuria Grau (1988). Especial atenção foi concedida ao estudo dos movimentos sociais, considerados fundamentais para a ampliação da participação na governança do projeto analisado. Finalmente, o planejamento colaborativo foi considerado uma ferramenta fundamental para o incremento da participação e da democratização da esfera estatal. / [en] This study aims to analyze the importance and impact of civil society participation in governance of the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro. For this we analyzed the Reconstruction-Rio, a project of integrated urban intervention, developed over ten years in eleven municipalities in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro. It is suggested that the practice of citizenship depends on the activation of the public sphere, a form of mediation between state institutions and community interests. And it also suggests that this practice is essential for both the legitimacy of government action, and for the establishment of a democratic political culture. The role of citizen participation in the democratization of the public sphere was reconstructed analytically based on studies of Habermas, Fraser, and Nuria Grau (1988). Special attention was given to the study of social movements, considered critical to increasing participation in the governance of the analyzed project. Finally, collaborative planning was considered a critical tool to increase the participation and democratization of the state sphere.

[pt] Neste trabalho, estudo a oferta e demanda por habitação na Região Metropolitana de São Paulo, uma das principais cidades do Brasil. Usando dados detalhados de deslocamento ao trabalho, eu estimo um modelo quantitativo espacial, no qual agentes tomam decisões sobre local de residência e trabalho com base em aluguéis, salários, custos de deslocamento e amenidades. Proponho uma extensão do arcabouço usual com um setor formal de oferta de moradia para incluir também um setor informal em competição, uma importante característica institucional presente em diversos países em desenvolvimento. Eu quantifico os spillovers espaciais associados ao setor informal e investigo seu papel em prover residentes com melhor acesso ao mercado de trabalho local. / [en] In this work, I study the supply and demand for housing in the São Paulo Metropolitan Area, a major city in Brazil. Using detailed commuting data, I estimate a quantitative spatial model, in which agents make decisions on residence and workplace based on local rents, wages, commuting costs, and amenities. I propose an extension of the usual framework with a formal housing supply sector to include a competing informal one, an important institutional characteristic present in many developing countries. I quantify the spatial spillovers of this informal housing, and investigate its role in providing residents with improved access to the local labor market.
