The theoretical reference that gave support to the research consisted in studies and researches about school direction, detaching itself the following authors: José Augusto Dias, Vitor Henrique Paro e José Carlos Libâneo. The applied methodology began itself with study of exploratory character, with basis in question and observation in three schools; followed of available official documents, observation longer of a school and interview with its manager. The text includes the description and analysis of the action of the researched school. The choice of the schools initially studied, based itself in the index of school incomings raised by the South 1 Teaching Directorate and by the Evaluate System of School Incomings of São Paulo s State SARESP. The initial conjecture was that the director s action is come back mainly to the execution of the administrative labors and, in a second plan, to the pedagogic action in the school the results of the research confirmed partially such hypothesis, attesting the complexity of the director s action, because while middle-activity, the school administration introduces narrow relations with its end-activity, or better, the pedagogic process. We understand, therefore, that there are many determinants that explain the action of this professional, overloaded of expectation, that affronts the scholar quotidian in the complexity of the conditions of the functioning of public school / Este trabalho teve como objeto de estudo a atuação do diretor de escola pública do Estado de São Paulo e seus objetivos específicos foram compreender e explicar sua atuação face às inúmeras necessidades que são apresentadas e analisar as exigências administrativas que chegam para o diretor resolver diariamente, dificultando o seu olhar para outros campos da escola.

The Departing Experience: a Qualitative Study of Personal Accounts by Women Who Are Former Athletic Directors of Intercollegiate Athletic Programs for Women

Disselkoen, Jackie M. 12 1900 (has links)
What happened to women who are former athletic directors of intercollegiate athletic programs during each of the four stages of the departing experience was the problem of this study. A qualitative design using personal interviews for data collection and ethnoscientific explanation for analysis of the data were used to study thirty-one women who were athletic directors between 1975 and 1986. Analytical tasks performed for each of the four levels of analysis helped answer research questions directed toward finding patterns among women in the following areas: what happened to them within and throughout the four stages of the departing experience, reasons they left the position of athletic director, and satisfaction in their subsequent job. Analysis of the data established that the departing experience occurred in four stages. How the subjects responded to the way that opportunities for female student-athletes were offered during each st3ge of the departing experience determined whether they were in positive or negative circumstances. Sixteen subjects either were in positive circumstances throughout the departing experience or ended it in positive circumstances. Fifteen subjects were either in negative circumstances throughout the departing experience or ended it in negative circumstances. The ability to reevaluate their beliefs and values, adapt to changes in their programs, make rational decisions, and influence others to support their decisions determined whether they were in positive or negative circumstances in each stage of the departing experience. In general, the findings of this study support literature on women in administrative positions and literature on the effects of job loss and job change.

The frame is constructed maintains especially on the aspects: the refuncionalização the State under the principles of neoliberalism, with the support of ideas Bianchetti (1996); Fiori (1997, 2001); Mezáros (1999, 2002, 2003); Bobbio (2007 ); Access to the direction in public school and public school democratic election of Missouri anchored in Brzezinski (1999, 2005, 2007); Coast (1986); Golden (1990, 2001, 2003) and Paro (1998, 2001, 2003). The influence of the constraints of capitalist society in general administration and therefore the school administration was also explained. Important Discoveries: elections for directors state of Missouri were made in times of strike of teachers, there was agreement between the EEC, responsible for monitoring the process of election, and the union. The lack of quorum to ensure the election democratically demanded rerun in several schools, under the argument that forces in the election for directors could eliminas State System of the conquest of elections for school management.

To show our objective, as the public, non-state-owned sector, we will discuss the administration reform of Brazilian's State, with regard to transferring to the non public sector, normal operations that were the State s obligation before. To comprehend the reasoning of the public non-state-owned sector, it is based on Bresser Pereira and Anthony Giddens; and, trys to identify the diffusion of a new relationship between State and Civil Society. We propose to demonstrate that the public non-state-owned sector is an experiment to support one social project, that wants to maintain the capitalist process development, from a new concept of Civil Society, and, therefore, from other intervention of social area. We intend to show evidence that the public non-state-owned sector defends it s necessity for the Civil Society to take out the rights conquered by social movement. To be a collaborator in the insertion of this social project by the active involvement of people who bet on democratic potential of social foundations and Non-State-Owned Organizations. This research pretends to get the attention of the public non-stated-owned sector, which is a representation of common people who want to transform the society, split in class, into one harmonic and integrated society that works to commons objectives. We try to present the objectives of Director Plan of State Machine Reform, with regard to the public non-state-owned sector, are related to third way presuppose, cause. Both want to broadcast a new relationship between State and Civil Society, with the Civil Society ceasing to fight for your benefits and rights, and to go work in a cooperating regime with State, ensuring the domination and the class exploration.

Impact of Empowerment and Autonomy on the Nursing Director's Intent to Stay

Bergquist, Tiffany 01 January 2018 (has links)
Retention of nursing directors is important to the viability and success of the healthcare industry because they have a large impact on nursing job satisfaction, overall retention of nurses in an institution, productivity, and patient outcomes. Factors that retain nurse directors, such as autonomy and empowerment, appear to be important to job satisfaction, but there is little in the current research to corroborate these findings. The purpose of this quantitative study was to determine what factors impact nursing directors' intent to stay in their current role and what effect role autonomy and empowerment have on their intent to stay as compared to traditional job satisfiers. Kanter's empowerment theory was used to evaluate the key factors that influence job satisfaction and retention, namely, empowerment and autonomy. The key variables were measured with Attitude toward Professional Autonomy Scale for Nurses, Conditions for Work Effectiveness Questionnaire-II, Intention to Stay Scale, and Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire. Nursing directors were recruited American Organization of Nurse Executives and LinkedIn. Seventy-six participants answered 4 survey tools on the key. Data were analyzed using Pearson's r, multiple and logistic regression. Results revealed that empowerment had a significant relationship to nursing directors' intent to stay and that traditional job satisfiers were significantly related to predicting intent to stay. The results could affect positive social change because increasing job satisfaction of nursing directors would lead to their desire to remain in their position and would stabilize overall retention of nurses, productivity, and patient outcomes. Future research is needed to devise, and test interventions designed to enhance empowerment and positively affect intent to stay.

The Praxis of Theatre Directing: An Investigation of the Relationship Between Directorial Paradigms and Radical Group Theatre in Australia Since 1975

Foster, Michael E., n/a January 2004 (has links)
The thesis investigates the field of Theatre practice variously referred to as alternative, non-mainstream, avant-garde, community or fringe theatre. I have suggested the term 'Radical Group Theatre' - a term which, I believe, best encompasses the sector formerly represented by this diverse body of theatre practice. I focus on the relationship between theoretical and practical paradigms, and debates surrounding them; theatre making processes; and directorial practice in a theatre form which has emerged as a distinctive set of characteristics, ideological frameworks and practices in the Australian context. The work is strongly informed by the perspectives and practices of a range of major contributors to the field. It notes the inadequacy of conventional analytics and established understandings of the theory/practice nexus for exploring Radical Group Theatre, and establishes an alternate set of frameworks. These enable fresh engagement with the development and current praxis of an important theatre form which has not previously been considered as a whole field yet has taken particularly exciting directions in Australia over the past three decades. Methodology and objectives: An important aspect of the study is the way in which the research methodology parallels the practice under investigation. That is, the practice of Radical Group Theatre in Australia mirrors the 'Reflective Reflexive Loop' which I propose as the pre-eminent principle of the praxis. The methodology has developed out of my Masters degree research which was an interrogation of my directorial practice in the field of Youth/Community theatre, 1976-1989. I was further interested to analyse the field of group theatre to determine whether common key principles identified as characteristics of the form in the earlier study constituted the basis for an analytical model of Radical Group Theatre praxis. The investigation for this thesis began with a project designed to synthesise the essential qualities of directorial practice: the qualities of the good director, the major influences on practice, and the expectations participants have regarding the function of the director. The preliminary findings formed the basis for a comparative study which sought answers to the key questions as they apply to a pre-professional radical theatre setting - university student theatre. This project gave birth to the focus questions of the study which established the theoretical and methodological frames for the thesis.
