Partindo de uma ação que eles denominam montagem, é possível refletir sobre a produção e reprodução de femininos performáticos - performático aqui entendido no sentido de que acrescenta a transitoriedade ao sujeito (Butler). Nessa montagem, os transcender reconstroem gêneros, revelando que essa categoria não possui uma estrutura binária e essencialista, antes, refere-se a multiplicidades e está vinculada a outras relações sociais. Também através da montagem, esses sujeitos modificam seu corpo e nome -demonstrando a transitoriedade da pessoa e indicando que sua ação é encorporada, visto que mimetizada e aprendida através do corpo e nele observada. Este trabalho, então, é uma etnografia sobre esses sujeitos, que leva em conta uma perspectiva relacional e situacional de gênero, uma abordagem das identidades como constituídas transitoriamente - não fixadas -, reflexiva e esteticamente e relacionadas a contextos de relações específicos, tendo como base a partilha de significados. Esta etnografia foi feita através de pesquisa de campo entre os travestis, transformistas, transexuais e drag-queens em Belo Horizonte e Lisboa e é uma interpretação das representações que esses sujeitos fazem do "ser" transgender nessas duas cidades. / Abstract: The aim of this dissertation is to analyze and discuss the differences and similarities among travesties, transformers, transsexuals and drag queens, the so-called transgender. Starting from an action called "montagem" (manufacturing, building), it is possible to study the production and reproduction of performers female. Performers in the sense of being transitory (Butler). In their process of "montagem", transgender rebuilds gender, revealing that this category does not have a binary and essentialist structure. Rather, it relates to the multiplicity, as well as it is connected to other social relations. The "montagem" also allows that the agent transforms its body and name, revealing the temporary feature to the individual. Besides, it shows that his action is embodied, since related to the body. This work is, then, an ethnography of these agents, taking into account the relational and situational perspective of gender. This ethnography was carried out by a research among travesties, transformers, transsexuals, and drag queens in Belo Horizonte (Brazil) and Lisbon (Portugal). A partir de um evento chamado Proudmoore Pride – uma parada LGBT dentro do jogo online World of Warcraft – procuro compreender de que maneira se constroem possibilidades de enunciar modos de vida não-misóginos e não-heteronormativos nessa cultura, além das formas de resistência à heteronormatividade. Entendo os jogos digitais como uma cultura e um contexto, não simplesmente um conteúdo explícito. Já a identidade de gênero/sexualidade é concebida como sempre política e contingente, inserida e constituída por e em relações de poder. O autoextermínio também é compreendido como um fenômeno gendrado, cuja construção discursiva é marcada por especificidades de gênero. Ademais, em sociedades machistas e heterossexistas como a brasileira, a não correspondência aos padrões normativos de sexualidade e de gênero podem se tornar fonte de intenso sofrimento psíquico, culminando nos óbitos e tentativas de suicídio. Com base nesse entendimento, o objetivo do presente estudo foi analisar a presença do gênero no comportamento suicida através de duas perspectivas: na leitura de dados epidemiológicos e em entrevistas abertas com homens e mulheres de diferentes orientações sexuais que já manifestaram tentativas de suicídio. Nesse sentido, a presente dissertação é composta por três artigos. O primeiro deles teve como objetivo analisar, sob a perspectiva de gênero, o comportamento suicida a partir de dados epidemiológicos, já existentes e produzidos, envolvendo óbitos e tentativas de autoextermínio no Distrito Federal. Verificou-se distinções entre a frequência de óbitos e de tentativas de suicídio entre homens e mulheres, além de valores de gênero presentes nos aspectos sociodemográficos, como faixa etária, raça/cor, escolaridade, situação conjugal, entre outros elementos existentes nos documentos analisados. O segundo teve como escopo analisar qualitativamente, por meio das teorias das masculinidades, as vivências de homens gays, bissexuais e heterossexuais que já manifestaram o comportamento suicida. Ao final, as categorias identificadas apontaram para similaridades e distinções nas narrativas de cada grupo de orientação sexual e evidenciaram a forma como a não correspondência à masculinidade hegemônica se expressa nas sexualidades estudadas. Na mesma direção do segundo, o terceiro artigo buscou analisar qualitativamente as vivências de mulheres bissexuais, lésbicas e heterossexuais que já manifestaram o comportamento suicida. Ao final, nas categorias levantadas, destacou-se o impacto das violências de gênero, dos ideais estéticos e do término dos relacionamentos no sofrimento psíquico das entrevistadas. A partir dos artigos, foi observada a necessária consideração do gênero nas pesquisas no campo da suicidologia, o que também envolve a apreciação dos dados epidemiológicos, no que tange os aspectos sociodemográficos. Além disso, por meio das entrevistas, verificou-se a importância do investimento em pesquisas qualitativas neste campo, a fim de investigar o impacto dos contextos sociais adoecedores na manifestação do comportamento suicida. / This work aims to discuss the gender expression in suicidal behavior. Self-extermination is also understood as a gendered phenomenon, whose discursive construction is marked by gender specificities. Moreover, in sexist and heterosexist societies such as Brazil, noncompliance with normative standards of sexuality and gender can become a source of intense psychic suffering, culminating in suicide deaths and attempts. Based on this understanding, the objective of the present study was to analyze the presence of gender in suicidal behavior from two perspectives: in the reading of epidemiological data and in open interviews with men and women of different sexual orientations who have already manifested suicide attempts. The present dissertation is composed of three articles. The first one aimed at analyzing, from a gender perspective, suicidal behavior based on epidemiological data, already existing and produced, involving deaths and attempts at self-extermination in the Federal District. Differences were found between the frequency of suicide deaths and suicide attempts among men and women, as well as gender values present in sociodemographic aspects, such as age, race/color, schooling, marital status, among other elements in the documents analyzed. The second objective was to qualitatively analyze, through the theories of masculinities, the experiences of gay, bisexual and heterosexual men who have already manifested suicidal behavior. In the end, the categories identified pointed to similarities and distinctions in the narratives of each sexual orientation group and evidenced how the non-correspondence to hegemonic masculinity is expressed in the studied sexualities. In the same direction as the second, the third article sought to qualitatively analyze the experiences of bisexual, lesbian and heterosexual women who have already manifested their suicidal behavior. At the end, in the categories raised, the impact of gender violence, aesthetic ideals and the termination of relationships in the psychic suffering of the interviewees was highlighted. From the articles, it was observed the necessary consideration of the gender in the researches in the field of suicidology, which also involves the appreciation of the epidemiological data, regarding the sociodemographic aspects. In addition, through interviews, the importance of investing in qualitative research was verified in this thematic, in order to investigate the impact of social illness contexts on the manifestation of suicidal behavior.

O estudo analisa os significados atribuídos pelas travestis ao adoecimento e a saúde, o risco a aids, bem como a interação nos espaços institucionais de saúde, com enfoque nos dilemas e potencialidades frente ao reconhecimento das diferenças das travestis e suas necessidades para uma vida qualificada / This research aims to understand the actions undertaken and/or proposed to promote the quality of life and health of transvestites who prostitutes themselves in a country town of São Paulo. The investigation is based on the territories ethnography and interactions in the sex market and in the other daily experiences with the transvestites and it explores how the prevention of AIDS works disciplining the individuals and enlarging the field of health rights.The study analyses the meanings assigned by the transvestites to the illness and health, the risk of AIDS, as well as the interaction in the institutional spaces of health, with emphasis on dilemmas and potentialities facing the recognition of the differences of the transvestites and their needs for a qualified life

Objetivamos, através da utilização das correntes de pensamento feministas, problematizar as representações hegemônicas de gênero que reiteram e enfatizam atitudes de preconceito e desigualdades entre homens e mulheres. Refletimos, por meio dos Estudos Feministas, sobre as possibilidades de realização de um fazer pedagógico a partir de uma perspectiva que rompa com o viés patriarcal; apresentando a importância da corrente de pensamento feminista como possibilidade de problematização das relações de gênero. Discutimos a Crítica Literária Feminista como ferramenta teórica e crítica que possibilita identificar os estereótipos de gênero presentes nos textos literários que compõe os Cadernos do/a Aluno/a de Língua Portuguesa e Literatura do Ensino Médio. Elaboramos uma análise dos textos que compõe os Cadernos do/a Aluno/a de Língua Portuguesa e Literatura, apresentando o modo como o material é estruturado, e narrando as iniciativas públicas que motivaram a confecção dos manuais didáticos. Por fim, apresentamos os resultados das análises e refletimos sobre a importância de problematizações acerca do gênero para a realização de uma pedagogia mais justa e inclusiva a todos/as os/as membros/as da comunidade escolar / This research belongs to the research line of Education Process, differences and values, from the Post-graduation Program in Education of the FCT-UNESP of Presidente Prudente, and it aims to reflect on the female representation in textbooks made by the Education Secretary of São Paulo to high school. It is aimed, through the use of feminist line of thought, problematize the hegemonic gender representation which reiterate and emphasize prejudice and inequality attitudes between men and women. It reflects, through Feminist Studies, about the possibilities of doing a pedagogical action originated from a perspective that breaks with the patriarchal bias, showing the important of the feminist line of thought as a possibility to problematize the gender relations. We discuss the Feminist Literary Criticism as a theoretical and criticism tool which enables identify the gender stereotypes present in literary books that are part of the Student's Portuguese and Literature Textbook of high school. It was elaborated an analysis of texts presented in these textbooks, presenting how the material is structured, and narrating the public policies that motivated the confection of these textbook. Finally, it is presented the results of the analysis and the reflection on the importance of problematizing the gender in order to the accomplishment of a fairer and more inclusive pedagogy to all member of the school community

As “Cirurgias de Redesignação Sexual”, realizadas por pessoas que pretendem “adequar” seus caracteres sexuais anatômicos a uma conformação corporal associada a outro sexo, têm sido motivo de divergências tanto na área médica, quanto nas áreas psicológica e social. É um campo polêmico, que toma proporções maiores a cada novo passo no avanço das técnicas cirúrgicas e biomédicas, e que se insere no conjunto de outras polêmicas, tais como a inseminação artificial, a clonagem, a escolha genética de bebês, o uso de células tronco, entre outros. Essas cirurgias trazem para discussão a relação entre corpo, sexualidade e identidade, e colocam em cheque uma suposta naturalidade biológica desses conceitos. Mais do que isto, a pretensão de “mudar de sexo” parece indicar que estamos diante de novas formas de ser e estar no mundo e que o “mal-estar” de nossa civilização pode estar produzindo novas saídas para os velhos dilemas da sexualidade. / The "Sex Reassignment Surgery", done by people who want to “adjust” their sexual features and anatomic body shape in order to look like the opposite sex, has been the subject of disagreement in the medical, as well as in the psychological and social fields. It is a controversial area that has increasing impact as surgical and biomedical techniques advance. Besides that it is part of a larger range of controversial themes, such as artificial insemination, cloning, genetic selection, and the use of stem cells, among others. The aforementioned surgeries bring to discussion the relationship between body image, sexuality and identity and raise questions about a supposed naturalness of these concepts. More than that, the intention of "changing sexes" seems to indicate that we are facing new forms of being in the world and that the "disquiet" of our civilization may be producing new answers for old dilemmas of sexuality.

A incursão no campo de pesquisa delineou o objeto de estudo em busca de compreender as injunções entre identidade de gênero, identidade sexual, desejo e práticas sexuais na experiência de mulheres lésbicas masculinizadas. Teve como base as teorias de gênero e da sexualidade postuladas a partir da desconstrução das identidades fixas, da crítica ao binarismo e que consideram a heteronormatividade como categoria de análise. O contato com as interlocutoras deu-se através do Grupo Afirmativo de Mulheres Independentes (GAMI), organização não governamental (ONG), de lésbicas e bissexuais do Rio Grande do Norte (RN), localizadas na Zona Norte de Natal. A metodologia do estudo foi qualitativa, inspirada no método da etnografia, combinando as técnicas de observação participante seguida de entrevistas em profundidade. Os resultados do estudo apontaram variações de configurações do masculino e do feminino que compõem expressões identitárias de gênero instáveis e construídas a partir de performances de gênero. A pluralidade de expressões de masculinidade foi encontrada, assim como a constatação de que a subversão e a reprodução das convenções sociais que instituem padrões hegemônicos alimentados no androcentrismo e na heteronormatividade existem nas experiências do grupo estudado. A masculinidade nessas mulheres foi produzida através de ferramentas ou tecnologias de gênero que as interlocutoras chamaram de estilo, estilos corporais mediados pela vestimenta. A lésbica masculina performatiza um estilo bofe que é produzido em representações cotidianas, sem que haja desejo de alteração do sexo. As interlocutoras se depararam com instrumentos de normalização de regimes de poder cujos efeitos foram a produção da abjeção. Nesse contexto, estratégias de resistência foram acionadas, com confrontos, silêncios, malemolência, negociações, formas de existência. Foi identificada a necessidade de estudos, com enfoque feminista, que problematizem as categorias feminino e masculino, na composição das identidades de gênero, imbricadas com as identidades sexuais. / This dissertation aims at understanding the production of meaning and subjectivities in the experiences of lesbianism among black, working class women of various ages in the Brazilian Northeast. It seeks to analyze the injunctions of gender and sex identities, desire and sexual practices in the experience of masculinized lesbian women. It is based on gender and sexuality theories which postulate the deconstruction of fixed identities, the critique of binarisms, and consider heteronormativity as an analytical category. The contact with interlocutors was made through the Group for the Affirmation of Independent Women - GAMI, a non-governmental organization of lesbians and bisexuals located in the North Zone of Natal, city capital of Rio Grande do Norte. The study was based on a qualitative methodology and inspired on the ethnographic method, combining participant-observation techniques with in-depth interviews. The results show variations in configurations of masculinity and femininity constitutive of gender identity expressions, seen here as instable and constructed on the basis of gender performances, giving rise to a plurality of expressions of masculinity. It was also observed that the subversion and reproduction of social conventions that institute hegemonic patterns, produced by androcentrism and heteronormativity, also take place in the experiences of the group studied. Masculinity was produced in these women by means of gender tools or technologies that they identified as style” - body styles mediated by attire. The masculinized lesbian performs a butch (‘bofe') style, produced in everyday representation, but expresses no desire of a sex change. Women interlocutors also confronted instruments of the normalization of power regimes whose effects were the production of abjection. In this context, strategies of resistance were put to work by means of confrontations, silences, listlessness, negotiations and forms of existence. In sum, this study identified the need for feminist studies that interrogate the categories ‘feminine' and ‘masculine' in the composition of gender identities.

A ideia de um sujeito assexual traz à tona discussões acerca dos usos políticos do sexo, coloca em exame as epistemologias da sexualidade e suscita debates a propósito dos modos de subjetivação contemporâneos. Nesta tese, procura-se apresentar o percurso científico da assexualidade e traçar uma compreensão sobre esse fenômeno. No primeiro capítulo, faz-se uma narrativa minuciosa de toda a produção bibliográfica sobre o tema, contemplando todos os artigos e livros publicados até o presente, bem como aquelas fontes mais antigas que se relacionavam diretamente com a assexualidade. Compilou-se essas leituras de modo a reconstruir, identificar e contextualizar as primeiras menções ao termo e os desdobramentos do surgimento das comunidades virtuais de assexuais, fato que impulsionou e justifica a atual produção acadêmica a esse respeito. Aponta-se que a produção científica sobre a assexualidade reflete em muito o campo de produção acadêmica em sexualidade, contendo os principais elementos deste último: uma preponderância das tarefas de legitimar, universalizar e naturalizar, geralmente amparadas por uma visão biologista, mas, também contém uma porção de produções críticas e engajadas com a visão das políticas de identidade e de uso do sexo. No segundo capítulo, toma-se como objeto de estudo a assexualidade, e não os assexuais. A partir de alguns artigos, da navegação por seus loci virtuais de encontro e de autores contemporâneos, apresenta-se uma possibilidade de entendimento acerca desse grupo, identificando-o como uma tribo virtual. Ademais, articulam-se as concepções de sociedade do simulacro, do espetáculo, do sujeito da aparência e da subjetividade forjada pelo trabalho imaterial, entre outras, a fim de compreender a emergência da assexualidade e a posição que ela toma nesse cenário... / The Asexuals define themselves as people who do not experience sexual attraccion. The idea of an asexual individual brings up discussions about the political uses of sex, calls into question the epistemology of sexuality and raises debates about contemporary modes of subjectification. This thesis presents the scientific development of asexuality and outlines some understanding on the issue. The first chapter provides a detailed narrative of all the scientific writings on asexuality, covering every article and book published until now, including the early sources that somehow are related to it. These researches were compiled intending to rebuild identify and contextualize the first mentions to the idea of asexuality as well as the unfolding of the asexual's virual communities, which boosted the scientific production on this field. It is noted that the scientific production on asexuality is much like the scientific production on sexuality, rendering the main focusses of the last: the widely held task of legitimating, universalizing and naturalizing, commonly under a biological approach, but it also contains a fewer critical works, aligned with the policies of identity and uses of sex. The second chapter takes asexuality, instead of the asexual individuals, as object of study. Grounded on some articles, on the virtual sites of meeting as well as on some contemporary psychosocial theorists, a possibility of understanding about the group is presented, identifying it as a virtual tribe. Moreover, the ideas of simulacra society, spectacle society, the semblance subject and the subjectivity built over immaterial labor, amongst others, are coordinated in order to comprehend the emergency of asexuality and its position in the present, picturing it as both a form of subjectivation and of resistance.
