A Study of Self-Disclosure, Social Capital, and Subjective Well-Being in the Blogosphere

Ko, Hsiu-Chia 26 June 2007 (has links)
How information technology (IT) influence peoples' everyday lives is becoming one of the most important research issues in IS field. In this study a theoretical model based on the self-disclosure theory and the social capital theory has been constructed to research how the bloggers' self-disclosure behaviors in the blogosphere may influence their subjective well-being (SWB). The results suggest that the trust in audiences, self-efficacy for self-disclosure, and stress were the key factors influencing the bloggers' self-disclosure behaviors. In addition, writing blogs provides a channel for users to release their inhibition, enhance their experiences of positive affect, increase their social support and social integration, and extend their social network, all of which in turn enhance the bloggers' perception of subjective well-being. These results provide significant theoretical and practical implications to researchers, enterprises, blog platform designers, and IT policy makers in understanding the roles of blogs in peoples' everyday lives.

The study of Word-of-Mouth marketing

Tai, Chiu-chun 08 July 2008 (has links)
It grows rapidly the global men ¡¦s skin care market in developed country. There are 1 billion market size which represent s 40% to 60 % growth in the men¡¦s skin care market in Taiwan since year of 2005 . It also motivates the Word-of -Mouth market ing when the commercial advertisement has been skipped by end consumers times and times again . There are all kinds of updated word-of-mouth marketing develop ed such as: @WOM, Viral marketing, Blog marketing. It is a case to leverage the word -of-mouth marketing in brand building for a pure Men¡¦s skin care brand . This study is to explore the key successful factors for appling the Word-Of-Mouth marketing within a new market, especialy for an independent men¡¦s skin care brand. There are interview s for brand-owner and on-line ¡Vretailer, and questionary for consumers in this project. The first finding is that men ¡¦s skin care concept is more acceptable than before . It becomes more popular to purchase the products by men¡¦s their own. Further more, men start to try the suncare and anti -oil products in the ir daily regimen. However, female is still playing the key roll in decision making for her boy friend or families. We also found, the female rarely know n the difference between men¡¦s and women¡¦s skin care regimen. Even she might be an expertise in her own skin care needs. As a result, we should provide the free sample with ¡§You must know information¡¨ to the key person, SHE, then influent her boy friend and families. It is how we differentiate the independent men¡¦s skin care brand. The second finding is most of the heavy internet users are the followers; they are not interested in the men¡¦s skin care information. Therefore, it is hardly to trigger off the tipping point if we target the male as early adaptor via @WOM. In another words, we can not exect a big boom if the @WOM didn¡¦t reach women. In summary, the word-of-mouth marketing for men¡¦s skin care brand, first thing is to create the truly words via the early users, the men who already experienced the oil-control product and/or suncare products. The secondary is to broadcast the words from early users thru @WOM, PR exposures, free samples to reach women as sneezers. The last, to roll out a new topic ensure the on going spreading for brands every 12 weeks.

The Study of Conventional Industry: Market Develops from B to B into B to C-Reference:Gallant-Ocean International.,Inc

Ho Hsu, Yueh-yuan 24 June 2009 (has links)
Taiwan Island has magnificent resources, one of them is fishery industry, which happens to be one of Taiwan¡¦s major economical activities. Seafood is considered by the people general to be a health choice, primarily for its assortment, tenderness, high nutrition of values and low in both calories and cholesterols. Gallant Ocean International Inc. exports 66% of Taiwan¡¦s total annual seafood productions, indicating its industry leading status and capacity. To the current Taiwanese seafood industry, there is only focus in seafood processing and production, and commonly lacks the knowledge and experience of marketing, branding and distribution channels. It is the aim of the study to discuss and explore the operations and influences of corporate integrated purchasing, e-commerce, organic produce channels, marketing activities and Blog marketing; based on the case study of Gallant Ocean International Inc. In the research design perspective, this study employs Gallant Ocean International Inc. as the primary research target, by adapting exploratory analysis of single case study, qualitative case study research and in-depth interviews to acquire the necessary data for research purpose. The case study intends to provide a reference business model in the domestic traditional industries for the transition and development from B to B to B to C. This study has observed that the Taiwanese traditional industries¡¦ development of B to C possesses the following trends: 1.The establishment of ¡§Own-Brand¡¨ has an influential effect on market development: developing own-brand is a current trend and also an assurance to quality. Transforming product to brand does not only require product being ¡§consumer-focus¡¨, but also needs to take into consideration of the quality and competitiveness. This is particularly important in order to attain seafood ¡§quality¡¨, ¡§freshness¡¨ and ¡§safety¡¨ being the primary considerations. 2.¡§Integrated marketing¡¨ has concrete results in operational effectiveness: Effective utilization of actual and E-channels in integrated marketing have concrete operational results in developing B to C retailing market. 3.Adaptation of ¡§Blog marketing¡¨ to establish virtual communities: Blogs have become increasingly popular due to its easiness to use, with low technical barrier, free of charge provides direct of interaction between both parties. Blog, being a free community marketing channel have attracted many B to C corporate utilizing them for relationship marketing. Finally, this research will present an argument for ¡§people being the most critical factor for domestic traditional industries in developing B to C markets.¡¨ Consequently the decision markers¡¦ decision-making ability and adaptation of integrated marketing tools are the critical success factors for the traditional industries¡¦ B to C markets¡¦ development.

Klassblogg : En studie av lärares användning av klassblogg i grundskolans tidigare år / Classroom blogging : A study of teachers' use of blogs in the classroom in primary school

Henriksson, Pia January 2013 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to explore the use of a blog in the classroom. This paper describes why the teacher created the blog and how the blog is used by teachers and pupils in and outside the classroom. The study also describes teachers’ thoughts regarding future use of the blog. Seven primary school teachers were interviewed and the material was analysed using a multimodal design theoretical perspective on learning (Selander & Kress 2010). The conclusion of the study was that the teachers created and designed blogs to give parents, pupils, relatives and others an opportunity to have an insight into the pupils’ school day. The blog is used mostly by teachers and pupils’ school work is published on the blog. The pupils in some classes use the blog to write weekly journals, make films and interviews that are published. Several teachers mention that publishing school work on the blog improves the quality of the school work. It seems that pupils try harder when the school work is published on the blog. Some teachers mention pupils’ age and their ability to write when discussing pupils posting work on the blog. The blog is though a multimodal way to communicate. It seems that the blog has the ability to support both pupils’ writing development and their competencies in multimodal communication. Regarding future use of the blog the teachers have many ideas and all teachers agree that pupils will be given the opportunity to use the blog more in the future. The ideas of future use can be related to the idea of the blog as a virtual third space, a link between home and school. In this third space pupils are able to use knowledge from home when carrying out school tasks.   Since there are few studies regarding blogs in the classroom and especially regarding younger pupils, this study has given a wider perspective regarding the use of blogs in the classroom.

Blogg som verktyg för pedagogisk dokumentation i samspel mellan två förskollärare och föräldrar. / Using a blog as a tool for pedagogical documentation in interaction between two preschool teachers and parents.

Johansson, Beatrice, Pettersson, Ellinor January 2014 (has links)
Study: Degree project in teacher education, Advanced Level 15p University of Skövde   Title: Using a blog as a tool for pedagogical documentation in interaction between two preschool teachers and parents.   Pages: 39   Authors: Beatrice Johansson and Ellinor Pettersson   Tutor: Urban Carlén   Date: HT 2013   Keywords: Pedagogical documentation, interaction, blog, communication.   The purpose of this study is to examine preschool teachers’ use of blogging as a tool for pedagogical documentation and the parents’ participation in the blog. The study examines the interaction between the preschool and the children’s homes as well as if the use of a blog contributes to a greater insight for parents in the pedagogical activities. In the latest curriculum, there have been a point of monitoring, evaluation and development, which seems to be a goal in the curriculum that creates uncertainty among the profession, how to configure them. Therefore, we felt that pedagogical documentation would be interesting to investigate. To examine documentation from a current perspective arose blog as a tool.   The study is qualitative and interviews were conducted, as well as snippets of preschool blogs. Two preschool teachers and eight parents were interviewed at two separate municipal preschools in a municipality in Skaraborg. Both preschools conduct their own blogs.   The result showed that a blog is a tool that contributes the parents a greater insight into the preschools pedagogical activities. The blog can be a tool for the preschool teachers to follow, document, evaluate and evolve their pedagogical operation. The results also showed that both the teachers and the parents felt that the blog contributed to more verbal communication about what is happening in the preschool.   In the discussion, the study's methods are discussed and how interview as a method has affected the result of the study. We also debate the study's credibility and how analyzing the interview has provided a greater understanding of the blog as a tool. Then the results are discussed in parity to the literature of the study and our own reflections and expreriences. We also discuss how the use of blogs can be integrated in the preschools approaches and contribute to make parents more involved in the pedagogical activites.

"När jag blir stor drömmer jag om ett liv i storstaden med shopping utanför dörren och starbucks i handen" : En studie av skriftspråket hos tre unga bloggerskor i Jönköping / "When I grow older I dream of a life in the big city with shopping outside the door and starbucks i my hand : A study of the written language of three young bloggers in Jönköping

Lindström, Ida, Ståhlgren, Clara January 2013 (has links)
This paper aims to examine three young bloggers’ from Jönköping and their way of writing. By examining the grammatical structures in five blog posts by each blogger and comparing them with each other, we wish to detect a possible common blog language. In our background we describe the development of the blog and its role in the Swedish school. Research on blogs, with specific focus on blog language, is limited. Our survey has been carried put through a qualitative study based on style analysis with variable analysis as a supplement.  The theoretical premiss of our paper is genre theory that refers to that the genre is influenced, changed and created in social situations. In our survey we have chosen to examine variables in orthography and syntax. Based on the blog posts, we can see that there are clear influences from the spoken language in the bloggers’ written language. We believe that this trend with the liberal usage of punctuation, easy-to-read language and the negligence of written language norms are similarities that form a blog language.

Pasitikėjimo tinklaraščių įrašais metodo sudarymas ir tyrimas / Trust of weblog records method development and research

Jonušas, Stanislovas 15 July 2009 (has links)
[toliau žr. visą tekstą] / The main aim of this work is to create the system of weblog trust. The system will offer to user subjective evaluation about the article. To calculate the subjective evaluation there is used social network. There are users, who evaluates articles according the system of evaluation. The same time they form network of trust. Estimators doesn‘t know each other directly. There comes main question, how to calculate trust of unfamiliar users. In this study there will be elaborating algorithms of users intertrust and right selection. To TidalTrust algorithm, there will be offered extention, which solves the main problem of time counting. Using calculated algorithm of users intertrust there will be offered approach of calculation, which gives us the recomendationt of article trust.
