Kvalita dat a efektivní využití rejstříků státní správy / Data Quality and Effective Use of Registers of State Administration

Rut, Lukáš January 2009 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with registers of state administration in term of data quality. The main objective is to analyze the ways how to evaluate data quality and to apply appropriate method to data in business register. Analysis of possibilities of data cleansing and data quality improving and proposal of solution of found inaccuracy in business register is another objective. The last goal of this paper is to analyze approaches how to set identifier of persons and to choose suitable key for identification of persons in registers of state administration. The thesis is divided into several parts. The first one includes introduction into the sphere of registers of state administration. It closely analyzes several selected registers especially in terms of which data contain and how they are updated. Description of legislation changes, which will come into operation in the middle of year 2010, is great contribution of this part. Special attention is dedicated to the impact of these changes from data quality point of view. Next part deals with problems of legal and physical entities identifiers. This section contains possible solution how to identify entities in data from registers. Third part analyzes ways how to determine data quality. Method called data profiling is closely described and applied to extensive data quality analysis of business register. Correct metadata and information about incorrect data are the outputs of this analysis. The last chapter deals with possibilities how to solve data quality problems. There are proposed and compared three variations of solution. The paper as a whole represents compact material how to solve problems with effective using of data contained in registers of state administration. Nevertheless, proposed solutions and described approaches can be used in many other projects which deal with data quality.

Gurkas Aydin, Gulsum Zeynep 30 January 2014 (has links)
Over the last decades, with rapid and tremendous growth of IP networks in mobile and wireless environments, mobility management and session continuity has become a more important issue. As the heterogeneity increases in network environments and gradual spread of Internet of Things wave, the integration of different types of wireless networks in the IP layer became a challenging and inevitable research area. One of the most important issues related to mobility management is related to the fact that the application layer suffers from the changing of IP addresses during the movement of the mobile node. It is expected the network layer and above layers to be aware of movement of mobile nodes. New wave in the improvement ideas on this concept is separating the session identification and the location identification. This avoids the applications to suffer when the IP address changes during the mobility. This new approach needs to introduce a new layer in the TCP/IP protocol stack, on top of the IP layer that will handle the new identifiers correspondent with the current IP address or new complete architecture designs which are inheriting locator/identifier separation idea. According to these concepts, Host Identity Protocol (HIP) is one of the dominant and prominent researches that is proposed by IETF and IRTF. This protocol proposes to solve the locator/identifier split problem by also including the security support. In this thesis, predominantly HIP protocol is examined and new mobility enhancements based on this protocol have been designed and introduced

Charest, Marie-Christine 03 1900 (has links)
Globally, more than 200 million women and girls are living with female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) (WHO, 2016). Immigration movements involve the presence of increasing numbers of women and girls from countries where FGM/C is practiced in countries where medical and nursing personnel need to reflect upon how to address this topic in a sensitive and respectful manner as well as develop and implement actions and guidelines for follow-up. The purpose of this report is to describe medical and nursing practices in the obstetrical context of a university hospital to identify and provide a follow up to women who have undergone FGM/C. The key elements of identifying the presence of FGM/C and ensuring quality follow-up proposed in the Evans et al. (2019) model inspired the work throughout in this report. An international literature review (n=30) as well as a medical record review (n=46) highlighted the difficulty of documenting this practice. More specifically, limitations in the medical records were evident with respect to the identification of the presence of FGM/C on the one hand, as well as ensuring coherent and sensitive follow-up in an obstetrical context, on the other. The results confirm a need for more training specific to women's experiences as well as the development of care protocols to support medical and nursing practice (Evans et al., 2019). The contribution of intersectoral collaboration, namely community-based organizations was highlighted.

Identifiers in e-Science platforms for the ecological sciences

Nadrowski, Karin, Seifarth, Daniel, Ratcliffe, Sophia, Wirth, Christian, Maicher, Lutz 14 December 2012 (has links) (PDF)
In the emerging Web of Data, publishing stable and unique identifiers promises great potential in using the web as common platform to discover and enrich data in the ecologic sciences. With our collaborative e-Science platform “BEFdata”, we generated and published unique identifiers for the data repository of the Biodiversity – Ecosystem Functioning Research Unit of the German Research Foundation (BEF-China; DFG: FOR 891). We linked part of the identifiers to two external data providers, thus creating a virtual common platform including several ecological repositories. We used the Global Biodiversity Facility (GBIF) as well the International Plant Name Index (IPNI) to enrich the data from our own field observations. We conclude in discussing other potential providers for identifiers for the ecological research domain. We demonstrate the ease of making use of existing decentralized and unsupervised identifiers for a data repository, which opens new avenues to collaborative data discovery for learning, teaching, and research in ecology.

Brave New World Reloaded: Advocating for Basic Constitutional Search Protections to Apply to Cell Phones from Eavesdropping and Tracking by Government and Corporate Entities

Berrios-Ayala, Mark 01 December 2013 (has links)
Imagine a world where someone’s personal information is constantly compromised, where federal government entities AKA Big Brother always knows what anyone is Googling, who an individual is texting, and their emoticons on Twitter. Government entities have been doing this for years; they never cared if they were breaking the law or their moral compass of human dignity. Every day the Federal government blatantly siphons data with programs from the original ECHELON to the new series like PRISM and Xkeyscore so they can keep their tabs on issues that are none of their business; namely, the personal lives of millions. Our allies are taking note; some are learning our bad habits, from Government Communications Headquarters’ (GCHQ) mass shadowing sharing plan to America’s Russian inspiration, SORM. Some countries are following the United States’ poster child pose of a Brave New World like order of global events. Others like Germany are showing their resolve in their disdain for the rise of tyranny. Soon, these new found surveillance troubles will test the resolve of the American Constitution and its nation’s strong love and tradition of liberty. Courts are currently at work to resolve how current concepts of liberty and privacy apply to the current conditions facing the privacy of society. It remains to be determined how liberty will be affected as well; liberty for the United States of America, for the European Union, the Russian Federation and for the people of the World in regards to the extent of privacy in today’s blurred privacy expectations.
