For that, was searched for news stories involving cases of lethal violence against women, in a digital database of the Zero Hora newspaper, published in the period from January to December 2016. From this research, 48 reports was found, all in the police section, and 6 headlines. Was sought to understand the media's perspective in cases of homicide of women, the emphasis given in some cases to that reports, the relevance of mentioning the victim?s criminal record and / or their involvement in drug trafficking, and situations in which homicide is identified as a crime of passion.It is understood that the lethal violence of women occurs in several situations, which give rise to quite singular configurations. In these homicide arrangements, the gender element - constitutive of social relations - may or may not be present as drive of violence. However, the media darken the gender aspect, making it difficult to understand homicides from their complexity. For the theoretical support of the research, was opted for the theory of social representations, of Serge Moscovici and for the studies developed in gender and sexuality scope. Regarding the theoretical-methodological procedures, the qualitative approach and the set of content analysis techniques were adopted in their thematic modality for data systematization and interpretation. The results pointed out that the media deals with the murder of women covering the possible motivations based on unequal gender relations. The news framing is exclusively in police way, that means, doesn?t consider the multiple dimensions that involves violence against women. The media also produce representations of intimate partner violence in which it is reduced to a crime of passion. These results enable further study in the area, paving the way for future research, and challenge the media to incorporate gender equity into the way they interpret female homicides. These results enable further studies in the area, paving the way for future researches, and challenging the media to incorporate gender equity into the way that they interpret female homicides. / O tema geral desta disserta??o ? o homic?dio de mulheres no Rio Grande do Sul e tem como objetivo analisar as representa??es sociais do fen?meno produzidas pela m?dia. Para isso, buscou-se mat?rias de cunho noticioso envolvendo casos de viol?ncia letal contra mulheres em banco de dados digital do Jornal Zero Hora, veiculadas no per?odo de janeiro a dezembro de 2016. A pesquisa resultou em 48 reportagens, todas no caderno policial, e 6 chamadas de capa. Procurou-se compreender a leitura realizada pela m?dia sobre os casos de homic?dio de mulheres, o destaque dado a alguns casos pelo notici?rio, a relev?ncia em mencionar os antecedentes criminais da v?tima e/ou seu envolvimento com o tr?fico de drogas e as situa??es em que o homic?dio ? identificado como crime passional. Compreende-se que a viol?ncia letal de mulheres ocorre em diversas situa??es, as quais originam configura??es bastante singulares. Nestes arranjos de homic?dio, o elemento de g?nero ? constitutivo das rela??es sociais ? pode ou n?o estar presente como motivador da viol?ncia. Todavia, a m?dia oculta o aspecto de g?nero, dificultando a compreens?o dos homic?dios a partir de sua complexidade. Para dar sustenta??o te?rica ? pesquisa, optou-se pela teoria das representa??es sociais, de Serge Moscovici e pelos estudos desenvolvidos na ?rea de g?nero e sexualidade. Quanto aos procedimentos te?rico-metodol?gicos, foi adotada a abordagem qualitativa e o conjunto de t?cnicas da an?lise de conte?do na sua modalidade tem?tica para sistematiza??o e interpreta??o dos dados. Os resultados apontaram que a m?dia trata do homic?dio de mulheres ocultando as poss?veis motiva??es baseadas nas rela??es desiguais de g?nero. O enquadramento da not?cia ? exclusivamente policial, ou seja, n?o considera as m?ltiplas dimens?es que envolve a viol?ncia contra a mulher. A m?dia tamb?m produz representa??es da viol?ncia entre parceiros ?ntimos em que ela ? reduzida a um crime passional. Estes resultados possibilitam o aprofundamento de estudos na ?rea, abrindo caminho para pesquisas futuras, e desafia a m?dia para que incorpore a equidade de g?nero na forma como interpretam os homic?dios de mulheres.

Along with the Jesuits departure from the school control and with the formal education opening for the whole population, the access to education has been allowed to women, under the justification of the need these women being prepared to take care of their children and also the home environment. In the period of Brazilian Republic, with the women's entrance into the workforce and followed by teaching for a living, men tended to go for other professions and started the process of feminization of teaching, creating then a representation for the one who dedicated to this profession. However, statistics show that the prevailing of female teaching in high school is not so discrepant, so that, it is supposed that the social representation over the high school educator is different from the fundamental school. From this panorama, this research had as a goal investigate and analyze the teaching Genre Social Representations among male and female high school teachers, focusing the discussion about the space destination reserved initially for each genre. The research subjects were 16 teachers who teach for high school in Brazilian Distrito Federal public education system, being 8 men and 8 women. To collect the data, it was used the software IRAMUTEQ R. The analysis happened under the light of Moscovici???s Social Representations Theory and genre theories, using Laurence Bardin???s content analysis. As an outcome, it has been noticed various social representation elements composing on elementary level teachers which are still present on high school teachers, such as, patience, flexibility, and affection, however, an strongly valued aspect was the use of authority in classroom, and this has been taken as the easier tool to be used by those teachers. The teaching also has been presented as a work opportunity and along with the vulnerability perception joined with the sense of a depreciated profession. Another finding of the research was the spotting the ambiguous identity which the teaching lives, whereas sometimes is marked by work and in other professions. Yet, it???s been noticed that from the search for continuous qualification and formation, those teachers long for getting closer to the professionals category. They seek so, contribute to the reflection for new ways to teaching representation, these ways which generate less inequalities and violence expressions that has been stricken us that much. / A escolariza????o no Brasil come??ou basicamente de forma classista e masculina. Com a retirada dos jesu??tas do controle da escola e com a abertura do ensino para toda a popula????o, permitiuse ??s mulheres o acesso ao ensino, sob a justificativa da necessidade dessas terem uma melhor prepara????o para cuidar dos filhos e da esfera dom??stica. No per??odo da Rep??blica, com a entrada das mulheres no mercado de trabalho e consequentemente no exerc??cio da doc??ncia, os homens tenderam a ir para outras profiss??es e houve o processo de feminiza????o do magist??rio, criando-se assim uma representa????o para o indiv??duo que a essa profiss??o se candidatasse. No entanto, as estat??sticas mostram que a preval??ncia de professoras no ensino m??dio n??o se apresenta de forma t??o discrepante, dessa forma, sup??e-se que a representa????o social sobre o docente do ensino m??dio ?? diferente da do ensino fundamental. A partir desse panorama, essa pesquisa teve por objetivo investigar e analisar as Representa????es Sociais de g??nero da doc??ncia junto a professores e professoras do ensino m??dio, com vistas a discuss??o sobre a destina????o de espa??os reservados a priori para cada sexo. Os sujeitos da pesquisa foram 16 docentes que lecionam para o ensino m??dio da escola p??blica no Distrito Federal, sendo 8 homens e 8 mulheres. Para a obten????o dos dados, utilizou-se de entrevista semi-estruturada e os dados foram tratados por meio do software IRAMUTEQ R. A an??lise ocorreu sob a luz da Teoria das Representa????es Sociais de Moscovici e teorias de g??nero, utilizando-se da an??lise de conte??do, de Laurence Bardin. Como resultado foi verificado que v??rios elementos constituintes da representa????o social do docente de ensino fundamental ainda est??o presentes nos docentes de ensino m??dio, tais como, paci??ncia, flexibilidade e afeto, contudo, um aspecto fortemente valorizado foi a utiliza????o da autoridade em sala de aula, sendo que esse foi julgado ser mais f??cil de ser utilizado pelos professores. A doc??ncia tamb??m se apresentou como uma oportunidade de trabalho para a subsist??ncia e juntamente com a percep????o de vulnerabilidade uniu-se a no????o de profiss??o desvalorizada. Outra constata????o da pesquisa foi a evidencia????o da ambiguidade de identidade a qual a doc??ncia vivencia, onde por vezes ?? caraterizada por trabalho e em outras por profiss??o. No entanto, percebe-se que a partir da busca pela qualifica????o e forma????o continuada, os docentes anseiam por se aproximar mais da categoria de profissionais. Busca-se com isso, contribuir para a reflex??o de novas formas de representar a doc??ncia, formas que gerem menos desigualdades e express??es de viol??ncia que tanto nos tem acometido.

As subjects respondents were 63 students who participated in the survey in January 2013.This study aimed to identify and analyze social representations of two different moments of life of those subjects, using two instigating issues for this verification: What were the difficulties in life and work before entering the PROEJA FIC Fishing? What were the changes found in life and work after entering PROEJA FIC Fishing? It was used the technique of ALP as instruments of collecting data and thus the subjects evoked five words that were hierarchical and categorized for processing in software EVOC. It can thereby gather the corpus of social thought of the fishermen students. It was also presented the route of professional education and education of young people and adults in Brazil, registering the historic brands of exclusion of those workers in the educational process. Thus, shone through the worth and the importance of PROEJA FIC as historic achievement of the working class. For analysis, was elected as a theoretical foundation the Theory of Social Representations, by Serge Moscovici, having as a complement to the Central Nucleus Theory by Jean-Claude Abric, by the extraction capacity of the consensus of social thought. In the first question, it was ascertained the representation of the students difficulties due to the lack of the education, and from this is possible to find the appearing of the categories Qualification and Citizenship with attributes reading, work, learn and study. The appearing of these elements, in difficulties, leads to the understanding that these issues are absent and necessary in subject's lives. Living in a society where the work an essential element, it can not be admitted that the conditions for access to this right are curtailed the weakest layers, since these prerogatives are constitutional guarantees. There for, it can be observed that the difficulties presented are obstacles for the processing of the subjects' qualification, and this prevented them from the practical exercise of their citizenship. In other words, the lack of education, denied right, prevented the qualification and this is what allows improvement of work. On the other hand, the implantation of PROEJA FIC remounts the reparation of a debt and modifies the life of the subjects. In regard to the changes, it can be verified the appearing of learning, reading and writing, as elements of the central nucleus, synthesized in the categories Qualification and Autonomy. This result of evocations indicates that the PROEJA FIC contemplated the needs of qualification and autonomy of the fishermen. And so characterizes the verifiable transformations in the evocations and statements: changes in the relation of the subject with the nature, the conquest of traits of autonomy and independence, the access of new knowledge and the emergence of school as space of interaction that improves the interpersonal relationships. This all confirms the importance of PROEJA FIC as a tool for inclusion, and the research contributes to reclaim the perennial of supply and the consolidation of the program to serve as a public policy for the layers and vulnerable communities. / Apresenta-se o estudo realizado com os pescadores part?cipes do PROEJA FIC, no IFMT Campus C?ceres, com o intuito de levantar as representa??es sociais das transforma??es decorrentes da escolariza??o. Totalizam-se como sujeitos respondentes: 63 estudantes, que participaram da pesquisa no m?s de janeiro de 2013. Objetivou-se identificar e analisar as representa??es sociais de dois momentos distintos da vida dos sujeitos, utilizando duas quest?es instigadoras para essa verifica??o: Quais as dificuldades na vida e no trabalho antes do ingresso no PROEJA FIC Pesca? E quais as mudan?as encontradas na vida e no trabalho ap?s o ingresso no PROEJA FIC Pesca?Utilizou-se a t?cnica de ALP como instrumento de coleta, e assim os sujeitos evocaram cinco palavras que foram hierarquizadas e categorizadas para processamento no software EVOC. Assim, p?de-se reunir o corpus do pensamento social dos estudantes pescadores. Apresentou-se ainda o percurso da educa??o profissional e da educa??o de jovens e adultos no Brasil, registrando as marcas hist?ricas da exclus?o dos trabalhadores do processo educacional. Com isso, destacou-se o valor e a import?ncia do PROEJA FIC como conquista hist?rica da classe trabalhadora. Para a an?lise, elegeu-se como fundamento te?rico a Teoria das Representa??es Sociais, de Serge Moscovici, tendo como complemento a Teoria do N?cleo Central de Jean-Claude Abric, pela capacidade de extra??o do consenso do pensamento social. No primeiro questionamento verificou-se a representa??o das dificuldades dos estudantes pela falta de escolaridade, e a partir disso foi poss?vel encontrar o comparecimento das categorias Qualifica??o e Cidadania com os atributos leitura, trabalho, aprender e estudar. O comparecimento desses elementos, nas dificuldades, nos conduzem ao entendimento de que essas quest?es s?o qualidades ausentes e necess?rias na vida dos sujeitos. Se se vive em uma sociedade em que o trabalho ? um elemento fundante, n?o se pode admitir que as condi??es para o acesso a esse direito sejam cerceadas das camadas mais fragilizadas, j? que essas prerrogativas constituem-se garantias constitucionais. Assim, observa-se que as dificuldades apresentadas obstaculizavam o processo de qualifica??o dos sujeitos, e isso lhes impedia o exerc?cio pr?tico de sua cidadania. Ou seja, a falta de escolaridade, direito negado, impedia a qualifica??o e esta ? que possibilita o aperfei?oamento do trabalho. De outro lado, implanta??o do PROEJA FIC remonta a repara??o de uma d?vida e modifica a vida desses sujeitos. No tangente ?s mudan?as, verifica-se o comparecimento dos atributos aprender, leitura e escrever, como elementos do n?cleo central, sintetizados nas categorias Qualifica??o e Autonomia. Esse resultado das evoca??es indica que o PROEJA FIC contemplou as necessidades de qualifica??o e autonomia dos pescadores. E, assim, caracterizam-se as transforma??es verific?veis nas evoca??es e nos depoimentos: mudan?as na rela??o dos sujeitos com a natureza, a conquista de tra?os de autonomia e independ?ncia, o acesso a novos conhecimentos e o surgimento da escola como espa?o de intera??o que melhora as rela??es interpessoais. Isso tudo ratifica a import?ncia do PROEJA FIC como instrumento de inclus?o, e a pesquisa contribui para reivindicar a perenidade da oferta e a consolida??o do programa como pol?tica p?blica para atendimento das camadas vulner?veis e de comunidades tradicionais.

This research aims to identify, through the use of free evocations technical, social representations of the management of the Instituto Federal do Maranh?o ? Campi S?o Lu?s - Maracan? and Cod? about efficiency in the management of public schools of the Federal Network. The research was conducted among a universe of 73 (seventy-three) of these managers Campi. The theoretical framework on which this research was supported was Social Representation Theory, of Serge Moscovici, and its complementary approach, the Central Nucleus Theory, developed by Jean-Claude Abric. The free evocations were analyzed by the technique of frame construction of four houses, after using the software EVOC 2003 ?, which sued the combination of the frequency of recall of each word and its order of evocation. The results of this research show how the core elements of social representations of managers, the words: commitment, accountability, transparency and ethics. The word dedication represented the first periphery. The words training, commitment, planning, organization and quality formed the third quadrant, where are the contrasting elements of representation. And the words: agility, punctuality and respect formed the Periphery Second of the representation. Through this research, it was also possible to identify the profile of managers and their opinions on various aspects related to the efficient management of public education. / A inser??o do Princ?pio da Efici?ncia na Constitui??o Federal, por meio da Emenda Constitucional n? 19/1998, transformou em exig?ncia legal a efici?ncia na gest?o p?blica do Brasil, que passou a ser formalmente orientada para um modelo gerencial. Esta pesquisa teve por objetivo conhecer, por meio do uso t?cnica de evoca??es livres, as representa??es sociais dos gestores do Instituto Federal do Maranh?o ? Campi S?o Lu?s ? Maracan? e Cod? acerca efici?ncia na gest?o da escola p?blica da Rede Federal. A pesquisa foi realizada junto a um universo de 73 (setenta e tr?s) gestores dos Campi. O referencial te?rico sobre o qual se apoiou esta pesquisa foi a Teoria das Representa??es Sociais, de Serge Moscovici, e a sua abordagem complementar, a Teoria do N?cleo Central, desenvolvida por Jean-Claude Abric. As evoca??es livres foram analisadas por meio da t?cnica de constru??o do quadro de quatro casas, ap?s o uso do software EVOC 2003?, que processou a combina??o entre a frequ?ncia de evoca??o de cada palavra e a sua ordem de evoca??o. Os resultados desta pesquisa apontaram como elementos centrais das representa??es sociais dos gestores, os termos: compromisso, responsabilidade, transpar?ncia e ?tica. A primeira periferia foi representada pela palavra dedica??o. As palavras capacita??o, comprometimento, organiza??o, planejamento e qualidade constitu?ram o terceiro quadrante, onde se localizam os elementos de contraste da representa??o. E as palavras agilidade, pontualidade e respeito formaram a Segunda Periferia da representa??o. Por meio desta pesquisa, foi poss?vel ainda identificar o perfil dos gestores e suas opini?es acerca de v?rios aspectos relacionados ? efici?ncia na gest?o de institui??es p?blicas de ensino.

O que provocou esse fen?meno e quais as justificativas para faz?-lo? Na experi?ncia da Para?ba, dada a inexist?ncia de fontes secund?rias que reconstituam e analisem esse processo e a escassez de fontes prim?rias, salvo alguns documentos oficiais, o que h? s?o os relatos orais dos participantes. Por esta raz?o, foram realizadas entrevistas n?o estruturadas com oito indiv?duos, entre gestores e ex-gestores do antigo CEFET/PB, e utilizados tamb?m, como fonte de dados, a confer?ncia de um representante da SETEC/MEC, realizada na Para?ba no per?odo, e documentos oficiais. O m?todo de an?lise das entrevistas foi a an?lise tem?tica, de acordo com as orienta??es de autores como Bardin (1977), Richardson (2013), Bourdieu (2012) e Amado (2013). Dentre os apoios te?ricos sobre a educa??o profissional no Brasil, destacam-se: Cunha (1991; 2000), Manfredi (2002), Kuenzer (1990, 2015), Pacheco, Pereira, Domingos Sobrinho (2010), Pacheco (2011). Os resultados indicam que: o processo de transforma??o do CEFET/PB em IFPB reproduziu, em escala micro, a complexidade macro do processo de expans?o ocorrido em todo o pa?s; n?o obstante os limites e contradi??es entre discurso e pr?tica de um governo de car?ter popular e democr?tico, o mesmo mostrou ser poss?vel introduzir mudan?as na estrutura e formato da rede visando atender n?o s? as demandas da economia, mas tamb?m contribuir para o fortalecimento da cidadania; a an?lise da dimens?o psicossocial do fen?meno pesquisado, com base nas representa??es sociais (JODELET, 2001; MOSCOVICI, 2012) permitiu melhor compreender as a??es dos sujeitos engajados no processo evitando reduzi-las a epifen?menos das estruturas econ?micas, das disputas pol?tico-ideol?gicas ou a meras manifesta??es de idiossincrasias individuais. / The research that served as a basis for the construction of this doctoral thesis had as an object of investigation the process of transformation of the Federal Center of Technological Education of Para?ba into Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology that took place during the two governments of President Lu?s In?cio Lula da Silva (2003-2010). It was sought to reflect on the reasons for this process at the national level, and then to understand how it took place in the said state. Why, this was the central issue, the institutions that make up the federal network of professional education, although already having reached a very complex level, in their juridical-institutional form, had to be reconfigured to form Federal Institutes that can offer, from initial basic training, to master's and doctoral courses? What caused this phenomenon and what are the justifications for doing so? In the Para?ba experience, given the lack of secondary sources that reconstitute and analyze this process and the scarcity of primary sources, except for some official documents, what exists is the oral reports of the participants. For this reason, non-structured interviews were conducted with eight individuals, between managers and former managers of the former CEFET / PB, and also used, as a data source, the conference of a representative of SETEC / MEC, held in Para?ba, besides official documents. The method of analysis of the interviews was the thematic analysis, according to the guidelines of authors such as Bardin (1977), Richardson (2013), Bourdieu (2012) and Amado (2013). Among the theoretical supports on professional education in Brazil, the following stand out: Cunha (1991, 2000), Manfredi (2002), Kuenzer (1990, 2015), Pacheco, Pereira, Domingos Sobrinho (2010), Pacheco (2011). On social representations, the authors are Moscovici (2012) and Jodelet (2001). The results indicate that: the transformation process of CEFET / PB into IFPB reproduced, on a micro scale, the macro complexity of the expansion process that occurred throughout the country; despite the limits and contradictions between the discourse and the practice of a government of a popular and democratic nature, it has shown that it is possible to introduce changes in the structure and format of the network, in order to meet not only the demands of the economy but also to contribute to the strengthening of citizenship; the analysis of the psychosocial dimension of the researched phenomenon, based on social representations (JODELET, 2001; MOSCOVICI, 2012) allowed a better understanding of the actions of the subjects engaged in the process, avoiding to reduce them to epiphenomena of economic structures, political-ideological disputes or mere manifestations of individual idiosyncrasies.

Foi utilizado um modelo te?rico relacionado ? determina??o social da sa?de, tendo como vari?vel dependente Domic?lio com ?bitos e como vari?veis independentes: Ra?a; Renda; Frequ?ncia ? escola ou creche; Analfabetismo; e Escolaridade baixa. Os dados foram analisados atrav?s da estat?stica descritiva e inferencial, utilizando regress?es de Poisson de base individual, regress?o multin?vel de Poisson e regress?es lineares m?ltiplas, ? luz do referencial te?rico da ?rea. Identificou-se uma maior propor??o de domic?lios com ?bitos dentre aqueles com pelo menos um morador preto, de menor renda, analfabeto, que n?o frequenta ou frequentou escola e creche e menos escolarizado. A an?lise do modelo ajustado demonstrou que a vari?vel Renda obteve a maior raz?o de preval?ncia, sendo observado um valor de risco de 1,33 para domic?lios com pelo menos um morador com renda m?dia menor que R$ 655,00. Os efeitos de composi??o foram mais bem identificados nas regi?es de articula??o urbana, conformadas atrav?s de mecanismos semelhantes aos do fen?meno em estudo. / This research aimed to analyse the effect of different territorial divisions in the random fluctuation of socio-economic indicators related to social determinants of health. This is an ecological study resulting from a combination of statistical methods including individuated and aggregate data analysis, using five databases derived from the database of the Brazilian demographic census 2010: overall results of the sample by weighting area. These data were grouped into the following levels: households; weighting areas; cities; Immediate Urban Associated Regions and Intermediate Urban Associated Regions. A theoretical model related to social determinants of health was used, with the dependent variable Household with death and as independent variables: Black race; Income; Childcare and school no attendance; Illiteracy; and Low schooling. The data was analysed in a model related to social determinants of health, using Poisson regression in individual basis, multilevel Poisson regression and multiple linear regression in light of the theoretical framework of the area. It was identified a greater proportion of households with deaths among those with at least one black resident, lower-income, illiterate, who do not attend or attended school or day-care and less educated. The analysis of the adjusted model showed that most adjusted prevalence ratio was related to Income, where there is a risk value of 1.33 for households with at least one resident with lower average personal income to R$ 655,00 (Brazilian current). The multilevel analysis demonstrated that there was a context effect when the variables were subjected to the effects of areas, insofar as the random effects were significant for all models and with different prevalence rates being higher in the areas with smaller dimensions - Weighting areas with coefficient of 0.035 and Cities with coefficient of 0.024. The ecological analyses have shown that the variable Income and Low schooling presented explanatory potential for the outcome on all models, having income greater power to determine the household deaths, especially in models related to Immediate Urban Associated Regions with a standardized coefficient of -0.616 and regions intermediate urban associated regions with a standardized coefficient of -0.618. It was concluded that there was a context effect on the random fluctuation of the socioeconomic indicators related to social determinants of health. This effect was explained by the characteristics of territorial divisions and individuals who live or work there. Context effects were better identified in the areas with smaller dimensions, which are more favourable to explain phenomena related to social determinants of health, especially in studies of societies marked by social inequalities. The composition effects were better identified in the Regions of Urban Articulation, shaped through mechanisms similar to the phenomenon under study.

As entrevistas foram gravadas, transcritas e submetidas ? an?lise de conte?do na modalidade tem?tica. Com rela??o ?s pr?ticas referentes ao PNSVitA, este estudo revela que a suplementa??o de vitamina A tem sido uma estrat?gia vinculada ao Programa Nacional de Imuniza??o, quest?o que pode ter repercuss?es positivas e negativas. Programa de P?s-Gradua??o em Sa?de, Sociedade e Ambiente, Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri, 2013. / ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to analyze social representations, knowledge and practices related to the National Vitamin A Supplementation Program (PNSVitA in its Portuguese acronym) in a municipality of the Jequitinhonha Valley. This Program has been established within the framework of the Brazilian Unified Health System in order to prevent / control Vitamin A Deficiency (VAD), which is currently one of the major public health problems associated with food and nutrition. As far as methodology is concerned, a qualitative approach and the Social Representations Theory were adopted. Semi-structured and focused interviews were conducted with twenty mothers of children who benefit from the National Vitamin A Supplementation Program, this number being defined by progressive inclusion, interrupted by the saturation method. The interviews were tape-recorded, transcribed and subjected to thematic content analysis. With regard to the practices relating to the National Vitamin A Supplementation Program, this study reveals that vitamin A supplementation has been a strategy linked to the National Immunization Program. This is an issue that may have both positive and negative repercussions. It shows that the supplementation practice has not been accompanied by a proper communication, information and education process targeted at the beneficiary population. This may influence the knowledge and conceptions that mothers possess about vitamin A, VAD, and the PNSVitA. It indicates that supplementation with mega-doses of the vitamin has been the central strategy to prevent / control VAD, and suggests the absence of activities aimed at the promotion of appropriate and healthy eating habits. Concerning the knowledge that mothers possess about the subject area of the study, it is evidenced that, in general, such knowledge is absent or is not consistent with what is described in the scientific and technical literature. This is an issue that may affect the recognition of VAD as a local public health problem and that may influence the adoption of co-responsibility for preventive measures. Based on the analysis of their knowledge, in the light of the Social Representations Theory, this study reveals that some mothers view vitamin A as the ?vitamin from the community health post?, which indicates that this nutrient is primarily perceived as medication, and not as a constituent element of food. It reveals the conception that vitamin A is a vaccin or simply a vitamin (in a generic way), and finally it demonstrates that this vitamin is valued by these mothers, even though at times they do not understand its importance. It is concluded that, for effective prevention / control of vitamin A deficiency, it is necessary to prioritize food-based strategies rather than vitamin A drug supplementation, taking into account the human right to adequate food. In addition, it is necessary to develop / strengthen population-focused educational activities concerning this nutritional deficiency and the actions to prevent / control it.

The corpus resulting from evocations about continuing education, as well as teachers' justifications were submitted to different computer methods/techniques, through the EVOC ALCESTE Programs, respectively, providing the opportunity to highlight a network of interconnections between the likely core and the production of discourse.
