Společnost nad Sázavou / Society over the Sázava

Kopečková, Petra January 2017 (has links)
The subject of this diploma thesis is based on the specific intention of the town Žďár nad Sázavou to rebuild the original nursery school at Okružní street to the community center. The building of former crches is located on the border of Stalingrad and new locations with family houses Klafar. The design of the building modification of the existing building is based on the perception of the continuity of the development, especially of the building structure. The aim of the project is to create a multifunctional community center with operational and administrative facilities. With regard to the capacity of the current building, it was necessary to extend the extension to meet the spatial requirements of each site. The construction program was specified by the developer and extended by two new facilities - the community center and the headquarters. It also includes the solution of outdoor areas, sufficient parking capacity and, in particular, the creation of a clear identity of the community site.

Kulturně společenské centrum u brněnské přehrady - architektonická studie objektů pro kulturně společenské i sportovní akce / The cultural and community centre near the Brno dam - the architectural design of buildings for cultural and social and sports events

Adámek, Jiří January 2010 (has links)
CULTURALLY COMMUNITY CENTER NEAR TO BRNO´S DAM (BRNO´S RESERVOIRE) – ARCHITECTURAL STUDY OF OBJECTS FOR CULTURAL SOCIALLY AND SPORTS ACTIVITIES One of most considerable recreation area in the immediate vicinity Moravian metropolis is lake called Brno's dam. Impounding reservoir with extent 252 ha was constructed on river Svratka in years 1936- 1940. Today is dam favourite recreation area with regular shipping transport. Architectural study offers new possibilities in evolution territory, whose meaning is for town of principle. Architectural solution of designed objects governs at least by two rules. Accepts current data technical possibilities of our time. Second is spirit of place, to what do earlier Latin said „ genius loci" so, to people have had reason return on put space. Endeavour is, to culturally community centre with place communicate plus people here stop on the way. Division plus placing lake and dam to the landscapes accepts view of landscape, her impact hock, her work upon architecture construction plus urbanism. Designed centre of cultural life try respect it primary objective – place and his spirit. Area be placed on left bank Kníničky's lake, near to the area called „ Sokolák". Culturally community centre is composed from two independent objects, that are together functionally connected. Axes both objects respect how current terrain, whereon are construction, so its altitude surrounding vegetation.

Design of a Sustainable Energy System for a Community Center in rural Mozambique : A Minor Field Study in Mozambique

Säll Magnusson, Emilia, Hahn, Melchior January 2023 (has links)
Access to energy is an important part in the development of most countries and societies, linked to both social and economic growth. Nevertheless, 70% of the population in sub-Saharan Africa does not have access to electricity, which brings consequences to several of these areas. A country to which this largely applies is Mozambique, where the percentage of the country's population that had access to electricity in 2021 was only 31.5%. Working towards the goal of electrifying the least developed countries in a sustainable way, solar technology is believed to have potential to play a vital role, as 60% of the best terrestrial-based global solar resources of the world are located in sub-Saharan Africa. Mini-grids and solar off-grid solutions can further help address the issue of lack of electricity access, especially in rural areas. In previous studies carried out in the village Linga Linga in Mozambique, off-grid solar solutions have been implemented for a small energy demand. With the intention of giving a larger part of the village’s population access to energy services such as light, phone charging and computer access, this thesis will investigate and design an off-grid PV system for a community center in the village. The main research question that will be answered in this report is "How can solar energy be used to supply a community center in the village Linga Linga with a low-cost, reliable and sustainable electricity supply?". To answer the research question, relevant data and information were collected through a literature study on the situation in Mozambique, off-grid PV systems and on PV system components such as inverters, batteries, PV panels and charge controllers. Interviews were also carried out in the village to be able to calculate the expected energy demand of the community center. The community center’s daily energy demand for weekends was estimated to be the highest, at 7 544 Wh with a maximum power demand of 1 230 W. To meet this requirement, the main components were dimensioned so that the system had a maximum power of 2 000 W, a battery storage capacity of 750 Ah and a system voltage of 24 V. For this system, the approximate total cost of the main components was calculated to 56 120 SEK.

Architektonická studie kostela pro sídliště Líšeň-Vinohrady v Brně / The architectural study of the church for the estate Lisen-Vinohrady, Brno

Seidl, Šimon January 2017 (has links)
The main aim of the diploma thesis was to design a building that meets the requirements provided by the announcer and at the same time has a positive impact on the area in both closer and larger context. This may include increasing the number of ecclesiastical buildings, improving the quality of local architecture, expanding the range of social and leisure activities, and cultivating terrain and greenery. All of above on the basis of the analysis of the locality in its context and further coherences (cultural, historical). The object is not only to provide background to enlisted activities, but also to serve as a representative building attracting new visitors. It is an active space connecting the urban population with culture, nature and above all God - with the help of its location on a visible, attractive place with good access. It will be a dominant building expressing its purpose, related to its surroundings and functionally cooperating with the cultural and social happening in Líšeň with a transition to a city-scale dimension.

Centrum Ponava Brno, Královo Pole / Ponava Centre Brno, Královo Pole

Vjaclovský, Jaromír January 2014 (has links)
My diploma thesis is mainly focusing on analyzing the potential of chosen site and it’s possibilities to be used for building a community center. Designed building should serve as a starting point for revitalization of Ponava. It is designed in a way, which makes this building an icon of the whole revitalization process and also is offering a wide variety of cultural events. In a combination with proposed solution for traffic and people flow a meeting point for a wide spectrum should be achieved with designed building as a podium for city life. Office block is then stepping out a bit from this coulisse and is the most dominant part which is supporting the other cantilevered volumes. By doing so, the important role of municipality is captured in the image of the building itself.

A Pedagogy of Holistic Media Literacy: Reflections on Culture Jamming as Transformative Learning and Healing

Stasko, Carly 14 December 2009 (has links)
This qualitative study uses narrative inquiry (Connelly & Clandinin, 1988, 1990, 2001) and self-study to investigate ways to further understand and facilitate the integration of holistic philosophies of education with media literacy pedagogies. As founder and director of the Youth Media Literacy Project and a self-titled Imagitator (one who agitates imagination), I have spent over 10 years teaching media literacy in various high schools, universities, and community centres across North America. This study will focus on my own personal practical knowledge (Connelly & Clandinin, 1982) as a culture jammer, educator and cancer survivor to illustrate my original vision of a ‘holistic media literacy pedagogy’. This research reflects on the emergence and impact of holistic media literacy in my personal and professional life and also draws from relevant interdisciplinary literature to challenge and synthesize current insights and theories of media literacy, holistic education and culture jamming.
