As personagens-tipo na oralidade representada: um estudo da peça O juiz de Paz da roça, de Martins Pena / Stock characters in represented orality: a study of the play O Juiz de Paz da roça by Martins Pena

Santana, Katiuscia Cristina 14 October 2013 (has links)
By focusing on the comedy O Juiz de Paz da roça, by Martins Pena, from the Romantic period of the Literature, we aim to present the relation between representation of the spoken language and the characterization of stock characters. Stock characters represent a society or a social group, which are presented in literary fiction in general. Based on the theoretical framework of Conversation Analysis, Pragmatics and Interactional Sociolinguistics, we start from the hypothesis that, just like actions in a play, spoken language plays a crucial role for the characterization of these characters, which are very common in the comedy of manners, which had Martins Pena as its precursor in Brazil. The construction of social types is possible because of the authors work of representing the spoken language at that specific time along with an environment where several stock characters interact. As well as lexical choices, forms of address and other linguistics elements feature the stock characters, taking into consideration the significance of the words and various relationships between the locutors and interlocutors, such as gender, age, degree of formality, politeness and intimacy in the context of the authors work. Thus, this dissertation presents an analysis of each characters role in the play, by analyzing non-verbal and verbal elements such as lexical forms, forms of address and phonological aspects in order to reveal how the typification and the hierarchy of the characters is constructed in the given play.

A importância das unidades centrais em anéis de grupo / The importance of central units in group rings

Souza Filho, Antonio Calixto de 14 December 2000 (has links)
In this dissertation, we discuss the Problem of the Isomorphism in group rings for infinite groups as G × C. This is presented in [14]. Such article states a theorem which shows an equivalence to the isomorphism problem between that infinite class group and finite groups verifying the Normalizer Conjecture. Our main purpose is the Normalizer Conjecture and the Isomorphism Conjecture relationship remarked in the cited article to the groups above. Following, we consider a group ring theorem to the central units subgroup firstly communicated in [9] and generalized in [17] and [7]. We point up the importance of such theorem to the Group Ring Theory and we give a short and a new demonstration to Mazurs equivalence theorem from using a suitable central unit altogether with its structure lightly by the Central Unit Theorem on focus. We conclude this work sketching the ZA5 central units subgroup on showing it is a free finitely generated group of rank 1 from the presenting construction in Aleevs article [1].

As personagens femininas de Graciliano Ramos: estrutura e função / The female characters of Graciliano Ramos: structure and function

Pollo, Beatriz Carolina 18 September 2017 (has links)
The following research focuses on the female characters of Graciliano Ramos in his works Caetés, São Bernardo, Angústia, Vidas Secas and Infância. Thinking about the concepts of Antonio Candido on structure and function, we analyze how the literary construction relates to the social and historical life in the moment that the books were written, the decade of 1930. From the analyzes made, we realized the importance of these female characters, even when left in the background.

L'Evolution des Femmes dans les Rougon-Macquart D'Emile Zola

Unknown Date (has links)
This study examines the representation of women in Emile Zola’s famous series Les Rougon-Macquart. Critics have described Zola’s novels and their presentation of women as misogynist, yet this judgment obscures many of the textual details establishing the female protagonists’ relationships to industrial capitalism and the rapidly changing social landscape in late nineteenth century France. This study reexamines the narrative synthesis between Zola’s naturalist “objective” narrator and his female protagonists. It also highlights one particular pairing that of Adelaide Fouque and her opportunist daughter-in-law, Felicité Puch: Whereas Adelaide, the biological matriarch of the family who figures in each of the twenty novels, does not have an active voice, Felicité as maternal protectrice of the family speaks frankly, even aggressively. Zola uses this pairing to link one generation to the next, a key structural element of his naturalist project. Ultimately, Zola’s representation of women is more complex than might otherwise be understood. / Includes bibliography. / Thesis (M.A.)--Florida Atlantic University, 2016. / FAU Electronic Theses and Dissertations Collection

Sistemática da Seção Atlides sensu Robbins (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae, Theclinae, Eumaeini) / Systematics of the Atlides Section sensu Robbins (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae, Theclinae, Eumaeini)

Martins, Ananda Regina Pereira 26 September 2014 (has links)
The establishment of sections in Eumaeini contributed significantly to the classification of this tribe, which still has many taxonomic problems. However, many studies have yet to be performed, aiming to understand phylogenetic relationships of genera and species, and to reconstruct the evolutionary history of biologically relevant characters (ex. secondary sexual organs), providing supports for understanding speciation processes that contribute to the diversity of the group. Thus, the main objective of the present study is to establish a more stable classification for the Atlides section. As consequences of this objective, it was possible to test the monophyly of the genus Theritas Hübner, based on morphological characters; proposing monophyletic groups within Theritas, for further review of the species; describing a new species listed as sp. # 128 in checklist of the Atlas of Neotropical Lepidoptera; and providing guide lines for understanding the evolution of secondary sexual characters found in the Atlides section. A total of 82 morphological characters were collected: two from head, 65 from wings, two from thorax, one from external abdomen, eight from male genitalia and four from female genitalia. Phylogenetic relationships were studied according to the cladistic method. Tests assuming equal and different characters\' weights were performed. The characters\' weights were established using the implicit weighting method with values of 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 25, 50, 250 and 1000 for the constant of concavity (k). Three most parsimonious trees were obtained with equal characters weights analyses (L=296, Ci= 50, Ri= 78). Cladistics results showed that Atlides section does not constitute a monophyletic group as it had been proposed; Theritas Hübner, 1818 does not constitute a monophyletic group and it has being dismembered into three genera: Theritas Hübner, 1818 (sensu stricto), Denivia Johnson, 1992, revalidated and Margaritheclus Bálint, 2002, revalidated. The new species listed as sp. # 128 belongs to Denivia Johnson and it was described as Denivia silma Martins & Robbins, new species. It was proposed three new combinations, one in Margaritheclus Bálint and two in Denivia Johnson, and one new synonym in Theritas Hübner. The secondary sexual organs proved to be homoplastic, with gene regulation as a plausible explanation for the evolutionary pattern presented.

Perfil da voz: potências da enunciação em Lucíola, de José de Alencar / A portrait of the voice: features of enunciation

Maniçoba, Geovanina Rosa de Sá 29 September 2017 (has links)
In Lucíola, José de Alencar is the real author whereas Mr. Paulo Silva is the fictional one. The narrator is also a confessional hero examining his own past searching for the image of a woman. Mrs. GM is his interlocutor. Lúcia is the sitter, the one that is being portrayed, girlfriend and courtesan. This analysis is more interested in how things are said than in what is said; therefore it contemplates the mechanisms of enunciation. The study is not focused in the female character but dedicated to her lover; even though it is not against the man, it aims, throughout the first chapters, to confront his self-image and the interpretation he offers to the story. The fifth segment interrogates how words and imagery give a form to sex as a matter of speech. The following portion explores imitation as a recurrent theme in the book and as a thread that sews form and meaning, words and ideas. The last section investigates the names of the characters as a choice of words, under the domain of artifice.

Personnage collectif, personnage individuel : Tableau d'un parcours dialectique (1830-1930) / Collective Character, Individual Character : Scenes of a Dialectical Journey (1830-1930)

Bruschi, Filippo 30 May 2011 (has links)
Collective Character, Individual Character: Scenes of a Dialectical Journey (1830-1930) At the beginning of the nineteenth century, the introduction of the people into the social and artistic scene marks the end of the "era of the individual". Henceforth, it is the question of totality that is affirmed in all fields and that imposes in the dramatic field a new relation between individual and collective characters. The latter are for Goethe, Baudelaire and Wagner the occasion for a dialectic tension susceptible to generate new theatrical forms. It will be the Naturalist School (from Zola to Hauptmann) which favours more openly this articulation in making the milieu itself an actor. The antithesis of the first movement is instigated by symbolism, which claims the same desire to go past conventions, but through the invention of character-myths and of polymorphous choralités exiled from any socio-historical reality. While Maeterlinck and Claudel show the limits of this model, other persuasions (Mallarmé) conceive the essence of theatre as one of a dialogue between the hero and the crowd against the backdrop of a social ritual in the process of transformation. With Italian futurism and Apollinaire this ritualism reaches its point of incandescence and claims a fully assumed fusion of the individual and the collective. Far from the these provocative syntheses, Pirandello, Ibsen and the expressionists will devote themselves to throwing light on the now opressive role of the collective on the individual character. Taking note of this reversal of hierarchical and dialectical relations in drama, does not Brecht’s theatre offer the alternative of a more dynamique and less deadly collusion between individual and collective characters?
