How do we design for a local community while respecting heritage and touching their hearts? We know through our minds and we understand through our hearts. Consciousness touches minds and experience touches hearts. Since phenomenology is the study of both consciousness and experience, this phenomenological architectural thesis is designed to touch both minds and hearts. Instead of replacement, we need embracement in order to root one's social identity. Only then we will elevate cultural heritage in any context, for example African. This thesis includes a case study of light followed by a 'pataphysical design proposal for Tapestry: a new library at Mzuzu University in Malawi. The library proposal is introduced through poems and visual information in the following sets: metaphysical, physical, 'pataphysical. Through the inquiry in haiku writing style, this poetry collection evaluates corners, windows, light, intensity, form. Not only we propose an exciting and unique library design, but we also discover that dignity is the key to unlocking the spirit of light in any project, regardless of its form. / Master of Architecture

Thompson legou muito às áreas da física e da radiologia, porém, com a chegada do novo século, passou a se dedicar intensamente à educação técnica de seus compatriotas ingleses. Tal dedicação, aliada a preocupações políticas e sociais da época, foi crucial para a publicação do seu texto didático mais polêmico: o Calculus Made Easy (1910). A polêmica estava atrelada às discussões sobre o rigor e a intuição no ensino de matemática, visto que o didático tratava dos conceitos fundamentais do Cálculo de maneira intuitiva e com aplicações. Abstract The aim of this study is to investigate how a picture book for children is transformed into an easy-to-read version for children who have just started reading. I examine two versions of Emil of Lönneberga. One of the books is the orginal picture book of Emil in Lönneberga and was written by Astrid Lindgren (1963), while the other is an easy-toreadversion of the book, as adapted by the author Helena Renvall (1977). I have conducted a comparative study as a text and picture analysis of the material, with the focus on the adaptation of the original story. The adaptation in this case is a revision intended to make the story easier to read and more accessible to today’s children. The most important finding of the study is that easily read information is not just a matter of simplifying the text; the form of both text and pictures is adapted. The text is characterized by simpler words and shorter sentences. The pictorial material has been increased and the originally black and white pictures have been given added red colour. Otherwise, most of the layout has been changed for several reasons, but generally speaking so that the relation between text and pictures on each spread will function inthe most easy-to-read way possible.

The goal in my bachelor thesis has been to create a multifunctional furniture, a product in which the form has followed the function to allow the user variation for the body and practical functions. The purpose of this project has been to encourage reduction of unnecessary furniture within compact living spaces and instead offer better solutions to practical multifunctional furniture. In my research phase for this project I studied different forms of multifunctional furniture on the market as well as carried out different observational studies of student living and how students generally use their furniture. The first being various visits to different student rums and apartments. The other being a closer study at Malmstens school in which I allowed students to create their own space and interact with the furniture to study how the students used the furniture and how the students sat in the furniture. A basic, yet crucial, survey about multifunctional furniture was sent out to gather information on what people do at home and what type of furniture people prefer if they were to live in a compact space. The research gathered led to the next phase of the project in which many different sketching techniques, both 2d and 3d, resulted in a multifunctional furniture which offers variation within sitting and practical use. As a result of the analysis a furniture prototype will be built and shown at Malmstens Spring Exhibition and Vallastaden Living and House Society Exhibit in September 2017. / I detta examensarbete har målet varit att skapa en multifunktionell möbel, en produkt där form följer funktion som erbjuder variation både för kroppen och för praktiska funktioner. Syftet med att uppnå detta mål är att uppmuntra till minimering av antalet möbler på en begränsad yta och därmed bidra till minskad konsumtion och erbjuda fler praktiska lösningar i hemmet. Jag vill upplysa om och uppmuntra tanken att möbler kan passa människans flexibla behov. En insamlingsetapp av information från studiebesök, deltagande observationer, en enkät och en omvärldsanalys har lett till en god uppfattning om hur människor kan möblera i framtiden. Under dessa observationsstudier besöktes olika former av studentboende med fokus på att observera förhållande mellan hur möbeln användes och placeras i rummet. I den andra studien som ägde rum på Malmstensskolan skapades ett påhittat rum som fick inredas av olika studenter för att se vilka funktioner möbeln användes till och hur studenten rörde sig i sina möbler. Undersökningen har lett till en omfattande skissprocess med olika skissmetoder. Resultatet är en multifunktionell möbel som ger variation för både sittande och praktiskt användning. Utifrån detta examensarbete tillverkas en prototyp som ska ställas ut vid Malmstens Vårutställning 2017 och vid Vallastaden Bo- och Samhällsexpo 2017.

El presente estudio plantea el paradigma en el que la orientación de la marca es en su totalidad el consumidor, sus emociones y deseos. Enfocándonos en el caso particular de la empresa de servicio Easy Taxi se demuestra, por medio del análisis de los comentarios negativos publicados en su página de Facebook, la apropiación de los mismos como oportunidades de mejora para la empresa. De esta manera se habla de la revalorización de la opinión del consumidor como un factor principal e influyente para cambios del servicio, la toma de decisiones y de estrategias de marketing. Esta apropiación se determina al definir los procesos internos de Easy Taxi, a través de entrevistas a los encargados de las áreas involucradas, la observación de la información expuesta en el fan page de la marca y la percepción del usuario por medio de encuestas. Así, se encuentra la relación entre los datos recogidos que afirma la importancia que hoy en día se le otorga a la queja dentro de las empresas por su exposición en los nuevos canales de comunicación. / Trabajo de investigación

Denna uppsats undersöker relationen mellan lättlästa skönlitterära böcker och originalutgåvor genom en närstudie av John Ajvide Lindqvists Låt den rätte komma in och den lättlästa versionen Vampyren i Blackeberg. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka vad som skiljer sig i handlingen och vilka litterära aspekter som försvinner i en bearbetad lättläst text. Analysen fokuserar därför på olika aspekter av litterära föreställningsvärldar för att få svar på vad som förhåller sig annorlunda eller likartat. De forskningsfrågor som besvaras är: På vilket sätt skiljer sig informationen i John Ajvide Lindqvists lättlästa verk Vampyren i Blackeberg från originalutgåvan Låt den rätte komma in? Och vilken typ av information försvinner i det lättlästa verket i jämförelse med originalutgåvan? Resultatet visar att det förekommer markanta skillnader gällande typ och omfattning i den lättlästa bearbetningen. Stoff som försvunnit är bland annat miljöbeskrivningar, fokalisation och nedskärningar i dialoger för att göra dessa korta och koncisa med så få utläggningar som möjligt. Därtill visar diskussionen att lättläst litteratur inte bör användas som läromedel, då denna texttyp inte kan svara på Skolverkets kriterier när det kommer till svenskämnet. Lättläst litteratur kan aldrig ersätta originalutgåvor, eftersom bearbetningar reducerar bort vital information som gör att läsarens förståelse för handlingen försämras. / This essay analyzes the relationship between easy-to-read fiction and the original edition through a close study of John Ajvide Lindqvist’s Låt den rätte komma in and the easy-to-read version Vampyren i Blackeberg. The purpose of this essay is to examine what differs in the plot and which literary aspects that disappear in an edited easy-to-read text. The analysis therefore focuses on different aspects of literary imaginary worlds to get answers for what looks different or similar. The research questions this study aims to answer are: In what way does the information in John Ajvide Lindqvist’s easy-to-read version Vampyren i Blackeberg differ from the original edition Låt den rätte komma in? And what kind of information disappears in the easy-to-read version compared to the original version? The results show that there are significant differences in the type and to what extent of the easy-to-read version. Things that have disappeared are environmental descriptions, focalisation and information in dialogues to make these short and concise, with as few explanations as possible. The discussion shows that easy-to-read literature should not be used as a teaching aid, as this type of text cannot meet the curriculum criteria when it comes to the Swedish subject. Easy-to-read literature can never replace original editions, as the easy-to-read texts reduce vital information that weaken the reader's understanding of the plot.

Los canales digitales, como la banca móvil, tuvieron un incremento en su uso durante los últimos años. Esto produjo que las empresas bancarias tengan la necesidad de mejorar su competitividad y hacer prevalecer la continuidad de sus usuarios. En este sentido, la presente investigación busca comprobar que la variable de percepción de uso es un antecedente de la intención de continuidad de uso, y esta, de la satisfacción del usuario. Para ello, se realizó una encuesta online a 201 personas y los resultados fueron analizados gracias a la herramienta estadística SmartPLS que validó el modelo de medición reflexiva y el modelo estructural de la investigación. Los resultados permiten comprobar que la intención de continuidad de uso de los servicios de banca móvil está determinada por la percepción de uso, la cual abarca las siguientes dimensiones: actitud del usuario, compatibilidad, movilidad del servicio, facilidad de uso, y utilidad de uso percibida; asimismo, se concluye que la satisfacción es precedente de la intención de continuidad de uso. La investigación aporta información al sector de banca retail que podría permitirles brindar soluciones innovadoras a sus usuarios, satisfacer sus expectativas, fomentar un boca a boca positivo, y asegurar la supervivencia y éxito a largo plazo del canal digital. / Digital channels, such as mobile banking, have seen an increase in their use in recent years. This produced that banking companies have the need to improve their competitiveness and make the continuity of their users prevail. In this sense, the present research seeks to verify that the variable of perception of use is antecedent to the intention of continuity of use, and this, to user satisfaction. To do this, an online survey was conducted with 201 people and the results were analyzed thanks to the SmartPLS statistical tool that validated the reflective measurement model and the structural model of the research. The results allow us to verify that the intention to continue the use of mobile banking services is determined by the perception of use, which encompasses the following dimensions: user attitude, compatibility, service mobility, ease of use, and usefulness of use. perceived; It is also concluded that satisfaction is precedent of the intention to continue use. The research provides information to the retail banking sector to frequently adopt market studies focused on mobile banking users, to provide them with innovative solutions, meet their expectations, promote positive word of mouth, and ensure the survival and long-term success of the digital channel. / Tesis / PE

Das Ziel des vorliegenden Projektes war es, eine sortenreine und gewichtsoptimierte Betonbauweise unter Einsatz mineralischer und lastpfadgerechter Faserverbundbewehrungen zur vorwettbewerblichen Anwendung weiterzuentwickeln, um damit neue Geschäftsfelder für KMU im Bereich des Bauwesens zu eröffnen sowie längerfristig den Technologiestandort Baden-Württemberg zu stärken. Dabei knüpft das Projekt nahtlos an die Arbeiten aus dem SPP 1542 – Leicht bauen mit Beton – an. Der vorliegende Kurzbericht fasst die Forschungsergebnisse zusammen. The outcome of the project could open new business opportunities for small- and mid-size enterprises in the construction sector and, in the longer term, strengthen Baden-Württemberg as a technology hub. The project seamlessly ties in with the previous work from SPP 1542, the results of which are summarised in this short report.
