Konfessionella friskolor : Extremism eller rätten att välja

Kassman, Gustav January 2023 (has links)
Independent confessional schools have been a heavily discussed subject in Sweden in recent years. At the same time, the spread of information is shifting more and more from the religious institutions themselves to be controlled by the media according to the mediatization theory. This paper aims to investigate what arguments are used, and which themes can be identified in the discussion about confessional schools in Sweden in two large newspapers using qualitative thematic analysis. Moreover, the investigation is using a quantitative approach to find out if the question about confessional schools have gained more or less attention during recent years, looking at the number of publications from Swedish newspapers. The findings show that the number of publications has risen quite drastically in the last 15 years, and the years with the highest peaks correlate with the election years in 2018 and 2022, which both were election years in Sweden. Moreover, the paper aims to gain a better understanding about how we can relate that discourse to mediatization theory. Meaning that the media plays a big part in controlling the narrative, together with the audience. The results in this investigation are quite similar to previous research concerning what type of themes that can be identified in the discussion and debates about confessional schools. The investigation also highlights some difficulties in the legislation and decisions made to control how confessional schools in Sweden are being run.

Den icke-konfessionella religionsundervisningen : En intervjustudie om gymnasielärares upplevelser / The non-denominational religious education : An interview study on high school teachers' experiences

Fiallos, Annie January 2023 (has links)
This thesis examines non-confessional religious education and upper secondary school teachers' experiences in this context. The purpose of the study is to explore how five teachers in five different upper secondary schools in Sweden interpret and implement non-confessional principles in teaching religious studies in today's society. The research addresses the following questions: How do secondary school teachers interpret the policy document's speech on non-confessional teaching? How is teaching practice in the subject of religion affected based on a non-confessional approach? What challenges emerge in the assignment of being non-confessional in religious education? The study gathers data trough five interviews with upper secondary school teachers from various regions in Sweden and is based on qualitative method with semi-structured interviews. The result of the thesis has been analyzed using thematic analysis. A theory used in this thesis is intercultural religious didactics. This theory emphasizes the importance of cultural diversity and interactions between different religious traditions. The result, which is based on the study's research questions, shows that the informants largely share a common understanding of a non-confessional education that emphasizes neutrality and objectivity without promoting specific religious or secular positions. The impact on teaching practices is reflected in a more tolerant classroom environment that promotes understanding of different cultures and perspectives. Challenges identified show that different religions are understood in different depths and that it is sometimes difficult to balance students' different opinions which can lead to discussions and conflict if the teacher is not providing new perspectives on the students' opinions. In conclusion, a non-confessional approach in school's religious education allows all religions and worldviews to be treated equally. Despite challenges arising from diverse student backgrounds, success lies in reflecting on teaching impact and fostering an open and tolerant classroom environment.

Taufer, Adauto Locatelli January 2011 (has links)
In this thesis, the aspects of literariness the experience and the testimony marks in two texts of contemporary Brazilian literature are investigated. The narrative content is the experience of other people and the personal experience, both in the prisional context. The discussions undertaken in this work are based on four main axes that guide issues, such as concerning memory, which is responsible for the writing process that Luiz Alberto Mendes and Drauzio Varella accomplish; concerning the writing confessional genre, which was chosen by the two writers to restore their memories; concerning the relevant fictional process meaningful to each of these authors during the exposure of their memories; and concerning the language through which it is possible to find out discursive clues that distinguish the experience of witness and reveal aspects of literariness in the narratives engendered by them. Taking into account the study of these four lines, this thesis aims at recognizing the subject insertion that appears in the language shown in Memórias de um sobrevivente (2001), written by Luiz Alberto Mendes and Estação Carandiru (1999), written by Drauzio Varella, in order to explore the marks of enunciation that identify and distinguish witness personal experience. Da guerra à união: uma abordagem histórica da caminhada da Associação Evangélica de Comunidades e do Sínodo Evangélico-Luterano até a sua fusão e formação do Sínodo Evangélico-Luterano Unido / From war to union: an historical apporach to the union of the Associação Evangélica de Comunidades and the Sínodo Evangélico-Luterano leading to the formation of the Sínodo Evangélico-Luterano Unido

Joel Haroldo Baade 30 May 2007 (has links)
This masters thesis is an analysis dealing with confessional identity and ethnic discourse in the context of the approximation of two synods which would constitute the IECLB in 1949, these being, the Associação Evangélica de Comunidades (Evangelical Association of Congregations) and the Sínodo Evangélico Luterano (Evangelical Lutheran Synod), pointing out the conflicts in the process of intersynodical convergence at the institutional and congregational levels. This thesis is divided into three chapters. In the first chapter the confessional issues involved in the relation between the two synods is discussed. The central part of this chapter is the reproduction of the discussions of the educational institutions on the part of the pastors and the divergence of this discussion in relationship to the congregational emphases. In the second chapter we describe the importance of ethnic thinking that occurred in the synods, its relation to the German and Brazilian political situation and to what extent this marked the intersynodical relations. In the third chapter we discuss the coming together and merger of the synods and in what way this process was influenced by the confessional and ethnic discussions. In general, one can say that the coming together of the Associação Evangélica de Comunidades and the Sínodo Evangélico Luterano is marked by conflicts, differences of opinion and wars, but also clear signs of Christian commitment and the search for cooperation and unity are evident.
