Aportes do campo da História e sobre fotografia como documentos e instrumentos políticos contribuíram para as análises / Abstract: The research investigates historical aspects of a Childcare Dispensary that operated from October 1933 to late 1959 in Campinas, São Paulo. This study focused in a timeframe spanning the 1930s and 1940s. Established during the administration of President Getúlio Vargas, the dispensary worked inside the former Bento Quirino Professional Institute, which offered various professional courses for unprivileged. The growth monitoring of children enrolled, prescriptions of behavior for mothers and nutritional orientations and personal hygiene of children and families, promoting contests of kids robustness, among other measures were designed to spread the concept of "sanitary conscience", according to the policies of the hygienists at that time. The vocational schools, designed to meet the unprivileged needs to be moralized by working, were therefore a very conducive environment to achieve the main proposes of Vargas administration: stronger race, strong people, productive people. Produce a version of the story of the Professional School Bento Quirino¿s Childcare Dispensary, since its inception in October 1933 until its deactivation and discuss the possible reasons for deactivation as an attachment of the Professional School, through liaison with the educational policies and health in the above-mentioned timeframe are objectives of this study. Photographs, minutes, reports, newspaper clippings and archives are among the key documents that serve as sources for research. Contributions in the field of history and about photography as documents and policy instruments contribute to the analysis / Doutorado / Ensino e Práticas Culturais / Doutora em Educação

A profile of needs : Music Therapy with HIV infected children in a South African institution

Griffiths, Mikaela Ceridwen 23 February 2005 (has links)
This dissertation profiles the needs of abandoned or orphaned, HIV affected or infected children living in a South African institution. The purpose of my research is to identify the needs of the children; then identify how the staff within the institution perceive that they provide for these needs; and lastly look at what Music Therapy as a discipline can offer the children in regards to the needs identified. Interviews with fulltime and part-time staff members suggest that the needs of the children relate mainly to a lack of individual attention. Inconsistent quality of care and limited opportunities for forming attachments to specific caregivers were identified foremost as resulting in difficulties with forming and maintaining relationships and social functioning with peer members and staff members, in the institutional social cultural context. The therapeutic relationship offered to the children in Music therapy sessions offers opportunities to address the individual and social needs identified. / Dissertation (MMus (Music Therapy))--University of Pretoria, 2006. / Music / unrestricted

With the advent of the feminine work the need for childcare institutes for children until age 5 has increased. Therefore, the assessment of the infrastructure conditions of such institutes is essential. About their physical infrastructure, it is necessary to evaluate the rules dictated by the authorities aiming to understand the principles that determine the elements responsible for the contribution to the mental and physical development of children which attend such establishments. Regarding the importance of science on the principles governing the suitability for securing the welfare of users of pre-school establishments, this research aims to create an instrument so that parents and other people responsible for children can analyse the establishments to be used for them. More specifically, this research seeks to assess if such instrument is able to help parents to choose the right institute, being useful and intelligible for them. It is expected that this tool could swell the issues on comfort and welfare related to the early childhood establishments and inspire parents and guardians to search for quality in order to preserve the physical and mental integrity of children.

Langfristige Anmietung und kommunaler Eigenbau von Kitas in Leipzig im Vergleich: Investitionsrechnung

Günther, Niklas 13 June 2019 (has links)

A Cross-Country Comparison of Family Policies in the Three Nordic Countries : Comparing formal childcare and parental leave policiesof Sweden, Finland, and Denmark / A Cross-Country Comparison of Family Policies in the Three Nordic Countries : Comparing formal childcare and parental leave policiesof Sweden, Finland, and Denmark

Lee, Suh Kyung January 2021 (has links)
The aim of this study is to compare family policies between three Nordic countries. Specifically, the differences and similarities of family policies between the three Nordic countries – Sweden, Finland, and Denmark – regarding formal childcare, parental leave, and parents’ employment are analyzed through a qualitative research method, document analysis. The government documents of three Nordic countries are analyzed. Along with that, the latest differences in family policies between the three Nordic countries in 2019 and 2020 with regards to these aspects are explored through descriptive statistics. Thus, this study adopts a mixed methods design that combines quantitative and qualitative research. Through analysis, this study found that the family policy of Sweden supports the health and lifestyle of families with children and promotes gender equity the most among the three Nordic countries. Sweden has a high formal childcare enrollment rate, a gender-equal parental leave policy, and a high employment rate of women with children. Denmark’s family policy has performed second after Sweden, with high formal childcare enrollment rates and the highest average number of weekly hours in formal care particularly impressive. Finland’s family policy was somewhat inferior to that of Sweden and Denmark because of the relatively low formal childcare enrollment rate, shorter length of parental leave, and the comparatively low employment rate of women with children. This study is of great significance in that it revealed the differences in family policy between the three Nordic countries that were previously unknown. It is also meaningful in that the qualitative findings and quantitative findings were complemented by using a mixed research method.

Social Sustainability Assessment of Alternative Care Policies for Children in Kenya

Otuoma, Susan, Martinez Barbero, Julia, Mohammed, Omer January 2020 (has links)
The social phenomenon of children without parental care and those at risk of separation from their parents has gained considerable global attention in recent years. A key concern is the over-reliance on institutional care mainly in Africa, Asia and Latin America as the default form of alternative care for such children. Extensive research points to mostly negative impact of separation of children from families and institutionalization of children which affects their health outcomes and development. In response to this global crisis, the UN Guidelines for the Alternative Care of Children were developed in 2010. Kenya domesticated the guidelines in 2014 and is in the process of implementation. The Framework for Strategic Sustainable Development and more specifically the Social Sustainability Principles are used in this study to assess the extent to which the UN Guidelines, Kenya Guidelines and implementation of alternative care of children in Kenya align to Social Sustainability. This research finds that the guidelines are highly aligned to social sustainability although their implementation points to major structural obstacles that if minimized will promote social sustainability of alternative care in Kenya. A coherent well-coordinated approach that takes a systems perspective and links to the mainstream social development agenda is recommended.

Tokyo intergenerational day care center / Tokyo intergenerationellt dagvårdscenter

Svensson Lembke, Mattias January 2013 (has links)
Japan is facing a great demographic shift, where by 2050 more than 40% of it's inhabitants will be over the age of 65 years. The womens emencipation from the role of stay at home mothers has allowed them to have careers of their own, although a good thing it does not leave a lot of room for starting a family in Japan's hard working climate. This new cultural norm has collided with the the long tradition of family care and Japan is now facing a large cultural collision, where there is a great lack of working solutions for child and senior care. The project suggests a prototypical intergenerational day care center for elderly and children in Tokyos dense now-rise residential neighborhoods. This form of care started being built in America during the 90's and has prooven to provide some of the best care availible for elderly and children.

Edwards Mannheimer, Rebecca January 2011 (has links)
