Srovnání Montrealského kognitivního testu a Krátkého testu kognitivních funkcí pro screeningovou diagnostiku Alzheimerovy choroby / Comparison of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment and the Mini-Mental State Examination in screening diagnostics of Alzheimer's disease

Orlíková, Hana January 2013 (has links)
This thesis deals with the neuropsychological diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. The aim is to evaluate the psychometric characteristics ofthe new Czech translation of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) by comparison with the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), a method widely used by doctors inscreening diagnostics of Alzheimer's disease. The theoretical part deals with the diagnostics of Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment. We describe international diagnostic criteria of cognitive disorders and provide an overview of the screening neuropsychological methods most commonly used by Czech specialists. We summarize the current psychometric and psychodiagnostic findings on these methods and focuse on description of MMSE and MoCA. In the empirical part we compare Czech version of MMSE and MoCA-CZ (the new Czech translation of the test). We examined 38 patients with Alzheimer's disease and 70 cognitively healthy seniors. The results show that MoCA-CZ is sufficiently valid and reliable screening method that accurately distinguishbetween healthy subjects and patiens with Alzheimer's disease. We believe that it can enrich screening tools that are available to Czech experts. Key words: Montreal Cognitive Assessment, Mini-Mental State Examination, Alzheimer's disease, psychodiagnostics,...

The stakes of video in the training of trainee teachers : the case of the Physical Education "Agrégation Externe"

Bolatre, Aude 06 March 2012 (has links)
Our research deals with one of the oral examinations of the Physical Education "agrégation externe" studying the status and importance of video in the trainee teachers's training. We have chosen to use the Science and Technology studies framework developed by Madeleine Akrich, Bruno Latour and Michel Callon (1992) in order to answer our initial question. One of the main hypothesis being the fact that there would be translation links constitutes by a network which enables to start a change in the way of using the video tool according to the skills which are expected in the teaching of Physical Education. This change would be initiated by a translator. In order to piece together the way the translation is being carried out by the translation, that is to say to chieve to change, we interviewed the Oral 3 jury, the president of the jury from 2003 to 2006, a chief Education Officer in Physical Education, headmasters and students of the Cachan Ecole Normale Supérieure in Physical education. These people were interviewed in Fontainebleau from 2004 to 2007 thanks to a questionnaire in order to know how the students used the video and how important the video was to them during this roal examination. Therefore, the analysis of these data enable us to present the different steps leading to a better understanding of how the translation is achieved.

Šulcová, Petra January 2012 (has links)
Title: Formative influence of artistic gymnastics on girls' posture in age between 11 - 15 years old. This diploma thesis deals with posture problems of female gymnasts in age between 11 - 15 years old, the main task concerns with posture conditions and movement apparatus. We have chosen standartized tests that deal with quality of posture according to Klein and Thomas, Mathias' test and motion tests according to Janda, Kabelikova and Vavrova as the main sources of information. We can evaluate the influence and suitability of the exercise, means and methods in the training of artistic gymnastics. The thesis tries to show the significant influence of the training load on the level of posture and movement system. The data that have been obtained are placed in relevant forms. We used quantitative approach as the main resarch method. Other methods like observing and describing were used to elaborate the tests' results. To complete the task we have used opinion poll. All the results were interpreted by means of comparison in Microsoft Office Word. The aim of the work is to contribute to the discussion about problems of posture in artistic gymnastics in the age group that has been mentioned above. The results showed us that because of the specific training load in artistic gymnastics, the major load is...

Dufilho, Grandchamps, or Peyroux? The Development of Professional Pharmacy in Colonial and Early National American Louisiana

Dorrance, Laurel A. 20 May 2011 (has links)
This paper will examine the hidden history of the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum and investigate the claims regarding the first licensed pharmacist in the United States. Drawing from legislative, church, medical, legal and institutional records, this study argues that colonial control, such as regulations governing medical practice and licensing requirements, established by continental powers in their overseas colonies, tended to recreate traditions and laws found in the home countries. For instance, the more rigorous licensing requirements for medical professionals, as practiced in France and Spain, were also the custom in Louisiana. However, when Louisiana became part of the Unites States, these regulations were relaxed, reflecting the laissez-faire policy of English laws and custom. This work challenges the bias often found in the presentation of American historical experience that makes claims for English colonial traditions informing the entire American experience.

Larsson, Teodor, Stegå, Carin January 2019 (has links)
This essay is about how thinking skills are requested in examinations in the course religion 1 in Swedish upper secondary schools. To investigate this an analysis template has been created which is constructed from Göran Svanelids theory the big five, who explains which abilities the Swedish curriculum demands. The main question for this study is How clear and to what extent are the abilities who Göran Svanelids theory the big five points out in exams within the course religion 1? To answer this, three support questions has been made. The First is about how these abilities change between the program they are used. The second one is how the form of examination affects the possibilities to show the abilities and lastly how the kind of question affects the possibility to show the abilities. The analysis template and theory derive from the Swedish curriculum and the lecturer Göran Svaneldis analysis of the curriculum. He found five thinking skills or abilities which all subjects value and who the pupils are supposed to learn. These are; concept skills, the skill to analyse, communicative skills, the ability to perform a procedure and metacognition. These abilities have been operationalized to become a theory to inspect how well and to what extent they are asked for in an examination. Therefore, this study is based on text interpretation of the examinations, with an aim of being both qualitative and quantitative. Out of the total amount of 106 emails sent to principals, teachers and administrative personnel at upper secondary school’s total of 38 examinations were collected1. 14 out of these were written tests, 16 were written essays and eight were oral examinations. The result displays that all examinations ask for the abilities but not all types of questions in the examinations ask for all abilities. The closed type of question only gives the opportunity to show concept skills. The concept skill is the most visible ability in all exams, the secondly most visible skill is the communicative skill, thirdly the analysis skill, fourthly is the skill of procedure and fifth and lastly, the metacognitive skill. The conclusion is that programs who aim to ensue further studies ask for all abilities to a larger extent and with a higher level of clarity. While the vocational program who aim to ensure a working career after upper secondary school ask for the abilities with a lesser clarity. Written essays are the best form of examination to ask for the abilities to a larger extent and with a higher clarity than oral examinations or written tests.

Molecullar charaterization of Giardia spp. from human faecal samples of Hospital Universitário USP São Paulo, by analisys of fragments from code gene da beta-giardina (bg).

Santos, Valdir Azevedo dos 13 December 2011 (has links)
Different species have been described concerning their hosts. G. duodenalis parasites not only men but also domestic and wild animals. Recently molecular techniques have been used to identify seven different assemblages which parasites specific hosts. The microscopic analysis do not allows that discrimination. It can be useful to know the assemblage profile of specific population in order to provide some important information to built public health politicies once it reveals the transmition of the protozoan The aim of this study was to verify the enteroparasites infection degree, the individual contribution of each one in this picture and to genotyping G. duodenalis cysts from human faecal samples of individuals from University Hospital from Universty of São Paulo. So, 6717 faecal samples were analysed and 12,5% were positive for some enteroparasite and S.stercoralis and G. duodenais were the helminth e pathogenic protozoan more frequently found. Most of the cases of G. duodenalis were from the assemblages AII and B.

Andando no fio da navalha: riscos e armadilhas na confecção de laudos psicológicos para a justiça / Walking on the razors edge: avoiding ethical pitfalls while performing psychological evaluations for the court

Shine, Sidney Kiyoshi 03 April 2009 (has links)
DESCRITORES: Laudo Psicológico Prova Pericial Infrações Éticas - Avaliação Psicológica Psicologia Jurídica / Psychological evaluation is a legal asset in the due process of Family Law litigations. It must fulfill certain requirements to be accepted as a means to provide truth for the justice. It must present ethical and technical requirements to be considered a result of sound recognized psychological practice. 31 complaints of professional misconduct relating to the producing of psychological evaluation documents for Family Law courts were reviewed. These complaints were filed with Professional Board for Psychology 06 and processed during 1998 and 2005. Categories of analyses were devised through available scientific literature in the field. The reasons for the complaint, the identification of the respondent (the person that the complaint is filed against) group and the criteria to review the contested document were analysed. The result shows different kinds of written documents but only three complete psychological evaluations performed for the court. The largest group of respondents were clinical child psychologists (21 respondents). 20 complaints were either dismissed or considered that a rule violation was not established. Eight psychologists were found responsible of Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct violation by making statements about people without sufficient scientific basis. Three cases expired. There is a general lack of knowledge about forensic psychological activities in Family Law courts. The forensic psychologist whose activity is to perform child custody evaluations is not the prevalent group of respondents. Almost two thirds of all the contested written reports were considered flawless. Psychological evaluations contested but not sanctioned were found valid and useful in court. Semantic or syntax problems of language or incompetence to convey psychological subject to lay people were not the basis of filed complaints. There seems to be problems with psychological evaluation strategies instead. Important dynamic family issues were ignored leading to faulty conclusions stated on written reports. Acting out of counter transference feelings, lack of experience in work with families involved in justice, and lack of knowledge of the power struggle in dealing with lawyers and judges are thought to be reasons for the misconduct. A warning is made against psychological evaluation that addresses the merit of the case, thus performing an act alien to the object and objective of psychological practice. It is recognized that psychological evaluation leads to the normalization of human conduct then ruled acceptable or not through legal standards. Social conflicts should be ruled by courts and not by psychologists. The works of Professional Board of Psychology both regional and federal are of paramount importance for the active citizenship and responsible provision of psychological services.

O coordenador de curso superior de instituições de ensino superior privadas: análise dos contributos políticos, gerenciais, acadêmicos e institucionais / The University course coordinator of private higher education institutions: analysis of political, managerial, academic and institutional contributions

Bassoli, Dyjalma Antonio 26 May 2014 (has links)
The current scenario of private Brazilian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), characterized by its high competitive edge, assumes that the profile of the course coordinator, understood by this process as a university administrator, should be suitable to the new demands for such function. This study sought to recognize whether the set of identifiable skills in it can be inherent to the exercise of the course coordinators function at private HEIs, and in order to ensure a systemic vision to act as the course manager, if these skills are established in political, managerial, academic and institutional fields, which would contribute to the courses survival on the market. Course coordinators whose academic ranks reached maximal concept at ENADE (National Student Performance Examination) were surveyed. The methodology consisted in the use of both bibliographic research and fieldwork. The last one considered the adhibition of a research protocol proposed by Franco (2002), which seeks to identify the ideal coordinator, preceded by instrument made to identify a coordinator, a HEI and a course profile. Studies have been performed in order to build contextual and relevant knowledge to contribute critically and responsibly to the training policies and the management of Brazilian private institutions, with a view to transforming knowledge into competitive advantage, as well as encouraging the process of innovation and formalized knowledge transfer activity for the academic management of these HEIs, assisting in the development of a consistent institutional culture to the context of knowledge management. The uniqueness of this function in the current process of academic management of private HEIs and different ways to investigate the academic-administrative boundary have been reflected upon this function. The results of this study allow a critical analysis on how those responsible for coordinating private undergraduate courses have sought to meet the diverse contemporary demands for such function. Although the surveyed functions have been considered as a course coordination responsibility provided by the own coordinators, once achieved high scores on most variables evaluated in the four studied functions, which also would express an alignment of these managers to the premises of an manager-coordinator, when comparing these professional profiles to the activities performed contemporaneously by them, a relative incoherence appears. Even recognizing that the construction of an ideal coordinator go through all this range of responsibilities, which brings to a finished and ready profile, it could not be recognized in the professional study, experiencing significant results in traditional assessments of higher education in the course which they coordinate, the professional enough expression of the essence to forward this function to current demands. We recognize the unceasing need to further maintain this coordinators apprentice attitude, who constantly seeks to overcome in order to achieve the expected fullness of leadership and management, and who can give treatment to the likely future trends and directions of labor market from the respective courses.
