A proposta de Tese incidiu numa leitura interpretativa das vicissitudes eróticas manifestas sob profundos sentimentos de erotismo nas mais variadas formas. No recorte proposto, analisamos, na prosa machadiana, os desdobramentos dos interditos eróticos que se formam no contexto da sensualidade e do jogo da sedução. Assim, indagamos a temática erótica, no decurso dos contos e romances do corpus temático selecionado, através dos princípios essenciais da análise interna das narrativas. Deste modo, na leitura dos textos machadianos, buscamos sorver palavra por palavra, dita e não-dita, perscrutando seus sentidos visíveis e ocultos, sugeridos e dissimulados por meio de signos semióticos contextualizados em seus ambientes, situações e condições que incidem dos subsídios textuais apreendidos na hipótese erótica que investigamos. Os instrumentos teóricos que contribuíram na efetivação desta pesquisa estão coligados às referências bibliográficas a respeito da obra machadiana afim ao tema em análise. Acresce também que este estudo está inter-relacionado aos pensamentos de autores que defenderam pressupostos teóricos literários, ideológicos, filosóficos e psicanalíticos na busca de possíveis interpretações dos enigmas eróticos pelos quais a condição humana é confrontada. Assim, o erotismo em Machado de Assis, não escancara e, sim, insinua-se; e está constituído entre a sobriedade e a leveza até os limites da morbidez em contiguidade a uma ironia latente. A proposição erótica não é vulgarizada e nem é composta sob a conjuntura da gratuidade, pois o autor ajusta causa e efeito. O erotismo é paradoxal, pois não se mostra em plenitude e nem se esconde em sua essência. É concluso que os índices... / Abstract: This research aims to elect certain isotopic traces which confirm the presence of "eroticism rates Machado's speech". The proposal is to point out the obvious erotic vicissitudes under deep feelings of eroticism in various forms. It is proposed to cut, analyze, in Machado's prose, the unfolding of erotic prohibitions that form in the context of sensuality and seduction game. The research proposal involves asking the erotic theme, over the short stories and novels the selected theme corpus through the basic norms of internal analysis of the narratives. Our reading of Machado's texts, in thesis, search sipping word for word, spoken and unspoken, peering into their visible senses and hidden, suggested and hidden through semiotic signs contextualized in their environments, situations and conditions that present textual subsidies seized the erotic situation that we propose to investigate. The theoretical instruments that contributed to the realization of research are protected under references about the critical Machado's fortune related to the topic at clipping. Our analysis is interrelated to the thoughts of authors who defended literary theoretical assumptions, ideological, philosophical and psychoanalytic in search of possible interpretations of erotic puzzles by which the human condition is confronted. So eroticism in Machado de Assis, not flung open and, yes, insinuates itself. It is formed between sobriety and lightness to the morbidity of limits in proximity to a latent irony. The erotic proposition is not widespread and is not made in the context of gratuity, because the author is guided by cause and effect. Eroticism is paradoxical because it does not appear fully and neither hides in its essence. Esta dissertação busca, por meio da literatura infanto-juvenil, avançar no debate de tecnologia e cultura, bem como questionar o papel historicamente assumido pelo gênero. Por meio de obras da literatura infantojuvenil brasileira produzidas entre os anos de 1999 e 2010, busca-se levantar possíveis formas de representação da tecnologia na produção contemporânea e defender sua importância como produção literária. Apresentar a literatura infantojuvenil como plano de fundo para discussões acadêmicas, independentemente do recorte proposto, pode ser um trabalho bastante árduo, especialmente pela pouca valorização que o gênero encontra frente à crítica literária. O diálogo entre tecnologia e cultura, por sua vez, também ainda é pouco divulgado inclusive no campo interdisciplinar de Ciência, Tecnologia e Sociedade. A linha principal linha teórica que permeia o trabalho é o Materialismo Cultural, proposto por Raymond Williams. / The research about technology and culture makes possible discussions and reflections about society and ways of life. This dissertation intents, through children's literature, to advance the discussion of technology and culture as well as to question the role historically assumed by gender. Through works of Brazilian teenager literature produced between the years 1999 and 2010, we intend to raise possible ways of manifestation of technology in contemporary production and to defend its value as a literary production. Propose the teenager literature as background for academic discussions can be rather arduous, especially because the low value granted to the gender by literary criticism. The dialogue between technology and culture, in turn, is still too little known even in the interdisciplinary field of Science, Technology and Society. As our theoretical basis we resorted to the Cultural Materialism, presented by Raymond Williams.

These novels were analyzed according to the concept of death proposed by the philosophical studies of Martin Heiddeger, Jean-Paul Sartre, Edgar Morin, Georges Bataille, Jean Baudrillard and Maurice Blanchot among others, as well as mythic, iconographic and historical aspects of the representation of death according to the studies of Phillipe Ariès and Johan Huizinga. Some theories of Narratology were also used in order to understand the complex relation and representation of death in Literature. / O presente estudo investiga a ficcionalização da morte em quatro romances da literatura portuguesa contemporânea. São essas obras Aparição de Vergílio Ferreira, Lourenço é nome de jogral de Fernanda Botelho, O triunfo da morte de Augusto Abelaira e As intermitências da morte de José Saramago. Para o estudo e análise dessas obras desenvolveu-se pesquisa em torno do conceito de morte estabelecido pela filosofia contemporânea, através das teorias de Martin Heiddeger, Jean-Paul Sartre, Edgar Morin, Georges Bataille, Jean Baudrillard, Maurice Blanchot entre outros; assim como aspectos míticos, iconográficos e históricos da representação da morte a partir dos estudos de Phillipe Ariès e Johan Huizinga. Associamos a esse material filosófico e histórico conhecimentos da narratologia que nos permitiram entender a complexa relação e representação da morte no âmbito da literatura.

Nesta obra encontramos breves e condensadas manifestações poéticas - "101 haikais ou quase" (assim os denomina o próprio sujeito lírico). A confluência de registros poéticos datados e consagrados imprime uma informação estética diversificada, característica freqüente na cena literária contemporânea brasileira. Em relação ao conteúdo, os poemas de AD NADA apresentam um caráter niilista que impulsiona seu sujeito lírico a reconsiderar/questionar as concepções absolutas presentes na nossa existência, tal como a noção de Deus, imposta ao homem, principalmente, pela metafísica e teologia ocidental. Repensar tais conceitos é repensar também a linguagem automatizada e ter a possibilidade de criar uma outra que desestabilize os discursos cristalizados e estereotipados que subjugam a condição humana. A partir dessas perspectivas, analisaremos e interpretaremos a configuração do niilismo na obra para, então, verificarmos como esse posicionamento frente ao mundo influencia o fazer poético do eu-lírico e a sua relação com a palavra poética. / Abstract: This thesis is aimed at investigating the poetic diction of Renato Gonda (1959- ) in AD NADA, a work which contains his brief poetic manifestations: "101 haikais ou quase" (101 haikus or almost), as the author himself calls them. The confluence of dated and consecrated poetic registers imparts a diversified aesthetic information, a frequent characteristic found in the contemporary Brazilian literary scene. As for theme, the poems of Ad Nada present a nihilistic character which leads their lyric subject to reconsider or to call in question the absolute conceptions present in our life, such as the notion of God, imposed to man mainly by western metaphysics or theology. To rethink such concepts is also to rethink automatized language and have the possibility of creating another one, which destabilizes the crystallized and stereotyped discourses which subjugate human condition. On the basis of such perspectives, nihilism will be analyzed and interpreted in the work at hand in order to verify how this positioning before the world influences the poetical work of the lyric self and its relationship with the poetic word. / Mestre

Throughout this paper, departing from the relation between history and literature, I discuss the representations of slavery present in the novel O mulato, by Aluísio Azevedo. I analyze how slavery and the subjects linked to it are represented in a moment when the intellectuals, thinking of new bases for the nation, inquired the society in which they lived, articulating in a complex way the positivist discussion, which legitimated their discourses in a pattern that could no make it impossible the development of a project of nation, considering the miscegenation of the population. For this study, I dialog with different documentations: newspapers, memory books, letters and mainly the very work O mulato. I evidence different editions of the text, especially the first one, which presents fundamental elements for the understanding of the book repercussion, particularly the critic to slavery in that edition, which assumes different proportions in the subsequent editions. / No decorrer deste trabalho, discuto, a partir da relação história / literatura, as representações da escravidão presentes no romance O mulato, de Aluísio Azevedo. Analiso como a escravidão e os sujeitos a ela ligados são representados num momento em que os intelectuais, pensando em novas bases para a nação, problematizavam a sociedade em que viviam, articulando de modo complexo a discussão positivista, que legitimava seus discursos num padrão que não inviabilizasse o desenvolvimento de um projeto de nação, tendo em vista a miscigenação da população. Para esse estudo, dialogo com diferentes documentações: jornais, livros de memórias, cartas e principalmente a própria obra O mulato. This dissertation presents as its principal objective an analysis of the work As intermitências da morte, by the Portuguese author José Saramago. There are few studies about this theme and, therefore, in the intention of adding bibliography to the studies about death on Saramago, we decided to increase the debate about that subject. This dissertation search to read and interpret this novel by the view of the circularity between erudite and popular cultures. Our studies are based both on Câmara Cascudo s studies, with his tales of the Portuguese- Brazilian folklore, and on the analysis made by Carlo Ginzburg and Bakhtin, about the intertextual dialogue between academy and folk. About the questions that concerns the myth, our studies are supported by Eliade, the Bible and the anthropological and philosophical studies about the death and the institutions that drill it, such as the Church, the government, the politics. This work also search to analyze the structure and the composition of the novel As intermitências da morte, by José Saramago. Our view touches the folkloric tales and myths that treat the theme of death and also touches works considered erudite in the academic sphere, such as The Picture of Dorian Gray, Dante s Divine Comedy, among others. / Esta dissertação apresenta como principal objetivo uma análise da obra As intermitências da morte, do autor português José Saramago. Há poucos estudos sobre essa temática e, portanto, no intuito de acrescentar bibliografia aos estudos sobre a morte em Saramago, resolvemos ampliar o debate sobre tal assunto. Esta dissertação procura ler e interpretar este romance pelo viés da circularidade entre as culturas eruditas e populares. Nossos estudos estão embasados tanto nos estudos de Câmara Cascudo, com seus contos do folclore luso-brasileiro, como também nas análises estabelecidas por Carlo Ginzburg e Bakhtin sobre o diálogo intertextual entre a academia e o povo. Já no que concerne às questões do mito, nossos estudos se apoiam em Eliade, na Bíblia e nos estudos antropológicos e filosóficos sobre a morte e as instituições que a adestram, como a Igreja, o governo, a política. Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado de Minas Gerais / This dissertation presents the analysis of three letters, written by Olga Benario and addressed to Luiz Carlos Prestes, during the period when she was imprisoned in Nazi Germany of Adolf Hitler, and he in dictatorial Brazil of Getúlio Vargas. Understanding the importance of epistolary writing, especially when it becomes the only form of communication, we seek to find Olga profile brands that escape existing stereotypical view in the popular imagination. For this, we analyzed the letters from the perspective of war, love, and readings that Benario did, alongside his life, and records in the space of reflection that the letter provides. The proposal is to allow, through writing own Olga Benario, find his reflections, anguish and desires. Therefore, base us in theoretical as Alfredo Bosi, Leonor Arfuch, Maria Luiza Tucci Carneiro, Martin Gilbert, Peter Gay, Primo Levi, Silvina Rodrigues Lopes, Tzvetan Todorov, among others. / Esta dissertação apresenta a análise de três cartas, escritas por Olga Benario e endereçadas a Luiz Carlos Prestes, durante o período em que ela esteve presa na Alemanha nazista de Adolf Hitler, e ele no Brasil ditatorial de Getúlio Vargas. Compreendendo a importância da escrita epistolar, principalmente quando se torna a única forma de comunicação, buscamos encontrar marcas de um perfil de Olga que escapam à visão estereotipada existente no imaginário popular. Para isso, analisamos as cartas sob a perspectiva da guerra, do amor e das leituras de Benario, feitas ao longo de sua vida e registradas no espaço de reflexão que a epístola proporciona. A proposta é permitir, por meio da escrita da própria Olga Benario, encontrar suas reflexões, angústias e desejos. Most narratives of Eça de Queiroz is aimed to the so-called realism / naturalism. At the end of the nineteenth century, Eça has its climax with the final publication of O Crime do Padre Amaro (1875), the subject of great social criticism. But what interests us in this work is the fact that at this very moment, the author has given way to a fantastic and humorous literature, which takes place with the publication of O mandarim. Eça can show their works in a game between fiction and reality, because even being a pioneer in Portugal Realism, fantasy fits perfectly in his novels and short stories. And in some of his works, the characters travel to the East cause some hesitation in the reader, which comes into contact with this image as Eastern scrutinized and observed by the Western view. This study aims to analyze and present spatial features and two fantastic works of Eça de Queiroz: O mandarim and A relíquia, from the perspective of writers such as Edward Said, in his work Orientalism, that emphasizes the concept of Orientalism. It\'s important to note here that O mandarim and A relíquia are not the only two works that focus on the issue, since many other works of Eça portray the East. / A maior parte das narrativas de Eça de Queirós é voltada para o que se convencionou chamar de Realismo/Naturalismo. Ao final do século XIX, Eça tem o seu auge com a publicação definitiva de O crime do Padre Amaro (1880), obra esta que foi alvo de grandes críticas sociais. Mas, o que nos interessa no presente trabalho é o fato de, nesse mesmo momento, o autor ter dado lugar a uma literatura fantástica e humorística, com a publicação de O mandarim (1880). Eça consegue demonstrar em suas obras um jogo entre ficção e realidade, pois, mesmo sendo pioneiro no Realismo de Portugal, a fantasia se encaixa perfeitamente nos seus romances e contos. E, em algumas de suas obras, as viagens dos personagens ao Oriente provocam uma certa hesitação no leitor, que entra em contato com essa imagem oriental tão perscrutada e observada pela visão ocidental. Este estudo visa analisar e apresentar os aspectos espaciais e fantásticos de duas obras queirosianas: O mandarim e A relíquia, sob uma perspectiva de autores como Edward Said, que enfatiza em sua obra Orientalismo (1990) o conceito de orientalismo; e de autores que embasam a fundamentação teórica sobre a literatura fantástica, como Tzvetan Todorov, Filipe Furtado e Remo Ceserani. É de extrema importância ressaltar aqui que O mandarim e A relíquia não são as duas únicas obras que focalizam o tema, visto que inúmeras outras obras de Eça retratam o Oriente. / Mestre em Teoria Literária

Esta dissertação pretende investigar a literatura de fantasia como em contos de fadas a partir do aparente impasse entre a racionalidade e a ordem mágica e poética. Teriam as narrativas maravilhosas algo a dizer? A visão mágica dos textos pode deixar de ser restrita apenas às crianças? Por que razão esse tipo de narrativa é caracterizado pela teoria literária (bem como os críticos literários) como uma literatura menor? Se as mesmas não têm muito a dizer, por que permanecem conhecidas e constantemente recriadas, ou estudadas e analisadas por outras áreas do conhecimento, como a psicanálise? A imaginação norteia a produção nas artes e, como um ato humano, propõe um olhar mais denso e consistente. Com isso, a fonte dessa investigação é o autor e acadêmico J. R. R. Tolkien. Assim, sob o viés da criação artística, a tentativa é formular a contraposição entre duas grandes correntes de análise do efeito proporcionado pela trama que possui sua importância histórica: a tradição platônico/aristotélica versus a tradição estética de Kant e dos românticos. / This dissertation intends to investigate fantasy literature as in fairy tales from the apparent impasse between rationality and the magic and poetic order. Would the fantasy narratives have something to say? Could the magical vision of texts not be restricted just to children readers? Why is this kind of narrative characterized by literary theory (as well as literary critics) as a minor literature? If they do not have much to say, why do they still remain known and constantly recreated, or studied and analyzed by other areas of knowledge, such as psychoanalysis? Imagination guides the production in the arts and, as a human act, proposes a denser and more consistent view. Therefore, the author and academic J. R. R. Tolkien is the source of this research. Thus, under the artistic creation view, the attempt is to formulate the contraposition between two great currents analysis of the effect provided by the plot that has its historical importance: the Platonic/Aristotelian tradition versus Kant and the romantics’ esthetic tradition. / Dissertação (Mestrado)
