Será traçado o panorama histórico-literário em que a obra foi composta, tanto o europeu quanto o brasileiro, assim como revelados alguns dados biográficos do autor, destacando a importância do mesmo para a literatura brasileira então nascente. Em relação ao conteúdo da referida silva, será debatido o topos literário das “ilhas encantadas”, apresentando um cotejo com a maneira como este foi abordado por Camões e pelos frades Manuel de Santa Maria Itaparica e José de Santa Rita Durão, assim como apontamentos sobre a influência que todos esses poetas — Botelho de Oliveira inclusive — receberam de Virgílio e de Ovídio. Esperamos com este trabalho não apenas divulgar a obra dum poeta geralmente ofuscado por seus contemporâneos (Gregório de Matos Guerra e Pe. Antônio Vieira), mas também propor um olhar mais atento a um período histórico-literário cuja importância na formação da identidade brasileira é, por vezes, deixada de lado. / This dissertation aims at recognizing the elements that indicate the construction of the image of "Terrestrial Paradise", concomitant with the feeling of nativism in the lyrical poetry of Manuel Botelho de Oliveira (1636-1711), specifically in his silva "À Ilha de Maré". The historical-literary panorama in which the work was composed, both European and Brazilian, will be traced, as well as some biographical data of the author will be revealed, highlighting his importance to the origins of Brazilian literature. In relation to the content of the silva, the literary topos of the "enchanted islands" will be debated, presenting a comparison with the way it was approached by Camões and the friars Manuel de Santa Maria Itaparica and José de Santa Rita Durão, as well as notes on the influence that all these poets - Botelho de Oliveira inclusive - received from Virgil and Ovid. We hope not only to divulge the work of a poet who is often overshadowed by his contemporaries (Gregório de Matos Guerra and Fr. Antônio Vieira), but also to offer a closer look at a historical-literary period which importance in the formation of Brazilian identity is sometimes set aside. / La presente tesis tiene como objetivo reconocer los elementos que indican la construcción de la imagen del “Paraíso terrenal”, concomitante del sentido de nativismo en la lírica de Manuel Botelho de Oliveira (1636-1711), específicamente en su silva “À Ilha de Maré”. Se trazará la escena histórica-literaria en que se hizo el trabajo, ambas europea como brasileña, así como revelado algunos datos personales del autor, resaltando la importancia de ello para la incipiente literatura brasileña. En relación con la silva, se discutirá lo topos literario de las “islas encantadas”, comparando con la forma en que este fue abordado por Camões y los frailes Manuel Santa Maria Itaparica y José de Santa Rita Durão, así como notas sobre la influencia que todos estos poetas — incluido Botelho de Oliveira —recibieron de Virgilio y de Ovidio. The theoretical part of the diploma work generally describes child's family background, relationship between members of the family and character of an incomplete family. The attention is also paid to the specificity of child's creative development and drawing psychological diagnostics methods. The practical part analyses the collection of 56 children{\crq}s drawings with a view to express the most common tendencies in enchantment and adumbrate projections of family members characteristics and family aspects into the enchanted family drawing.

L'esprit des lieux et le mythe de l'origine dans l'oeuvre romanesque et philosophique de Pascal Quignard / The Spirit of Place and the Myth of Origin in the Novels and Philosophical Essays of Pascal Quignard

Enigmatique, poétique, fragmentaire, foisonnante, réitérative, l’œuvre de Pascal Quignard attire par son univers complexe composé de fiction, de vécu personnel, de récits fabuleux, d’érudition, de pensées philosophiques, dans lequel on rencontre des lieux qui constituent des ports d’attache et qui détiennent les secrets du temps. Ces lieux semblent structurer l’œuvre. L’auteur s’intéresse à l’esprit des lieux comme pour mieux souligner les liens invisibles et imaginaires qui se tissent entre l’homme, son territoire et son passé. Etudier l’esprit des lieux et le mythe de l’origine chez Quignard, c’est essayer de comprendre l’évocation récurrente de ce territoire devenu obsédant et sa puissance de représentation dans la création de l’écrivain. Avec le choix du double corpus, romanesque et philosophique, avec le choix d’une méthode de recherche pluridisciplinaire (critique littéraire, anthropologie, imaginaire), notre thèse se construit en trois parties, qui abordent successivement la question de l’attirance des lieux, celle du glissement de l’enchantement à la mélancolie, ainsi que les caractéristiques de l’écriture poétique et mythique de Quignard. Nous trouvons des lieux enchantés qui reflètent la Weltanschauung de l’auteur. Véritables sources de vie, de l’imagination et de la création, ils suscitent la réconciliation entre l’homme et son passé, son territoire et son identité, même si la mélancolie y demeure fondamentale. Les personnages de Quignard sont extrêmement sensibles à tout ce qui est perdu et oublié, à des maisons et lieux abandonnés, à des hommes qui sont présentés comme des enfants d’Eve exilés. Le désir de ré-enraciner, de se ré-ancrer dans le lieu d’autrefois révèle l’attachement mais aussi la défaillance, car l’homme se trouve vite confronté à ce qui est perdu, au vide. L’enchantement reste éphémère, la mélancolie nous ouvre la porte des lieux sombres. Pour mettre en lumière l’esprit des lieux, Pascal Quignard a recours à une écriture riche en réminiscences, en images, en mythes. Son œuvre est le fruit de l’imaginaire, de l’intuition. Les relations complexes entre Fragments, Réminiscences, Mémoire dans son écriture révèlent la profondeur poétique de l’œuvre, tandis que le narrateur suit l’instant, la trace des êtres, les appels lointains, toujours avec son intuition, et ses impressions de poète mélancolique. L’écrivain sert également d’anciens mythes, les transforme et les enrichit comme un moyen efficace pour créer son propre mythe des lieux : mythe du perdu, mythe du retour et mythe de l’origine. / Enigmatic, poetic, fragmentary, abundant, the attraction of Pascal Quignard's work comes from the complex universe of fiction, personal experiences, fabulous stories, extensive documentation and philosophical thoughts, in which some places are homeports, holding the secrets of time. Such places seem to structure the work. The author favors the spirit of places, as if to underline the invisible imaginary links between man, his territory and his past. To study the spirit of places and the origin of myth in the work of Quignard one has to try to understand the recurring evocation, which has become obsessive, of this territory, and his power of creation as writer. With the choice of a double corpus, fiction and philosophy, and a method of interdisciplinary research (literary criticism, anthropology, imagination), our thesis divides into three parts, which will examine in succession the attractiveness of places, then proceed from enchantment to melancholy, and eventually determine the characteristics of the poetic and (the) mythical writing of Quignard. We will find enchanted places that reflect the worldview of the author. They are the true sources of life, imagination and creativity, bringing about reconciliation between man and his past, his territory and his identity, even if melancholy remains fundamental in them. The characters of Quignard are extremely sensitive to all that is lost and forgotten, abandoned homes and places, and to men who are Eve's children in exile. The desire to re-root oneself into the place of the past reveals attachment but also failure, because man is quickly confronted with loss and emptiness. The enchantment remains elusive; melancholy appears constant and opens somber places in his work. To enhance the spirit of place, Quignard makes use of a rich choice of reminiscences, images and myths. His work is at the same time search for, analysis and a quest on man and his place on earth, but it is also a product of imagination and intuition. The complex relations between Fragments, Reminiscences, and Memory in his writing reveal the poetic depth of the work. The narrator also follows moment and instinct, always with the intuition and feelings of a melancholy poet. The writer also uses ancient myths and transforms and enriches them as an effective way to create his own myth of place: myth of (the) loss, myth of (the) return and the myth of (the) origin.

The goal of this thesis is the investigation of the narratives of the originally Indian cycle of tales of the Enchanted Corpse (Sanskrit: Vetālapañcavinśati, Tibetan: ro sgrung, Mongolian: siditu' kegu'r-un u'liger) in their translation and cultural transmission to Tibet and Mongolia. Primarily, this work addresses these tales from a theoretical standpoint based on the writings of French philosopher Gilles Deleuze, whose idea of "nomadology" appears highly suitable for investigating the striking differences of all of the various linguistic mutations. In particular, Deleuze's analysis of language, nomadic space, "becoming" (devenir), the body without organs (corps sans organs), speech and silence, can be very effectively applied to the interpretation of these tales in the new cultural environments of Mongolia and Tibet.

<p>Uppsatsen är en närläsning av Patricia C. Wredes bok <em>Dealing with Dragons </em>och undersöker huruvida boken i fråga är en parodi eller travesti på de klassiska sagorna, t.ex. Törnrosa och Askungen. Jag tar också reda på om det går att läsa boken på olika sätt beroende på hur stor förkunskap man har om de gamla sagorna. Gérard Genette har skrivit boken <em>Palimpsestes: La</em> <em>littérature au second degré</em>, och jag har med hjälp av en svensk översättning använt mig av hans teorier om hypotext - hypertext, parodi, travesti och transformation. Jag tar även hjälp av Jack Zipes och hans bok <em>The Brothers Grimm - From Enchanted Forests to the Modern</em> <em>World. </em>Dessutom används Barbara Walls bok <em>The Narrator's Voice - The Dilemma of</em> <em>Children's fiction </em>för att reda ut begreppet dubbelt tilltal.</p><p>Uppsatsen är indelad i tre delar med tillhörande underrubriker: Inledning, analys och slutdiskussion. Under analysdelen tar jag upp Wredes sätt att använda sig av direkt och indirekt transformation samt om hänvisningarna till bl.a. Grimms sagor är inslag av parodi eller travesti. Metoden jag använder mig av är att visa och analysera utdrag ur boken som är direkt eller indirekt transformerade från sedan länge befintliga sagor eller legender.</p><p>Resultatet av analysen når sitt syfte och svarar på frågeställningen. Slutsatsen är att boken <em>Dealing with Dragons </em>till största delen är en parodi på kända sagor, men att inslagen av travesti är nödvändiga och behövs för den roliga och lite snälla tonen som boken tillhandahåller.</p>

Cette ethnographie est consacrée à l’analyse d’un fragment du parcours de rituels indigènes –toré, praiá et cure chamanique – dans le Nordeste du Brésil. Elle se fonde sur un travail de terrain mené entre 2010 et 2015 chez les indiens Pankararé (État de Bahia) et Pankararu (État du Pernambuco). L’objectif principal consiste à illustrer concrètement le processus régional de convergence rituelle à travers l’étude des transmissions entre ces deux populations. L’hypothèse est que ces transmissions conduisent à un triple peuplement. 1) Le premier est régional et ethnique : l’apprentissage et la performance du rituel du toré permet, pour des populations considérées caboclas et dénigrées pour leur absence de symboles extérieurs de l’indianité, l’acquisition du statut juridique, différenciateur et mélioratif de « population indigène ». 2) Ces enseignements consistent en la transmission de techniques ayant pour but l’établissement de contacts avec des entités invisibles locales, constitutives des actions rituelles. Les Pankararé, en tant que population réceptrice, découvrent à travers ces pratiques un panthéon d’entités locales légitimant la personnalisation de leurs pratiques rituelles, ce qui constitue un deuxième axe de peuplement, un peuplement cosmique. 3) Chez la population émettrice, ces transmissions interethniques de rituels ont pour conséquence une libéralisation des relations avec le monde invisible, ce qui provoque une multiplication considérable de ses habitants. De nouvelles catégories d’entités sont progressivement intégrées, possèdent des masques rituels et sont appelées lors des rituels domestiques ou collectifs. La description de ces trois formes de peuplement permet l’analyse des raisons et conditions des transmissions interethniques de rituels, de leur acceptation, succès, mais aussi de leurs conséquences et des innovations apportées. / This ethnography aims to analyze the journey of fragment of indigenous rituals – toré, praiá and shamanic cure – in Brazil Nordeste. It is based on a fieldwork carried between 2010 and 2015 within the Pankararé (State of Bahia) and the Panakaru (State of Pernambuco) indigenous people. The main objective of this dissertation is to illustrate the regional process of rituals’ convergence by studying the transmission between those two populations. The hypothesis at the core of this work is that these transmissions lead to a triple populating process. 1) The first one is a regional and ethnical process: the learning and performance of the toré rituals allows for population considered as caboclas and denigrated for the absence of exterior symbols of their indianness to obtain the legal status differentiating and ameliorating the situation for “indigenous populations”. (2) Those learnings consist in the transmission of techniques establishing contacts with local invisible entity, constitutive of rituals actions. Pankararé’s, as receptive populations, discover through those practices a pantheon of local entity legitimizing the personalization of their ritual practices. This constitutes a second realm of populating process, a cosmic populating. (3) Within the issuing population, those interethnic transmissions of rituals results in a relations’ liberalization with the invisible world, provoking a significant multiplication of its inhabitant. New categories of entity are progressively integrated, posses rituals mask and are called upon in collective and domestic rituals.The description of these three forms of populating process allows for the analysis of the motives and the condition behind interethnic rituals transmissions, of their acceptations, success, but also outcomes and innovations. / A presente etnografia se dedica à análise de fragmentos do percurso de rituais indígenas – toré, praiá e cura xamânica – no Nordeste do Brazil. Está baseada em trabalho de campo conduzido de 2010 à 2015 entre os índios Pankararé (Estado da Bahia) e Pankararu (Estado do Pernambuco). Seu objetivo principal é ilustrar o processo regional de convergência ritual através do estudo das transmissões entre esses dois grupos. Desenha-se a hipótese de que essas transmissões teriam levado à um povoamento triplo. O primeiro deles é regional e étnico : a aprendizagem do ritual do toré permite que populações consideradas « caboclas », portanto desvalorizadas pela ausência de símbolos exteriores de indianidade, passem a ter um estatuto jurídico de « população indígena ». Esses ensinamentos rituais levam, por sua vez, à transmissão de técnicas que têm por objetivo o contato com entidades invisiveis locais, constitutivas das ações rituais. Os Pankararé, enquanto população receptora, descobrem através dessas práticas um panteão de entidades locais que legitimam a personalização de suas práticas rituais. À essa descoberta está referido o segundo tipo de povoamento, o povoamento cósmico. Já o terceiro modelo de povoamento está vinculado à população emissora. Nela, as transmissões rituais interétnicas têm por consequência a liberalização das relações com o mundo invisível, o que provoca uma multiplicação considerável de seus habitantes. Novas categorias de entidades são progressivamente integradas, possuem suas máscaras e são constantemente chamadas para rituais domésticos e coletivos.A descrição dessas três formas de povoamento permite, portanto, a análise das razões e condições da transmissão de rituais em contextos interétnicos, chamando a atenção para seu sucesso e aceitação mas também para suas consequências e inovações.

Once Upon a Time, Again: Exploring the Function of Fairy Tale Retellings

With the invention of the printing press, fairy tales became limited by the idea of an "original" (Pettitt, 2009; Blamires, 2003). However, in the past century, the retelling and changing of fairy tales has become incredibly popular in all forms of media, such as print, film, ballet, musicals, etc. Despite Western populations' familiarity with these tales, the demand for such retellings continues to rise, with the storytellers finding great financial success with each "new" version they provide. Researchers have many varying opinions on the reasons for such intense responses to retold fairy tales, but there is a gap of research on the actual changes made to the retold tales and what they mean. Through the use of Narrative Criticism, three of the most popularly retold fairy tales (Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and Snow White) were analyzed for the biggest alterations, and what those alterations are meant to convey to consumers. Findings revealed that the biggest changes across all three retellings were those of character, narrator, audience, and setting. These changes indicate a switch from the authoritative nature of the first printed versions to an inferential nature with the subsequent retellings, with authors leaning into the Narrative Paradigm and forcing audiences to instead ruminate on the changes made in the familiar tales, and to decide for themselves what those changes mean for their personal lives.
