<p>The aim of this two years master thesis in Library and information science is to study the foundation <em>Centrum för lättläst</em> and its work regarding information use with focus on information structures and information needs. The aim is also to examine how <em>Centrum för lättläst</em> cooperate with Swedish libraries to promote the work concerning people with reading disabilities. This master thesis applies a domain analytic theory and method inspired by Birger Hjørland. The domain analysis is confined to examine ontology, epistemology, sociology, empirical user studies, document and genre studies and studies of structures and institutions in scientific communication. The main source material consists of information from the homepage of <em>Centrum för lättläst</em>. The result of the domain analysis describes the ontology which implies to produce easy-to-read texts. The epistemology constitutes of regulations from the Swedish government regarding the work with easy-to-read literacy. The sociology represents several organizations and authorities connected to easy-to-read literacy. The domain analysis has also identified <em>Centrum för lättläst’s</em> target groups and their information needs which are varying. The study present numerous of strategies composed by <em>Centrum för lättläst</em> to satisfy the information needs of the target groups. Furthermore; the domain analysis has distinguished the information resources <em>Centrum för lättläst</em> use to distribute and make information accessible which are represented by documents within the domain. The result also shows that <em>Centrum för lättläst’s</em> work with information use includes important operators in the domain which contributes to endorse the information needs of the targets groups. Finally the domain analysis has examined the collaboration between <em>Centrum för lättläst</em> and libraries in Sweden, where the result illustrate procedures made by <em>Centrum för lättläst </em>in order to assist libraries in their work with easy-to-read literacy and the target groups.</p>

The purpose of this study was to analyze, investigate and compare the eventual differences within the aspects of the ideational metafunction, of the systemic functional linguistics, between two fictional novels and their respective easy-Swedish versions, looking at chosen variables within the theory. The study also investigates how the eventual differences, effects the potential reader by setting the results of the analysis against contemporary research in reading comprehension. The method of use is transitvity analysis based within the ideational metafunction and its variables: processes, participants, circumstances, grammatical metaphors and register. The material that has been analyzed is Sodomsäpplet (Martin, 2016) and Mina drömmars stad (Fogelström, 2009) and their respective easy-Swedish versions. The result of the analysis proved that a lot of the material processes had been replaced by relational processes. This contributed to making the easy-Swedish versions more concrete but also static and impersonal, which effected the voice of the author as well as the register and the perspective of telling. The result is discussed with a reading comprehension perspective telling that the easy-Swedish versions not in every way is particularly easy as they displace the register and the authors voice. They also limit the abilities of interpretation for a potential reader.

Die zuvor von den Vereinten Nationen verabschiedete und schließlich im März 2009 in Deutschland ratifizierte UN-Behindertenrechtskonvention, kurz UN-BRK, fokussiert sich auf die Wahrung der Gleichberechtigung und Sicherung einer inklusiven Gesellschaft. (UN-BRK 2016: 2) Zu den allgemeinen Grundsätzen gehören die Gewährleistung der individuellen Autonomie bzw. Selbstständigkeit, die Nichtdiskriminierung, Chancengleichheit sowie Zugänglichkeit und damit verbunden die gemeinsame Teilhabe in der Gesellschaft. So verpflichten sich die Vertragsstaaten „neue Technologien, die für Menschen mit Behinderungen geeignet sind, einschließlich Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien“ zu entwickeln und bereitzustellen. (vgl. ebd.: 10) Infolgedessen sollen die Mitglieder laut Artikel 30, die Teilhabe an Kultur, Sport und Freizeitaktivitäten garantieren, sodass Menschen mit kognitiven Beeinträchtigungen „Zugang zu kulturellem Material in zugänglichen Formaten haben“ sowie Zugang zu Orten kultureller Darbietungen oder Dienstleistungen, wie Theatern, Museen, Kinos, Bibliotheken und Tourismusdiensten, sowie, so weit möglich, zu Denkmälern und Stätten von nationaler kultureller Bedeutung. (ebd.: 26) So kann zunächst eine kurze Bilanz gezogen werden, dass beispielsweise die Museen als außerschulische Bildungs- und Lernorte sowie als Träger des Natur- und Kulturerbes (Czech 2014: 49) bereits geeignete Maßnahmen getroffen haben, um Forderungen wie dieser gerecht werden zu können. Nichtsdestotrotz zählt die Barrierefreiheit noch nicht zum allgemeinen Standard deutscher Museen. (Bacher-Götterfried u. a. 2014: 175) Wie aber haben eben solche kulturellen Einrichtungen ihre Dienstleistungen dahingehend angepasst und standardisiert, um Menschen mit kognitiven und physischen Beeinträchtigungen Barrierefreiheit anzubieten? Und wo liegen weitere Potenziale für die Realisierung solcher Konzepte? Um sich dieser Frage im konkreten Kontext der Museumswelt und ihrer Vermittlung anzunähern, bereitet die vorliegende Arbeit zunächst Begriffsdefinitionen auf und schafft einen Überblick über barrierefreie Formate in Hinblick auf Kommunikation und Sprache. Neben der Vergegenwärtigung von leichtverständlicher Kommunikation und deren Teilbereiche, darf auch eine Fehlerbetrachtung in der Konzeption von Museen nicht fehlen. Der Fokus der Arbeit liegt im Besonderen auf dem anschließenden praktischen Teil der Arbeit. Mit Hilfe der eingekürzten theoretischen Ausgangsbetrachtung soll hier ein Beispiel einer leichtverständlichen Bildbeschreibung entworfen werden. Die Grundlage dafür bildet eine wissenschaftliche Arbeit zum Gemälde „Der Krieg“ von Otto Dix, die unter den Gesichtspunkten der Kriterien für verständnisorientierte Sprache in jenes Format übertragen wird. Die Dokumentation betrachtet dabei die stetige Reflexion der eigenen Textproduktion in Zusammenarbeit und unter der Kontrolle von Verso. Ziel dieses Prozesses ist, nicht nur ein leichtverständliches Kommunikationsformat zu finden, sondern darauf aufbauend einen Audioguide bzw. eine Videopräsentation des behandelten Werks zu kreieren, welches den formalen und sprachlichen Anforderungen eines Museums gewachsen sein könnte, ohne dabei Gesellschaftsgruppen auszuschließen. Es muss bereits im Vorfeld erwähnt werden, dass die Erprobung des Gelingens einer solchen Bildbeschreibung hier deutlich unausgereift und mutmaßlich behandelt werden kann, da es im Zuge der aktuellen Situation wenig bis kaum Möglichkeiten gab, direkt vor Ort in den Museen mit der Zielgruppe in Kontakt zu treten. Bereits realisierte Projekte, die im Rahmen der barrierefreien Kommunikation in kulturellen Institutionen abgeschlossen wurden, schließen die Arbeit ab und sollen darüber hinaus einen Ausblick auf weitere Realisierungen und Ideen im Zuge der Teilhabe für Menschen mit kognitiven Beeinträchtigungen darstellen.:Abkürzungsverzeichnis III 1. This thesis is focused on a design and an implementation of a power consumption computation for a passenger vessel using the industrial automation system Siemens Simatic S7-200 and the touch panel Weintek Easy View MT8150X. A part of the thesis represents a theoretical summary of features and parametres of the programmable logic controllers (PLC) and a way how they are programmed. The work includes a description of a computational algorithm, a block diagram of interconnections and a visualization software for testing. A greater part of this publication is devoted to a detailed decription of a program in the PLC and its visualization, especially the power consumption computation, a distance, an average speed and a wind speed and a direction. At the end, the thesis shows a procedure for an implementation and a measurement on the passenger ships at the Brno dam, including an evaluation of downloaded data.

The subject of thesis is the proposal of a new community center, which will be in addition to the larger socio-cultural hall Facilities also include a city district and all necessary facilities. It appears appropriate to share some space, especially for the two main representative feature, or adding additional functions to the new center has become a real focus of civic, social and community activities. Integral part Solutions will finish outdoor spaces, which would functionally replace the missing central square. This thesis explores a novel’s potential transformations when adapted into the easy-reader format. In early 2021, two distinct easy-reader adaptations of George Orwell’s 1984 were published, accompanied by a new translation of the original full-length version. This analysis primarily seeks to study whether the theme of surveillance undergoes alteration in the easy- reader adaptations, potentially becoming stricter or facilitating a more nuanced interpretation. A notable difference in length among the three versions was observed; when compared as audiobooks at a consistent speed (words per minute), their durations are as follows: the original text: 10 hours and 7 minutes, adapted text 1 by Book Publisher Hedvig: 2 hours and 9 minutes, and adapted text 2 by Vilja Publisher: 33 minutes. Employing comparative close reading and drawing on narratological theory, this study is inspired by the distinctions between round and flat characters, as discussed by E.M. Forster, Maria Nikolajeva, and Mieke Bal. Regarding the theme of surveillance, the thesis concludes that the adaptations do not exhibit as drastic changes as one might anticipate. Analysis of the characters’ transformations in response to surveillance reveals that their portrayal becomes harsher and more rugged in the easy-reader versions compared to the original text. Nevertheless, the shortest adapted text maintains the closest resemblance to the original.

How do we design for a local community while respecting heritage and touching their hearts? We know through our minds and we understand through our hearts. Consciousness touches minds and experience touches hearts. Since phenomenology is the study of both consciousness and experience, this phenomenological architectural thesis is designed to touch both minds and hearts. Instead of replacement, we need embracement in order to root one's social identity. Only then we will elevate cultural heritage in any context, for example African. This thesis includes a case study of light followed by a 'pataphysical design proposal for Tapestry: a new library at Mzuzu University in Malawi. The library proposal is introduced through poems and visual information in the following sets: metaphysical, physical, 'pataphysical. Through the inquiry in haiku writing style, this poetry collection evaluates corners, windows, light, intensity, form. Not only we propose an exciting and unique library design, but we also discover that dignity is the key to unlocking the spirit of light in any project, regardless of its form. / Master of Architecture
