GERENCIAMENTO DE PROCESSOS INDUSTRIAIS BASEADO EM PRINCÍPIOS DA PRODUÇÃO MAIS LIMPA / INDUSTRIAL PROCESSES MANAGEMENT BASED ON PRINCIPLES OF CLEANER PRODUCTION

Bohm, Sandra Inês Horn 12 August 2011 (has links)
Cleaner production (CP) is the continuous application of a preventive environmental strategy process associated to the products and services of an organization, with the goal of increasing efficiency and reducing risks to human beings and the environment. Its implementation has generally increased productivity from the rational use of resources. Total Performance Scorecard (TPS) is a sistematic learning process, developing and continuous improvement, based on the sustainable growth of personal and corporate actions. The objective of this research was to propose a strategy to manage organizational processes, based on the principles of cleaner production in metal mechanic companies. The proposal for maintenance and continuity of improvements is based on the TPS cycle. The research was made from the data of a producer of agricultural machines in Rio Grande do Sul, which has the objective of reducing scrap in its processes. Three cases were considered in this research: obsoletes items, purchasing process of sheet metals and cutting the sheet metals to produce the pieces. The data show a significant improvement with the use of the cleaner production principles in the researched processes. Arbetsmetodik för kvalitetsutveckling : Tillämpad i utvecklingsuppdrag / Work methodology for quality development : Applied in development processes

Larssen, Tina January 2017 (has links)
In organisations today, it has become more important to work with quality development, to be able to handle and meet the rapid changes in the society. For this report, a case study has been done on a unit that works with development and administration for a Social administration, to see how they work with quality development today, and how it can be improved. Theories on quality development and continues improvements, together with research made on how to lead change has been applied in this study. The result shows that a key factor that needs to be improved, to be able to work with quality development, is to make clearer definitions of the projects from start, so that they can be analysed and developed when finished. The presented recommendation for this is to use a more structured work methodology when starting a new project. This could help the employers to get a better definition of the expectations of the project, along with a plan for follow-up, that needs to be done to keep evolving in the unit. This methodology can hopefully lead to that the culture, that today is focused on doing, can shift towards prioritizing more time for planning and development. This is central if the organisation wants to work with continues improvements.

IDENTIFICATION OF FIRMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING RENEWABLE ENERGY COMPONENTS IN THE KENTUCKY BLUGRASS REGION: A COMPARISON OF REPP STANDARDS CLASSIFICATION USAGE VERSUS SELF-IDENTIFICATION USING ONLINE SURVEYS

Scott A Abney (6412250) 15 May 2019 (has links)
<p>While the energy field has been primarily dominated by fossil fuels such as coal and oil, there is evidence that renewable energy sources are starting to gain a stronger foothold in the energy market to accommodate growth (Debbage, 2008; Intelligent, 2008; Sterzinger, 2006). This has been the result of greater social concern, as well as tax and other government incentives (Intelligent, 2008; Debbage, 2008). Due to these trends, a growing market opportunity exists for cities and states to increase their renewable energy component production (Intelligent, 2008; Regional, 2013; Debbage, 2008; IPCC, 2014). The primary purpose of this study was to survey existing manufacturers in the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky to obtain information and identify manufacturers who: were currently in the renewable energy market, interested in entering the renewable energy market, or have no interest in entering the renewable energy market. Respondents also addressed potential barriers to the growth of the renewable energy field including workforce development, government policy, and investment capital. A total of 25 companies responded to the survey. Correlation analysis was used and determined that no significant correlation existed between surveyed companies who identified themselves as suppliers of renewable energy components and those companies who were identified as possible suppliers of renewable energy components within the REPP (Renewable Energy Policy Project) standards. This study builds on previous methodology used by Debbage (2008) for North Carolina. </p>

Nyström, Natalie, Croce, Sebastian January 2021 (has links)
Obstacles within production flows at manufacturing companies can occur. These obstacles may occur due to lack of communication, problems with the production planning department or some other leading function within the company, alternatively due to varying capacity of different operations in the production flow.  Because of these problems, the purpose of this thesis is to investigate and identify possible organizational challenges within the production flow of a manufacturing company. The objective with this analysis is to enlighten problems in a methodical and structured way. In order to identify the organizational challenges, the production flow through a specific process at a case company is being analyzed, a curing process. A literature review introducing Lean Production, as well as eight semi-structured interviews, was the beginning of the methodology. To answer the purpose of the thesis, a workshop with 14 participants from the company was held, and the interview answers formed the base for the workshop.  Results of the study shows that the production flow has a few areas that are in need of some improvements. Today, the company is lacking a clear communication of needs between some processes before and after the curing process. The results of this is an uneven product flow and the need for clearer, short term planning within the production flow. Results of the study will be implemented in the working method at the case company, with the purpose to reduce or eliminate the identified challenges.  Outcomes of this thesis are methods and models within Lean Production that could assist the case company in addressing existing challenges as well as identifying future challenges. In order to ensure that the suggested method is applicable by other manufacturing companies, further research of more companies is needed.

Systémové pojetí metody nejvyššího a nejlepšího využití při oceňování nemovitostí / System concept of method highest and best use in the valuation of real estate

Klika, Pavel January 2017 (has links)
Currently, development of the international investment market, the impact of the legislation of neighbouring countries and especially EU countries on property valuation is increasing. There is a need to unify not only the valuation procedures, but also terms, definitions, approaches, methods and requirements on the profession of the experts and assessors. One of the commonly used concepts of property valuation is the High and Best Use approach. This is a term that appears both in foreign and Czech literature, especially in connection to valuation of properties. When valuing a property and taking into account a valuation approach by considering the future use of the property, the consideration of the best use is crucial. When valuing using so called revenue way, i.e. we consider future property yields, the High and Best Use approach should be an indispensable part of the valuation. Although this is a very fundamental concept, there is no literature in the Czech Republic or abroad that would analyse in detail the process of property evaluation based on the High and Best Use method. The main aim of this dissertation thesis is to systematically elaborate the methods of valuation using the High and Best Use approach and to create a standard for experts, according to which it would be possible to process the valuation, respectively a part of the valuation of immovable properties. On the basis of such valuation, it would be possible to determine the market value of the immovable property in compliance with international standards and modern property valuation publications. The result of this dissertation thesis is both the proposal of a detailed procedure of a qualified expert´s work on an evaluation of the High and Best Use, including the influence of the easements on land and buildings, of a property and the proposal of an expert standard on this methodology. It includes a sample examples of an evaluation of the High and Best Use of the properties in the most common cases. The knowledge and information from this thesis have its contribution in Forensic engineering area in the field of theory and practice and pedagogical activities.

Trafikstudie av industriområde : Med fokus på behovs- och åtgärdsanalys av transportsystem / Industrial area traffic study : With a focus on the need and measure analysis of transport system

Changrachang, Taweeporn January 2014 (has links)
An efficient transportation system is a fundamental condition for all in a society. Planning the transport system and its development must take into account of needs and demands to decision makers. It is a challenge to produce improvement in an efficient and sustainable way. To have an efficient transport system in a fenced industrial area is no exception. It is important to follow the general traffic rules for everybody that move in the work area to perform their daily work under safe traffic conditions. This thesis is conducted as a traffic study of Scania Technical Centre's industrial area. The aims of the present work are: Identify traffic situation in Scania Technical Centre's industrial area for increasing the understanding of the area's character and problems that exist. Emphasizing the impact on transportation that future expansions can imply. Identify possible actions that could improve the current traffic situation with regard to the safe and sustainable traffic environment. Literature study, research inventory, interviews and analysis of measure were done to achieve the above objectives. The results show that Scania Technical Centre is located in a very limited area that is divided into different uses in its operations. This results to a combination of transport types from heavy vehicles to pedestrians who are crossing each other, creating conflict points and dangers in the area. After studies the following results have been gained. It turned out that one of the biggest problems that cause conflicts in the area is prohibited pedestrians within the place where they do not belong. Therefore, various measures have been proposed to solve this problem. Solution analysis was based on the Swedish Transport Administration’s four stage principle and Mobility Management which are the general method for sustainable actions in transportation system. The thesis will be used as support material to achieve a sustainable and safe traffic environment in Scania Technical Centre and similar area. A balance of action in terms of available resources and conflicting goals of the business is needed to be done for further studies.

Continuous Improvements – The Key to Industrial Construction in Practice? : A case study at a large Swedish construction firm / Ständiga förbättringar – Nyckeln till industriellt byggande i praktiken? : En fallstudie i ett stort Svenskt byggföretag

ATTERSTRÖM, VICTOR, THEORIN, HENRIC January 2014 (has links)
The  construction  industry  has  during  a  long  time  suffered  from  poor  development  in  productivity compared to other industries, especially the manufacturing industry. Many initiatives for industrialization have been made during the past decade in order to benefit from standardized products and processes, in Sweden most notably through "Miljonprogrammet" in the 1960s. This era was heavily influenced by the prevailing production philosophy in the manufacturing industry at the time - mass production. Today the industrialization  initiatives  are  based  on  concepts  from  lean  production  where  the  focus  is  upon eliminating all forms of waste through what is related to as industrial construction. This report is based on the purpose to, using lean philosophies and tools, investigate how concepts from industrial construction is applied in the production of residential buildings using prefabricated concrete elements. The perspective of lean production is chosen because it is suitable for the study of value flows, especially in a production environment. One of the largest  Swedish construction firms  - NCC  AB, currently deploys technical platforms and conceptual products in order to industrialize the processes used to construct rental housing with production cost and time reduction in focus. One of the key components used are prefabricated concrete elements which means the company is suitable as a case study. Some of the main results extracted through this research is that the studied company and in extension the entire construction industry performs poorly in terms of continuous improvements. This could be a main explanation for the industry’s productivity development in comparison with other industries, especially the manufacturing industry. Further, three areas of particular importance are derived from the case study and compared to theory within industrial construction. These areas are, in this report, labeled pillars for industrialization and it  is  argued for  that  these pillars  needs  to be considered  in order  to  enable a successful industrialized construction process.
