Wredling, Carl, Bäckebo, Joel January 2022 (has links)
The purpose of the study at hand is to convey a conservative theoretical perspective on the contemporary issues of segregation in Sweden. The aim has been to forth bring answers from a presented definition of conservatism through an idea analysis, which contains the main points of the conservative formation of ideas. The execution of the study is made through the method of Badersten’s “given-that analysis”. The aforementioned ideas are based on the works of mostly prominent conservative thinkers; Edmund Burke, Michael Oakeshott, Russell Kirk, John Kekes and, last but not least, Sir Roger Scruton. These are furthermore applied to three aspects of the concept of segregation, namely ethnic, socioeconomic, and city-and-landsegregation.  In conclusion, the result contains a variety of possible solutions that are contextually bound to the situation in Sweden. These solutions, or answers, are based on typical conservative beliefsand perceptions of concepts concerning rationalism, the little platoons, historical experience, freedom, class and justice, and nationalism. The solutions that are drawn from these concepts consists of answers such as the need to increase the level of individual responsibility both in terms of the individual herself as well as in relation to the state. Another point made is that regarding the importance of a common culture with a set of norms that firmly stands as the reference point throughout society. Also, a reactive response to increase the respect and authority of the law enforcement is determined.

Srovnání strategických kultur Československa a Finska před druhou světovou válkou / Comparative analysis of Czechoslovak and Finnish strategic cultures before World War II

Jílek, Tomáš January 2013 (has links)
Aim of the thesis is to examine the influence of strategic culture on states and their most substantial decisions. The concept of strategic culture introduced first by Jack Snyder in the 1970s is today generally accepted, there are even warnings that culturalism may become too fashionable, indeed some authors say this is already happening. Most works however focus on strategic cultures of countries with long and rich history, historical experience and a great amount of various doctrinal documents - such as USA, Russia, China or India. My aim is to identify the influence of strategic culture in small countries, with a rather short period of independence - Finland and Czechoslovakia before World War II. They differ in one crucial decision: Czechoslovakia had decided to yield to German territorial demands, while Finland had decided not to do so and as a result faced a war against the Soviet Union. Hypothesis of this work is that this crucial difference is caused by different strategic cultures in the two contexts.

Vozes narrativas em A Distant Shore de Caryl Phillips / Narrative voices in A distant shore by Caryl Phillips

Pedreira, Márcia 26 September 2008 (has links)
Through shifts in point-of-view, among other literary resources, the Author alternates and intertwines narratives of the experiences of two characters from contrasting cultural formations with narratives of their thoughts about the past, themselves, each other and the various settings in which they act. These spheres are rendered as incongruent with the idea of a world without borders, so often celebrated in late modernity. The aim of this thesis is to discuss how elements of present-day historical and psychological experience solidify in the form of this particular contemporary novel

Figurations of Lunda: historical experience and literary forms - a study about Luanda\' s traditional people ethnography and history \'Expedição portuguesa ao Muantiânvua, 1884-1888\' by Henrique de Carvalho, \'Lueji e Ilunga na terra da amizade\' by Castro Soromenho and \' Lueji- o nascimento dum império\' by Pepetela.

Silva, Raquel 08 February 2008 (has links)
These three distinct literary forms are connected with historiographic writings, for Castro Soromenho and Pepetela appropriate Henrique de Carvalho text to elaborate their central plots which focus the space of Lunda. Having in mind that space potentializes the three narratives, in this study we will take into consideration that \"The literary form cannot be understood separate from the content, and neither is it independent from the nature of the subject and the proceedings which are conditioned by this same content. Form depends on the content, and also on the particular aspects of the subject and on the elaboration it implies.\"* (Bakhtin, M. 1992, p.206)

А., Kuknah, E. A. January 2019 (has links)
The emergence of social entrepreneurship in Russia has historical roots and is a new approach to solving social problems. The article presents an analysis of the prerequisites for the formation of a new category in social life. Social entrepreneurship can be safely attributed to the socially responsible activities of small and medium-sized businesses aimed at solving social problems. In modern Russia the number of social entrepreneurs who started their activities initially as a subject of social entrepreneurship is little. Commercial enterprises often become social. In Russia the problem of social entrepreneurship is not theoretically understood. At the moment there is a lack of research on social entrepreneurship. In Russia the development of the concept of social entrepreneurship is formed on the basis of practice which undoubtedly causes difficulties. Social entrepreneurship is represented primarily in the areas of health, education and social services. However, the field of social entrepreneurship can include the solution of many problems affecting society. The practice of social entrepreneurship in Russia faces a number of problems such as the definition of the organizational and legal form of the enterprise, the presence of the current legislative framework regarding the phenomenon, the lack of state programs that stimulate social entrepreneurs to introduce innovations in the social sphere. 臺灣民眾國家認同的發展:1895年到2000年 / The Development of People’s National Identity from 1895 to 2000

Medina, Sharon Paulette Unknown Date (has links)
National Identity, the depiction of a country as a whole, encompassing its culture based on traditions, language and politics. This concept has grown to be common, lectured by scholars from various disciplines. Existing studies have fabricated piece by piece the definition of national identity, to comprehend the complex interaction within individuals, groups and a “Nation”. This paper seeks to provide the importance of the relationship of history on national identity, using the case of Taiwan, also known as the R.O.C (Republic of China). The importance of this research is critical to support how, when, and what variables during the time period of 1895 (Japanese Colonial Period) to 2000 (KMT Authoritarian Rule and Democratic Transition Period) were the main causes for Taiwan’s national identity to evolve. What exactly does national identity refer to? And how do historical experiences such as, the Japanese colonial era, the 2-28 and White Terror period, and KMT’s authoritarian rule and democratic transition before 2000, can systematically cause change? Prior to analyzing Taiwan, we first conduct a general review on the development of identity; the interconnection between the social, political, and cultural identities and how those identities along with historical experiences impact national identity evolution. At that juncture, we will question other scholarly works on the development of people’s national identity from 1895 to 2000 and its impact in Taiwan.
