Comparison of fuzzy and crisp analytic hierarchy process (AHP) methods for spatial multicriteria decision analysis in GIS

Kordi, Maryam January 2008 (has links)
There are a number of decision making problems in which Geographical Information System (GIS) has employed to organize and facilitate the procedure of analyzing the problem. These GIS-based decision problems which typically include a number of different criteria and alternatives are generally analyzed by Multicriteria Decision Analysis (MCDA).Different locations within a geographical area represent the alternatives by which the overall goal of the project is achieved. The quality of achieving the goal is evaluated by a set of criteria which should be considered in the work. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) which is a powerful method of MCDA generally can organize spatial problems and decides which alternatives are most suitable for the defined problems. However due to some intrinsic uncertainty in the method, a number of authors suggest fuzzifying the method while others are against fuzzification of the AHP. The debate over fuzzifying AHP is going on and attempt for finding that was mostly in theory, and little, if any; practical comparison between the AHP and fuzzified AHP has done. This work presents a practical comparison of AHP and fuzzy AHP in a GIS-based problem, case study, for locating a dam in Costa Rica, considering different criteria. In order to perform the AHP and fuzzy AHP in the GIS-based problem and calculating weights of the criteria by the methods, some computer codes have written and developed in MATLAB. The comparisons between the AHP and fuzzy AHP methods are done on result weights and on the result final maps. The comparison between the weights is repeated on different levels of uncertainty in fuzzy AHP then all the results are compared with the result of AHP method. Also this study for checking the effect of fuzzification on results is suggested Chi-Square test as a suitable tool. Comparisons between the resulting weights of the AHP and fuzzy AHP methods show some differences between the methods. Furthermore, the Chi-Square test shows that the higher level of uncertainty in the fuzzy AHP, the greater the difference in results between the AHP and fuzzy AHP methods.

Žinių naudojimo verslo informacinėse sistemose tyrimas / Investigation of knowledge use in business information systems

Valatkaitė, Irma 21 December 2004 (has links)
In the research of the business IS development the business rules approach has achieved a lot of attention and already has a steady niche with a strong motivation behind. The usefulness of the approach and its advantages over the traditional IS development approaches call for the technology standards. Despite the work done towards standardization there is still a way to go – commercial products use their unique modeling languages for business rules, most of their rules processing and enforcement engines are stand-alone, even the embeddable ones use their unique rules representation format. In our research focusing on the business rules we have stepped towards employing the widely spread technology of active databases and have argued that it is feasible and possible to model business rules using conceptual graphs. Such a model having representations in visual and textual form (linear form and CGIF) and the possibility to translate the model to the near natural English language can be used both at conceptual and implementation levels. We have designed and implemented the automatic trigger generation component. Using the representative example from the real business organization (the representative example was comprised of structural domain knowledge and corresponding business rules) we have carried out the experiment during which the business rules model was transformed from visual notation to CGIF, then from CGIF to XML, and then from XML to MS SQL Server trigger. Užsakymų informacinė sistema su paklausos prognozavimu / Order information system with multidimensional demand forecasting

Bencevičius, Edgaras 10 January 2005 (has links)
In current work problems and requirements for demand forecasting in commercial or manufacturing enterprises are analyzed and suitable forecasting algorithms are proposed. In enterprises with multidimensional and heterogeneous demand it is advisable to use different algorithms for different demand constituents and to readjust parameters used for forecasting. Existing forecasting packages are not practical as they are not integrated with commodities or materials supply orders management activities and business processes of enterprise. The orders management system is developed with forecasting component using adopted time series forecasting techniques such as moving average, exponential smoothing, double exponential smoothing, seasonal etc. These techniques ensure reliable forecasting results for different time series models: random, trend, seasonal and cycling, and are integrated with other business management activities. It is possible to calculate deviations of forecasted demand from factual values, to select algorithms giving minimal perсentage error, and to adjust algorithms parameters to changing demand. The system can help managers to choose forecasting algorithms and to adapt their parameters in the course of time. The system is designed using UML CASE tool and implemented in Microsoft .Net environment using MS SQL Server for data storage.

Komponentinio IS modelio transformavimo sistema / Component - based model transformation system

Alšauskas, Žydrūnas, Kozlovskis, Linas, Mačionis, Raimondas 28 January 2008 (has links)
Kuriant informacines sistemas, tenka kurti tuos pačius sistemos komponentus, o sistemą realizuojant komponentinio modeliavimo principu, galima panaudoti jau sukurtus komponentus juos papildant, susiaurinant bei pagal poreikius koreguojant. Pagrindinis darbo tikslas - integruoti veiklos modelį ir detalų IS projekto modelį, panaudojant komponentinį sistemos projektavimo metodą. Darbe išanalizuotos Magic Draw UML 12.5 galimybės, sukurtas profailas, skirtas nubraižyti komponentinį IS modelį. Realizuota komponentinio modelio transformacijos į klasių modelį programinė įranga, sukurta MS Visual Studio .NET 2005, kuri sugeba atlikti komponentinio IS modelio transformavimą į UML klasių modelį. Atliktas eksperimentas, palygintas sukurta programine įranga sugeneruotų komponentų programinis kodas su „Magic Draw UML 12.5“ programine įranga generuotais klasių aprašais. / Presented work covers an approach to applications development based on the principles of the model-driven architecture and using the component-based system model (CBSM). The CBSM helps to refine main components and interfaces of the application at the design stage. The information system’s architecture is structured considering a business system as a set of different domains (Business, Data, Information process) with definite types of components, and with interfaces between the components of different types. Presented work is topical, when creates the same information system’s components. These components can be used and they can be modified or changed. Component - based model transformation system is created and tested with special project.

Kardiovaskulinės reabilitacijos klinikos informacinės sistemos kūrimas ir tyrimas / Development and research of information system of patients with heart disease

Pociūnas, Ernestas 24 May 2006 (has links)
Today information is very expensive and useful. If you want to get wanted information when you need it, get information in wanted form and get information which you expected, you need an information system. The main purpose of this project is to create web-based information system of patients with heart disease, which let store, modify information about patients and their medical testing. There will be a possibility to generate reports for the period you want or for the wanted patient. The point of this information system is to store information, process necessary information faster, to facilitate and make faster personnel work. Medical testing results can be put into the database in two ways: from specific file or from interface. Other part of master‘s work is research named „SQL performance speed in Java and PL/SQL stored procedures“. PL/SQL is the procedural language extension to SQL and it encapsulates SQL statements in procedural logic. Starting with Oracle8i, Oracle supports Java in the database. Java stored procedures also can encapsulate SQL statements that run within the database via procedural logic. In this paper you can find the answer for the question, where do I have to put the SQL, Java or PL/SQL stored procedures.
