Integration genom Idrott och hälsa : En kvalitativ intervjustudie av hur elever med utomeuropeisk etnicitet upplever ämnet Idrott och hälsa som en integrationsarena

Zuko, Irfan, Zetterbjörk, Martin January 2009 (has links)

Nyanländ i skolbiblioteket : En kvalitativ studie av hur skolbibliotek kan utforma sin verksamhet för nyanlända elever / New Arrivals in the School Library : A Qualitative Study of how School Libraries Can Adapt Their Programme to Immigrant Students.

Larsson, Camilla January 2017 (has links)
This thesis examines how school libraries can adapt their programme to new arrival immigrant students. The purpose is to survey the regulatory documents for school libraries to investigate how they adapt their programme based on the documents; how new arrival students regard their information needs and if the regulatory documents and practice cover those needs; and finally, if the regulatory documents and practice can lead to integration. The theoretical framework consists of integration theory, discourse analysis and SWOT-analysis. The methods used to collect data were semi-structured interviews, conducted with five librarians at four high school libraries, in addition to two student interviews, observations, and 26 questionnaires that were collected from students. Important findings are that the regulatory documents advocate an adaption to the new arrival students, and thereby interpellate them with certain needs, such as literature in their native language as well as easy reader books in Swedish. The school libraries adapt their programme based on these needs. From the students' perspective, the requirements specified in the regulatory documents align with the new arrivals’ needs to a certain extent. There are, however, additional needs, which the students expressed that are not yet being met by the regulatory documents or library programme. Based on the empirical material it is recommended to do an inventory of the newcomer students’ needs before adapting the library programme. Finally, the results suggest that the regulatory documents and the library programme make integration in the library context possible when it comes to the communicative dimension. However, more could be done regarding social integration, which is one of the needs the students express, but that does not have sufficient support in the regulatory documents. These additional needs should be met in order to improve integration for new arrivals into the library programme. This is a two year master’s thesis in Library and Information Science.

Technologická integrace ICT služeb / Technological integration of ICT services

Jelínek, Martin January 2014 (has links)
This thesis deals with the integration of ICT services at the technological level. It mainly focuses on the integration of services which are provided by third parties and a user cannot change them. In this work are described the characteristics of web services and the typical methods for designing their application interface. Furthermore, are described various approaches to integration of applications at the technological level and some integration tools. As part of this thesis, was also created an application designed for integration of web services. This application can be categorized as message-oriented middleware. The aim was to create a simple application, which still meets basic requirements for this kind of applications. This thesis also contains a description of the created application and a description of problems that occurred during implementation. During the application development were used some integration design patterns, which are also described in this thesis.

Srovnání ukrajinských ekonomických migrantů v Polsku a České republice po roce 2014: sítě, migrační politika a indikátory integrace. / A comparison of Ukrainian economic migrants in Poland and the Czech Republic after 2014: networks, migration policies and integration indicators

Bondariev, Oleksandr January 2021 (has links)
1 Abstract After the Euromaidan revolution, Ukraine has faced an annexation of Crimea and the War of Donbas, with the subsequent economic crisis hurting the living standards of the population. It has led many to travel abroad, as economic migrants, to find better conditions for work and residence. Many Ukrainians started working in Poland and the Czech Republic, becoming the largest group of foreigners there. This dissertation examines the differences between Ukrainians working in those two countries after 2014. Initially, this research discovers theories of migration and integration indicators, identifying key topics to focus on. Those topics are migrants' networks, migration policies of host countries and two integration indicators (real estate participation and human capital). The results suggest that migrants' networks successfully enhance social and economic integration of migrants, with a language factor playing a crucial role. Furthermore, it is important to note social integration largely depends on the willingness to integrate, and it is not always the case. This dissertation shows that Polish migration policies treat Ukrainian economic migrants more favourably than Czech migration policies, providing special treatment and easier access to the labour markets. However, a path to receive a...

Managing Acquisition Success in a Knowledge Intensive Industry : How key employee retention is managed in the event of a company acquisition

Finnström, Jonas, Mao, Robin January 2022 (has links)
Mergers and acquisitions have become increasingly popular as a method for enabling growth, and in 2021, global M&A value hit an all-time high. However, as mergers and acquisitions are complex organizational events, an estimated 70-90% of acquisitions fail to deliver value and prove to be a significant waste of time and resources. This study aims to expand the knowledge on acquisitions and their underlying success factor. Specifically, the study adopts the human perspective of employee retention and investigates two main issues; How managers of acquisitions work to retain key employees and what factors affect key employees’ willingness to remain in an acquired company. Data was collected by conducting semi-structured interviews with seven respondents from six different tech consultancy firms. The respondents all work for firms that operate in Sweden and conduct international business activities. Furthermore, all firms were involved in an acquisition deal in 2020 on the Swedish market as either being an acquiring firm or an acquired firm. The study found that to retain key employees in an acquisition, managers focus on primarily using financial and non-financial incentives, communication to instill trust in the acquisition, and creating a sense of belongingness and identity in the new company. On the other hand, for key employees, primary motivating factors for staying in an acquired company were non-financial incentives in the form of development opportunities, a strong vision and commitment communicated by acquisition managers, and identification with the company.

Process Integration: Unifying Concepts, Industrial Applications and Software Implementation

Mann, James Gainey 29 October 1999 (has links)
This dissertation is a complete unifying approach to the fundamentals, industrial applications and software implementation of an important branch of process-engineering principles and practice, called process integration. The latter refers to the system-oriented, thermodynamically-based and integrated approaches to the analysis, synthesis and retrofit of process plants, focusing on integrating the use of materials and energy, and minimizing the generation of emissions and wastes. This work extends process integration to include applications for industrial water reuse and wastewater minimization and presents previous developments in a unified manner. The basic ideas of process integration are: (1) to consider first the big picture by looking at the entire manufacturing process as an integrated system; (2) to apply process-engineering principles to key process steps to establish a priori targets for the use of materials and energy, and for the generation of emissions and wastes; and (3) to finalize the details of the process design and retrofit later to support the integrated view, particularly in meeting the established targets. Pinch technology is a set of primarily graphical tools for analyzing a process plant's potential for energy conservation, emission reduction and waste minimization. Here, we identify targets for the minimum consumption of heating and cooling utilities, mass-separating agents, freshwater consumption, wastewater generation and effluent treatment and propose economical grassroots designs and retrofit projects to meet these goals. An emerging alternative approach to pinch technology, especially when analyzing complex water-using operations and effluent-treatment systems, is mathematical optimization. We solve nonlinear programming problems for simple water-using operations through readily available commercial software. However, more complex, nonconvex problems require sophisticated reformulation techniques to guarantee optimality and are the subject of continuing academic and commercial development. This work develops the principles and practice of an environmentally significant breakthrough of process integration, called water-pinch technology. The new technology enables the practicing engineers to maximize water reuse, reduce wastewater generation, and minimize effluent treatment through pinch technology and mathematical optimization. It applies the technology in an industrial water-reuse demonstration project in a petrochemical complex in Taiwan, increasing the average water reuse (and thus reducing the wastewater treatment) in the five manufacturing facilities from 18.6% to 37%. This dissertation presents complete conceptual and software developments to unify the known branches of process integration, such as heat and mass integration, and wastewater minimization, and explores new frontiers of applications to greatly simplify the tools of process integration for practicing engineers. / Ph. Relationen mellan religionsfrihet och integration : En diskursanalys av politiska motioner

Djupfeldt, Emma January 2023 (has links)
Integration is a hot topic in our society today and we have a greater influence of other religious beliefs than ever before. As Swedish society grows with influences from other cultures to a greater extent, the Swedish political agenda focuses more and more on integration. I perceive working for integration in a multicultural society as something of a balancing act on the framework of laws and regulations that we must comply to with in Sweden. For example, according to the Freedom of Religion Act, we all have the right to practice religion and believe what we want, while the law also gives us the right to refrain from having a religious belief. Following, interpreting, and considering the Freedom of Religion Act can sometimes be complex, as religion has many definitions and in many cases is so much more than just a belief. In many cases, a person's identity and cultural background are strongly influenced by religious traditions and moral positions. The purpose of my study is to widen the knowledge about the relation between integration and freedom of religion by investigating how the political integration agenda works together with the Freedom of Religion Act. This have I tried to achieve through a discursive analysis of motions of the Swedish Riksdag.  Three questions are posed to guide the study: Do the motions highlight religion as a factor to be considered in connection with the political integration work? Do the motions present religion as inner faith or something more cultural and/or identity-based? Are the proposed integration policy measures compatible with the Freedom of Religion Act? I have found in my study that the integration policy is compatible with religious freedom on certain levels. On which levels and to what extent it differs between the various parties, as well as on how to define religion and religious freedom.
