The question to be answered is: how does Jesus Christ, in the work of this author, fulfill the phases of the myth of the Hero-Savior in the comics? According to Carl Gustav Jung and Joseph Campbell, the myth is presented as a continuous presence in the history of the culture of humanity. When studying the myth, it is not intended to demean and defend the religious creed, since the mythological explanation, from analytical psychology, shows the meaning in the continuity of collective behavior having as its driving force the collective unconscious. Jesus Christ, as a man and as a myth inherited in the social mentality, must be seen also in his humanity, and here in his influence and importance in the culture of humanity. Finally, an attempt is made to establish an application and gauge the space that the use of comics has been occupying in the education and in the influence of the religious culture. It turns out that the heroic characters of comics are present in the Christian churches in their pastors' performance. On the other hand, the work of Sérgio Cariello demonstrates how sufficient is the unique image of Jesus Christ as Savior, and this, in theology, falls within the general revelation. / Esta é uma pesquisa sobre as convergências de quadrinhos, imagens e mitos que aparecem na narrativa bíblica em quadrinhos na obra do artista Sérgio Cariello. A pergunta que se pretende responder é: como Jesus Cristo, na obra deste autor, cumpre as fases do mito do herói salvador no transcorrer dos quadrinhos? Segundo Carl Gustav Jung e Joseph Campbell, o mito é apresentado como presença contínua na história da cultura da humanidade. Ao estudar o mito, não se pretende desmerecer e nem defender o credo religioso, pois a explicação mitológica, a partir da psicologia analítica mostra o significado na continuidade do comportamento coletivo tendo como força matriz o inconsciente coletivo. Jesus Cristo, como homem e como mito herdado na mentalidade social, deve ser encarado também em sua humanidade, e aqui na sua influência e importância na cultura da humanidade. Por fim, tenta-se estabelecer uma aplicação e aferir o espaço que o uso dos quadrinhos vem ocupando na educação e na influência da cultura religiosa. Verifica-se que os personagens heroicos dos quadrinhos estão presentes nas igrejas cristãs nas apresentações de seus pastores. Em contrapartida, a obra de Sérgio Cariello demonstra o quão suficiente é a imagem singular de Cristo Jesus como Salvador e isto, na teologia, cabe dentro da revelação geral.

Due to a Yellow Fever epidemic, the school was transferred to the city in Minas referred above. In its context set in this state, the Evangelical Institute became responsible for the establishment of the first Agriculture School in the state of Minas Gerais (1908) and third one in the country. Besides the pioneerism in Farming Studies, the quoted institute also became the first of its kind at the Agrobusiness Studies, specially represented by Dairy Studies, already active when the Agriculture Studies was implemented in the city of Lavras, making this the first initiative of this kind in what the present day authors classify as formal education. More than only a historical narrative of the North Americans initiative, the investigation sourced in the documents belonging to the archives related to the institution has produced a report about the historical and sociopolitical background which are part of the initiative, and also a report on the characters that had a leading role at the beginning of the Agrobusiness education in Minas Gerais, including the Dairy subject itself, its study material, curriculum and educational practices. This paper also includes an apuro acho about the wide legacy on the progress in the Agrobusiness Education field which this pioneer iniciative has produced in the state of Minas Gerais and in the country, and ended up to be another experience which, even when analyzed in its specific context, does not and can not stop providing elements for the discussion on the Professional Education in the present days. / Em 1892 missionários norte-americanos estabeleceram na cidade de Lavras (MG) o Instituto Evangélico, primeira escola de orientação protestante do país, que tivera seu início em 1869 na cidade de Campinas (SP), como Colégio Internacional, e que por conta de uma epidemia de febre amarela foi transferida para a referida cidade do interior de Minas Gerais. No contexto lavrense o Instituto Evangélico se tornou responsável pela fundação da primeira Escola de Agricultura do estado de Minas Gerais (1908) e terceira do país. Além do pioneirismo no Ensino Agrícola, a referida instituição também se tornou vanguardista no Ensino Agroindustrial, especialmente representado pela disciplina de Laticínios, já presente no primeiro ano em que o Curso Agrícola foi implantado na cidade de Lavras, sendo esta a primeira iniciativa deste perfil no âmbito do que os autores atuais classificam como educação formal. Mais do que apenas uma narrativa histórica da iniciativa norte-americana, a investigação realizada especialmente a partir de documentos pertencentes aos acervos relacionados com a instituição, permitiu um relato sobre o contexto histórico sócio-político envolvido na iniciativa, bem como sobre as personalidades que protagonizaram os primórdios do ensino agroindustrial em terras mineiras, e a própria disciplina de Laticínios em si, incluindo o material didático, currículo escolar e práticas educacionais. O trabalho também inclui uma abordagem sobre o amplo legado de avanços na área da educação agroindustrial que esta iniciativa pioneira propiciou no estado de Minas Gerais e no país, mostrando-se como mais uma experiência que mesmo analisada em seu contexto específico, não deixa e não pode deixar de oferecer elementos para discussão da Educação Profissional nos dias atuais.

To introduce this debate a bibliographical research was made concerning light in visual arts, across different historical periods, within the interdisciplinary scope in which the technologies and languages are approached. However, the investigation in this dissertation is focused on the study of the experiences and works by renowned and active artists in the contemporary Brazilian scene: the duo Mirella Brandi x MuepEtmo and the artist Luiz duVa. The research presented here involves these contemporary artist’s critical fortune, along with unpublished interviews with the three artists during the year of 2016 and the first semester of 2017. To show the autonomy of light in their artworks, readings of the Trilogia das Cores (Color Trilogy 2010-2015), light and sound performances by the duo Mirella Brandi x MuepEtmo that research the narrative potential of these elements, along with the luminous installation Espaço Alter[ado] (Alter[ade] Space 2014-2015) and the live experiences PULSAR (PULSATE 2014-2015) by Luiz duVa were conducted. In the final considerations, this academic work shows that the light perceived and worked by the artists has an autonomous character, because it can be considered as the main element in their work. It is also believed that the light in their works sparks the debate on the issues such as narrative, materiality, the spectator’s perception and the challenges in the documentation. / O presente trabalho parte do debate sobre a luz como uma linguagem artística autônoma na arte contemporânea e reflete sobre questões que essa autonomia propõe. Para apresentar este debate, foi feita pesquisa bibliográfica referente à luz nas artes visuais, em diferentes períodos históricos, dentro de um escopo interdisciplinar que aborda as tecnologias e as linguagens. No entanto a investigação desta dissertação tem como foco o estudo das experiências e trabalhos de artistas reconhecidos e atuantes no cenário brasileiro contemporâneo: a dupla Mirella Brandi x MuepEtmo e o artista Luiz duVa. A pesquisa aqui apresentada envolve a fortuna crítica dos artistas contemporâneos, além de entrevistas inéditas com os três artistas no decorrer do ano de 2016 e no primeiro semestre de 2017. Para demonstrar a autonomia da luz em suas obras, foi realizada uma leitura da Trilogia das Cores (2010-2015), performances de luz e som da dupla Mirella Brandi x MuepEtmo que pesquisam o potencial narrativo destes elementos, assim como da instalação luminosa Espaço Alter[ado] (2014 – 2015) e das vivências intituladas PULSAR (2014 – 2015) de Luiz duVa. Nas considerações finais, o trabalho demonstra que a luz percebida e trabalhada pelos artistas tem um caráter autônomo, pois pode ser considerada como o elemento principal de suas obras. Acredita-se também que a luz em seus trabalhos propicia o debate sobre questões como narrativa, materialidade, percepção do espectador e os desafios na documentação.

However, this occupation brings low densities, and burdens public agents with the expensive costs of extending infrastructure in vaster and distant spaces. This kind of occupation tends to multiply disorganized, disconnected, and often enclosed urban enclaves such as closed subdivisions, created according to the logic of real estate developers, limiting social exchange between social groups. This phenomenon, which presents peculiar traits in each locality or region – as seen in the referential cases of the American Sunbelt and Houston, Texas; and the megadevelopment of Nordelta to the North of Buenos Aires, Argentina – marks the formation of the São Paulo Macrometropolis, an urban complex in the State of São Paulo, Brazil, formed by the articulation of the Metropolitan Regions of São Paulo, Campinas, Baixada Santista, Vale do Paraíba / Litoral Norte, Sorocaba and the Urban Agglomerations of Jundiaí and Piracicaba; and, at the heart of this territory, occurs intensively in the city of Itupeva, which in this work is the object of study. Although a number of uses are present, the main protagonists in this case are residential subdivisions that function as gated communities, which multiplied intensively between the years 1990 and 2010. There is another example in the region that illustrates this phenomenon, the enterprise "Vida Completa Serra Azul", a private complex which brings together a range of urban activities; such as residential areas, hotel, theme parks, services and entertainment with controlled access. This urban morphology is supported by commercial enclaves, designed, implemented and managed by the private sector, and depends on your purchasing power to access its various elements. / Observa-se ao redor do globo a emergência, desde o final do século XX, de um novo tipo de ocupação urbana, de caráter disperso ou difuso, consequência de um conjunto de fatores que incluem a revolução tecnológica, as favoráveis condições econômicas globais vigentes em torno da última virada do século, políticas urbanas neoliberais e a readequação dos modos de vida numa sociedade em reformulação. Contudo, destaca-se a baixa densidade dessas ocupações, os onerosos custos para o poder público em termos da provisão de infraestrutura em extensões e distâncias muito ampliadas, e a natureza sócio-espacial dessa ocupação, que tende a se multiplicar de forma desorganizada e desconectada, formando muitas vezes enclaves, atendendo somente a pautas imobiliárias, sem relação com a cidade, desfavorecendo os palcos de troca social entre diferentes grupos sociais. Esse fenômeno, que apresenta diferentes particularidades em cada região ou local – como verificamos nos casos referenciais do Sunbelt e de Houston, Texas, nos Estados Unidos, e do macroempreendimento Nordelta, ao Norte de Buenos Aires, Argentina – marca a formação da Macrometrópole Paulista, complexo urbano formado pela articulação das regiões metropolitanas de São Paulo, Campinas, Baixada Santista, Vale do Paraíba / Litoral Norte, Sorocaba e pelas Aglomerações Urbanas de Jundiaí e Piracicaba; e, no âmago desse território macrometropolitano, ocorre de forma intensa no município de Itupeva/SP, Brasil, que nesta dissertação é o objeto de estudo. Embora haja variedades nos usos, nota-se a criação de loteamentos residenciais, funcionando como condomínios horizontais fechados, como principal protagonista desse processo nesse município, adquirindo maior intensidade de ocupação entre os anos de 1990 a 2010. Além do uso residencial, há na região um exemplo bem ilustrativo desse fenômeno, trata-se do empreendimento “Vida Completa Serra Azul”, complexo privado que reúne uma gama de atividades urbanas; como moradia, serviços e entretenimento, com acesso controlado – uma morfologia urbana sustentada por enclaves comerciais, onde depende-se de poder aquisitivo para acessar os variados elementos urbanos privados.

It is noticed that the debate about the essay-film has deepened in the questions related to the image, thus, the work sought to organize the international and national bibliography on the subject, evidencing the absence of approaches in the sonic field and bringing a questioning that dialogues and contributes to the discussions about sound in the cinema. It is an interdisciplinary work that involves sound language in the audiovisual field and the technologies that produce it. / Essa tese discute e analisa particularidades e nuances sonoras presentes em filmes-ensaio, demonstrando a singularidade estética desse tipo de produção audiovisual contemporânea. Percebe-se que o debate sobre o filme-ensaio tem se aprofundado nas questões referentes à imagem, assim, o trabalho buscou organizar a bibliografia internacional e nacional a respeito do assunto, evidenciando a ausência de abordagens no campo sônico e trazendo um questionamento que dialoga e contribui com as discussões sobre o som no cinema. Trata-se de um trabalho interdisciplinar que envolve a linguagem sonora no âmbito audiovisual e as tecnologias que a produzem.

Furthermore, impairments in these processes seem to interfere with the social functioning of these patients. Nevertheless, the neurocognitive mechanisms underlying the processing of prosodic, facial expression and semantic processing of objects in patients with autism is still poorly understood, especially when considering the age range from 3 to 6 years old. Moreover, the existing studies on these processes using high-temporal resolution methods, such as electroencephalography, are still scarce. Therefore, the studies presented in this dissertation aimed to investigate the electrophysiological correlates underlying tasks of semantic processing of objects, facial and prosodic emotional expression with maternal and unknown person interaction. Thus, three experiments using the event-related potentials method were developed in virtue of its exceptional temporal resolution. Results different from the literature were found, since the presence of electrophysiological markers underlying the processing of semantic information (N400) and basic sensory components (P1, N170, N100 e P200) were observed in the group of autism and control group. Moreover, the mother’s voice elicited increased amplitude in some electrophysiological components, mainly in the group of autism. These results demonstrate the important maternal influence in the processing of semantic information and, hence, in the cognitive and social development of the child, seeming the ability of joint attention preserved in children with autism in relation to the maternal interaction. / Pacientes com transtorno do espectro do autismo apresentam déficits significativos no desenvolvimento e processamento de linguagem, assim como prejuízo no processamento e interpretação de emoções. Por outro lado, anomalias nestes processos parecem interferir com o funcionamento social destes pacientes. Não obstante, os mecanismos neurocognitivos subjacentes ao processamento de prosódia, expressão facial e semântico de objetos em pacientes com autismo permanecem ainda mal compreendidos, especialmente se considerada a faixa etária de 3 a 6 anos. Ademais, os estudos existentes sobre estes processos utilizando metodologias de elevada resolução temporal, como a eletroencefalografia, são ainda escassos. Por conseguinte, os estudos apresentados nesta tese tiveram como objetivo compreender os mecanismos eletrofisiológicos subjacentes a tarefas de processamento semântico de objetos, de expressão emocional e prosódia com a interação materna e com interação de pessoa desconhecida. Com efeito, foram desenvolvidos três experimentos com recurso à metodologia de potenciais evocados (do inglês event-related potentials – ERP) em virtude da sua resolução temporal. Resultados controversos a literatura foram encontrados, uma vez que foi observada a presença de marcadores eletrofisiológicos subjacentes ao processamento de informação semântica (N400) e componentes sensoriais básicos (P1, N170, N100 e P200) no grupo com autismo semelhante ao grupo controle. Além disso, foi observado que a voz materna elicia maior amplitude em alguns componentes eletrofisiológicos, principalmente no grupo com autismo. Estes resultados evidenciam a influência materna no processamento de informações semânticas e, consequentemente, no desenvolvimento cognitivo e social da criança, sendo que nesse estudo a habilidade de atenção compartilhada parece preservada em crianças com autismo em relação à interação materna.

Despite being a deeply studied text, this dissertation aims to approach it within the scope of a hermeneutical analysis of the discourse, seeking to better understand its pertinence and adequacy, both at the time of its pronouncement and in the present day. In its original context, Luther King's speech points to the struggle against racial segregation and the exclusion of civil rights of black Americans. The manner in which the speech and the objectives of the March for Rights and Labor were presented took over the US capital city with people aggrieved for suffering segregation and sensitive to this intolerant attitude. For this, this dissertation, as it aims a Hermeneutic Analysis of the Discourse, recovers historical, social, political and religious contexts. The present study also makes intertextual connections to other Luther King’s conferences, as well as with several moments in which the presence of the text of the Sacred Scriptures can be recognized. Finally, under a contemporary view, this research verifies the current relevance of the theme of "I Have a Dream", a discourse that is constantly re-contextualized and whose theme is always urgent. / O discurso I Have a Dream, proferido por Martin Luther King, tem ecoado pelos cantos do mundo, ao longo dos anos, por motivos políticos, sociais e religiosos. Apesar de ser um texto muito estudado, esta dissertação toma-o, para uma análise hermenêutica do discurso, com a finalidade de melhor compreender sua pertinência e adequação tanto à época de seu pronunciamento, quanto aos dias atuais. Em seu contexto originário, o discurso de Luther King aponta para a luta contra a segregação racial e a eliminação de direitos civis dos negros americanos. A forma como foram apresentados o discurso e os intentos da Marcha por Direitos e Trabalho povoou a capital dos EUA, com pessoas insatisfeitas, por sofrerem as segregações e outras por serem sensíveis a essa atitude intolerante. Para tanto, esta dissertação, ao fixar-se numa proposta de Análise Hermenêutica do Discurso, recupera os contextos histórico, social, político e religioso. O presente estudo faz, ainda, aproximações intertextuais com outras conferências de Luther King e também, com diversos momentos em que se pode reconhecer a presença do texto das Sagradas Escrituras. Por fim, com o olhar voltado para a contemporaneidade, esta pesquisa verifica a atualidade da temática de “I Have a Dream”, discurso que constantemente se retextualiza e cuja temática se faz sempre urgente.

This new component occurs simultaneously but is separated from the well-known microwave spectral component that has a maximum at frequencies of order of tens of 𝐺𝐻𝑧, resulting in a doublespectrum structure. Several mechanisms based on different emission processes have been proposed to interpret the new 𝑇𝐻𝑧 spectral component but its origin still remains unknown. The aim of this work is to study the mechanisms of production of secondary electrons and positrons in high-energy nuclear processes (∼ 𝐺𝑒𝑉 ) which occur in solar flares and its possible contribution to the 𝑇𝐻𝑧 spectral component via the emission of gyrosynchrotron/synchrotron radiation. We also discuss the possible contribution of low-energy secondary electrons (∼ 0.1 − 10 𝑀𝑒𝑉 ) to the microwave spectrum of intense events. Using the package FLUKA, a Monte Carlo simulator for calculations of particle transport and interactions in matter, we obtain the energy distributions for secondary electrons and positrons generated by collisions between accelerated protons or 𝛼-particles and nuclei from the ambient solar atmosphere. We consider a simple model for the ambient solar atmosphere and beams of accelerated protons or 𝛼-particles with power-law energy distribution and different angular distributions. The emission spectrum of gyrosynchrotron/synchrotron radiation is obtained by summing the contributions to the total flux density from the secondary electrons and positrons, calculated using a code based on Ramaty’s algorithm from the respective distributions of energy obtained with FLUKA. / Observações recentes de explosões solares em altas frequências de rádio e no infravermelho médio têm fornecido evidências de uma nova componente espectral com fluxos crescentes com a frequência na faixa de sub-𝑇𝐻𝑧 a 𝑇𝐻𝑧. Essa nova componente ocorre simultaneamente mas é separada da bem conhecida componente espectral em micro-ondas que exibe fluxos com máximo em frequências da ordem de dezenas de 𝐺𝐻𝑧, resultando em uma estrutura de duplo-espectro. Vários mecanismos baseados em diferentes processos de emissão têm sido propostos para interpretar a nova componente espectral 𝑇𝐻𝑧 mas sua origem continua ainda desconhecida. O objetivo deste trabalho é estudar os mecanismos de produção de elétrons e pósitrons secundários em processos nucleares de alta energia (∼ 𝐺𝑒𝑉 ) que ocorrem em explosões solares e sua possível contribuição para a componente espectral 𝑇𝐻𝑧 por meio da emissão de radiação girossincrotrônica/sincrotrônica. Também discutimos a possível contribuição de elétrons secundários de baixa energia (∼ 0.1 − 10 𝑀𝑒𝑉 ) para o espectro em micro-ondas de eventos intensos. Utilizando o pacote FLUKA, um simulador Monte Carlo para cálculos do transporte e das interações de partículas na matéria, obtemos as distribuições de energia de elétrons e pósitrons secundários gerados por colisões entre prótons ou partículas-𝛼 acelerados e núcleos da atmosfera solar ambiente. Consideramos um modelo simples para a atmosfera solar ambiente e feixes de prótons ou partículas-𝛼 acelerados com distribuição de energia do tipo lei de potência e diferentes distribuições angulares. O espectro de emissão de radiação girosincrotrônica/sincrotrônica é obtido somando-se as contribuições para a densidade de fluxo total devidas a elétrons e pósitrons secundários, calculadas utilizando-se um código baseado no algoritmo de Ramaty a partir das respectivas distribuições de energia obtidas com o FLUKA.

A brief description of the history of research on graphene, its characteristics and challenges in the area of phase modulation will be presented, emphasizing the applications with modulation by electro-refraction. Through numerical simulations, optical phase modulators based on silicon waveguides with graphene transferred on these guides were designed, quasi-TE and quasi-TM modes were evaluated. Although most graphene-based integrated modulators have been shown to operate in quasi-TE mode, this work demonstrates that the best performance achieved was for quasi-TM mode operation due to a higher concentration of the optical field in the region where the graphene is deposited on the waveguide. The best performance was achieved for a waveguide formed by silicon with 2 layers of graphene in its upper part, separated by a dielectric alumina material, with operation in the quasi-TM mode, with VpL of 0,5 V.mm and electro-optical bandwidth up to 2,85 GHz. / Este trabalho apresenta estudos e simulações de moduladores de fase para sinais ópticos utilizando componentes integrados baseados na fotônica do silício com grafeno visando atender à grande demanda de transmissão de dados (largura de banda) utilizados em indústrias e residências ultimamente. Será apresentada uma breve descrição do histórico de pesquisas sobre o grafeno, suas características e desafios na área de modulação de fase de sinais, dando ênfase às aplicações eletro ópticas com modulação por eletro-refração. Através de simulações numéricas foram projetados moduladores ópticos de fase baseados em guias de onda de silício com o grafeno transferido sobre esses guias, foram avaliados os modos quase-TE e quase-TM. Apesar de a maioria dos moduladores integrados baseados em grafeno que foram demonstrados trabalharem com operação quase-TE, neste trabalho demonstra-se que o melhor desempenho alcançado foi para o modo quase-TM devido a uma maior concentração do campo óptico na região onde o grafeno ´e depositado sobre o guia de onda. O melhor desempenho alcançado foi para um guia de onda formado por silício com 2 camadas de grafeno em sua parte superior, separadas por um material dielétrico de alumina, com operação no modo quase-TM, com VpL de 0,5 V.mm e largura de banda eletro óptica de até 2,85 GHz.
