"The power of eWOM and online reviews on Generation Z" : A quantitative study about to what degree eWOM and online reviews influence Generation Z's purchase intention regarding interior design in Sweden.

Hughes, Lizette, Maria, Persson January 2023 (has links)
Title: The power of eWOM and online reviews on Generation Z - a quantitative study about to what degree do eWOM and online reviews influence Generation Z’s purchase intention regarding interior design in Sweden. Background: This thesis explains the influence of electronic word of mouth (eWOM) and online reviews on the purchasing intention of Generation Z, the world's largest consumer group, within the interior design industry in Sweden. As a result of their constant exposure to marketing through various platforms and social media, eWOM and online reviews have become increasingly influential in consumer purchasing intention. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to explain to what degree do eWOM and online reviews influence Generation Z’s (those born between 1995-2005) purchasing intention regarding interior design in Sweden. Method: The empirical findings were obtained using quantitative research with a deductive approach. Data collection was done through an online survey completed by participants born between 1995-2005 and did not exclude any other age groups. After analysing the findings through an independent sample t-test and Cronbach’s alpha test, they were compared and contrasted with the existing literature to determine their similarities and differences. Conclusion: Overall, this research contributes to our knowledge of consumer behaviour and provides guidance for companies and their marketers aiming to target Generation Z. Understanding the influence of eWOM and online reviews enables companies to adapt their marketing strategies to align with this generation's preferences and trust factors.

Stalegraphics is a type of fine art that combines graphics and monumentality. It is used as a decorative part of the interior or exterior. It is based on the tonal principle of painting, which divides the tone into three components: light, penumbra, shadow. The purpose of our work is to create an organization that produces paintings from thin steel sheets based on author's sketches, as well as on the plots of famous artists. Unique paintings in the technique of "stalegraphy" will be an excellent decoration of the interior. The final qualifying work consists of an introduction, thirteen chapters, a conclusion, a list of references and appendices. The volume of work is 283 pages, 33 applications, 54 graphic elements and 13 tables. The introduction substantiates the relevance of the topic, shows the goals and objectives. The first chapter deals with the issue of paintings by certain authors and titles. The second chapter is devoted to the study of the market, the study of competitors, as well as pricing. The third chapter reflects the ways of promoting paintings. The fourth chapter presents the production program of the enterprise. The fifth chapter describes the technology of creating paintings using programs. In the sixth and seventh chapters, the technology of creating paintings and equipment was selected. The eighth chapter shows the technology of manufacturing metal panels on a laser machine, describes the inkjet processing. In the ninth chapter, the materials necessary for the production of paintings were selected. In chapter ten, the painting is analyzed and selected. In chapter eleven, the choice of premises was justified and the plan of the enterprise was presented. Chapter twelve demonstrates the economic feasibility of the project and the main economic indicators are calculated. The thirteenth chapter describes the purchase and storage of personal protective equipment. In conclusion, conclusions are drawn.

Limitations of cGAN in functional area division for interior design / Begränsningar av villkorligt generativt motståndsnätverk i funktionsområdesindelning inom interiördesign

Sommarlund, Julia January 2022 (has links)
A process that historically has been hard to automate is interior design, mainly due to its subjective nature and lack of obvious guidelines. Scientifically, there is interest to examine if subjective processes can be automated using black box algorithms such as neural networks, as well as corporate interest in this subject to increase efficiency and create systems for automated floor plan design. This work focuses on finding the limitations of such a project, mainly in establishing the threshold of data points needed for an algorithm in this area to generate relevant results as well as an investigation into requirements to make systems of this kind incorporated in a production pipeline. In this work floor plans with functional area division were set out to be generated using a conditional, generative, adversarial network, cGAN. The system is applied on a use-case provided by NORNORM, a company providing a circular, subscription-based furnishing service for office spaces, also providing data in the form of floor plans. The algorithm is inspired by Yang et al.’s stateof-the-art model from 2019 and the network is tested with three data sets of different sizes, consisting of 100, 500 and 1000 floor plans respectively. This work includes a quantitative evaluation inspired by by Di and Yu, using the average intersection over union metric. Additionally, this work proposes a qualitative evaluation. The qualitative evaluation is carried out using interior designers, posed with a subjective, two-alternative, forced-choice (2AFC) approval or disapproval of the design as a first draft to a customer. This evaluation was not conducted due to insufficient results. The generated results suggests that the threshold for data lies above 1000 data points and, compared to the work by Yang et al., below 4000 data points, the quantitative evaluation concurred with this statement. This interval could be narrowed in future work. In relation as to whether or not the system could be production ready there are a few requirements unachieved, for instance automated data collection and preprocessing. Future work could include conducting the qualitative evaluation on a future implementation of this system.

Grohmann, Cornelia 21 March 2016 (has links) (PDF)

Boisclair, Chantal 04 1900 (has links)
The present study considers the role of interior design in health centers in a therapeutic way. It is a theoretical exploratory research. The framework within which it is performed comprises the Biopolitics of Michel Foucault, the Sense of Coherence of Aaron Antonovsky, and the Restorative Environments from Kaplan & Kaplan. Each of these approaches is to provide a better understanding of the therapeutic question in its relation to health, and to identify elements to further enrich and to give another view on the thematic issue – that is, Healing Environments. We suggest six concepts: exclusion/isolation, power, social interactions, social support, pleasure and reflection. A case study aimed at examining their validity is carried out in the Centre de réadaptation Estrie. This facility, part of the Réseau de la santé et des services sociaux du Québec, is also a designated member of Planetree, whose mission is devoted to the development of management practices respectful of the human dimension in the health care environment. The quality of the physical environment being one of the ten key components of the model promoted by this organisation, the analysis, in view of the validation or the rejection of the concepts drawn from the theoretical framework, concerns the concrete forms given to these concepts. Hence, we retain: social interactions, social support, pleasure and reflection, and reject exclusion/isolation and power. Alternative proposals for these last two concepts are submitted: limits/privacy and empowerment. The principal suggestion for future research is the development of the notion of “welcome”, where interior design plays, as such, a role in health care environments.

Blais, Irini 03 1900 (has links)
This thesis presents and discusses an important issue that is part of a current context, both international and local level, since it affects 1 child in 68 (CDC, 2010). We are talking about the Autism spectrum disorder (ASD). More specifically, this research focuses on young autistic adults who suddenly find themselves facing a lack of services. It suggests that an adequate adaptation of the environment should be explored in order to provide adapted day Centers to this clientele. The question of the research is the following: What are the elements of interior design that can improve the quality of life of autistic adults? It is essential to linger over it, since ASD people are characterized by hypersensitivity and hyposensitivity to the environment. Even if the subject of autism is richly documented by medical science, it appeared that it is less studied by the interior architecture domain. The methodological strategy of this research is based on analysis of precedents, participant observation and the conducting semi-structured interviews with parents of autistic people. This study aims simultaneously to improve the understanding of the emerging practice of design as an intervention and the identification of factors (lightings, colors, materials, spatial organization) that could improve the wellbeing of autistics adults. Based on the data collected, it was noticed that, indeed, several means can be undertaken to design environments improving the well-being of adults. The results extracted from the field study lead us to clear layout proposals: making the abstract as concrete as possible, develop areas of social withdrawal, offer a variety of atmospheres, and finally provide a safe environment.
