A Educação a Distância foi definida por Moore e Kearsley (2012) como ensino e aprendizado planejado no qual o ensino comumente ocorre em um local diferente do aprendizado, exigindo comunicação por meio de tecnologias, bem como organização institucional diferenciada. No entanto, a busca por um modelo de educação que atendesse a tantas necessidades, passou por um longo período de pesquisas e esforços até culminar no modelo de educação a distância dos dias de hoje: a educação a distância mediada por tecnologias. Esta modalidade depende da estruturação de sistemas de EAD formados por todos os processos que operam quando ocorre o ensino e o aprendizado a distância, o que inclui o aprendizado, o ensino, a comunicação, a criação de programas e cursos, e o gerenciamento. E é neste contexto que surge a problemática deste estudo, cuja primeira preocupação está centrada nos novos elementos que surgem na gestão de uma IES com a implantação da educação a distância mediada por tecnologias. Ao mesmo tempo em que a educação a distância se desenvolve, aumenta a concorrência no setor da educação superior, o que pressiona para uma gestão profissionalizada, pautada na avaliação do desempenho organizacional e na busca por orientação estratégica. A problemática deste estudo está centrada na identificação de categorias de informações, inerentes à gestão da Educação a Distância, que do ponto de vista do docente, deveriam ser consideradas na construção de Balanced Scorecards adaptados para a gestão do desempenho organizacional de Instituições de Ensino Superior Privadas, credenciadas para as modalidades de ensino presencial e a distância. A metodologia adotada para este estudo foi o estudo de caso, desenvolvido em uma Instituição de Ensino Superior Privada credenciada para a educação superior presencial e a distância. A análise dos resultados do estudo de caso apresentou como resultados, quatro categorias de informações, totalizando 32 itens, para orientar a construção e adaptação de Balanced Scorecards para IES credenciadas para as modalidades de educação presencial e a distância: Categoria 1 - Planejamento e Elaboração de Recursos Didáticos; Categoria 2 - Acompanhamento Discente; Categoria 3 - Motivação e Habilidades Docentes; Categoria 4 - Efetividade do Sistema de EAD. / Distance Education was defined by Moore and Kearsley (2012) as teaching and planned learning in witch teaching normally occurs in different place than learning, requiring communication through technology, as well as, special institutional organization. However, the search for an educational model that suited such needs, has passes through a long period of researchs and efforts to become the distance education of today: distance education mediated by technology. This modality of education depends on the structuring of Distance Education Systems that consists of all the component processes that operate when teaching and learning at a distance occurs. It includes learning, teaching, communication, design, and management. And it is in this context that this research emerges, focusing on the new elements found on the management of Higher Education Institutions after assuming technology mediated education programs. As distance education evolves, competition increases in the Higher Education sector, what leads to a professionalized management need, based on organizational performance evaluation and on the search for strategic orientation. This research is centered on the identification of information categories, from distance education management, that from the teachers point of view, should be considered for the development and adaptation of Balanced Scorecards for private Higher Education Institutions, that offers regular and distance education programs. This study used a case study as method. The analysis of the case study results culminated in four information categories to guide the development and adaptation of Balanced Scorecards for private Higher Education Institutions, that offers regular and distance education programs: Category 1: Planning and Development of Didactic Resources; Category 2: Student Progress Monitoring; Category 3: Teachers Motivation and Skills; Category 4: Distance Education System Effectiveness.

Desenvolvimento profissional e inovação curricular na licenciatura em ciências da UFPR litoral. / Professional development and curriculum innovation in the course of initial training of Science teachers in UFPR Litoral.

Apresenta-se e analisa-se o desenvolvimento da inovação curricular no curso de Licenciatura em Ciências (LC) da UFPR Litoral. É um Estudo de Caso que descreve o contexto da fundação do curso e as práticas realizadas pelos docentes e licenciandos durante as seis primeiras coordenações, reconstruídas a partir de entrevistas semiestruturadas, análises documentais e vivências do autor desta tese. O objetivo foi descrever e analisar o desenvolvimento profissional dos sujeitos envolvidos no curso de LC no contexto dos processos de fundação, concepção e implantação do curso. Também se descrevem os processos de criação, manutenção, rupturas e antagonismos, com suas respectivas tensões, dos projetos Pedagógico do Curso (PPC) e do Político-Pedagógico (PPP) da instituição. Interpreta-se o desenvolvimento grupal dos docentes envolvidos usando alguns conceitos psicanalíticos e destacam-se os desenvolvimentos profissionais dos sujeitos do curso focalizando sua adesão à proposta educacional, seu saber específico, seus saberes experienciais, sua gestão do ensino, suas atividades grupais e sua participação na formação contínua. Os resultados apontam que os docentes do curso inicialmente tinham uma competência muito limitada para desenvolver a inovação curricular proposta pelo diretor-fundador, porém a maioria conseguiu construir um conjunto de saberes profissionais, que permitiram conseguir o reconhecimento oficial da proposta e, até o momento, sua sustentação, resistindo às pressões externas e internas que visavam esvaziá-la, tornando-a semelhante à formação inicial tradicional vigente na UFPR matriz. Este estudo permitiu também delinear dificuldades e falhas na maneira de conduzir a formação dos licenciandos com base principalmente no ensino por projetos e na interdisciplinaridade. Dessa forma consideramos que o estudo contribuiu para as pesquisas na área de formação de professores destacando o papel dos saberes específicos, os aspectos da formação para o desenvolvimento profissional e as dificuldades e os desgastes na promoção e sustentação de mudanças significativas e ousadas nos licenciandos dentro de uma universidade bastante tradicional. / It presents and analyzes the development of curriculum innovation course of initial training of Science teachers (Licenciatura em Ciências - LC) in UFPR Litoral. It is a case study describing the course of the foundation of the context and the practices carried out by teachers and student teachers during the first six coordinators, reconstructed from semi-structured interviews, document analysis and experiences of the author of this thesis. The objective was to describe and analyze the professional development of those involved in the LC of course in the context of the foundation processes, design and implementation of the course. Also described the processes of creation, maintenance, ruptures and antagonisms, with their tensions, of the projects Pedagogical Course (Projeto Pedagógico do Curso - PPC) and the Political and Pedagogical (Projeto Político-Pedagógico - PPP) of the institution. The group development of the involved teachers is interpreted using some psychoanalytic concepts and stand out profissionalis developments of the subjects of the course focusing its accession to the educational proposal, their specific knowledge, their experiential knowledge, management of teaching, their group activities and participation continuing training. The results show that the course teachers initially had very limited competence to develop curriculum innovation proposed by founding director (diretor-fundador), but most managed to build a set of professional knowledge, which allowed achieve official recognition of the proposal and, to date, their support, resisting external and internal pressures aimed empty it, making it similar to traditional current initial training at UFPR matrix. This study also allowed outlining difficulties and failures in the way of conducting the training of undergraduates (the students in the course of LC) based primarily on education by projects and interdisciplinarity. Thus we believe that the study contributed to research in teacher training area highlighting the role of specific knowledge, aspects of training for professional development and the difficulties and wear in promoting and sustaining of significant changes and bold in student teachers within a very traditional university.

The thesis is focused on the possibilities in the management of the intergenerational programmes. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the issue of intergenerational learning from the point of view of the management of educational institutions and to create a proposal of methodology for intergenerational programs management. The first part discusses the management in general, educational management and the characterization and classification of educational institutions and the scope of non-profit organizations. It also deals with lifelong learning and defines intergenerational learning as one of its forms. It deals with the categorization of intergenerational learning and the definition of its linkage in formal, non-formal and informal learning. The work defines the concept of age management, describes its implementation in practice and focuses on the topic of intergenerational programs, their specification, categorization and definition of their benefits and risks. 教育部目前已要求所有國小自三年級全面實施英語教學,但有些學校特別是位於市區的學校卻自學生一年級起就開始實施英語教學。然而,即使有許多的學生從小學一年級就已經開始在學校裡學英語,家長卻認為學生在學校裡所學的並不足夠。因此,有許多學生在放學之後,仍然必需到私人的語言學習機構也就是所謂的補習班去學習英語。這些讓孩子到補習班去上英語課的家長,都希望他們的孩子在上國中之前能夠達到一定的英語程度。雖然目前已經有許多研究探討兒童的英語學習,但是針對補習班經營之成功關鍵因素探索所做的研究卻是極為有限。 本研究的目的在於兩個不同的美語補習班成功的特質。他們分別是佳音和吉的堡美語補習班。本研究問卷的對象為來自於佳音和吉的堡美語補習班經營者、美語教師和國小學童。資料收集的時間自2008年1月起至2008年8月止。本研究收集資料的方式是以研究對象為主所設計的三種不同的問卷和部份補習班班主任的訪談。 研究結果顯示學童、教師,以及補習班業者對於國小學童在補習班學習英語均抱持正面的看法。就英語學習而言,補習班通常提供小班教學、較長的上課時間讓學生學習英語、依學生英語能力等級進行分班、聘請外籍教師、優良的語言教學設備,並且提供學生相關的英語補充教材。此外,大多數的學童以及家長都認為在補習班學習英語能夠改善學童英語聽、說、讀、寫的能力。本研究也以成功的補習班目前所擁有的優勢為基礎,討論英語連鎖補習班成功的因素和未來持續成長的建議。 / The Ministry of Education has required all elementary schools in Taiwan to offer English lessons beginning from their third grade, and there are schools, especially those in urban areas, teaching English from first grade. Even though many young students are taking English lessons in the first grade, their parents still think what they are learning in school is not enough. They will need to study English after school in a private language institute, known as “English Bushiban” or “English chain educational institutions.” These parents hope that their children could attain a certain level of English proficiency before entering into junior high school. Although a large number of research studies regarding children’s English learning are available, very few of them have explored successful attributes for English chain educational institutions. The purpose of the study will be to explore the successful attributes of two different English chain educational institutions. They are Joy and Kid Castle. The questionnaires targeted at administrators, English teachers, and students of English chain educational institutions. Data collection began in January 2008 and ended in August 2008. The instruments used in this study were different versions of questionnaires designed for the three groups of participants and interviewed with some administrators of the two English chain educational institutions. The findings of the current studies indicated that the students, teachers, and administrators of English chain educational institutions seemed to have a positive attitude toward learning English in English chain educational institutions. In terms of advantages of English learning, English chain educational institutions offered students small classes, had a longer period of time for students to study English in contrast to ordinary school, grouped students into classes based on their proficiency levels, hired foreign English teachers, provided better learning equipment, and used effective learning materials for students. Moreover, most of the students reported that learning English in English chain educational institutions have helped students to improve their four language skills−listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Based on those advantages, English chain educational institutions had taught English to young students, the study will unfold the successful attributes to understand how to operate successful businesses for English chain educational institutions globally.

Ikimokyklinio ugdymo ir bendrojo lavinimo mokyklų įstaigose vyksta pedagogų kaita. Geri specialistai išeina į pensiją, atsiranda poreikis priimti naujus asmenys. Dažniausiai į laisvą vietą yra priimami jauni, neseniai mokslus baigę specialistai, turintys mažai patirties. Pradėjus dirbti paaiškėja, kad neretam trūksta įgūdžių, jie nežino kaip perteikti turimas žinias. Tad pedagogų kaita yra problema, kuri reikalauja atitinkamų sprendimo priemonių. Siekiant pagrįsti problemą, naudota mokslinės literatūros analizė, parengtas tyrimo instrumentarijus – anketa, atlikta statistinė duomenų analizė, koreliacinių ryšių analizė. Tyrimo tikslas – ištirti darbuotojų kaitos valdymo ypatumus. Tikslui pasiekti iškeliami šie uždaviniai: 1. Duomenų analizė, naudojant aprašomosios statistikos procentinius dažnius; 2. Remiantis teoriniu modeliu, išanalizuoti gautus duomenis, palyginti ikimokyklinio ugdymo įstaigų ir bendrojo lavinimo mokyklų vadovų nuomonę. 3. Frequently the vacancies are filled with young, just graduated after their studies and having little experience specialists. Not rarely just after start of the job appears that they are missing skills, they don’t know how to transfer their knowledge. Therefore the turnover of staff is a problem, which needs appropriate solutions. In order to substantiate the problem, the analysis of literature sources was performed, the instrument of the research was prepared – poll, statistical data analysis and analysis of correlations was conducted. Purpose of the research – to find out and explore the specificities of staff turnover management. In order to achieve the purpose, the following tasks were set: 1. Darbo tema: socialinių tyrimų įtaka švietimo organizacijų veiklos efektyvumui. Šio darbo tikslas - nustatyti švietimo organizacijose socialinių tyrimų, rezultatų prasmingumą švietimo efektyvumui. Pirmoje darbo dalyje atlikta mokslinės literatūros analizė. Aptarta švietimo įstaigų būklė, situacijos analizė, gvildenamos problemos. Nustatyti švietimo organizacijos veiklos rodikliai, išnagrinėti socialiniai tyrimai atlikti švietimo organizacijose 2003 - 2012 m. Aptartos švietimo įstaigų perspektyvos tobulinant švietimo įstaigų veiklą. Antroje darbo dalyje anketinės apklausos metodu atliktas tyrimas, kurio tikslas - išsiaiškinti socialinių tyrimų įtaką švietimo organizacijų efektyvumui. Respondentai dalyvavę apklausoje padės išsiaiškinti kokie soc. tyrimai vykdomi švietimo organizacijose, kokia jų nauda švietimo efektyvumui. The objective of the thesis is to determine the significance of the results of social investigation to the educational organizations. In the first part of the thesis it is made the analysis of the scientific research. It is discussed the condition of the educational institutions, the analysis of its situation and solving the problems. It is being determined the indicators of the activity for the educational organizations and it is discussed the social investigation which are being performed in the years of 2003 - 2012. Also it is being discussed the perspectives of the activity of educational institutions in order to improve their work. These institutions were established to meet the demands for schooling for the children of Brazilian immigrants, known as dekassegui workers. The investigation revealed the migration process throughout the 20th and 21st centuries, mainly between 1980 and 2009, the period in which occurred the migration process of Nipo-Brazilians to Japan. In order to build the object of study the following goals were pursued: unveiling what led to the establishment of Brazilian educational institutions in Japan; reconstructing the history of the school Escola Alegria de Saber - EAS, understanding its constituent elements; verifying what motivated the Japanese government to draw educational policies which allow flexibility in establishing Brazilian schools, even granting the title of "Miscellaneous school" ; and considering the approval of the reports issued by the National Council of Education, the Ministry of Education in Brazil, validating the educational institutions in Japan This research expands previous studies, in which the Japanese migration to Brazil as cheap labor was investigated. Emphasis was given to the construction of Japanese ethnicity in relation to the surrounding society. The migration developed between these countries was motivated by economic interests, which is defined as a movement marked by departure and return of the same generation and their descendants, in a short period of time. The research examined the migrant´s condition facing adverse situations and social relations which are established and define them as a group. In addition the research concentrated on tracing the group´s similarities in the movements of departure and return, especially regarding the implementation of schools for descendants, which include guidelines and legal requirements from the home country, reinforcing the idea of returning to the country. This study also examined conflicting experiences especially in times of economic crisis when this group is harassed and treated like foreigners or merely as labor. The group has become resilient, tackling the barriers and in reaction use the term gambarê as a symbolic strategy for survival. The research was analyzed in the light of the narrow and inseparable relationship between specific, singular and universal, establishing the mediations between the object of research, within social and historical trends of the dominant social organization, that is, capitalist society. The sources used were obtained in documents, bibliographies and semi-structured interviews, resulting form field work conducted in Japan. The work was completed with the understanding that in Japan, the Nipo Brazilians realize they are different from the Japanese. The opposition between natives and foreigners are build due to social representations which differentiate them. Moreover they perceive themselves as hired labor and the importance in maintaining educational institutions for their descendants, since the Japanese school does not meet everyone´s needs and demands. / Este estudo se propõe a analisar as instituições escolares brasileiras localizadas no Japão e, como recorte específico a Escola Alegria de Saber EAS, criada em 1995. Estas instituições foram constituídas para atender à demanda de escolarização dos descendentes de imigrantes brasileiros, denominados de trabalhadores dekassegui. A investigação evidenciou o movimento migratório ocorrido ao longo do século XX e XXI, sobretudo entre os anos de 1980 e 2009, quando ocorreu o processo de migração dos nipo-brasileiros ao Japão. Na construção desse objeto de estudo foram perseguidos os seguintes objetivos: desvelar o que motivou a implantação de instituições escolares brasileiras, no Japão; a reconstrução da história da Escola Alegria de Saber EAS; a compreensão de seus elementos constitutivos; a verificação do que motivou o governo japonês a traçar políticas educacionais que flexibilizaram a implantação das escolas brasileiras, inclusive, concedendo o título de Miscellaneous school ; e, uma reflexão acerca da homologação de Pareceres emitidos pelo Conselho Nacional de Educação, do Ministério da Educação, no Brasil, validando os estudos realizados em instituições de ensino localizadas no Japão. A pesquisa ampliou o enfoque retomando estudos realizados anteriormente, quando foi investigada a migração de japoneses para o Brasil, para trabalhar como mão de obra barata. A ênfase foi atribuída à construção da etnicidade do grupo de japoneses em relação à sociedade envolvente. O fluxo migratório que se estabeleceu entre estes países, motivados por interesses econômicos, caracterizou um movimento definido como de ida e de retorno de uma mesma geração e seus descentes, em um curto espaço de tempo. A pesquisa examinou a condição do migrante, as situações adversas enfrentadas e as relações sociais que se estabelecem que os definem como grupo. Além de serem traçadas as semelhanças observadas em ambos os movimentos, de ida ou de retorno, principalmente no que se refere à implantação de escolas para seus descendentes, com orientações e exigências legais oriundas do país de origem, reforçando a ideia de retorno ao mesmo. Igualmente foram examinadas as experiências de conflito, sobretudo em momentos de crise econômica, quando são hostilizados e tratados como estrangeiros ou somente como mão de obra. O grupo tornou-se resiliente, enfrentando as barreiras impostas e, de maneira reativa, utilizam o termo gambarê, como estratégia simbólica de sobrevivência. A investigação foi analisada à luz da estreita e indissociável relação entre específico, o singular e o universal, que estabelece as mediações entre o objeto da pesquisa, com o contexto social e as tendências históricas da organização social dominante, ou seja, a sociedade capitalista. As fontes utilizadas foram obtidas por meio de documentos, bibliografias e entrevistas semi-estruturadas, produzidas no trabalho de campo, realizado no Japão. O trabalho foi concluído com a compreensão de que, no Japão, os nipo-brasileiros percebem que são diferentes dos japoneses. A oposição entre nativos e estrangeiros constrói-se sobre signos diferenciais de classe. Compreendem que são mão de obra assalariada e que é imprescindível a manutenção das instituições escolares para os seus descendentes, uma vez que a escola japonesa não atende a todos.

A pesquisa teve como objetivo avaliar o desempenho em sustentabilidade do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Norte e, para atender a esse objetivo, investigou aspectos da política e as ações de sustentabilidade implementadas nos campi, promovendo em seguida a mensuração de seus desempenhos em sustentabilidade. A coleta dos dados se deu por meio do preenchimento de lista de verificação, em questionário respondido pela administração de três dos campi da instituição, além de fonte documental. A abordagem utilizada para análise dos dados foi quali-quantitativa, ocorrendo, em um primeiro momento, a descrição da política de sustentabilidade e as ações verificadas e, num segundo momento, a atribuição de índices de sustentabilidade com base nos indicadores. O conjunto de indicadores utilizado foi o relacionado no Sistema Contábil Gerencial Ambiental – SICOGEA 2ª geração. Ao fim da avaliação realizada, este trabalho aponta um plano de ação com o intuito de influenciar positivamente esse desempenho. O desempenho do critério “Manutenção” foi o mais fraco entre todos, com resultado de 34% na média dos campi, sendo considerado fraco. O destaque positivo foi o desempenho da área de finanças, com índice de 68%, classificado como bom. Constatou-se a preocupação da instituição com a redução do consumo e da produção de resíduo, bem como a preocupação com a sua destinação. Preocupação extensiva à produção de energia fotovoltaica e ao tratamento e reuso de efluentes líquidos. Por outro lado, observou-se que as ações se dão de maneira desarticulada, com uma sinalização recente de progresso no sentido de sistematização dessas ações. Por esse motivo, entre as proposições realizadas no plano de ação, a de maior prioridade seria a implementação de um sistema de gestão ambiental em cada campus. / This work is a case study about the sustainability policy of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Norte (IFRN, in portuguese). The research aimed to evaluate the sustainability performance of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Norte and, to achieve this objective, investigated aspects of the policy and actions of sustainability adopted, promoting next the measurement of sustainability performance. Data collection was accomplished through a checklist in a questionnaire answered by the management of the campuses, as well as a documentary source. The data analysis used was qualitative and quantitative, and at first was proceeded the description of sustainability policy and verified actions, followed by the mensuration of sustainability indices based on indicators. It used the set of indicators contained in Accounting Environmental Management System - SICOGEA 2nd generation. After the evaluating, this work points out an action plan in order to positively influence this performance. The criterion of performance "Maintenance" was considered the weakest one, with a result of 34% in average campuses and is considered weak. The positive highlight was the performance of the finance area, with index of 68%, so classified as a good performance. It was noted the care of the institution to reduce consumption and waste production, as well as concern for their destination. Concern extends to the production of photovoltaic energy and the treatment and reuse of wastewater. On the other hand, it was observed that the actions take place in a disjointed way, with a recent signaling of progress towards a systematization of actions. For this reason, among the proposals made in the action plan, the first priority would be to implement an environmental management system at each campus.

Escola Estadual Bento de Abreu : um estudo das representações sobre um instituição de ensino /

Uma memória gerada em contraposição a outras memórias, que corre ao ritmo do tempo, das pessoas e das gerações. Tendo por finalidade compreender como a sociedade araraquarense construiu representações sobre a Escola Estadual Bento de Abreu, objetivamos investigar como a escola aparece nas representações dos ex-alunos no que diz respeito à concepção de escola de "boa qualidade". O estudo incide sobre o ensino de nível médio ministrado nessa escola na década de 1970, momento da implementação da Lei Federal 5.692/71 que fixou as Diretrizes e Bases para o ensino de 1º e 2º Graus no país impactando profundamente o funcionamento das escolas e a organização didática pedagógica do ensino básico brasileiro, contribuindo para a intensificação do processo de democratização desse ramo de ensino. A partir da implantação desta nova medida, este estabelecimento educacional passou a oferecer somente ensino de 2º Grau, atendendo ao nome de Instituto de Educação Estadual de 2º Grau "Bento de Abreu". Valendo-se da história oral como metodologia para coleta e análise dos dados cotejada com a documentação do Arquivo Permanente dessa escola, entrevistamos esses sujeitos que tiveram parte de sua carreira escolar nesta instituição de ensino. A memória desses entrevistados nos permitiu recuperar e investigar as representações dos sujeitos educacionais sobre essa escola, principalmente no que se refere às questões de qualidade do ensino, a relação escola-sociedade, bem como a cultura produzida por essa escola que se inseriu na formação da cultura da cidade de Araraquara. Com esse resgate busca-se compreender e aprofundar o estudo sobre a história dessa instituição educativa, contribuindo para a compreensão da educação secundária no Estado de São Paulo na década de 1970. / Abstract: Educational institutions, like people, are carriers of memories. A memory generated in contrast to other memories, which flows to the rhythm of time, people and generations. Having the aim to understand how the Araraquarense society builds representations about the State School "Bento de Abreu", we objective to investigate how the school appears in representations of ex-students with respect to conception of school in "good quality". The study focuses on teaching of high school ministered in this school in the 1970's decade, moment of implementation of Federal Law 5.692/71 that fixes Guidelines for teaching 1st and 2nd degrees in the country, impacting profoundly the functioning of schools and the didactical and pedagogical organizations teaching of basic Brazilian education, contributing to the intensification of the democratization process of this branch of education. After the implementation of this new measure, this educational establishment has offered only teaching of 2nd Degree, given the name of State Institute of Education of 2nd Degree "Bento de Abreu". Drawing on oral history as methodology for collecting and analyzing data collated by recording Permanent Archive of this school, we interviewed those subjects that had part of his school career in this educational institution. The memory of these respondents allowed us to recover and investigate the representations of educational subjects about this school, especially with regard to issues of quality of teaching, a school-society relationship, and the culture produced by this school which was included in the training culture of the city of Araraquara. With this rescue we attempt to understand and deepen the study about the history of this educational institution, contributing to the understanding of secondary education in the State of Sao Paulo in the 1970's decade. / Mestre

Sestavení a ověření programu dechových cvičení jako součást podpory duševního zdraví adolescentů ve výchovných zařízeních / Setting and verification of the program of breathing exercises for adolescents as a supporting structure for their mental health in educational institutions

The diploma thesis deals with the effect of breathing and relaxation exercises on the mental health of adolescents in educational institutions as there is a lack of such free time activities. There were 9 participants from the Children's home Žíchovec in the age 1115 years in this research. They took part in a 12-week intervention program called "I breathe therefore I am", that was set according to the specifics of adolescence. The effect of breathing exercises to the human body and mind was monitored by the Biofeedback Shulfried 2000x-pert device, the Profile Of Mood States questionnaire and the "Unfinished Sentences" method. The acquired data were analyzed and statistically validated. The results confirmed positive effect of breathing exercises on reducing the affective states, deepening abdominal breathing and decreasing the pulse frequency. The intervention program was reccomanded as a part of the free time activities of adolescents in educational institutions.
