Bricolagem e inovatividade organizacional como antecedentes da inovação frugal em mercados emergentes / Bricolage and organizational innovation as antecedents of frugal innovation in emerging markets

Leandro Lima dos Santos 18 December 2018 (has links)
Innovation has been broadly recognized as a fundamental source of competitive advantage for organizations. This study sought to highlight, through the perspective of the organizational learning theory, that companies need to be able to recombine and create their resources through the bricolage behavior in order to develop the frugal innovation in emerging markets. Thus, in this research we tried to answer the following question: Is bricolage an antecedent of frugal innovation for companies in emerging markets? Therefore, in this work the main objective was to identify whether bricolage can influence the development of frugal innovation. In addition, it was also analyzed whether bricolage is stimulated in crisis contexts, evidenced in emerging markets due to resource scarcity and financial crises, as in the case of Brazil. In this sense, the following hypotheses were established: H1: The bricolage process is positively related to frugal innovation; H2: Organizational innovativeness positively moderates the relationship between bricolage and frugal innovation; H3: A crisis context encourages the use of bricolage in companies to develop resources. These hypotheses were statistically tested using the structural equation modeling technique, using a database collected by the survey method encompassing 215 companies in Brazil. The results allowed to support the hypothesis H1 and H3 confirming, respectively, the positive influence of bricolage in the development of frugal innovation, and the influence of the crisis context on the bricolage behavior. The hypothesis H2 was not confirmed, denoting that organizational innovativeness does not necessarily moderate the relationship between bricolage and frugal innovation. This study has contributed to the literature of bricolage and frugal innovation, as well as established a connection between both, evidencing the bricolage as antecedent to develop frugal innovation, especially in contexts of crisis in emerging markets such as experienced in Brazil

For so much, a metodological proceeding was proposed and tested for realization of bibliographic survey, whose stages allowed its structuring. A search in Brazilian journals of Psychology Qualis A and/or B, indexed on basis of virtual data BVS-Psi, for published articles from 2001 to 2008, with at least a psychologist as author and/or co-author was performed. Of a total of 7.550 published articles, there were selected 17 articles, which were paying attention to the established criteria of inclusion. For analysis, there were delimited categories of identification (author, place and chronology); of metodological and theoretic characteristics (theoretical approach, type of study and method); and of content (white type of surgery, population of the acting, proposed intervention and obtained results). It was noticed that the articles were published by psychologists (71,05 %), who are linked to postgraduate courses in institutions of superior teaching, especially USP (47,06 %). Empirical inquiries (76,48 %) were predominant, with cognitivecomportamental theoretical approach (41,18 %). There prevailed the use of semidirected interviews in the pre and/or post surgical period (23,54 %) with the objective to value feelings at pre and/or post surgical contexts (23,54 %) of the adult patient (47,06 %). There are proposed techniques of psychological intervention of evaluation (76,48 %) and pre-surgical preparation (52,95 %), aiming to prevent complications resulting from psychological factors. Because of the shortage of publications devoted specifically to the study of this form of acting, the necessity of new fronts of studies for a deep understanding of the means of acting of the psychologist in surgical contexts was discussed and proposed / O presente trabalho tem como objetivo realizar um mapeamento bibliográfico do conhecimento produzido na literatura científica da Psicologia no que se refere à atuação do psicólogo em contextos cirúrgicos.

A contextual authorization model for access control of electronic patient record in open distributed environments.

Motta, Gustavo Henrique Matos Bezerra 05 February 2004 (has links)
The recent advances in computing and communication technologies allowed ready access to the electronic patient record (EPR) information. High availability of clinical information raises concerns about patients privacy and data confidentiality of their data. The legal regulation mandates the confidentiality of EPR contents. Everyone has to be authorized by the patients to access their EPR, except when this access is necessary to provide care on their behalf. This work proposes MACA, a contextual authorization model for the role-based access control (RBAC) that considers the ac-cess restrictions requirements for the EPR in open and distributed environments. RBAC regulates user’s access to EPR based on organizational functions (roles). Con-textual authorizations use environmental information available at access time, like user/patient relationship, in order to decide whether a user is allowed to access an EPR resource. This gives flexibility and expressive power to MACA, allowing one to establish access policies for the EPR and administrative policies for the RBAC that considers the environmental and cultural diversity of healthcare organizations. MACA also allows EPR components to use RBAC transparently, making it more user friendly when compared with other RBAC models. The implementation of MACA architecture uses the LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) directory server, the Java programming language and the standards CORBA Security Service and Re-source Access Decision Facility. Thus, heterogeneous EPR components can request user authentication and access authorization services in a unified and coherent way across multiple platforms. MACA implementation complies with free software pol-icy. It is based on software components without licensing costs and it offers good performance for the estimated access demand. Finally, the daily use of MACA to control the access of about 2000 users to the EPR at InCor-HC.FMUSP shows the feasibility of the model, of its implementation and the effectiveness of its practical application on real cases.

Inservice teacher education\'s: one context and situations using communication and information technologies.

Almeida, José Joelson Pimentel de 03 April 2006 (has links)
This research work is the result of an ethnographic study at a Municipal School in the city of São Paulo. It is about inservice teacher education\'s contexts and situations using Communication and Information Technologies. For the data analyses, added to focal observations , it was examined some official registries done by teachers during the joint hours and interviews with eight teachers from the same school. The idea was to discuss how the technology is incorporated by the teachers, how this happened (if this happened) and also how this is linked to their inservice education; to analyze if the technology integration is developed because of the teachers interest and to verify the possibilities of education by using those technologies. The data analysis was guided by some concepts such as: contexts, situations and inservice teacher education, including inservice teacher education using communication and information technologies. The inservice education is understood according to reflective teacher and research-teacher concepts. Those concepts are based on metaphors that have its origins in the deregulation of education phenomenon. In this research work, it was developed a methodological possibility to didactic situations for inservice teacher education in similar contexts.

The emergence of meanings of the sound editor during the search and selection of sounds : a communicational and cognitive approach

Denizart, Jean-Michel 22 November 2017 (has links)
Several years ago, the SATIS department of the University of Aix-Marseille and the ASTRAM laboratory initiated the development of an online sound library entitled "Sons du Sud". This sound database is intended for sound professionals and more specifically, sound editors, in the film and audiovisual sectors. The current objective is to develop a new indexing method of sound for Sons du Sud breaking with the logic of causal indexation most widely used. Indeed, it appears that, from the perspective of a filmic exploitation, a sound is rarely selected based on criteria exclusively related to its acoustic origin but also related to the potential meanings it is able to take on with the other materials of filmic expression, the functions it is likely to fulfill, the links it maintains with what the film expresses, and so on. We can then ask ourselves if it is not rather this "information potential" which the semantic descriptors used by the current sound libraries should try to make explicit. Therefore, this thesis is a preliminary step in the development of a new indexing method: in order to meet the requirements of Sons du Sud sound library, it seems essential to devote ourselves entirely to a better understanding of the contributing factors that change the "system of relevance" of its main users, to examine further what guides their approach, polarizes their listening and influences their searches and selections.

Self-Monitoring and Friendship: Individual Differences in Relationship Dissolution

Yoho, Michael 01 January 2018 (has links)
High self-monitors choose as friends skilled activity partners, whereas low self-monitors select friends who are similar in attitude and values. We hypothesized that (a) as self-monitoring increased, individuals would identify the loss of shared interest as the cause for dissolving a former friendship and (b) as self-monitoring decreased, individuals would identify the loss of shared attitudes and values as the cause for dissolving a former friendship. One-hundred sixty one (82 males, 79 females) participants were recruited from MTurk. Participants were prompted with a forced choice measure to identify one of two reasons why a past close friendship dissolved. For one response participants could identify a loss of shared activities, for the other a loss of shared values. Participants then completed the 25-item Self-Monitoring Scale. For exploratory purposes, participants then completed a measure of the strategies they used to terminate that relationship of a best friend. Our results were consistent with our predictions, as self-monitoring appeared to influence the cause of dissolution in former close friendships. Additionally, as self-monitoring tendencies increased, participants were more likely to report using cost escalation, manipulation, distant/mediated communication, and de-escalation as strategies for ending a friendship. Explanations for these findings and suggestions for future research are discussed.

“To be men, not destroyers”: Developing Dabrowskian Personalities in Ezra Pound’s The Cantos and Neil Gaiman’s American Gods

Nicholson, Michelle A 23 May 2019 (has links)
Kazimierz Dabrowski’s psychological theory of positive disintegration is a lesser known theory of personality development that offers an alternative critical perspective of literature. It provides a framework for the characterization of postmodern protagonists who move beyond heroic indoctrination to construct their own self-organized, autonomous identities. Ezra Pound’s The Cantos captures the speaker-poet’s extensive process of inner conflict, providing a unique opportunity to track the progress of the hero’s transformation into a personality, or a man. American Gods is a more fully realized portrayal of a character who undergoes the complete paradigmatic collapse of positive disintegration and deliberate self-derived self-revision in a more distilled linear fashion. Importantly, using a Dabrowskian lens to re-examine contemporary literature that has evolved to portray how the experience of psychopathology leads to metaphorical death—which may have any combination of negative or positive outcomes—has not only socio-cultural significance but important personal implications as well.

Penalized mixed-effects ordinal response models for high-dimensional genomic data in twins and families

Gentry, Amanda E. 01 January 2018 (has links)
The Brisbane Longitudinal Twin Study (BLTS) was being conducted in Australia and was funded by the US National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). Adolescent twins were sampled as a part of this study and surveyed about their substance use as part of the Pathways to Cannabis Use, Abuse and Dependence project. The methods developed in this dissertation were designed for the purpose of analyzing a subset of the Pathways data that includes demographics, cannabis use metrics, personality measures, and imputed genotypes (SNPs) for 493 complete twin pairs (986 subjects.) The primary goal was to determine what combination of SNPs and additional covariates may predict cannabis use, measured on an ordinal scale as: “never tried,” “used moderately,” or “used frequently”. To conduct this analysis, we extended the ordinal Generalized Monotone Incremental Forward Stagewise (GMIFS) method for mixed models. This extension includes allowance for a unpenalized set of covariates to be coerced into the model as well as flexibility for user-specified correlation patterns between twins in a family. The proposed methods are applicable to high-dimensional (genomic or otherwise) data with ordinal response and specific, known covariance structure within clusters.

En komplex historia : Lärares omformning, undervisningsmönster och strategier i historieundervisning på högstadiet / A Complex History : Teachers’ Transformation, Teaching Patterns and Strategies in History Teaching in Lower Secondary School

Jarhall, Jessica January 2012 (has links)
What do history teachers teach about? How do they represent it? Why do they choose to teach the way they do? The main purpose of this study is to analyse what teaching patterns and strategies history teachers in lower secondary schools use in their history teaching for pupils aged 13-16. An additional aim is to get hold of how teachers transform their knowledge and experiences into history teaching. The results are then compared to previous research concerning teaching strategies for history teachers in upper secondary schools. The language the teachers use when they talk about their teaching is also compared to the language found in the field of history didactic research.   Through interviews with five experienced history teachers in two different school contexts their own speech about what they regard as the aim of the teaching of history, what they choose to teach about and what methods they use in history teaching make the foundation for this empirical study. It is the teachers’ words about their own practice, i.e. the thought processes of experienced teachers that are in focus.   Although the study is based on the method of semi-structured qualitative interviews and in some aspects can be regarded as a Grounded Theory study, one theoretical point of view is developed from the thoughts around transformation of the subject history. It concerns how the teachers approach history teaching and what factors the teachers talk about as the main factors of influence.   The study shows both similarities and differences between the teachers’ teaching patterns and strategies as well as between the teachers at lower secondary schools compared to those who teach at upper secondary schools. There seem to be individual patterns for each teacher where their subject matter competence alongside with their personal experiences and interest for the subject history are factors that seem to influence the way the teachers teach. The pupils are one main factor that seems to be important for the teachers in lower secondary schools, as is the use of the national curriculum when planning their teaching. Concerning transformation the question about what methods to use is observed to be the most central. The didactic why, what and how-questions in history teaching are found to be intertwined, and together they build what can be viewed as a teacher’s subject didactic teaching pattern. There are only hints that some of the teachers have developed more sustainable and consequent strategies for their history teaching. One result is that teachers, although they in some sense talk about historical didactic concepts, lack a historical didactic vocabulary to talk about their teaching. I denna studie intervjuas fem erfarna högstadielärare i två olika skolkontexter.
