Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur matematik synliggörs av pedagoger vid måltidssituationen i förskolan. I begreppet måltidssituation innefattas såväl dukningssituationen som själva lunchmåltiden. Måltidssituationen är en rutinsituation som vi menar har stor pedagogisk potential för lärande och utveckling. Den kan däremot se ut på många olika sätt och utgången av den beror ofta på vad pedagogen har för intentioner. Förskolans pedagoger uppmärksammar matematiken i planerade aktiviteter, men utifrån egna erfarenheter har pedagoger svårare att synliggöra matematiken i vardagen. Tidigare forskning visar att måltidssituationen är en stund med goda förutsättningar för lärande, där pedagoger har möjlighet att synliggöra matematiken. För att undersöka vilket matematiskt innehåll som synliggörs under måltidssituationen samt hur den används av pedagoger för lärande med fokus på matematik, valdes en kvalitativ studie. Studien bygger på observationer av måltidssituationer på en förskola och består av två delstudier samt faller inom ramarna för det sociokulturella perspektivet på lärande. I analysarbetet har vi använt oss utav Bishops matematiska aktiviteter.      Studiens resultat visade att pedagogerna använde måltidssituationen för att synliggöra matematiken. Pedagogerna använde sig utav matematiska begrepp, samt genom att ställa öppna frågor till barnen där de fick möjlighet att uttrycka sina tankar och funderingar. Det matematiska innehåll som var mest framträdande i de båda delstudierna var att räkna, men resultatet visade även på ett varierat matematiskt innehåll.

Many studies of American poetry view modernism as an eruption of formal and technical innovations that respond to momentous cultural and political changes, but few attempt to consider the flow and restriction of desire among these changes. This dissertation argues that American modernist poets construct models of desire based on the rejection of sensual objects and a subsequent redirection of desire toward the self and the creative mind. In addition, these models of desire result in a conception of subjects as whole, discrete, and isolated. In the first chapter, I distinguish between Walt Whitman's sensualist model of desire and Emily Dickinson's intellectualist mode that defers satisfaction. I contend that Ezra Pound, Wallace Stevens, T. S. Eliot, and H.D. (Hilda Doolittle) develop from Dickinson's perspective of deferred satisfaction to an outright rejection of physical desire. The manner and implications of this reorganization of desire differ among these poets, as do the poetic techniques they utilize, but underlying these differences is a related refusal to pursue objects of sensual pleasure. Pound withdraws desire from the world by turning objects into static images; desire is then able to flourish in the creative mind. Stevens allows the imagination to remake the world, creating manifold abstractions for subjects who otherwise reject sensuality. The second chapter provides a close reading of Eliot's The Waste Land to show how the presentation of sexual futility leads to a poetic experience of separation as a means of spiritual reformation. The third chapter reads H.D.'s Trilogy as a contemplation of the destruction of World War II and the persistent, unified self that outlasts it. Rather than interacting with this devastated world, H.D. insists that desire must be redirected toward the effort of spiritual redemption. In the fourth chapter, Elizabeth Bishop begins to question the deliberate rejection of the world. She sees a world that reasserts itself and imagines a subject who, though still yearning for unity, must admit an inescapably physical environment. The conclusion considers how postwar American poets continue to dissolve the subject and release desire into the world, emphasizing the present moment rather than a lasting, unified self.

More than half a century has passed since the Protestant Three-Self Patriotic Movement was established, and quickly rose to monopolize institutionalized Protestantism in China. The Three-Self theology remains poorly understood, however, both on mainland China, and abroad. This study intends to uncover why Ting's work has been constructed in the way it has been, to delve beneath its totalizing discourses as they were shaped and reshaped in the transitional period, and on into the 1980s, when Three-Self theologians were active again. As Ting's work is considered an official guide to Theological Reconstruction, this examination of Ting's theology also aims to show how, and why, the CCP accommodated or endorsed Ting's projects, discourses and evaluations, and what the impact of this was. Centring on the idea of the Three-Self, each of the chapters of this study will further elaborate upon the emergence and development of Three-Self principles in China, and how it helped to form the core of Ting's theology, most particularly in the 1980s. Chapter One presents the Three-Self's original meaning. Simultaneously, close attention is paid to how Chinese Christians practised the Three-Self principles, tackled various issues such as the interaction with traditional Chinese culture, religion and science, and Christianity and revolution in the 1920s and 1930s. The key theme of Chapter Two, consequently, is located in the question of how the Three-Self has mutated as a political instrument, and transformed itself into the Three-Self movement between 1950 and 1979. Chapter Three, from a political perspective, is devoted to presenting how we are to understand Ting's Theological Reconstruction, in comparison with the Three-Self in the 1950s. The key consideration of Chapter Four is to engage with Ting's idea of Theological Reconstruction in 1980s, which includes his particular way of appropriating Christianity in the contemporary Chinese context. In the light of Stephen Bevans' classification of contextual theology, this chapter's three thematic parts point to three patterns which were adapted to construct Chinese theology in the past and contemporary history of Christianity in China. Surveying the central concept of the 'Cosmic Christ', and why/how Ting has been so passionate about popularizing this idea in China, this chapter will provide a thorough review of the particular work in Ting Kuanghsün Wenji (Collected Essays of Bishop Ting), and this detailed account provides an opportunity to observe how Ting weaves Marxism, process theology and liberation theology into his theological construction, and how he links his theological proposal to mainstream theology. In the final chapter, this study will investigate the strength and weakness of Ting's Theological Reconstruction. I will argue that Ting's main purpose in transforming, as well as reconstructing, Christianity is not to try to make Christianity more easily accepted by the Chinese in their cultural and social situation, but it is instead intended to be used as a 'post-transformational Christianity', specifically as an instrument to provide help for the CCP to find a way out of its political situation.

Det är inte ovanligt att förskollärare har en pessimistisk inställning till och känner en osäkerhet inför matematikämnet samtidigt som barns kunskaper i matematik har blivit allt sämre. Det krävs en förändring för att barn ska få möjlighet att utveckla grundläggande kunskaper inom ämnet. Syftet med studien är att skapa en produkt som kan stödja det matematiska lärandet inom samtliga innehållsområden som förskolans läroplan förespråkar, detta för att kunna ge ett bidrag till förskolan. Produkten består av två böcker, en barnbok och en lärarhandledning, som utgör ett arbetsmaterial för de äldre barnen på förskolan. Studien består av en produktutveckling i tre steg. Först har materialet utformats med stor hänsyn till förskolans läroplan, Bishops sex matematiska aktiviteter men också vetenskapligt granskade metoder för undervisning i matematik. Därefter har en enkätstudie utförts genom att materialet delats ut till personer som har koppling till barns lärande i förskolan. Det sista steget består av tolkning av insamlade data och korrigeringar i böckerna efter respondenternas åsikter och kritik angående produkten. Resultatet består av två böcker, vilka finns tillgängliga i PDF-format samt att utdrag ur dessa finns tillgängliga som bilagor i detta arbete. Slutsatsen är att materialet kan stödja barns lärande inom samtliga matematiska innehållsområden som förskolans läroplan förespråkar.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur matematik kan synliggöras i vardagen och hur förskollärare arbetar med matematikundervisning i förskolan. Kvalitativ metod valdes för intervjuer med åtta förskollärare i fyra olika förskolor. Vi genomförde en tematisk analys av resultatet och analyserade sedan resultat utifrån Bishops sex kulturhistoriska matematiska aktiviteter och sociokulturella teoretiska perspektiv. Resultatet visade att förskollärarna arbetar dagligen med matematikundervisning och matematiska begrepp genom att räkna, mäta, lokalisera, leka, designa och förklara. Slutsatsen som kan dras utifrån denna studie är att matematik i förskolan är viktig för att stärka barns lärande i matematik. Förskollärare behöver ta hänsyn till aktiviteter för att barnen ska få grundläggande matematiska färdigheter.
